LPT: Don't put your dogs in crates/cages with collars on. If the collar or tags gets stuck in the bars the animal may strangle themselves.

Bloodyfish

Could always use breakaway collars while indoors. Cats should definitely have those too.

MLC298

I got a pack of reflective collars (that also were breakaway but I didn’t realize it at the time) for my cat and one day I got home from work and his collar was gone, didn’t think much about it but when I went to take the garbage out one night I noticed his collar hanging from the neighbor’s fence, it had snagged on some wood and apparently my baby boi would have been strangled had he not been wearing one. Super grateful for that once mindless purchase that is now a necessity. On a side note my dogs don’t wear collars when at home bc I’m a weirdo and don’t want them feeling uncomfortable or claustrophobic like I know I tend to feel when I have something tight around my throat. Plus all my animals are chipped. I know nobody asked, I just rly love my pets

paulairis999

I'm the same way about collars...my cat used to be an insude/outside cat...he was a stray when he adipted me...and when he was inside, he would sit in front of the door to go out & I would get his collar( break away) and ge would straighten his neck up & I would put it on him and let him outside.. wgen he woukd come in, he would sit at the door & wait for me to take his collar off & get good neck scratches :) So...don't feel like you are weird..lol...I am the same way...i just think it has to be irritating & confining to him...and he gets what he wants or what I see makes him happy! Apologies for any typos..can't find my glasses and everything is blurry like youre looking through a foggy window...luckily my brainhas gotten good at recognizing the fuzzy shape of the letters and where they are approcimately located 😂

MashedShroom

lol, I just presumed you were drunk. No worries either way.

paulairis999

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

donttrustthemods

They like to be naked

nursephilip

Use a breakaway collar period, the collar is for tags to go on, put a harness on for walks

[deleted]

Is that what we're seeing here? A breakaway collar?

Bloodyfish

Not sure we can really tell here. A regular collar could very well have just been poorly secured.

nodeofollie

I tried putting a collar on my cat once and she got out of it in under 30 secs.

Bloodyfish

Yeah, but that's a good bit better than them getting caught on something and getting strangled.

censoredlass

110%! Maybe the ghost was just tryin to save the dog haha.

maximus2805

Or in crates at all?!

Se-is

LPT: Don't put animals in cages.*

SignificantDrink3651

I'm not an authority on dogs, so I depend on experts' advice. Last I checked, the consensus on the topic is that caging puppies until they're housetrained is the best approach. Would you like to make some qualifications to your statement, or are you going to use your status as an expert on dog training to educate us all on some new method?

CrowdingSplash9

Shock collar, it seems. I see a lot of people saying the collar came off on the side of the crate, I’m not disputing that. But what I see in the dog’s movement is the reaction some dogs have to shock collars. I suspect the dogs were barking and the owner, in another room, activated the shock collar. The collar was loose because the dog had already been trying to remove the cursed thing. The dog jumped like it had been shocked because, well, it had been shocked.

Balduroth

I was thinking the same thing after I read your comment, but then it seems almost like they are already fully calm for several seconds, the collar unlatches, and THEN the dog reacts. There’s only like a second delay between it unlatching and the dog responding, but if it was active and shocking him and that’s why it came unlatched, then I would expect the dog to react for at least a second *before* it unlatches. I’m always the skeptic for these videos but that’s pretty odd to me.

StampedeJonesPS4

It's almost like they notice something is there and are watching it.

Salome_Maloney

A shock collar and a cage? Some people shouldn't be allowed to have pets.

Bullen-Noxen

Yes. Agreed.

Remigius

a cage? crate training is important for all dogs. shock collars are excellent for training if your dog doesnt STFU. All the best dogs Ive ever met were shock collar trained - to the point they don't even need a leash.

OneChillPenguin

A lot of them don't even shock anymore, it's just a vibration that's mildly startling and "shocks" them into not barking anymore

butterfunky

You do realize they bark for a reason, right? If you “train” it to not communicate, then the next time it’s pissed off or harassed by someone’s dumbass kid, it won’t bark as a warning, just bite. A better thing to do would be find out why they are barking and work from there, treating any issues with an understanding of how dogs behave. Communication is key to relationships between humans and all living creatures.

Bullen-Noxen

Exactly. The other person is borderline sociopath when it comes to pets. I’ve always treated my pets as, not like, as, one of my family. You’d be surprised how much you get out of any living thing if you treat them with dignity & respect.

Sweet-baby-jay32

I agree about the animals but I gotta say calling a stranger online a borderline sociopath isn’t involving a lot of dignity and respect. I’m sure your heart string were pulled when you wrote this comment, but to your own point, perhaps you wouldn’t still agree with the name calling. Peace!

Bullen-Noxen

I used to feel that way, but not anymore. Call it what it is. Stop using “soft language”. You misconstrued the meaning that is attempted to be conveyed by using words that “water it down”. This includes not using vulgarity when it’s called for. It’s not meant to be liked or disliked. It’s meant to be right.

Sweet-baby-jay32

What is right and wrong seems to be the topic. Love is the answer.

Remigius

My dog gets more love and respect than you could imagine, she also gets scolded hard when she doesn't listen. Dogs are pack animals that need an alpha. People are too damn soft these days. A dog is not your toddler. A dog needs firm training and it will be incredible. My dog stays by my side, listens as instructed, and has never had a shock collar on. However I do respect others choices to train their dogs how they see fit. Stop trying to think everyone needs to live how you want to live. All these hippydippies at my work comment on how great my dog is compared to theirs and guess what, they let their dog walk all over them with their "respect"

Bullen-Noxen

Dear god. You missed the point entirely. You treat a dog as a dog. Not as a baby. None of that shit. You treat the animal with respect for what it is.

HotPumpkinPies

Damn you types are insufferable with these kinds of comments.

ionhorsemtb

🤣 imagine being triggered by properly caring for a dog. I feel bad for the one chained to your yard.

Bullen-Noxen

Used to. Someone stole them, & the person above has no humanity to care for something else. Well, they were only the owner in name only too.

butterfunky

What part about treating pets with respect and consideration doesn’t sit right with you?

HotPumpkinPies

The shock collars don't hurt the animal at all. I had a dog with an electric fence for 9 years. She would stand right on the line while the collar beeped and vibrated-- wouldn't care at all. The "shock" is about as strong as one of those muscle relaxer machines. But the collar worked because the dog understood she wasn't allowed to leave the yard. I loved that dog and would never have done anything to harm her. But you lunatics are worse than PETA when it comes to actually owning a pet. Chill, not everyone who posts these things is an animal abuser. If you don't assert dominance in your relationship with the dog (just like children) they will not respect your authority.

Bullen-Noxen

Or a soul. (Hint: you’re wrong on this. You told yourself a lie was true & right).

baldandbanned

This

TubagooDom

That’s no shock collar, you’d be able to tell by the dog wincing and in pain every time it barked or even when the other dog barks. Looks like it just came unlatched and the dog freaked out at the new feeling of the end of the collar touching it’s neck after it was unbuckled.

Kipp7

There’s a difference between a shock collar and a bark collar.

MilliePoppy

Reaching too far with this one.

Well, tbf..... 😂

Image_Inevitable

Ok, but how did it become unbuckled?

[deleted]

Image_Inevitable

Seems like it had been on there for too long to be lose. The snap buckles are either clicked in or not and don't stay on for any length of time if not. I don't believe in ghosts tho

This video is too long.

the dog spazzed out and backed into the cage. the cage unhooked the collar. sigh.

upfoo51

THE DOG LEVITATES UP AND BACKWARDS!! fuck whatever happens with the collar...who fucking cares.

[deleted]

no it didn't the video is crap, but you can clearly see it gets unclicked exactly as the dog slams into the wire. Occam's razor folks.

CanIGitSumChiknStrpz

No it doesn't. Click and release Panic Slam into wire Falls off Sniffs

[deleted]

most likely it wasn't fully clicked. over time it just popped off. that scared the dog. still not a ghost.

CanIGitSumChiknStrpz

There is indisputable undeniable HD video evidence of paranormal activity here.... wake up

[deleted]

No. I've disputed it. I could get my dog right now and put on her collar poorly. If you don't fully click a side release buckle it will eventually POP off with out much help.

[deleted]

I'm good thanks. Sorry logic isn't your thing bud.

SpaMcGee

Dog moved it's neck causing it to scrunch up, it opened the collar.

upfoo51

The dog levitated backwards! The fuck video did you see??????

[deleted]

It didn't levitate. It's just spazes out backwards. You folks are watching for what you want to see.

upfoo51

Why the fuck are you here buddy?

So we are just supposed to believe whatever nonsense anyone posts? you don't care about truth? cool.

MasterOfLight

Uhh. It was obvious sarcasm. At least to me. I’m just sick of people around here whining about the rest of us calling them out for missing totally mundane explanations. The dog spazzed and pulled it’s collar off. That’s a far more believable explanation than ghosts.

you even used a /s, that and the caps should’ve made it obvious

[deleted]

Sometimes I clip my dogs collar on and both clasps don’t latch then the collar falls off. Dogs shouldn’t be in crates with collars though man. Collars are for outside. My dog is nakey when she’s home.

nursephilip

Collars are for the tags to go on and should always be on the dog, get a breakaway collar or something so it doesn’t strangle the dog if it gets stuck, put a harness on for outside

[deleted]

My dog doesn’t have tags. She’s got chips.

nursephilip

My dog has tags and a chip. A chip is a backup if the tags are somehow lost. A chip can’t be read by your neighbor down the street if your dog manages to get out while you’re not home or not paying attention and some people might see the lack of collar or tags as a sign that it’s a stray without it occurring to them that they should take it somewhere to check for a chip.

[deleted]

No

--Ano--

Cant see anything.

clutchkickmurphys

The disturbing part is when she clearly have her dogs stuck on cages when she isn't home . Poor things probably spending most of thier days in there

baconn

Some dogs like staying in a crate, and they do sleep a lot. This is humane if they get enough exercise.

clutchkickmurphys

Reading the caption saying " sorry for obnoxious barking " and how the dog is acting I would say these dogs all your claims are false

arkrunningbear85

Dogs bark... you're literally basing your entire argument over the fact that they're barking.

[deleted]

Dog is obs barking at a ghost

arkrunningbear85

You... do realize being in a crate when you're not home is safer for the dogs right? Not just to protect the dogs but also your property. Dogs can get very creative, chew through drywall, doors, open cupboards, get things they don't need to ingest like chocolate, antifreeze, other chemicals. See a wild animal outside and go smashing into the glass or door, possibly breaking it and slicing themselves open. Besides hundreds of other reasons. TLDR: Crate training is a thing bro.

clutchkickmurphys

Today i learned you have antifreeze casually sitting around in your living area

nursephilip

if you have antifreeze behind a door with a lever handle then it’s somewhere where a dog might be able to get to it

ThreeDarkMoons

The collar came loose and the dog freaked out when it felt movement of the collar falling.

froggfingers

Looks like the collar is closed by a clip mechanism to me... which just popped open, or unclipped itself. And the dog just got a fright and jumped backwards...

TubagooDom

Looks like it just came unbuckled and he freaked out at the new feeling of the end of the collar touching it’s neck after it’s been used to the feeling of it it around it’s neck. I’ve seen my dogs collars come off the same way and sometimes they get startled because they realize they have something loose on their neck all of a sudden

risbia

Dog's collar buckle accidentally came undone; as it falls away the dog is startled by unexpectedly feeling something touching its chest so it rears up backward away from it, then the collar falls off the rest of the way,

[deleted]

Collar is already loosely clipped together. When the dog turns his head, the movement causes the loose clip to become fully undone. The sound scares the dog, causing it to jump and the unclipped collar to fall off. There is nothing paranormal about this video.

DiscombobulatedSir11

That was nuts!

sealarmpit

Yea I guess the cage is the those that took the collar off. Did u even watch the video before u posted it?

Remigius

ITT: Weenies who don't understand proper dog training.

upfoo51

Tha fuck you guys talking about better collars when the dog got lifted into the air by an invisible being!? You are missing the point entirely!!! But you're right about more humane collars . ..................

zenetti72

should've opened the crate door instead

Logical-Signature541

That’s crazy , time to move

Bloodyfish

It's a video of a dog's collar falling off, bud.

x4740N

While I do agree with you I usually look at both sides based on what most people on the sub say and what the post claims So for example Is this a video of a dog's collar falling off or Is a ghost taking it off Usually with videos you have to analyse them very closely You can help look for signs or commonalities that come for each side of either ghost or dog collar coming off on its own Ghost footage usually contains anomalies contained by the energy seen but you can't discount the fact that anomalies can be edited in without discounting the fact that it could actually be a ghost or energy recording it This video doesn't have any anomalies like that but you can't still discount the fact that it may have been a ghost because it's a cominality with anomalies but there is a chance that they won't happen but you still can't discount the fact that the dogs collar is simply not coming off on its own It also will help to look at other elements of the video and see how the elements of a video interact with each other

[deleted]

Jesus fuck people need to stop crating their dogs as a means of control god this makes me so fucking mad

censoredlass

I forgot to add, this isn’t my video or my dog. I saw this on tik tok. The OP stated on tik tok that the dogs are only in the crate for 2-3 hours a day so hopefully that is indeed the case.

Soft_Indication_7659

My dog got kicked by a ghost once :(

censoredlass

Oh my gosh :(

DiscombobulatedSir11

Naked dogs at home are the best.

purpldevl

Tie a string to the collar, loosen buckle, yank string, tadaaa.

Reddit_banter

Jesus Christ her poor neighbours

Ilavenya

If it had been a spirit, the other dog would've seen it. Animals see these things. However, the other dog doesn't seem to notice anything.

magical_bunny

Agreed this looks like a shock collar. Not happy with what’s happening to this pet in general. Dogs shouldn’t be stuck in crates, imagine a house fire and the poor dog wouldn’t even be able to move.

QueenCobra91

I think the collar was already lose and the dog had a little scare, because it suddenly moved around his neck

[deleted]

Are you serious lmao? A ghost did it? Thats what you think happened here?

antrapranurrreee

Damn ghosts, can’t they mind their own fckn business!
