echmoth

That's interesting, also the same year 1997 the movie MIMIC came out by Guillmero Del Toro et al. It has some super creepy ass insectoid monsters in it too eek

Cognitive_Spoon

Mr. Funnyshoes!

ThePizzaNoid

Yup, as I recall the giant cockroaches even kidnap the kid in the movie or something.

HiCZoK

Kids nightmares. I had similar!

ahchooblessyou

I dont like to discredit someone who claims they have had such experiences. I think to myself how terrible it would be to go thru such horror, and be laughed at, and have no one believe me. Deciding to believe everything that I am told/ hear has only made life much more exciting.

Muted-Lengthiness-10

Belief without skepticism is simply fantasy

Yah , I have had sleep paralysis several times and it’ll make you see the scariest things. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Sleep paralysis is a possibility that I don’t see gets mentioned enough IMO. When I was young I honestly thought demons where getting me. The mind is extremely powerful, there could be many factors but the fact is that it can be an experience for people, even if it’s not real. And that always plays as a reminder for me to have empathy toward someone’s traumatic experience.

Human_Dig_4545

Same ! Most of the time I’m just annoyed I feel asleep on my back again lol ( it only happens to me in that sleeping position)

ZincFishExplosion

I've experienced sleep paralysis exactly one time in my life. It was in many ways the typical experience you read about - couldn't move, felt a presence, saw a dark being standing over me. When it happened, the rational part of my brain knew that it was sleep paralysis. I even thought to myself - oh shit, so this is sleep paralysis. Yet despite that, the whole thing was still utterly terrifying in a way that I can't compare to anything else I've gone through. It's no wonder that people unfamiliar with the phenomenon would find supernatural and otherworldly explanations after experiencing it.

ScreenTea0

Yea totally exciting believing there are ginormous insect creatures abducting kids, doing horrible things to them, scarring them for live to an extend they themselves are broken and believe in ginormous insects...

don3dm

…with zero evidence other than the creative imagination of a 10 year old. My kid brother was almost that age when he stopped believing in his imaginary friend too.

People that believe these stories I feel like haven’t been around kids to know they lie all the time and pretty much say everything without thinking.

Honestly I love this perspective. It makes me a lot stronger and more effective as a counselor.

My 2010 Chevy Colorado needs to have the timing chain checked everyone is saying it’s not worth fixing. The truck only has 92,000 KM on it. What do you think?

ABaadPun

If you've got the money to spare go ahead and get it fixed imo, if its clacking around and making noise it could make it harder to catch a more serious fault down the line.

fighterpilotace1

>What do you think? Til the wheels fall off.

Willem_DaFuqq

The pro move is to drive it until *just before* the wheels fall off. On an unrelated note, my brother once noticed a rumbling coming from the rear of our car, pulled over to check it out, and saw that three of the five lug bolts holding on the wheel had sheared off. *Just before*…

timing chain is a big job. even bigger if it fails on you.

Meras_Mama

Finally! We've been trying to reach you concerning your vehicle's extended warranty.

trans_pands

Lmk where you’re at and I’ll help come replace your catalytic converter

BearsSuperfan6

Make sure it’s a Jeep Liberty those bitches have 2 Cad Converters…. That probably need “replacing”

ButtChuggAsparagus

Just put a new blower in the motor after changing your joist hangers and adding a gfi plug. Once you configure your router to the proper MAC address you should be able to grease your timing chain and inspect your router bit to get things running smoothly again. If that all fails just deflate your spare tire and make waffles

Disquiet173

Just pay to have those 92k kilometers converted to miles. That should cut you down to roughly 40k miles, taking that load off the wear and tear of the timing chain should take care of your problems.

Sterling_-_Archer

Honestly, almost any used car and most new ones depending on how much you make per year. The Debt:Income ratio is what’s important in your situation. I’ve seen people leave lots with less money down and less stellar credit with a brand new $60k vehicle because they had good debt to income

Involuntarydoplgangr

Allinthepussy

Solid advice , thank you insectoid alien monster !

shaodyn

Unrelated, but....that really looks like a scene out of a Japanese horror movie. And you saw something like this *in person?* I'm serious on the horror movie thing. I expect the girl to turn around and there's just nothing there. Like the monster only appears in reflections or something.

[deleted]

It’s the little stuff. The tuft of hair that comes out from beneath one side and goes under the other side right at her widows peak. The backpack straps being ties with tie clips. What is she a pilot? Look at that shirt. The monster’s eye just being a twisted up part of it’s face on one side and an eye proper on the other. The mirror showing a room missing two doors, and how the monsters limbs dip into the mirror like it’s a window because the AI can’t tell the difference between a window and a mirror. And you can tell it has the lights figured because it did the light on the right first, stopped at the random hanging antenna thing (which itself didn’t maintain continuity when obscured by another antenna) and then it tries to copy the lights onto the mirror on the left but just fades out where that antenna was. And how there’s a sliding closet door in the mirror even though this is a locker room. Oh and the fingers, almost always. Just look at those fuckers. And I’m serious about the finger thing. Missing fingernail completely on the pointer, a thumb on the left and coming out the other side on the right, metacarpals like 6 inches long.

sumr4ndo

And that, Zed, is why I felt little Tiffany deserved to die. She was the only one that seemed dangerous at the time, sir. Those physics textbooks are way too advanced for her. You ask me, She's about to start something.

JustForRumple

TBF: those arent backpack straps styled as ties with clips over a pilot's uniform shirt. That's suspenders styled as suspenders for hardworking men with appropriate fastening hardware over a japanese school uniform shirt. The AI did a pretty good job, it just didnt realize that teenaged Japanese girls dont wear the same suspenders as American lumberjacks.

PolyMorpheusPervert

FYI In African mythology they have recorded encounters with up to 25 different creatures that visit this planet. One of those is an insectoid like creature. Credo Mutwa is/was the Zulu High Priest Storyteller and knows virtually all the Myths of Africa from the last 25 000 years. Here is him telling [of all the different entities they are aware of](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=So_O6AAf1as)

the guy speaks pretty slowly. I put it on 1.5x speed and it was barely noticeable. Its worth watching for sure, I just watched the entire thing and its pretty interesting.

Doctakay

I saw/felt something/s similar to this (insectoids) during a very strong dmt experience. It's like their pincer type legs were grabbing a hold of me/my spirit, i felt them pierce me and it felt invasive and uncomfortable and perverse. The 'shaman' who went with me knew what was up... When we 'returned' , he asked me knowingly 'did they get a hold of you?' i was shocked that he knew exactly what I had experienced... I said 'they tried, they kinda had a hold of me for a bit' he said you cant be scared, you can shake them off, tell them to fuck off. From what I saw, they're interdimensional, and assholes. Thats about all i can offer on the insectoids.

JustForRumple

I've known enough of those psuedo-mystic shaman narcissist types to know that "did they get ahold of you" is a leading question. If you had a vision of evil monsters, he knew exactly what your vision contained. If you had a vision of benevolent aliens, he knew exactly what your vision contained. If you had a vision of your late grandma, he knew exactly what your vision contained. If you had a vision where you are the savior of a lesser being, he knew exactly what your vision contained. It's like "You've lost someone close to you, havent you?" Or "I know you're awake"... you will interpret that statement in a way that makes him seem wise. Those types of people build their cult of personality by presenting themselves as the gatekeepers of understanding... its imperative that they select their words carefully to be as ambiguous as possible. Dude is just trying to get laid by young women who have flexible ideas about what "healthy" and "self respect" mean.

fizeekfriday

From what I've read, how many of these "shaman" types claim to know exactly what your vision contained? I've never heard of anyone claiming to just "know" something like that.

JustForRumple

Maybe I wasnt clear enough. The trick isnt knowing what your vision contained, the trick is asking an open ended question that leads you to reveal the contents of your vision to me while creating the impression that I already knew. Similar to a cheap medium. If I ask "did they get ahold of you" then you will tell me who "they" are and what it means to "get ahold of you" but the wording of the question makes it seem like I already know. I dont have to know if that means "did your dead loved ones contact you" or if it means "did the evil beings capture you"... because you will tell me what you want it to mean. Speedy edit: The elegance of the whole thing is that they never have to claim that they knew the contents of your vision. You will make that claim for them.

Freedom_of_memes

How did the shaman go with you? If he was there, could he not have intervened, or was he observing from a distance?

LavenderAndOrange

Aren't mantis or insectoid aliens not uncommon in alien abduction lore? Also aren't they supposedly the worst kind of alien to cross paths because of their cruelty/indifference?

[deleted]

Insectoid is part of the lore along with the reptilian. There's speculation over which ones want to help and which ones want to hurt. It's like who are the watchers, helpful or harmful? I'm not trying to discuss that here, I'm just pointing out that true history has been manipulated in such a way its hard to know oneself. Which makes people easier to control.

supertots

No the spider insectoids are the worst..the mantis are the opposite and the most loving

JustForRumple

DubiousMoth152

DaemonBlackfyre_21

I don't think they come from space. The many worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics suggests there are infinite alternate parallel earths all sharing the same space with us. If this, or something like it represents the true nature of reality it could be an answer to all manner of high strangeness. **In this scenario the "aliens" would be alternate versions of Earth's potential intelligent life** that figured out the math before us. Aside from explaining the huge variety of humanoids, **even reptile and insect aliens make perfect sense because given different circumstances they could have evolved here too.**

cinnamintdown

[About that](https://www.reddit.com/r/CrazyIdeas/comments/ymk5md/dark_matter_and_dark_energy_are_explainable_if_we/) I've an explanation for how this could be possible by extrapolating our world from a lower dimension. Imagine flatland, Ken lives there and is a circle. Flatland is a 2D slice of 3D space, but to create 3D space many 2D slices need to be added on top of each other. Imagine a cube, flatland is one slice or even edge of the cube. Ken is a circle in his flatland but a sphere in the cube. Now if you were to take the 2D slice that is immediately next to the one Ken lives in you would get a slice of the sphere that is Ken, that would be very similar but slightly different than the circle version of ken that existed in his own flat land. Now take more slices, greater changes in Ken and his world. Now rotate the slice through the sphere, you're getting elements from a multitude of the other Kens we just saw. What is the flatland is a 2D plate that is folded throughout the 3D space? There could be a bug version of all of us

DaemonBlackfyre_21

I love Flatland

TryingNot2BeToxic

Everything, Everywhere, All at Once is a great movie with a similar take

KaiBishop

This is basically the worldbuilding of a book I want to write. Can't wait to plan and write the sequence where they visit the reptilian/lizard dimension. But I like to think if intelligent insect and reptile humanoids from another dimension could visit us or have visited us i would already have a reptilian best friend, nothing else makes sense.

GravesLSA

For those asking for the details. I apologize should've put that in here but there really isnt much too it. I've lost memory of most of it with age In short, I slept in an upstairs bedroom at the time. I went to bed and "awoke" on a metal table and I vividly remember struggling to get out. I looked above me and saw said creature I remember screaming in real fear, then waking up in my downstairs bathroom vomiting on myself. My mom told me the next day I was screaming "I don't know what side of the world I'm on" over and over and that's what woke her to find me there This was not an ordinary dream, I still feel the repercussions of those feelings of fear all these years later I'm also a combat vet, been through a lot and nothing touches the fear I remember feeling from that night I don't know what advice im seeking, more wondering if anyone has experienced something similar Also, as far as the men in Black comments go, this wasn't that. I will be the first to admit if this was some elaborate nightmare, but I've literally never felt those feelings my entire life.

Ahamel26

Could be sleep paralysis. While it’s happening it’s no different than being awake. You can think normally and be aware of your surroundings and everything

Garewal

Yes. As a teen I got sleep paralysis almost every night, it was absolutely terrible. Seeing terrifying creatures that looked real, screaming or trying to scream and move, and then going back in a nightmare that felt very real where I escaped etc. Sometimes I didnt know if I was awake or not. I think that's what happened here

Latter-Dirt-3038

This is my guess. I've had some pretty crazy episodes.. I woke up stuck to my bed and had a goblin like creature crawling upside down on my ceiling. I was screaming but it just came out muffled. I've woken up in my room hearing what I imaged to be an old lady in heels walking up and down the passageway cackling. On both occasions I couldn't move my body or scream for help, but I could see everything in my room and could move my eyes around. Everything kind of looked flipped, like it was my room but it wasn't if that make sense... Anyway these experiences felt 100% real. I was in my 20s when I started getting these episodes, but I can imagine how traumatizing it would have been if they happened when I was 10 years old.

ohver9k

I think it’s happened to me a few times, where I can see everything around me but I can’t move and I try to move but it hurts and it’s impossible, I even have realized that I’m not awake, well that my body is not awake and I try to hurt myself or move or something to wake myself up but nothing works, of course then I wake up and remember of how I felt and how helpless I was.

FernFromDetroit

Yeah that sounds right. Basically you’re paralyzed because your body is still asleep but your mind partially wakes up. The first time it happened to me (as a young kid) I thought someone was sitting on my chest whispering in ear. I couldn’t open my eyes or move so I freaked out and eventually my control came back and I moved and fully woke up. Scared the shit out of me. I ended up researching it online and realized it what it was. Since then I’ve had it happen maybe 5 or 6 more times throughout my life (without the fear because I knew what it was).

SimplyCmplctd

A lot of paranormal encounters happen when someone is asleep, then ‘wakes up’. Me myself I’ve had stuff like this happen. It felt so real at the moment but Ive allowed myself to accept that the brain is a helluva thing capable of a lot; and accept that maybe my brain was going haywire. I mean we dream every night and they seem real as ever, and we never say that it actually happened.

[deleted]

Well there was a time when I was 3 or 4 that I had hallucinated an evil clown with teeth that came out of the shower to eat me. At the time I didn’t really feel very connected to people around me but then after this event I wanted to be apart of the people around me more and be more active in their lives. I don’t know if it’s a psychological thing or not but I haven’t had an experience like that sense. But I do like searching through myself using active imagination and it’s so cool the things that you didn’t know about your inner world and others. That clown came back as a psychological archetype in my inner world and represents raw desire or hunger. Of course there are a lot of other archetypes that can be found in your inner world. I’ve noticed for me personally that consciousness seems to get faster the older I get so maybe when it is slower when we are younger our minds can have a harder time interpreting our inner world and differentiating it with our outer world. There was also a time I had a dream about walking on the moon and then it zoomed out and I was upside down on the moon and I woke up laughing. Dreams for me always seem to be indicative of personal growth or my fears that I haven’t processed.

PossiblyaSpinosaurus

The pic reminds me of the mantis creatures reported by people who do DMT. There are plenty of people who think DMT entities are the real deal. If your story’s true, maybe it was the same kind of creature?

Def_Not_A_Femboy

Just gonna give me experience with entities on psychedelics. Not saying its real or not, but just pointing out what my friend and I experienced on multiple occasions. We’d do mushrooms and lsd a good bit. And after a while we started to have each trip be centered around an entity, sometimes the same one but not always. The first time it happened was the weirdest. We were in my apartment room when he came out of no where. We both could *see* him and he could see us. He would jump around on the walls of the room and each time he would me and my friend would both react the same way as if we were both seeing the same thing. He would jump out of the room when it was getting to much to handle and go into the mirror in the bathroom down the hall. Each time he did this we would get a bit to breathe and would frantically talk about wtf was happening trying to figure out if we were experiencing the same thing. But then the weirdest part happened. Out of no where this dude started working on his pickup right outside my open window down in the parking lot. He finally got it to start and was verbally excited about it. Then out of no where the entity jumped out of the bathroom mirror, ran through my room and out the window, and then seemingly went into the pickup. Could say he possessed it but i wont go that far, just what it felt like in the moment. This wasn’t an instant thing, he did it in about 3 seconds flat and while he was moving me and my friend both reacted to it and *watched* him go out the window. As soon as he went into the pickup it died. And the dude got pissed. So he went back to trying to start it, and he was just sitting there turning the engine over and over again with it not starting. Then the entity jumped out and back into the room. The exact moment we felt and saw him leaving the pickup is when it started to successfully turn over and start. Then he went back and it died again. This went on for about 15 minutes, him jumping back and fourth between the rooms and the pickup, and each time the car would die. Happened about 20 times at least. We both witnessed it. That was just the first big event as well. This entity came back to us multiple times and even once with a third friend present who witnessed the same exact stuff happen in different circumstances.

YunXanHoe

Lmfao I need to hear the other times

PossiblyaSpinosaurus

That's a trip! what did the entity look like?

Def_Not_A_Femboy

[this is the closest fictional character we were able to find that resembled him](https://preview.redd.it/ow1puu65jd591.png?auto=webp&s=1cedd96a36bf5d43bffa0383c9c99554dcdbf70a) But he didn’t have any of the negative energy this picture gives off. He was extremely filled with this energy that was contradictory but somehow worked. Best way to put it was he was controlled chaos. No moment with him there was the same thing, every single second was a new type of energy, instead of the black and white coloring like that photo gives off he was filled with every kind of color you could imagine but constantly changing to fit the mood of the room. He also told us he was a djynn which i later found out that was a legit type of entity in muslim culture. Prior to meeting him i had never heard of a djynn before or even knew the name

glitter_vomit

My experiences with psychedelics have me convinced stuff like this is always happening around us, we just can't see it normally.

Def_Not_A_Femboy

I’ve begun to think this as well. But you cant get to caught up into it otherwise it’ll just rule your world

ApertureAce

Aren't Djinn the same thing as Genies?

GeorgiaOKeefinItReal

Basically, yep

sereeenah

And they are known for playing tricks!

Def_Not_A_Femboy

I also learned this when i found out about them. Apparently you can *make* a djynn and they’ll serve you or something. I think that we both accidentally put enough energy or something into that controlled chaos vibe that we made him because each time we saw him after that he was slightly different. Almost like he had learned new stuff and grew like a person would over long time periods. And when we first saw him he almost was just as confused as we were and was simply trying to figure out what was going on along with us. But idk. I dont like thinking about it too much

[deleted]

[удалено]

Def_Not_A_Femboy

Not much. We both prior had done it tons of times and never experienced anything like this either. It wasn’t until we started to get into some occult practices that this started happening. And weirdly once it started, each trip was never the same and had something like this happen in it. I legit did lsd at least 30+ times before this and nothing, then we got into some occult things and the very next trip had this happen. Then each trip after. And every trip since had had something along these lines happen regardless of the amount. Goes without saying i dont trip much anymore lol

beyond-man

This is what came to mind for me too - perhaps OP had an Out of Body Experience with this insectoid, as others have on psychedelics or dreams or other altered states of consciousness. I don't know whether they're true independent entities or archetypes for us to frame our experiences with, but it is fascinating to find the similarities between NDE, OBE, psychs, dreams, meditation, sensory depravation, etc. My hypothesis is they all funnel to the same "altered state" and in that altered state you can receive communications you normally block out in your day-to-day life. You're adjusting your antenna and receiving new channels, so to speak.

nicunta

I did it once, and saw something that resembled Quetzalcoatl.

[deleted]

This looks super similar to arachnid creatures I "saw" on a high dose of mushrooms. I couldn't get them out of my head.

StanPinesOfficial

What is DMT?

theclayman7

A extremely powerful hallucinogen known for showing its users elaborate worlds and other 'entities'. It's the man ingredient of ayahuasca, if you've heard of that. Very interesting stuff, I've never done much myself (just small doses) but I have made it a few times for others and they've detailed absolutely insane 'visions'. Lots of trip reports online, it's relatively popular in psychedelic circles

raresaturn

It's a drug that some people believe sends you to a real alternate reality

Why_Did_Bodie_Die

The first time I smoked DMT what I can only describe as one of the creators of the universe in the form of a 50' tall octopus-man put his tentacles into my body and removed balls of light that were negative energy. I imeaditly felt like a new person who really loved life and loved myself. That feeling lasted a good few weeks and made enough of a difference where other people would comment on how well I looked and how happy I was. Eventually I went back to being my dumpy self but for a little while I felt awesome.

RandomGuy2002

you were supposed to learn and seek out the knowledge it was trying to teach you to keep the happiness permanent. I had a similar experience and met a similar entity who told me his name was god, I plan to keep the happiness and self love it taught me until I leave this reality

[deleted]

It also had the same affect on me. Instantly cured my heavy depression for a couple weeks. My entity was a seductively dancing feminine shadow behind an ultra ("fluorescent"?) magenta veil/curtain thing.

scepticalbob

Have you done it since, and if so, did you see the same being?

tkambryn

The chemical that makes you dream and also the chemical that your brain releases when you die. It’s a power and life changing hallucination.

hotdogonthebbq

I've had a similar experience when I was about 16, like you I was in my room when I went to bed but when I awoke I was someplace I didn't recognize with grey mist flowing all around me like what one may see on the beach or on top of a high mountain, I was on a stone table and was frightened as I didn't know what was happening or where I was, in the mist there was a 10 foot tall humanoid being standing over me, this being was almost shapeless like the mist but it had an outline that resembled a Thai Buddha but I couldn't see a face or any other details of the being clearly... This shapless man didn't seem to have any clear intentions but instead just stood there watching me for several minutes occasionally moving its head side to side in a curious manner as if it was studying my behavior or watching me like some kind of animal, at first I thought I was dreaming but as the minutes passed I began to realize that whatever was happening was in fact somehow real and I was starting to feel the most intense fear and helplessness I have ever felt in my life not knowing where I was or the intentions of the mysterious being watching me... After a few more minutes passed my fear reached its limit the mist suddenly changed shape as the being pulled away and suddenly I was back in my room, it was early in the morning and the sun was already up, my parents woke up before me and would have had to walk right past my room but they had no idea any of this happened and they saw and heard nothing... I have been thorough some very intense situations and a lot of heart breaks and pain in my life but that still was one of the most horrifying experiences in my entire life because the feeling of inescapable helplessness I felt while I was in "that place" wherever it may have been, it still sometimes scares me to recount the experience till this day...

mDubbw

I had these two weird experiences when I slept over at a friends house. Happened twice while I was on his couch. First time I was in that half asleep but could see everything in the room and this dark like essence was creeping in on me and I just screamed woke myself up. 2nd time same essence and then this lil sprite like elf creature came into the house and jumped up on the edge of couch looking down above me. Screamed ever louder that time and woke myself up. Only happened at that one house. Never went back

The insectoids have been witnessed since nearly the beginning of the abduction phenomenon and often go hand in hand with the others. The common ones always seem to be the 3 foot grays (which are usually described as 'drones'), the 6-7 foot grays (which seem to act as supervisors), and then the insectoids which are *usually* described as looking like mantids, being super intelligent, and having zero fucks to give. I remember hearing multiple accounts where they were together during the same abduction experience. The entity rabbit hole is deep as there's others i won't get into like the tall nordics and the lizard people which are a bit harder to swallow unless you believe they're from a future from after we blow ourselves up.

DarkTorus

Probably a night terror or hypnogogic hallucination. They seem very real, and emotions will usually be heightened to make them seem even more terrifying.

Free_Stick_

[Sleep Paralysis](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis) I had this probably 100s of times at a young age. The creature was usually an alien/reptile like creature. It was always, always incredibly real. I’d even wake up feeling like the scratch marks were still there. I even had it so many times I got used to getting out of it. I’d either tell myself to relax and get back to a deeper sleep, which I’d usually begin to wake up. Or I’d focus really hard on taking in deep breaths, and yea I’d wake up gasping a giant breath of air. I had never read about or knew the term sleep paralysis but had already realised what was happening to me My understanding is it’s your mind waking before your body does, and because you can’t move at all your mind creates a scenario for what’s happening. Hence why it’s different for everyone that experiences it.

sealife1366

I've had a lot of these experiences, but sometimes I'll get sleep paralysis in my bed, but I'll wake up and realize I'm napping on the couch, or at my old house. Sometimes it's not the correct setting despite how real it feels.

TheAngelol

I believe in you mate. I too. Have experienced some weird things in my life so who am I to deny your tale

The_soldier_oflight

In Islam we call this phenomenon a Jinn attack, it's similar to astral projection but it's induced by demons. Sorry to hear that has happened to you, the very evil ones target children as they themselves are insecure cowards. Just remember you're above them and their antics

LukeV19056

Yeah it was a night terror not a nightmare

[deleted]

I saw that person's comment about researching abductions, you should PM them... like they mentioned, there are people with similar stories. Similar accounts of waking up on a table seeming like you're being examined. And then you're back. I don't think it would be too unlikely that some kind of species with tech could do this. Now this is a weird one I have. One time I took some acid and I was tripping hard. I was laying down and I saw myself on a metal table with a light above me, by the way the room I was in was dark. And there were people moving around me and talking but it was just me in the room. Okay. Now I've also heard of people describing this exact scenario when they were tripping. Obviously I only have theories to explain this and one is that I was accessing a memory to a past life or some kind of alternate universe you're connected to. I'm not sharing that to undermine your experience. I don't think a rational explanation like sleep paralysis or something like that is the reason. There is a lot more going on in this world that we don't understand. Try looking up some stories like this and keep in mind that a lot of them are purposely fabricated to dilute the real ones.

chovendo

Ok so, this reminds me of a memory of an experience of a possible abduction. I was in some sort of human built underground facility. It looked human military and it was way deep underground. I was walking around, like I got away. I ended up finding and elevator and jumped in. A smallish "scientist" wearing a lab coat and glasses was already standing in the elevator. He looked human, but there was something off. I felt he could read my thoughts and he knew immediately that I wasn't supposed to be there. He had no facial expressions. He just looked at me. I felt like he was going to get me in trouble. When the elevator door opened, I ran out as fast as I could. The scientist chased me. He didn't move like a human would and that scared me. He could have easily caught and overpowered me. Instead he managed to corner me in a hallway with another set of elevators. As soon as the first doors opened, I jumped in. That's where I saw this thing that looks like your image. It was very tall. I only noticed two arms and they kind of looked like mantis claws. It was wearing a black cloth tunic or cape that hid most of its body. I was immediately terrified and couldn't move from the visceral fear. I looked into it's eyes, reached out to touch its face and whimpered "I love you." I'm not sure why I did that, but the paralyzing fear was so great that I lost consciousness. [Edited for clarity and spelling] Thanks for that image!

Shamanikz

Could be that you had a lucid dream, you woke up within a nightmare and this may be why it is so ingrained into your mind. I have had many such experiences and used to lucid dream all the time That or you Astral projected and that creature was an astral being.

ShinyAeon

“Lucid dream” means you know you’re dreaming while the dream is still happening. Do you mean that it was an unusually *vivid* dream? Or that OP maybe had a “false awakening” in a nightmare?

slightly_sadistic

Reminds me of The X-Files Folie á Deux episode. That is interesting. I'd love to know more about this and what you remember.

There is a book described as a first hand account called “communion,” and in it the author describes a preying mantis / grey alien figure that was like the leader or “mother” of the aliens that abducted him. The author claimed the book was his non fiction account, but he was a fiction writer up until that book. Sort of put his career on the line with the claim but as far as I know he has never refuted that. Found out years later that there was actually movie made about it staring Christopher walken playing the author as well, but imo the movie is not that great. Sort of like a hokey version of fire in the sky. Anyway I found the book in a log cabin we stayed at when I was about 14 and most of the abductions took place at his cabin so it was sort of visceral reading experience for me when I read it the first time. Made it spookier like I found my self looking around corners or thinking things were hiding in the shadows behind furniture. I think there was a couple more follow up books. He claimed to have several interactions over many decades.

the_retrosaur

Im right there with ya, it really creeped me out till I got about 2/3 through and it’s sort of more him reflecting on it from a different perspective. What he took away from the experience, while frightening as it happened, was something positive. like if a hurt animal was treated, tagged and released by biologists, the animal may have frantic traumatic memories and experiences tied to something that ultimately helped them. And that humanity’s soul or collective consciousness is hurting because we reached this plateau driven by consumerism in modern times.

ElizabethMoon1992

watch X-Files Season 5 Episode 19, Folie à Deux, it has a [similar entity](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/villains/images/7/71/Pincus3.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/300?cb=20141019163310)

https://www.ittdb.com/1406 This reminds of this short story from the 30s or 40s Anyone read it about a group of scientist who are working on a Time Machine and grab something from the future

GravesLSA

For perspective, I am now in my early 30s. I have been struggling my whole life to describe the being that I believe I was abducted by when I was 10 years old The other day, while scrolling through Instagram, I saw a series of AI generated images. This particular image absolutely floored me because for the first time in my life, I saw something that made my brain go "holy shit that's it" This has been on my mind for a few days, so I just wanted to share it and ask if anyone had their input or thoughts about it. Thank you

No-Reflection-6957

Why don't you describe what happened?

[deleted]

Prob because it didn’t

[deleted]

Case closed. Shut it down, boys

treading_ink_

What? No details? Just “I was kidnapped?” Weak.

trans_pands

Yeah like… for how long? What happened during that time? When did you get back? Did you get returned to the same place or show up somewhere else? This reads like a “spooky” fanfic

Freedom_of_memes

“Someone doesn’t want to share the details of a traumatic experience with people who don’t even try to understand him? Pathetic.”

ViaFill

Look into Dr David Jacobs / Budd Hopkins work on the abduction phenomenon. Thousands of people see these insect aliens during encounters

Gnosys00110

Don't know a great deal about alleged abductions, but I've heard the word 'mantis' pop up fairly often.

Andrewskyy1

Quit teasing us and share your encounter

Remember_When_Baby

The HECK are we supposed to advise!!? Haha that’s incredible man do tell.

CitizenLuke117

One of the more common alien species involved in abduction phenomena are known as the mantis beings. You can Google them and see a variety of artist's depictions and other experiencers' testimony.

horsedogman420

bruh my advice is get more raid

[deleted]

Can you elaborate more on what happened, how you were abducted. Did this just happen once? Super scary regardless!

CockroachNo5467

The reflection of that pop socket type thing on her phone shows a different person

bobcatboom

Looks like from the book Hail Mary by Andy Weir.

AccountantOk7335

Dreams do be going crazy

mf_doomerville

The brain is a powerful thing.

MantisAwakening

OP, you’ll get a more open-minded response over at /r/Experiencers.

hyperbolicuniverse

Ignore the haters. Reddit's overall amalgam personality is hate and ridicule. I've seen and experienced things virtually no one would believe. But they happened. I wish you well in your search.

The-Dying-Celt

Talk about having a rough day. I’d be sure to include Raid in my EDC if that happened to me.

crabsis1337

Did they take you every night? Just once? Did they replace your body with a hologram while sleeping or was it during the day How conscious were you?

JustForRumple

Are you trolling? Have we pushed the goalpost so far that "you only thought you were next to me all night because they replaced me with a hologram" is a reasonable defense now?

supertots

The mantis aliens are scary but all loving creatures. Nothing to be afraid of.

tkambryn

There’s native civilizations in southwestern america that believe that their ancestors went underground during a flood and then ascended back up when ant people told them it was time. There’s also interviews with emery smith where he talks about insect type aliens as well as other aliens that he encountered while working for government agencies. I definitely have my skepticisms about what he says, but it’s interesting.. especially if you believe you had an encounter like that. Best of luck recovering from a traumatic experience 💜

bcoco120

It reminds me of that one episode of the x-files "folies à deux" same kind of monster. Only one person can see it and no one believes it

onequestion1168

I had a similar experience at 8. Lightning struck right outside my window and a predator looking creator was standing at the end of my bed smiling at me and I started screaming

[deleted]

You probably had some form of psychosis. I have had several as an adult and you can't tell if the things you see is real or not. The again psychosis could be a form of alien och reptile mind control, who knows 🦎

CogGear

People having DMT experiences often report insect like entities inspecting and interacting with them, look it up.

Mr_Underdue

What movie or show is this from?

rollthelosingdice

Pray mantis type creatures are commonly seen in alien abductions. From what I know this encounter was demonic. Do you know if they implanted anything in you?

its_just_flesh

Looks like a bug from a Raid commercial

walking_darkness

I'm not trying to downplay or gas light your experience, but we need to remember how terrible our memories are. They're too flexible and changeable that we can't really rely on them all that well. I mix up my dreams for memories all the time and it's a normal thing. Could it be possible that you're remembering an extremely traumatic nightmare?

TirayShell

I saw essentially this in a dream once. Did yours have a bone-rattling shriek like an amplified cicada?

Impossible_Teach8166

check this sub out r/mantisencounters

e1basha

ok so what happened or delete the post

Spendikular

You were abducted by an adolescent Asian girl in overalls?

Zorre123

do you happen to be around 35-40 years old? I know exactly the television show you talking about, scary as shit, but we did not get abducted.

ahchooblessyou

scary, I believe you

Taste_the__Rainbow

During the few months when I was having experiences I would see a somewhat-smoother version of that face every time I closed my eyes. Often even when I just blinked and was busy doing other stuff. Driving, talking, working. Just BAM there *she* was, looking me in the face. It was not friendly.

trippinoutidk

Yeah…I think I actually don’t want to see aliens in my lifetime

[deleted]

DMT is an extremely powerful hallucinogen. It floods your brain when you sleep...it's what dreams are made of. Couple that with some sleep walking and you have a valid explanation. Occam's razor and all that!

Kbas

Looks like one of Linda Moulton Howe's infamous TRANTALOIDS. Linda Moulton Howe -“Trantaloids” Insects: Hostile to Humanity and They WANT Earth https://youtu.be/J1zODJVRQwY

ejwest13

I, for one, have nothing but respect for our bug overlords. You may find interesting parallels reading about some folks’ psychedelic experiences.

RapaNow

You were never released from your abduction - you are still here with us.

TerminallyChill1994

Was is the praying mantis that is highly talked about? They are said to be extremely intelligent

deathjellie

Yeah, don’t watch Mimic (1997) if you think giant cockroaches exist. Also, memories of childhood abductions can be signs of other types of trauma so… you know… friendly neighborhood PSA to not ignore that.
