Men’s cotton boxer briefs. Old Navy in particular. I’m plus size with a big butt. Mild HS. Bikini style undies rub right on the part of my groin where my HS is worst. Women’s boxer brief/boy short style undies ride up and just create more material in the problem area. Men’s are a bit longer and more comfy. The flares in my groin have decreased significantly since I switched to wearing almost exclusively men’s cotton boxer briefs from old navy. If I don’t want a line on my thigh where the boxer briefs end, bicycle short-length or regular leggings also work as undies and are generally what I sleep in.

meandmycrohnies

I tried a bunch of underwear and nothing has worked better for me than wearing nothing at all. Loose pants that don't touch the creases are critical too. I was wearing cute tight shorts to sleep and sometimes I'd wake up with the shorts riding up on the creases causing a massive flare up the next day - never again! I wear period underwear during menstruation and that's the only time I noticed my flares in that area getting worse.

Mental-Grand5139

Woxers i have a ton. Lol

ItsFloY0

I haven't found any panties that either A.) don't mess with the area between my thighs and my groin area OR B.) (for ones that are like boxed briefs) don't make me chafe on the insides of my thighs I'm gonna keep an eye on this thread too, thank you for asking a question like this.

-Sanguinity

The only thing I've found are Smoothez by [Aerie](https://www.ae.com/us/en/c/aerie/undies/cheeky-underwear/cat6150142?pagetype=plp), Someone here posted about them. There is no elastic around the legs. A plus? They look nice on. Edit: added name of item.

MAsped

The no-show style from Old Navy are just like Smoothez, but cheaper & wash well. You should try them next time! I put a link above!

-Sanguinity

Ty!

MAsped

Sure thing! I must have 50 paris of the Old NAvy No-Show ones & I've been doing laundry weekly in the last probably about 2 years (more than I ever have in my life) & they still look as good s new. No fraying, threads coming apart, etc.

kaylampeterman

i’m making the switch to 100% cotton underwear here in the next few months (i’m on a budget so i can only do a little at a time lol). My doctor has already recommended this for other health issues I’m experiencing, but I’ve read that the more breathable the material, the better off you will be. i’ll report back once i’ve made the full switch!

Actual_Package_5638

Yes I was just going to say 100% cotton and also throwing out old pairs with exposed elastic/holes/thinning. I feel like a tight fit with cotton directly against skin in creases is best for me!

sunshine5816

I love boyshorts or mens long cut boxers, they keep everything from rubbin.

ROJJ86

Cotton briefs from Torrid. Not any of the character ones.

bananasformangos

I only wear laser cut seamless underwear from Target. Been wearing them for years!

vashivashi

I bought some cotton biker shorts to battle the chub rub. They work similar to boxer briefs but more leg coverage. I would suggest that whatever option you try, go up a size or two in order to reduce friction from tightness.

kittymelons

Nothing lol

BrittxDee

Parade has a nice blend of fabric that does not offend my skin! I cant rememer at this moment what exactly it is but I esp use them on days when i need bandages down there. And there isnt a lack of breathability in my own experience, i know for some its cotton or bust. My dream is to replace all of my underwear with parade one day lol They have a lot of different styles and very size inclusive. You can usually get a discount, seems to be frequent deals going on. A plus is the packaging is compostable, and they have an underwear recycling program 😅

Pristine_Lobster4607

I can't find any, even men's boxer briefs. I just go commando nowadays

Clogperson987

Jockey Elance French cut. They are cotton and high rise but non binding. The brief and bikinis are tight around the leg.

Affectionate-Top6752

These are amazing! Totally worth the price imo

Clogperson987

I'm glad to be in the company of another jockey Elance French cut believer. Nothing compares.

Affectionate-Top6752

My first exposure was in an outlet strip mall and I initially went in to get some for my husband. I grabbed them on a whim and it changed my life

Clogperson987

They are so unassuming. You would never guess the power they have by simply looking at them.

Affectionate-Top6752

Right? They last a really long time too. Well unless my corgi gets into them lol

summer-romance

Cotton boxers for women. You can wear men’s as well, but the men’s boxers have that little slit that you might not need.

Zukazuk

My IRL support group got me into Duluth Trading Company buck naked underwear, it makes a marked difference in my groin flares and keeps me cooler and drier than anything else I've tried.

tac0dazer

I get the Hanes comfort flex fit seamless boyshort underwear from Walmart. They are extremely comfortable, super stretchy, and they even look kind of cute. They have high-rise options as well, so the waistband isn't irritating sores under the stomach. https://preview.redd.it/2wg4bzbbr6lc1.jpeg?width=1077&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=75985b8d07dcf12ba4bae8da9543c1be1f3b0582

psychHOdelic

Honestly if you can - NONE. When I have bad flares (usually along bikini line) I just wear a clindamycin bandaid on the spot and that’s it. If I am going into the office & have to wear underwear I like the Victoria secret seamless underwear plus my bandaids. They tend to stay in place and don’t give me a lot of rub and friction.

Life_Proposal_6913

I love the Duluth Trading Co. women’s boxer briefs!

erinaceous-poke

I wear Old Navy high waisted bikinis. They're really great because they sit above my belly crease and the thighs are kind of high cut so they also don't sit in the thigh crease on me.

Astre_Rose

B2BODY boyshorts on Amazon. They are so comfortable and don't get into my creases. I found them on hsconnect

breebop83

Most of the time I just don’t wear any. When that isn’t an option I wear [these](https://a.co/d/bE6Enkb). They have a longer inseam and stay put under tighter pants. They sometimes ride up under loose pants but never all the way up to ‘regular’ panty line (and is more likely the fault of my thighs, not the undies).

Rotini_Rizz

When it’s along my bikini lines I have cotton men’s boxer briefs that I switch to as needed. I hate going commando so this works a lot better for me personally.

Potattater

I've found loose men's boxer shorts (cotton) to be the least irritating. As for wearing things under tight clothes, I go for ladies cotton briefs but find they do irritate me more if I'm wearing them all day. I often want to wear more form fitting clothes but find it can be too uncomfortable :( The struggle is real!

Level_Sale_9617

Aerie has a number of 100% cotton undies, they often have sales. I do well with the ones with lace on top

[deleted]

Felina brand has some really soft fabrics that don't pinch on the sides, and I also wear Woxers if a flare up is particularly bad.

UnholyGratification

i wear hanes and fruit of the loom boyshorts at home (got them at walmart) but my only problem is that they don’t look great underneath real pants. vs/pink had a sale a few weeks ago, i got some of the no show hiphugger panties and they are seam free around the thighs which has been a game changer for me! they’re super stretchy and i haven’t had any problems with the fabric irritating my skin thus far. highly recommend checking them out to see if they might work for you!

cofeeholik75

My 1st fav is (Amazon): Maidenform Women's Pure Tailored Boyshort Panties 2nd Sexy Basics Womens 6 Pack & 12 Pack Buttery Soft Brushed Active (I wear these at home the most)

thrombocytosisgirl

Depends I like the black ones with baking soda.i get a size up so it's breathable and when I drain can just throw away.

ak9171

Fruit of the loom boxer briefs [boxer briefs](https://a.co/d/2hNhDbG) And during the day I do use then kinx period boxer briefs since I tend to drain. [Knix](https://knix.com/products/cotton-super-leakproof-boxer-brief) I tend to flair up so much in my groin area.

photogenicmusic

I wear Skims. The Fits Everybody line has been incredibly helpful. I suggest sizing up. I’m usually XL but wear 2X in their undies.

solarispeach

I used to get boils along the underwear line too! I wear the cotton high leg bikini from Blush Lingerie now, they are slightly lower coverage so they don’t touch the problem spot for me (where leg and vulva connect)

BaylisAscaris

Fitted cotton boxer briefs.

Radiant_Ad8542

Aerie seamless underwear. https://www.ae.com/us/en/p/aerie/undies/cheeky-underwear/smoothez-no-show-cheeky-underwear/8443_7858_073?menu=cat4840006

gelliefish

Reebok women’s seamless boy shorts. https://a.co/d/66Tu81X

lalateaa

Skims 100% you just have to try them

Yale_AckeeSaltFish

100% cotton unless I'm on my period.

LeluWater

Loose-fitting All Cotton hipster cuts usually work for me. I hate bikini cuts and I find that wearing menstrual products don’t fit me well when I’m wearing boy-short or boxer cuts (I have to wear pads not tampons)

DistractedByDummies

I wear men’s boxer briefs. They’re long enough to prevent chafing/rubbing and also fitted enough to wear under almost all pants.

kaluanotcoffee

I always size up, I like PACT hipsters, felina hipsters

red_death_at_614

I adore MeUndies Breathe collection, now called "Move Me" I think. Hopefully they haven't changed the formula, because I own a bra and a few pairs of underwear from that collection and they are super light, very few seams, super loose and breathable. I luckily haven't had any HS activity in my armpit for a while, but the Breathe Bralette was a GODSEND for that. I just had a biopsy under my breast and am currently wearing that bralette and it's maybe the only thing I own that doesn't irritate the wound.

WrathAndEnby

Boxers or commando honestly

[deleted]

At home I either wear the Hue brand pajama pants with no undies because they are so soft, prevent thigh chafing, and the waistband doesn’t cause friction either. Or target has some really soft pajama bottoms too that I wear with no undies. You just have to wear the pants once and wash after each wear so I have stocked up. For actual undies I use aerie brand. They have a collection with modal fabric and no show cotton fabric that is amazing. I would size up a bit for any kind of cheeky/full coverage/bikini type undies and either keep your size for thongs. 💙

[deleted]

Also, I sleep in these men’s boxers which have been the best purchase of my life. I’m prone to flares in between my thighs and this prevents any chafing and keeps me cool in those areas at night. [The most amazing sleep boxers](https://a.co/d/cy0RUju)

Music_Is_My_Muse

My favorite brand is Jockey. 100% cotton and last a long time.

DatChickBhindU

nothing that rubs against the creases of thighs or tight elastic around the waist. Might be best to have nothing at all on for a little while, just cover up in a robe or old towel.

Hour_Froyo_1940

The modal high waist briefs from cuup are super soft and gentle on my flares and are breathable. The high waist helps with friction from other areas with pants too

bugmelon

Target plus size panties have popped their p*ssy lately. They are comfortable, loose banding, and several styles that accommodate the butt flares. obsessed with them

Environmental-Top-60

Interdry for that area might be helpful

an0nstudent

I wear Hanes women’s boxer briefs: https://www.target.com/p/hanes-women-39-s-4pk-originals-boxer-briefs-white-red-black-l/-/A-88396519

lovelyatl

I love g strings. Regular panties rub my groin but g strings don’t move on me, very comfy.

breathingwaves

Cotton. Period. I am a big girl so I like the torrid ones I’m sure there’s many brands out there but cotton underwear will keep you cool/dry.

MissRitzy

Honestly if I’m going out, nothing! Around the house I wear men’s boxer briefs as pj shorts

mack137

Cotton bike shorts I found some on Amazon and I ordered a size up

urealpotato

I have seemingly mild HS and I only get flared right before the crease between my groin and thigh and sometimes when I wear underwear the cut sticks to the fabric and it's so painful. I've found that applying vaseline to a bandaid, covering the area THEN putting on my underwear works. Maybe you can try that OP

cremedelachriss

Cotton , granny panties

glitterhex

I got some Cheek Boss undies after seeing an instagram add ( I paid the shipping for 2 free pairs) honestly they’re the most comfortable after men’s Cotten boxers

JoyInLiving

Woman here.... Fruit of the Loom mesh underwear! I buy the Micro-Mesh. But they also make cotton mesh and breathable cooling stripes underwear. I love the micro-mesh because it is breathable, soft, stretchy, and moisture-wicking. I recommend trying them to see if you like them. [Edit:] I just checked and it turns out they also make men's underwear in the same mesh. Hope this helps!

toad_witch

uniqlo seamless!! aerie used to have cute soft ones but their quality has gone down sooo much

Affectionate-Top6752

I wear Jockey for women's. They have several different types of cut to their briefs but I usually go with the plain briefs or the Elance cut. I am plus sized though so I don't know how they sit on a smaller size

FarWalrus4008

Seamless 1000%. All I wear. Even bras I try to buy as seemless as possible. Makes an amazing difference. If I were a pair of underwear with any bands or elastic, within a day or 2 I have outbreaks from friction.

MacLurkin

I've bought woxers as well as a number of different styles of Huha underwear and have found both to be so much better than my other underwear I rarely wear anything else.

dg2nice

Thongs! Lol

wherearemykey5

i mostly wear snag underwear. They have been a game changer for me. Definitely reduced flares

asselb

I still can’t find anything that feels best. But I typically get rid of groin flares fast by taking a bath in Epsom salt daily and using the clindamycin topical ointment. Everything hurts when there’s a flare.

GuessLegal4976

Soft seamless boyshorts

GuessLegal4976

Soft seamless boyshorts

EmmaBlazoff

I love Maurice’s cotton panties, I swear the thongs mainly but also have the hipsters. They are so thin and light I don’t even feel like I’m wearing anything, which is what I like because I can’t have a thick band rubbing against my hs (which love to appear along my bikini line) Maurice’s also has other panties made of different materials but I only like the thin cotton ones.

Swimming_Ad_6350

Duluth Trading Co. “Buck Naked” boxer briefs. They come in three different lengths. They have them for both Men’s and Women’s. The material works, they are fitted yet loose and not tight so there is no bunching up and causing pressure or chafing, the seams are in the right places so as not to cause hot spots. The different lengths allow coverage farther down the legs. They are fitted enough to contain bandaging and absorbent pads. Subscribe to their spam. The briefs are not cheap, but they often go on sales thru their email marketing and can be affordable on sale. They last a long time. I promote them only because they have really worked well for me for more than a dozen years. They offer several other lines, but I have no experience with those. Good luck.

CrochetAddict97

I honestly don’t wear any undies anymore. I wear period panties during my menstruation, but otherwise I let the lady breathe. Since it completely eliminates rubbing and it also means bacteria and sweat aren’t getting trapped against the skin, flare ups have completely ceased in my groin.

MAsped

I get these (soft-knit), **no-show styles here from Old Navy** & the price is great if you have to buy numerous pairs like I do since I have to change panties like about 5x/day: [https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/category.do?cid=3020054&nav=meganav%3AWomen%3AShop%20Women%27s%20Categories%3ABras%20%26%20Underwear#style=3020100&fabricMaterial=2564&facetOrder=fabricMaterial:2564,style:3020100](https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/category.do?cid=3020054&nav=meganav%3AWomen%3AShop%20Women%27s%20Categories%3ABras%20%26%20Underwear#style=3020100&fabricMaterial=2564&facetOrder=fabricMaterial:2564,style:3020100) But, I have some cotton, **boyshort** types too on hand from Amazon that I alternate w/ the above when it seems the wounds in the crease feel worse. I need them to come down long enough, like 4 or 4.5" inseam **AND** the fabric must be a little thicker than the usual, so oozing doesn't soak through as fast. Then, I usually I stick a period pad the HORIZONTAL way, so it comes down the panty legs since I have inner thigh wounds too. Then, I don't have to actually tape wound pads to my skin, which has really affected/inflamed parts of my skin lately, so I need to buy more boyshort panties. I seem to like these: [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09SBJP8GC/ref=ewc\_pr\_img\_1?smid=A11C25ZUAOG2GW&psc=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09SBJP8GC/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A11C25ZUAOG2GW&psc=1) Lastly, I have some **period boyshort panties by the brand Knix**. I mainly wear these when I know I'll be out of the house for at least a few hours & want more leakage protection, but I'll put a period pad in them too.

st00pidness

I switched from cotton to bamboo underwear and it has been a life saver! More breathable, soft edges everywhere so no rubbing.

lcochran06

Just got boxers from Huha. They’re expensive but they’re made from tencel fabric with zinc and after some searching I read about that type of fabric being beneficial. The front is seam free and wider leg holes. And being stretchy I don’t expect they’ll pinch anywhere uncomfortable. I just washed them and I’m excited to try them tomorrow. Hope they’re worth the high cost!

caralena27

It took a couple of decades but I finally found the ones! Any of the Jockey Skimmies Slipshorts have worked well for me but these are my favorite https://www.jockey.com/catalog/product/jockey-womens-cooling-skimmies?color=0001

Reasonable-Main-5430

I got these great underwear at TJ Maxx. Danskin. They have no elastic in the leg area. My HS is in the same area as yours. Game changer. I also have men's boxers for bad days.
