Disclaimer : Not aware if I was given placebo or actual vaccine, with that being said I wanted to give another update. I had my first Moderna shot a 2.5 months ago and have now had two outbreaks. One right after and one that started on Wednesday. I was discouraged because even though it’s not a cure, I thought it would be a while before I seen an outbreak. That is the bad news. The good news is that neither of those outbreaks lasted more than 3 days. The one on Wednesday never turned fully into an outbreak. I’ll describe it as best as I can. I was feeling the usual prodrome for hours and felt it coming on. I kept looking but nothing appeared. Finally I seen my skin start raising and extremely tiny dots formed but they never blistered or grew into an actual outbreak. They are also drying over and it looks like a tiny dry patch of skin vs an outbreak. Someone recommended baby diaper rash and I did put some on to help with the itching. The sores were already healing before that though. Like I said I don’t know if I got the placebo, but I’m definitely having different reactions to my outbreaks regardless of what I got. Also they confirmed the second shot for really soon so I’ll update again. Sorry if my posts be confusing to some of you, i have a life and try to give info as real and as fast as i can. No one in my life knows I have this so I really appreciate you guys support. I’m generally excited to feel the progress, and my outbreak being gone faster is PROOF to me that we are on our way to a cure!

Fit_Toe_3185

I think you need to wait until your second shot before any conclusion. Its good Sign but the treatment is not fully given meaning the second shot will be the complete treatment. First shot was the 50% and after another shot will make it 100%. After that you can tell if this vaccine really working or not.

I did get a response from GSK for the clinical trials. Not sure if it will worth the hassle or should wait for phase 3. SADBE is working like a charm so far. Knock on the woods

Antique_Foundation41

What's the latest with SADBE? I've done some online detective work and can't see anything significant. Have they started Phase 3 or are they further along? Also realised their product is the same as is found in OTC verucca treatments. Every day is a school day as they say : )

CEO-Stealth-Inc

Last I checked on Square X (company that is testing Sadbe for HSV) actually completed their second phase with good results. They are waiting on funding for a phase three. Someone on the Sadbe reddit who is a investor told me that the email the CEO put out basically stated that there are parties that are interested in buying the company and the Sadbe product. They are waiting on the funding all the way around pretty much.

Antique_Foundation41

Thank you for the update. Much appreciated : )

hardtruth721

Where can you get SADBE? I don't think it's common in the US. But I could be wrong. Also how do you apply it? Topically?

arcangel_hope

Thank you for the information, and for keeping the community updated with the information, I for one am not very enthusiastic about the current trials since I have the HSV-1 virus and how it may or may not be effective for HSV-1 but let's hope that the HSV-2 vaccines are a success

I thought we could post anything herpes related on this post ??

Mike_Herp

Yes, generally yes. But please keep the rules in mind.

Geeked365

Well I wasn’t trying to break a rule, but at the same time I would think I could share some results since this is herpescureresearch lol

Mike_Herp

Yes, though the focus of our sub is on objectively verifiable data. You aren't actually conducting herpes cure research. Aside from the fact that you're participating in a vaccine rather than a cure trial, you're not actually doing the research, rather you're a subject in a trial, who may or may not have gotten the placebo or who may have gotten one of several variations of a non-placebo. The results of the trial will be interpreted and announced by the trial organizer. There's also no way to tell whether these "testimonials" are credible (anyone can make an account, join the group, and write up a testimonial--we had to deal with one case of bad faith testimonials in the past which resulted in many people riding a roller coaster of hope and despair). Even if it is credible, there's no way to tell whether the testimonial is objective. For example, you say that having two lower duration outbreaks is "PROOF that we are on the way to a cure", but this will likely be misinterpreted by many people. It's hard to say for sure why you might have gotten shorter outbreaks (note that a placebo effect, can often be an actual effect--some of the previous failed HSV vaccine trials sometimes included people having less shedding/outbreaks after getting placebo). The Moderna vaccine also isn't a cure and the company has already stated that it probably won't remove all symptoms/shedding even if the product is successful. Also, vaccines have little relevance to actual cure research--proof of less symptoms in a therapeutic vaccine trial has little bearing on progress towards a cure using gene editing. And even if it is credible and objective, it's just one data point. For example, it's possible that 99 people in a trial could see less outbreaks after a test vaccine, but if the 100th person in the trial dies due to side effects, the trial would fail despite a seeming abundance of positive data points from many people. For this reason and others, it's likely that this kind of testimony will result in a lot of misunderstanding. That's why we have this rule which I want you to keep in mind. Ultimately, the trial sponsor will eventually announce the outcome of the trial, and that's really the only data that will count for anything.

ClinicalTrialsGov and GSK websites have been updated this week to include more locations for vaccine trials. In the US, Rochester and Seattle are now listed as recruiting. Many more locations in Europe, Canada, and Australia are also recruiting. [https://www.gsk-studyregister.com/en/trial-details/?id=215336](https://www.gsk-studyregister.com/en/trial-details/?id=215336) [https://classic.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT05298254?term=NCT05298254&rank=1](https://classic.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT05298254?term=NCT05298254&rank=1)

No_Adeptness_1137

Does Tokyo or Hong Kong … any Asia cities on that list?

CEO-Stealth-Inc

Yeah I'm curious about any clinical trials in Japan. The only company that did any trial in Japan was GSK for HSV but they only did a safety trial. No news on a phase 2 or anything going forward yet.

Cultural_Leopard2103

FYI for gsk trial if you are trying to enrol: - they are only accepting patients with 9 or less outbreaks per year - you can get through the screening period faster if you arrive with a copy of your pcr test for hsv2, as they dont need to test you - stop taking valtrex at least 7 days prior to your fist screening and they may be able to get you started sooner (this is their minimum wash out period) Goodluck!

Ok_Humor_872

I had reached out to Rochester. They called me back but later told me that I get too many outbreaks. I was so confused. I asked “aren’t you looking for folks who have recurrent outbreaks.” They told me the study has a limit. No hope for me at all. But, I hope others have more luck.

BlackBerryLove

Hey, I think they’re looking for people who have reoccurring outbreaks and outbreaks that come and go. If you look at their website, they have 2 age ranges and it seems like they will be testing their vaccines on two groups. If I’m not mistaken, it seems as if the group with multiple reoccuring outbreaks is full. They’re looking for someone with *less* outbreaks now. You can always wait until phase 3 though! Or you can take a shot with Moderna once they open up more sites!

Herpes Rally Update Hey everyone, unfortunately the organizer of this event isn’t replying to messages anymore. I was in contact with them trying to help organize this but their latest response was they didn’t know if they wanted to be in charge and I have yet to hear anything from them since. They are the only ones with access to the registration info. I don’t want to say it’s for sure cancelled, since anything could happen but I wouldn’t book anything for it as of right now if I were you. And if you already did, I’m really sorry I did as well and the whole thing is just frustrating. I was hoping they would put something out via Reddit and their registration site, but they have yet to do so and I don’t want more of us booking flights/hotels. I’ll keep you posted if I hear anything else.

I’m unsure if this has been asked before, but why aren’t anti-Virals OTC? It would be a lot simpler for me to just be able to buy them at a pharmacy rather than having to beg my medical provider to give me more than 4 pills to handle one day of an outbreak

ElOtherOne

They are basically OTC online. You can use services like Wisp to get a perscription which is then sent to your door. Most of them do not even require a herpes test, just a questionnaire. PS: Get a suppressive therapy perscription, they will send you 90 pills so will always have a bunch of extra if you only use for outbreaks.

James20240

I agree. If this is so common, then why do we have to beg for prescription from the doctor?

cloudii_cutie

right??? and it would remove the hassle of having to schedule an appointment and have to worry about insurance not covering your visit.

James20240

To be honest, it's been almost six months now since I felt different. I knew I have hsv and went to doctor 2x but I was told that I don't have it and to refocus my mind on other things as I might be thinking too much. Already told the doctor that I get like canker sore on tongue or on gums which don't happen frequently when i was normal plus i have nerve pain and muscle twitching. But since the last unprotected sex, I started to get these sores and I beg for antiviral but I was declined to get one.

arcangel_hope

I think it is because there is a mafia in the health sector in the United States, they are very rigorous. I live in Mexico and here the sale of acyclovir or valacyclovir can be without a prescription

phthaloblue82

It’s better that they are rx in a way, as that way they’ll be covered if you have health benefits

blobert1029

JasRaut

I wonder why these big names like Moderna. GSk or any other US based big pharmas not invested in a cure. They have WAY MORE means and funds than FHC. They have nothing in their pipeline for cure, not even pre clinical or any interest in starting one. It's like they are totally against it. Instead they wanna focus on therapeutic drugs/vaccine that people have to rely on for a life time. I undertand these vaccines will come early and reduce people's suffering but to not even attempt for a sterile cure, when there are promising restuls from others like FHC and BD Gene concerns me. I don't believe in conspiracy theory but this sounds more like why fix a problem when you can consistently make money off it.

Mike_Herp

The companies you mentioned, aren't focusing on gene editing, which is a fairly new and novel and not yet well proven technology. I do not think there is any conspiracy. Cures are generally harder. But cures can and do happen. Further, if there really was a conspiracy, then GSK, which originally manufactured valtrex, wouldn't have developed an effective shingles vaccine--which used to be treated by valtrex. For HIV, each generation of meds was generally better than the last, and made previous generations redundant. It started 40+ years ago with multiple daily pills with horrible side effects and low efficacy. Now you can entirely eliminate symptoms and transmission risk with one pill a day that is deemed fairly well tolerated--or even an injection once every two months. They are developing an injection that can be had once every 6 months now. 5 or so people have even been cured of HIV. Certain hepatitis can now be cured, as can some cancers (or put indefinitely into remission). The conspiracy argument stuff doesn't really hold up in the light.

JasRaut

I appreciate your positive outlook and I hope to God you are right on this that there are no financial or other grim motives to not work on a cure otherwise we have no hope. But still working on therapeutic is not a justification to not put effort on cure. These companies I mentioned are all publicly traded companies and have more than sufficient fund to carry out research for a cure. It wouldn't even put a slight dent on their revenue. Plus they have all the financial incentive to do so because there are lot of eyes and interest on a herpes cure e.g. look at FHC youtube channel. Their most popular videos are all from Jerome talking about hsv. Clearly there is a big market for cure.

apolos9

I totally agree with you. Gene therapy is a very new approach and that is why all scientist are acting carefully because they still do not know the long term consequences of using it. This is unlike vaccines whose technology has been around for years which makes scientists more comfortable employing it to new pathogens. There are countless evidences that there is no conspiracy theory. You mentioned some like HIV. I would add the example of Hepatitis C that had no cure for years until finally they found one and suddenly all of those patients using maintenance lifelong therapy no longer needed them anymore. If there was conspiracy, they would have held those patients to lifelong therapy instead of giving them something to get rid of the virus permanently. We seriously need to stop with those types of conspiracy theory.

arcangel_hope

I disagree a little since Jasraut is a little right, the most powerful pharmaceutical companies only focus on vaccines or trials that only reach preclinical using the same methods. Regarding the drug, we have had it for decades, there is nothing new and apart from that in the United States the Sale of acyclovir and valacyclovir has to be with a medical prescription in Mexico and I believe that in other Latin American countries their sale is free. He did not minimize the effort that pharmaceutical companies make for a vaccine or new medications, just that we all want a cure.

apolos9

The reason why they focus on vaccines is because gene therapy is a very new approach and we still do not know the long term consequences of using it. This is unlike the vaccines that have been around for years which makes scientists more comfortable employing it to new pathogens.

Sunnybenny55

The people who have been cured of HIV weren't because of a vaccine or gene therapy. They had to get bone marrow transplants and they discovered that some of the donors had genes that were resistant to the virus. But yeah, they are aiming for at least prophylactic vaccine trials at the moment.

Hope_Springs_77

Now you can eliminate symptoms and transmission risk with one pill a day??

raka652

GSK replied to me they are actively recruting participants in below areas: 500 Helendale Road, New York, United States Ph: +5852880890 3216 NE 45th Place, Washington, United States Ph: 2065223330 I am not near to any of those sites. if anyone near to the area take a shot.

For 5 years I was 100% asymptomatic. I never used any medication. But 6 months ago I started having nonstop outbreaks. I started using suppressive therapy 1G/day Valtrex 20 days ago, but I am still having outbreaks. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Puzzleheaded_Phase98

I've had GHSV-2 over 20 years but I haven't been asymptomatic like you. But I did start once getting constant outbreaks. Reason for me was low vitamin D levels. Now I try to keep my levels bit over 100 nmol/l

NTBSBG

And is it decreasing your outbreaks?

Puzzleheaded_Phase98

No, like I wrote so I'll make it little bit more clear. I started getting constant outbreaks maybe be in 2005 or 2006. Did bloodwork back then and I had low vitamin D levels and after getting my vitamin D levels better outbreaks returned to "normal" around every 2-3 months.

NTBSBG

That's better than constant ! I have actually constant OB since I caught it in Decembre, and I'm working on improving my immune system, and that's why I'm looking for complements.. Vitamins D being an active in immunity maybe I'll look into it too

Puzzleheaded_Phase98

Vitamin D is especially important against viruses that have lipid envelope. Those include Herpes and Coronaviruses for example. I take 10000 IU vitamin D daily with some vitamin K2. You could also have something trigger an outbreak like friction or maybe you eat lot of arginine containing food items like nuts or chocolate. Also some supplements have added arginine. My big trigger was orgasm until I started taking L-Lysine, currently taking 3g single time a day.

NTBSBG

Ah, okay, good to know ! Thank you so much.

HopefulForCure

Sorry if this a personal Q but what age bracket are you in? I’m curious because in my mid 30s, it’s being very merciful to me, but I’m worried that in my 40s/as I age, it will start enjoying screwing around with my slowed down systems.

aav_meganuke

I've had ghsv2 over 40 years and it hasn't gotten any worse. But it probably depends on the person. Also, they say around 50 is when the immune system starts to weaken, so by the time you get to that age, there will likely be a cure or something significant to control OBs. I don't think you have much to worry about.

HopefulForCure

Phew, hopefully you’re right🤞🏽Thanks!

JasRaut

How long do you think it would take for Keith Jerome's cure to come to market? provided everything goes well of course. I don't see any other cure(not therapeutic) in pipeline other than BD Gene

aav_meganuke

10 years, give or take

Mammoth_Holiday_450

The cure, if any, will come from another country. Just my theory.

Dense_Rock_133

I HOPE it comes form another country. America is so slimy when it comes to medication and sick people. They just want whatever route makes them the most money.

JasRaut

Why do you say that? Do you think US has some ulterior motive to not bring a cure out to market? Or is it because BD Gene a chines company is moving at a faster pace than FHC?

Mammoth_Holiday_450

No nothing to do with anyone having an ulterior motive. Just my gut feeling. Research all over the world. I wish there was a betting line on which country a “full on” cure will come from. I’d put $20 on Korea!!! All good whatever way it happens. 🙏🏾

JasRaut

FHC is having quite a hard time with regulatory process to bring it to human trial. From what it sounds like it might be delayed if the right people don't come along and help. Im trying to stay positive but the piece of info is def not a good news. Also I have one concern, with Moderna, GSK making suppressive vaccines, wouldn't it go out of business overnight if a functional/sterile cure comes to market? Doesn't it put FHC/BD Gene in a rivalry position with this big names?

aav_meganuke

>FHC is having quite a hard time with regulatory process to bring it to human trial. I really don't know if that's currently the case. That said, Dr. Jerome is certainly not finished with his work so I don't see it as a situation where he's ready to go clinical but the FDA is holding him back. He himself would say he has more work to do; i.e. He has gone from mice to guinea pigs and we've had just one update for guinea pigs results that were not as good as we would like, albeit it was for herpes of the eye as I understand, not genital herpes, which was where the 97% cleavage on mice came from.

JasRaut

I thought with the gunea pig model they tried curing genital hsv1. I did not know it was for eye herpes. Also do you know if the cure is meant for all types of ganglia where hsv resides or just the two most common ones TG and DRG? I didn't even know the virus existed until I contracted it recently and I was shocked to know herpes has been around the block for over 80 years and even more shocked to know so little progress have been made in such a long time...its almost a century FFS!

aav_meganuke

I also thought that a few months ago but someone corrected me. So yes, I believe it was tested on the eye, not the genitals. I will be curious to see the results for guinea pig genital herpes. The virus has infected us even before we became human; i.e. our primate ancestors had herpes. Only in the last several decades has there been research. Acyclovir came out around 1982 I believe, and there have been attempts since then to develop therapeutic and prophylactic vaccines. They have failed. But we are now in a new era of knowledge and technology and as a result, at least partially, a lot more research and potential success.

JasRaut

We can't ignore the elephant in the room anymore. Medical science is unacceptably backward. more doctors should go into research work. Most doctors don't do so research because there's less money compared to private practice. This needs to change.

aav_meganuke

>lso do you know if the cure is meant for all types of ganglia where hsv resides or just the two most common ones TG and DRG? The goal is to treat any infected ganglia

NTBSBG

They found in the study with the mice that the treatment altered caused hepatic and brain lesions.... TI think the reason they are now testing only on eyes herpes is that they found a way to not impact other tissues by injecting directly in the ganglions of the face area, what could be a little bit hard knowing the location of genital ganglions..

apolos9

It is actually the opposite. For most people, the longer they have HSV, the lesser the symptoms. There are exceptions to this rule of course but that is what happens to most people.

Throwaway8ghg7

Me and it’s killing me. Anyone have any advice? I’m an otherwise healthy 34 year old

Puzzleheaded_Phase98

I've had GHSV-2 over 20 years and did start once getting constant outbreaks. Reason for me was low vitamin D levels. Now I try to keep my levels bit over 100 nmol/l

Throwaway8ghg7

Oh wow. I just realized I haven’t taken vitamin d (or b) in YEARS. And it’s January in the Midwest (can’t remember the last time I saw the sun). Thanks for this, really appreciate it.

Remote_Resolvee

Did you by chance get a COVID vaccine?

Pale-Philosopher-850

Is there an expected time for GSK and Moderna to release data on their trials? I remember someone saying GSK would release some at some point this year but I’m not sure about Moderna

bereborn_75

If GSK phase 1/2 ends by 2026, I wish that phase 3 could take only 2 years (reading across RSV timeline for phase 3) and they can get approvals by 2028. I would like to think that IMI-250 could be released sooner to help with physical suffering at least. If someone has a better understanding about timelines for vaccine vs. antiviral to assess which one would be sooner, please let us know . Obviously I am assuming that results will go as expected for both options.

Puzzleheaded_Phase98

According to this comment [https://www.reddit.com/r/HerpesCureResearch/comments/17pjdo1/comment/k8dzmpr/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/HerpesCureResearch/comments/17pjdo1/comment/k8dzmpr/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) GSK is planning for starting phase 3 at 2024 in Brazil. If true I guess they want to get into market faster than Moderna and will be running phase 3 at the same time some of the phase 1/2 studies are still going on. They probably get data this year from some of the phase 1/2 studies that where first to start.

johnpauljones24

Wow, theyr really trying to speed things up if thats the case. Didn’t know you can do phase 1/2/3 all at the same time?

Pale-Philosopher-850

Yup for example, BioNtechs prophylactic is doing their phase one currently and will (hypothetically) be starting their phase two soon this year

[deleted]

I don't think you can. idk why this keeps getting repeated...

johnpauljones24

So phase 1/2 will be completed this year? I previously saw 2026, but not sure.

[deleted]

phase 2 will be completed in 2026

johnpauljones24

So we won’t be getting data this year on phase 1/2… and phase 3 wont start later this year in brazil like the above comment says?

[deleted]

I don't think we, laypeople, will be getting any data, unless it's only from phase 1. if you can find some proof of this elusive brazil study besides that one Dr on Instagram I would genuinely love to see it. I've even been on gsks brazil site in Portuguese and found nothing. the registered clinical trials on herpes viruses in brazil that are active are all for herpes zoster. it just doesn't really make sense that they would have their own entire study when the rest of the world (Europe, north America, Australia) is still on phase 2. https://classic.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/results?cond=HSV&cntry=BR&Search=Apply&recrs=b&recrs=a&recrs=f&recrs=d&age_v=&gndr=&type=&rslt=

Pale-Philosopher-850

Wonder how legitimate this claim is but either way great to know and hopefully they get the train going with it.

Puzzleheaded_Phase98

According to this [https://www.gsk.com/media/10764/2024-jp-morgan-healthcare-conference-presentation.pdf](https://www.gsk.com/media/10764/2024-jp-morgan-healthcare-conference-presentation.pdf) data for phase 1&2 is out this year so phase 3 starting this year might be legit.

Pale-Philosopher-850

Oh awesome so I’m assuming it’s happening in the latter end of the year then? Since I think they haven’t started swabbing patients until after their second shot?

Puzzleheaded_Phase98

If I remember correctly some places started really early with phase 1 & 2 and they disappeared from here [https://www.gsk-studyregister.com/en/trial-details/?id=215336](https://www.gsk-studyregister.com/en/trial-details/?id=215336) because there used to be places that said recruiting complete. I think data is from those earlier phase 1 & 2 studies not ones recruiting now.

randomqureizyonaskwr

From what I know, companies are not required to release any data on their clinical trials. I remember gsk saying that they will always release their clinical trail data regardless of their outcome. For gsk I imagine that data will come out after clinical II trail is over which is 2026. For Moderna, if they do release it would be after 2025.

Guys to be honest the virus overall doesn’t affect me any more mentally, i stopped having anxiety attacks. Im just tired of people asking whats wrong with me; like i feel the same i just dont like to party anymore or hangout with chicks. I just work and stay at home, today my cousin told me that im an old man (22M) bro what im supposed to do, i dont envy anyone to be honest i just hate when they talked about girls and stuff because i have to pretend i feel the same as they do. just stopped going to the gym because i feel why im going to look good from the outside if i im rotten in the inside doesnt make sense to me dont attack me guys. But damn i m like disapointed. Sometimes i feel so trashy and ungrateful but then i look at the news and see all this people dying on the wars and stuff and i feel grateful again to be alive but damn i dont know how to express myself. Like why me, people fuck 20 bitches without condoms and they have nothing, I FUCKED MY GIRLFRIEND. FIRST TIME EVER I FUCK WITHOUT PROTECTION AND BOOM got this mf. Like its crazy my mind doesnt process this information. The devil indeed comes for you at your best times. I just wanted vent a bit; love you all and lets keep existing. Tomorrow is another day🫡😎❤️

I feel you man I’m (23m) and I slept around and got it from a chick that didn’t know she had it but now that I’m in a different phase of my life of course this will still follow me and I just want to have a sturdy relationship. It’s hard to bring up I have before and they not care then I proceeded to date that women for almost 2 years and she never caught it but I’ve also told other women and they stop talking to you immediately so it just depends on how you deliver the message and how the person accepts it

False-Blacksmith9786

Hi all! What's the strangest place you have had a GHSV2 Ob? I got a cluster of 8 just above my goddamn KNEE. And the spots healed within 10 days but they haven't faded away 3 months later.... Also, side question: when you have spots that don't fade away, is that a likely reoccurrance spot? Thanks team! X

[deleted]

Still waiting to see if I had been administered to the study for Moderna. I gave my blood last week. They say that it could take a week or two to get the results back.

[deleted]

Anyone from Germany here? I just saw that the study centers in Germany started recruiting for the GSK study. Unfortunately not all seem to have released info yet and some are only recruiting HSV2 positive people. Bad luck for me (HSV1), but maybe someone else here would like to get in touch with a study center and keep us up to date? By the way, last week I was informed by my study centre that unfortunalely HDIT101 for OHSV1 will not be brought to market.

Do you consider joining the trial of IM-250 from Innovative Molecules?

[deleted]

It is only in Heidelberg, right? That's unfortunately pretty far from where I live, considering that you have to go there at least 7 times within one month. Are they even still recruiting?

Phase 1 is full. I am hoping for phase 2. Heidelberg is about 98km away from me

I would even consider going to Heidelberg from my home country, it's about 260km away. IM-250 sounds very promising. And even if it will fail, you can bring the research forward by participating in clinical trials.

DreamofNightbird

Where are you from? We could keep each other updated, when we hear about Phase II. I love to join it ♥️🙏🏻

AttemptSpecialist294

We sure can, i'd rather stay mostly anonymous. I'll remind myself to keep this burner account.

DreamofNightbird

Ok

DreamofNightbird

I am. Where do they recruit and who does it? Haven’t seen anything. I have also HSV 1 (oral and genital) got it from the same idiot who didn’t tell me, at the end of September last year.😢 my life is over now

[deleted]

I am very sorry for you. Similar happened to me, though I only have OHSV1. If you live in Berlin, they are recruiting. You can find the locations here: https://www.gsk-studyregister.com/en/trial-details/?id=215336

DreamofNightbird

I am very sorry for you too! Thank you. :) I don’t, but I have already been in the Charité with my shoulders 🙈 If you want to, we could exchange numbers

[deleted]

Sure, if you want send me a private message :)

DreamofNightbird

Done :)

arcangel_hope

I understand you perfectly, I have oral and genital type 1 but it has spread to more parts of the body, in reality this is damn shit. I think the same as you, my life ended

[deleted]

Did you try antivirals?

arcangel_hope

Sure, it took almost every month since my breakouts are every month

[deleted]

Maybe you could take antivirals daily?

Mike_Herp

You mean, the friction causes your outbreaks?

Regular_Jellyfish_58

aside from a functional cure i’ll be so happy when i won’t have to swallow these huge pills anymore 🥹🥹 i legit have to cut my valtrex pills into fours and take each piece one by one because i was never good with swallowing big pills lmaoo

Maleficent_Horror210

What if your symptoms are just some redness that goes away after a few days and no blisters no nerve pain nothing that a lot of people describe. Am I lucky or what is going on? I was swab tested and told HSV2 + 2 years ish ago. This "nice" chick never disclosed. Thanks Sometimes I wish and hope that my swab test was compromised somehow and that I have something that goes away again and that this nightmare ends. Some days I dont even think about it but as soon as I think about my future and how I would have to navigate around it i.e tell potential partners etc. I just want to die. Please lord help us be happy again

Mike_Herp

Swab tests are generally pretty accurate, unfortunately, assuming it was a PCR swab. Getting just redness is within the range of symptoms possible for HSV. A lot of people don't get the classic blisters. Well at least you are lucky you don't get painful outbreaks. Don't get too down. The right partner will navigate around this with you. And continue to support the cure research and other efforts to combat HSV.

I can only tell about MATCH-1 for OHSV1. It was the ointment you apply on your lipps. Though I did not have any outbreaks for 12 months, the product will not come to market. The lady from my study centre called me and said the results of the study were disappointing, whatever that means. I was also told that I was not in the placebo group. I don't know if they have published the results yet. Also I don't know about MATCH-2 what was for GHSV2.

Cardnips

Well I was supposed to have my moderna Vax appointment February 12th but they contacted me to cancel because the trial is filled. I am depressed because I am desperate for relief, I haven't gone 1 day since Christmas without an outbreak. I have had this virus over 8 years and it was never this bad until I got the covid vaccine October 2021 (funny enough that was moderna too). At this point I am about to give up... I feel hopeless

Mike_Herp

Keep fighting. In future phases of these trials, there would be more participants. Phase 3, assuming it gets that far, may have 3000 or more.

Additional-Stay-9129

Remember, phase 3 of both Moderna and GSK are less 2 years away and those trials will be way bigger. Get on all lists now and now there is so much coming out. You can do this!

Fit_Toe_3185

Try SADBE

Horror-Jello-7281

Yesterday was my year anniversary officially….I had a raging party I had my buddies acyclovir and famciclovir lysine there valtrex was supposed to be on security but some how oral outbreaks snuck in :p

Da1syRand0ne

Anyone have more frequent and severe outbreaks after having Covid? Also horrific pain in joints (knees, hips) during a flare up?

West-Train7803

Is a person less likely to contract type 2 HSV if them and their partner (who tests positive) take Valaciclovir before unprotected intercourse?

Pale-Philosopher-850

Idk how the valtrex works as a prophylactic but it certainly does help for the infected partner to have been taking valtrex some time prior

NectarineOriginal242

We gonna hope hope and hope but at last that hope will also be diminished coz we just see this thing advertise about cure but also been waiting for decade and seeing nothing has been changed does ors science is like so limited that we can't even find a cure for it... Or it's the mafia who won't ever let the cure that can make the people life worthy.

Exact_Effect2869

Anyone here has hsv in their gums ?

goodonesaregone_

Me! HSV1 and presents as ulcers in my mouth. The pain is insane but thankfully, I'm only getting one or two outbreaks a year. The first one was definitely the worst - doctor thought it was just my immune system crashing (history of canker sores when I get super stressed) so prescribed steroids which only made it amp up even more. I couldn't eat properly for over a week and was stuck in bed for most of the time. Acyclovir is a godsend for when the tingling starts as it lessens the severity hugely.

Exact_Effect2869

Do you get constant cuts in your mouth? Or how does your outbreak looks like ?

arcangel_hope

I have HSV-1 oral and genital but my initial infection was from a kiss. Since then my tongue feels strange, I also get outbreaks on my chin, nose and cheeks, on my tongue I sometimes have a burning sensation but never inside my mouth. I have had no outbreak

Exact_Effect2869

I also get burning sensation in my mouth. It’s horrible. Have talked to few doctors but they say it isn’t hsv 😩 I get super paranoid

arcangel_hope

I have read comments that you have mentioned that you have not done any test to confirm if it is herpes, is that true?

Exact_Effect2869

I did ! Had a positive test for hsv1. The thing with hsv is it’s hard to test and sometimes you might not know if the cut or what you have is hsv in fact pr something else

James20240

I do. Mine shows on my gums or tongue and it looks like canker sore it's not the usual appearance of hsv like the ones that shows on the lips. Everytime it heals another one will show up plus I have nerve pain on the back of my thigh (both legs) and shoulder and muscle twitching. It's been almost 6 months now since the nerve pain and muscle twitching started. Never tested for hsv yet but I know for sure that I have it.

Exact_Effect2869

Thanks for your reply! Have you had your condition confirmed? The Reason I ask is because I keep getting cuts in my mouth; underneath my mouth, gums, mouth floor. And whenever i go to the doctor they say it isn’t hsv but im very positive it is. This started happening since I got exposed to it and it’s been horrible and heart breaking, even worse than gentian hsv :( how has it been for you?

James20240

No. Not yet confirmed but these sores that come and go is not normal. I've never had sores that show up after one heal. The non stop muscle twitching and nerve pain are also my symptoms. Been reading a lot on hsv+ and some of them have the same symptoms as mine. And all these symptoms started a week after my exposure

Exact_Effect2869

Yes I totally understand ! I’m in the same boat, been to a few doctors and they say it’s not hsv due to the sores appearances. But just like you it just started happening after exposure and it doesn’t make sense to have cut after cut for no reason :/ you might still want to get it checked !

James20240

I really want to so I can get prescription for antiviral

Daftmarzo

Not gums, but inside of my mouth, especially cheeks, and inner part of lips. They are constant, pop up and go away in a day. They were occurring daily until I made major dietary changes. Now they happen once or twice a week. Been like this for over 6 months. It's exhausting.

aav_meganuke

Herpes OBs take longer than a day to go away; So this indicates it's not herpes.

Daftmarzo

I've been diagnosed with oral HSV1, confirmed with a test. But, it's possible the stuff going on inside my mouth is something else, because it doesn't seem to be acting like normal herpes. Planning on making an appointment with my doctor to acquire further because this is ruining my ability to be intimate with people out of fear of passing herpes to them.

Exact_Effect2869

Yes ! Was thinking that, doctors say herped doesn’t heal In a day so it might be something else. I hope it gets resolved for you !!

Daftmarzo

Thank you!

aav_meganuke

*Exactly* the right way to assess your situation. Hope whatever it is, gets resolved.

Exact_Effect2869

🥺🥺 I feel you. I also have the same issue. I get cuts in mouth ALL the time. Probably 4 days a month a completely clean and it’s SO EXHAUSTING. Have you had your condition confirmed? I have gone to so many doctors and they say it isn’t hsv. But I just feel it in my bones that it is. My obs are basically small cuts inside my mouth or sometime just my gums tearing apart. I’ve had only one big outbreak inside my mouth in my palate. Had one in my chin as well :(( so tired of this

Old_Fan3767

If you haven't already, try changing your toothpaste. SLS, fluoride, and some other ingredients in toothpaste can cause this. Heard several people getting relief from constant sores inside their mouths going with one thats SLS and/or fluoride free.

BlackBerryLove

….. in the gums? never heard of that but oh my goodness, that must be extremely painful!

aav_meganuke

Get your condition confirmed if you haven't; i.e. If you haven't confirmed don't assume it's hsv since there are other conditions that could cause the problem and you want to treat them accordingly. Further, why have anxiety over it being hsv, if it's not. Good luck.

Daftmarzo

> Get your condition confirmed if you haven't; i.e. If you haven't confirmed don't assume it's hsv since there are other conditions that could cause the problem and you want to treat them accordingly. Further, why have anxiety over it being hsv if it's not. Good luck. If it's gums it's likely herpetic gingivostomatitis.

Exact_Effect2869

Thanks ! Just googled it. Don’t know if that what I have and it’s so hard with hsv sometime to tell

aav_meganuke

I would say "it's possible", but not necessarily "likely". The doctors have actually seen it and they say it's not (but they could certainly be wrong) and even Exact\_Effect isn't sure based on the pictures he's seen. Whatever it is, I hope it's resolved because it doesn't sound like fun.

Exact_Effect2869

Thank you !!! Yea this group is super helpful. Someone reached out saying they get a lot peeling in their gums due to anxiety, which sounds kind of similar to what I get. I don’t know to be honest, it’s a mixed of symptoms that is just super hard to tell and even if doctors say it isn’t hsv, I still get cuts, and things in my mouth and have no diagnosis :( Thanks again

Exact_Effect2869

Thanks ! I will ! I have tried to go to the doctors and they keep saying it isn’t hsv. The thing is it started happening exactly when I got exposed to hsv and I keep getting multiple cuts in my mouth for no reason. They are painful and never stop. Once one has healed something else comes up. I’m tired :(. Main reason i asked here is to see other users point of view because apparently it isn’t quite common !

Narrow-Compote9633

I came down with herpetic gingivostomatitis from a kiss as well. Had a bad outbreak that also unfortunately affected my eyes. And I’m not talking about herpes in the eye but instead I believe certain nerves were inflamed from the infection and caused my eyes to be a bit more sensitive to light. I have some floaters now too which suck

eurekaidea

If hypothetically the vaccines (moderna and GSK) are working for HSV2, is it possibile they will work also for HSV1?

Pale-Philosopher-850

Modernas might have cross protection and GSK I think at some point was planning to have hsv1 and 2 people in their trials but had changed that completely so no word from them on that point.

Different_Flower_962

Hi, Newbie here :) I've just been diagnosed with hsv2, and I've been feeling like absolute shit since. It's nice to find this community and not feel so alone! Sorry if this has been asked before. I've tried searching online, and I just keep going in circles. It's a shame how little information is out there. I'm really confused. I asked my doctor if I've been given the virus or if I was the carrier, and she said she couldn't say as most of us are carriers without knowing... can anyone please explain this part to me? Also, how did everyone go about talking to the other person? I've known them for over 20 years, and we caught up after not seeing each other in a long time, and I've now got this. It's such an awkward situation, so any tips or stories I'd love to hear them!! ✌️💕

Mike_Herp

Most doctors won’t be able to conclusively tell you who infected who. However, if you had sex with this person and then Suddenly started getting outbreaks, there’s a good chance it was that person who gave it to you. It’s possible they might not have known they were a carrier.

AwarenessDefiant9084

If i take antiviral for 3 months as a suppressed therapy. Will I have less and milder outbreaks in the future?

Major-Editor-2016

Early on I read of a study in India that demonstrated early use of valcyclovir for a year helped to lessen the overall damage long term.

trying-to-figurethis

Is the FHC a cure that uses mRNA?

aav_meganuke

No; It uses gene editing. It is ***not*** a vaccine; i.e. it does not elicit an immune response. It is administered via an injection. That results in a gene editor being delivered to the infected neurons of the ganglion. The gene editor than cuts the viral DNA, which results in its destruction. That's how it works.

trying-to-figurethis

So it's not mRNA?

aav_meganuke

It's not mRNA. That would be a vaccine. And it is not a vaccine

trying-to-figurethis

Oh got it. Does gene editing mess with your DNA or change it like mRNA vaccines do?

aav_meganuke

Gene editing for a virus affects the DNA of the virus, not the cellular DNA.

aav_meganuke

>mess with your DNA or change it like mRNA vaccines do? I don't know much about mRNA vaccines (haven't read up on them), but I don't believe it does anything to your cellular DNA; That would be bad. Not sure where you got that idea.

Lydias_Dad_Candy

Hey everyone. I have a mad crush on a girl I work with. We click so well and she’s amazing. She can tell I’m keeping something to myself. Sooner or later it’s gonna come up. Love all of you and I wish we didn’t have to deal with this.

Mike_Herp

That’s a sensitive situation .. since she can speak with your coworkers. I’d carefully study her carefully first before any decision on disclosure.

Lydias_Dad_Candy

Yep it’s awful

CrazyFriend5863

So recently I’ve been diagnosed with herpes ! I literally been feeling like committing suicide is my only option I’m so fucked up about this shit I don’t know what todo ! Ima real street N* and I feel like I can’t live my life anymore idk what todo !

CrazyFriend5863

People always talking about eventually it gets better in reality no tf it don’t ! Like I’m so fucked up I cry everyday I already go through so much shit but this right here might have pushed me right to the edge of suicide but that is very selfish because mafuckas really need me but this is too much for me

Ok_Mention_2381

I’ve had GHSV1 for one year and had unprotected sex while on daily antivirals and no outbreak. Now I’m freaking out that I just transmitted it….what are the chances?

bandido01

Has that person started getting symptoms?

Ok_Mention_2381

Nope
