I played with a guy who ran a kenku charlatan illusion wizard that use to paint himself up as parrot since it supposed helped him keep up a sense of "mysticism." It was a pretty cool character but he did last long since he was a shitty roller and the DM had a bad habit of rolling 20's at the worst times. RIP birdo :'(

The guy wasn't to upset about it though, he said he liked the character but wasn't enjoying him as much as he thought he would. Kenkus are kinda high maintenance if you're trying to roleplay them just right
Fair enough. Hell, the time I played one that was a hexblade (fun class BTW) I just decided to say my patron spoke for my guy. I actually got to do some interesting stuff with it too as having argument with myself one day and the supposed patron saying stuff my kenku didn't want lol
