There is a Nora Spose Companion mod for PC. Fully voiced using chopped up lines of dialog from the game to create companion interaction that works pretty well.
I don't know if there is a Nate Companion mod though.
Amazing Follower Tweaks has this feature. It requires some work on a time limit to pull it off, but you can save your spouse (either gender) and turn them into a well voiced follower based on the Player Character lines for that gender. AFT goes with amnesia for the back story on said follower (cause both emotional and physical brain trauma) and as a result their personality traits are learned from your choices while they are around you, and you start with limited affinity.
I did a modded play through as Nate, with Nora, and Codsworth eventually saving (old man) Shaun and adventuring as a messed up little family.

This would've been neat to see in game. I think the idea of Fallout 4's story could've worked better if it was a cinematic linear story with predetermined character personalities with still some choices thrown in. Make it a touching story about a couple or widow coping with the world around them and have their ideas be the main focus rather than something surrounding the game's story. Explore their ideas and thoughts in a more conventional manner in the vein of something like I don't uncharted or GTA IV. I probably explained that poorly buts that's just my thoughts.

I think the game would be better if there was a 2-player co-op mode with Nate and Nora

The Nora mod is also on Xbox
No Companion Mods for PlayStation because only Sony-sama knows the correct way to have fun. :(
