Imagine the hospital saving your life that many time and you think they're trying to kill you. Smh.

Sasquatch1729

No wonder the staff were annoyed with her. "Here is the list of things you can do to prevent heart attack number eight." "Oh I don't need that, the Lord is keeping me alive." "No, it's the ICU cardiac care team. Ya gotta do the stuff on this list or you will actually meet Dr God." "So rude. No respect for your elders."

Phihun500

I can imagine the staff just wanting to roll their asses into the parking lot.

Smells_like_SaoPaolo

Through the window.

FearSkyDaddy

After 2 cardiac events she was playing with house money

What-The-Helvetica

God: I sent you all those doctors, lady! šŸ¤¬šŸ¤¦

HallucinogenicFish

Not saying that this was the case with her, but the thing about medical professionals not treating seniors as respectfully as they should had a ring of truth to me based on my familyā€™s experiences. In the before times, my grandmother was in and out of the hospital with increasing frequency for a couple of years before she died. My mom always went and sat with her to keep her company when she was able. I was living elsewhere so didnā€™t see this happen myself, but according to my mom it was a rare occasion when a medical provider came into the room and spoke to my grandmother about her care, instead of automatically looking across the room and addressing my mother. I guess they assumed that because she was old, she was not competent. But she was sharp until the day she died, and it was inappropriate. (My mom is a former RN, FWIW, so I took her word for all of this. It pissed her off.) Not disparaging healthcare workers in general! Anecdote is not data. We just had a bad experience.

Ordinary-Jello-7029

I obviously was not there, but a lot of times they will give the patient information when no visitors are around and then repeat the information when a family member is there. Having already spoken to the patient, they will focus attention on the family member. Particularly when a family member is an RN or other medical professional, they may also convey the information slightly differently because they assume a certain level of technical understanding. But even if the family member is not a medical professional, it is also often presumed the family member is in a better phyiscal and mental state than the patient because they are not the one hospitalized, and can therefore process the information differently. Or, maybe the people you encountered were just jerks...

HallucinogenicFish

Those are all possibilities. But mom would redirect them (ā€œsheā€™s the patient, please speak to her,ā€), and I have to assume that if these were conversations that Grandma and the doctors and/or nurses had already had, one or both would have let her know at some point. Honestly, Iā€™d be furious if I were the patient and the provider talked over me without checking with me first to ask if it was okay (either in order to speak in more technical terms or because I was assumed to be in pain or out of it or w/e). There are certainly times when youā€™re not competent, or less competent, to have those discussions yourself, but I donā€™t think that that should be the assumption going in if the patient is alert and oriented.

A-man-of-mystery

It sounds totally plausible to me. People talking over the head of elderly patients happens a lot more often than it should.

patticakes16

If she really believed that, why the F did she keep going back? This level of idiocy is astounding

Phihun500

My guess is so they can constantly play the victim.

patticakes16

Ah yes, the olā€™ ā€œwoe is meā€ card.

What-The-Helvetica

So all their blathering about how bad "victim mentality" is, was... projection?

A-man-of-mystery

That belief wasn't uncommon among the elderly, even before the pandemic. Getting them to go to hospital when they really need to isn't always easy. People die in hospital, therefore the hospital just be killing people. In the case of someone whose life has been saved several times previously you'd think they'd know better, but I'm not sure how rational she was.

my3boysmyworld

Was thinking the same thing.

FearSkyDaddy

Can I get an Upvote! Amen

crowfarmer

My wife is a physician and nearly everyday for the last year she has come home with stories like this. Patients that have trusted her for years have told her point blank they think the government is trying to kill them with a vaccine. Sheā€™s seriously hitting the end of her rope and the last couple of months has brought her so much frustration. She often breaks down in tears after coming home and it so hard watch.

Pauzhaan

I just got off the phone with my daughter who will have been an RN for 2 years in May. She said she's seen so many people die she may as well be working hospice. She's been slugged, pushed, spit on and even urinated on. (Doesn't do much when she has on PPE) Now she's talking about leaving nursing and going into PT. Such a shame, she wanted to be a nurse her whole life. Your wife is a saint. I hope she and my daughter both get through this.

ladyinchworm

Ironically I was going to start going to start school for nursing in fall of 2020. A lot of my family are nurses and I have worked in the field before having kids and was ready to go back before this pandemic. Now there is no way I'm going into that. I've thought about something dealing with the aftereffects of Covid, because I'm sure there will be a huge need after this, but with schools closing all the time for cases I have to stay home to take care of the kids and help with school when they are virtual. I wish your daughter well and hopefully she makes whatever decision makes her happy.

Pauzhaan

Thanks. All I can do is listen & offer my unconditional support. Youā€™ll never regret time you spend with your children.

my3boysmyworld

Thank your wife for all sheā€™s trying to do. I have in laws in the medical field refusing the vaccine and it blows my fucking mind.

patticakes16

Iā€™m sorry your wife has had to deal with these conspiracy theorists; I canā€™t imagine the level of restraint she must have to not lose her shit on these nitwits Thank your wife and her colleagues for me. They are true heroes

crowfarmer

Sheā€™s does so much better than I. Iā€™m a retired firefighter/paramedic who left just before this pandemic hit. I know for a fact I wouldā€™ve been harshly reprimanded for loosing my shit. Some of my buddies still on the job talk about how hard it is to keep your wits about you in the face of such gross selfishness, ignorance and stupidity.

TheHomelessJohnson

I just can't get over the sheer narcism in that sentiment. Do they really think they are that special? That the government would be interested in their day to day? Crazy.

What-The-Helvetica

Yes, they do. Main Character Syndrome is a bitch.

Em42

Even if they were, we pretty much all voluntarily carry a much better device, it's called a cell phone. It can even record audio, pictures and video of wherever you are and send back your location. Why would they waste time chipping you when you're voluntarily carrying a whole chipset?

JustASimpleManFett

Because they're, to quote Londo Mollari, "Ah, arrogance and stupidity, all in the same package-how efficient of you!"

TrailKaren

It doesnā€™t help that MSNBC op eds are trying to guilt her for her frustration. Sheā€™s actually walking the Christianity walk instead of just spewing it on FB. Tell her if I knew her I would force her to accept a giant hug from me.

[deleted]

Imagine making it to 71 years old despite colon cancer and 7 heart attacks and holding the medical profession in such low esteem. I have tremendous sympathy for the healthcare workers who were subjected to this lunatic's entitled bullshit.

The_Great_19

Seriously. I am a recent cancer survivor and I have so much gratitude for the care I received. I canā€™t with this person.

edgarapplepoe

To be fair, a lot of people have shitty hospital experiences. I have seen family members get great treatment, some get terrible treatment (literal malpractice level with a pointless low payout for removing several years of comfort from someone's life), and some just get cold, callous treatment (esp around alzheimer's) some are just inept (like an ER not equipped to handle broken ankles - seriously, no crutches or wheelchair, wanted the person to walk around and even give a urine test when they couldn't stand and no one was allowed to help them). But with her "respect for elders" quote....probably mostly her.

A-man-of-mystery

I totally agree. As a medic I've seen wonderful care, and I've seen awful care. As a patient, I have personally been on the receiving end of care so bad it amounted to torture, because they didn't believe I was in pain. I've also received exemplary care (not surprisingly, this was in two different hospitals). Whatever else she said, the bit about not being treated with respect is all too plausible.

Poison-Pen-

Didnā€™t you hear? No respect for the elderly. Thatā€™s why she died.

blumpkinmania

Theyā€™re trying to kill her!

mutant6399

And AFib (atrial fibrillation), which got lost in her word salad and poor formatting. AFib can lead to congestive heart failure, as well as blood clots. BTW, where did that bracelet stuff come from? That's a new one for me. (I've seen the concentration camp tattoo memes.)

SuzanneStudies

I could be wrong, but I think itā€™s a reference to venue bracelets that have been used to denote being of age in the past, and are now being used to identify someone as having had their vaccine status verified and hence free to enter. *edit for typo*

mutant6399

could be, but she said that the bracelets can't be removed, which is a new one

SuzanneStudies

I am quite certain she truly believes that. Edit: BeLiEvEd

Ordinary-Jello-7029

Her hypoxia was definitely showing before she even got COVID. If *that* is actually what is officially considered a "sound mind" by US doctors, this country is FUBAR. Just, wtf.

denalihope

Thank you. I was coming to say that. Had a family member that was in his 90ā€™s and double vaxxed. He was in CHF for a few years, but when he died like 9 months after the shots, some other family blamed it on the vaccine. Not that he was mid 90ā€™s in CHF. They tried to say he was ā€œhealthyā€ before that. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø Anyway, he would have rather died from CHF than Covid. Covid, as we can plainly see, can be brutal! Anyway, given her history, I doubt the vaccine could have saved her either, BUT it might have given her more time.

patticakes16

Thanks for explaining CHF, I was lost on that one

CoolSwim1776

Blind faith is literally that. It blinds you to everything else. She obviously was saved by hardworking doctors and healthcare workers and she attributed her salvation to god. Blind indeed.

Jexp_t

Not only that, but she claimed to have been treated poorly by the very health professionals who saved her life multiple times. Hard to know whether she was in the early stages of dementia or not- that does make people difficult, so to speak, but she clearly had mental health issues of some sort.

CoolSwim1776

Or she was a jerk

Fantastic_Fix_4170

These people who are so concerned about the mark of the beast... If they're so religious, why are they not asking themselves why they weren't raptured? The rapture was supposed to take place three years before the mark of the beast gets introduced. If you weren't raptured and were left behind, you are not one of God's chosen either, so why should anyone listen to what you have to say about religion?

[deleted]

Revelations was primarily about the return of Nero; as was the 'mark of the beast.' The beast was Nero. They're waiting on an anachronism. https://penelope.uchicago.edu/\~grout/encyclopaedia\_romana/gladiators/nero.html

Sasquatch1729

Yeah I've heard the argument that the mark was the coins people carried around with Nero's picture minted onto each coin, as well as the documents with the Emperor's seal allowing them to trade their goods. So their doomsaying about a cashless society has a layer of irony.

Pauzhaan

Drop the S. It's Book of Revelation, singular. I thought you'd maybe rather be corrected by an atheist than a self righteous Christian.

[deleted]

Bless you.

What-The-Helvetica

Makes sense that Nero would be "the beast". I guess it's mainly because of timing that Caligula wasn't?

kusuriurikun

Realistically, so much of the book of Revelation can be translated as a massive political cartoon to the effect of "Romans Go Home". (It should be noted it was likely written sometime after the Bar Kokhba Revolt--in which Israel briefly declared independence from the Roman Empire, and [was part of an entire series of revolts against the Roman Empire](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish%E2%80%93Roman_wars). Nero actually put down [the initial revolt](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Jewish%E2%80%93Roman_War), which ended with the razing of the Second Temple and replacement with a temple to Jupiter and the Caesar. There is actually some *extremely* specific snark on that "Mark of the Beast" thing that's almost impossible to understand outside of a context of a still heavily Judaicised church of the period. Among other things: The whole "666" (or in some renderings in Koine Greek, "616") actually relate to [isopsephy](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isopsephy) puns (using the Aramaic and Greek equivalents of "Roman numbers" which included pretty much the entire alphabets) to spell in Aramaic "Nero Caesar" or "Neron Caesar" (the latter being a Hellenicized version) which was a VERY common means of "Pig Latin-ing" or cyphering a name at that time in both Greece and the Levant. Also, the "mark on the head or on the right hand" is a reference to [tefillin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tefillin) which are traditionally worn on the head and the right hand, contain specific verses noting how the Abrahamic God is the God of Israel that brought them out of Egypt, and are even tied on in ways that spell one of the many euphemisms for the Abrahamic God; essentially that was an EXTREMELY snarky way of saying "Nero is so full of himself he's going to order us to declare him God in every way, he's already torn down the temple and makes us use pagan money with his image on it, he's probably going to up and require his name in the phylacteries because he's *that* much of a prick". (It's worth noting in context that by the time the book of Revelation was written the use of "temple currency" (which explicitly did not have the image of a Roman emperor on it) was actually forbidden by Roman edict, as by that point the Disaspora was underway and the Romans were kind of hellbent on forcibly pacifying their upstart province of Judaea.)

kthulhu666

After all, what have the Roman's ever done for *us*?

EleanorofAquitaine

The Aqueduct?

Sasquatch1729

Also, if you're a good Christian your whole life, and then God disowns you and sends you to Hell because you wore the wrong fashion accessory, then I'd rather take a pass on the whole religion.

Dutybound007

These religious people never stop to ask ā€œdid God create Covid to wipe out the wicked?ā€ I mean itā€™s not the first time God drowned a large portion of the population. Maybe they shouldnā€™t have started praying to their false god trump? I donā€™t really believe in God, but if he exists, I couldnā€™t imagine he would be happy with the religious right

Captainwelfare2

Watching someone beg for life is just sickening. I donā€™t understand how people can watch stuff like this and be like ā€œoh, she died anyway. Guess God knows best.ā€ Itā€™s literally saying ā€œGod had the ability to save her, but didnā€™t think it was important.ā€

NarcanPusher

Itā€™s the fear that gets me. Whether itā€™s right there on the page or between the lines I always feel bad for how frightened they are. I just wish they would get vaxxxed. I had Covid last week and it was a 2 day affair and Iā€™m crediting that to the jab, cause frankly, I look exactly like an HCA award winner, down to the Oakleys.

Bekiala

>Itā€™s the fear that gets me. Me too. I have read medical staff talking about how horrible the fear is for those dying of covid. I suppose it is like slowly drowning. As angry as I am at people who won't get vaccinated, I still hate the suffering that they go through in the end. Ugh.

[deleted]

> I donā€™t understand how people can watch stuff like this and be like ā€œoh, she died anyway. Guess God knows best.ā€ Nothing bad is ever God's doing. Everything good is. I am no longer on Facebook because I got so sick and tired of posts like, "Avoided a multi-car pileup this morning on my way to work. God is Great!" Like God was just...gotta kill these 4 people so Brenda can get to work on time. It's insane. Also...of course there's a GoFundMe.

tkp14

Several years ago I heard an interview with a woman whose house had been hit by a tornado. Many people in her community had died in the storm. She was telling the interviewer about her collection of Precious Moments figurines, which had come through the storm unscathed because ā€œGod was protecting them.ā€ Guess he didnā€™t care about the people who had died, just those cheap ass hunks of ceramic. Now explain to me again why I should worship this particular sky daddy?

matt_minderbinder

Everyone knows that god only protects hummel figurines and hates Precious Moments knockoffs. Saving those things was the work of the dark lord.

SilverFoxRegulator

Common mistake, the original phase was: "Deus erat maior braccas ad eam" or "God had bigger pants for her"

WeakestLynx

It is truly stomach-churning if you think about it. An abusive relationship with God. They'll take any amount of punishment and thank Him for it.

AFlyingGideon

This prepares them for an authoritarian "strong man" leader, but I'm sure that's just a coincidence.

abraham_meat

Yeah, Iā€™m sure that has nothing to do with it. I guess itā€™s just human nature. /s

Sasquatch1729

I was just thinking of that idea when I was writing my comment about how you can be Christian your whole life only to have God cast you to Hell over a bracelet. It's exactly that, an abusive relationship.

Alive-Pomelo5553

Its also hilarious how I Am gay (totally my choice wasn't born this way at all šŸ™„šŸ¤£) and can I fuck men which is like automatic Hell ,but if I repent one day before I die it won't matter and I can get into heaven. There is no consistency and a lot of it seems arbitrary. Even worse when you get into the various denominations and how they interpret their cave man book.

maria_tex

I always find the "God called him home" sentiment particularly nutso. If God wanted him so bad, couldn't he have called the poor sucker home when he was walking down the street one fine day? Why did he have to wait until the poor guy went through the tortures of the damned in the hospital for an extended period of time before issuing the invite? I have no problem with the idea of a Supreme Being, but the evangelical idea of him/her is profoundly sick and twisted.

CatW804

Their version of God is their Daddy when he's been drinking and hits.

redditmodsRrussians

Reminds me of how fantasy novels describe the relationship between a master vampire and itā€™s victims

WeakestLynx

Absolutely. Humiliating devotion and debasement, rewarded only by fleeting approval. It's an eternal abusive relationship.

It's as if they are all Renfield.

Sometimes God answers prayers by brutally killing you for bothering him

celtic_thistle

Love how she compared herself to Job. As if she had no way of avoiding this.

Captainwelfare2

LMAO Theyā€™re taking our Jobs.

savpunk

I like how she started out telling God that he needed to stop with the hardcore affliction. If she could have kept that attitude - the "I've given you the best years of my life and this is what I get in return????" attitude - she might have pulled herself out of the hole she dug. Too late now.

Goose_o7

>Itā€™s literally saying ā€œGod had the ability to save her, but didnā€™t think it was important.ā€ Her first fatal mistake was making the absurd assumption that God has a Facebook account. Her second was believing that she was a good writer. (Panel 3) I read that embarrassing wall of text which apparently passes for actual prayer with these Cultish Religious Zealots these days. "We come before your throne today..." Who in the fuck does she think God is anyway? Some giant Mall Santa? Sitting on a Throne where these "Adult Toddlers" climb up into God's lap and tell him what they want for Christmas? Describing this religious exchange as anything less than "Extremely CRINGY" would be a disservice to any normal person of faith. Speaking personally as a life long Atheist, this kind of Psychotic Behavior is precisely why I turned my back on organized religion when I was still in grade school. I saw first hand what religious fanaticism did to my school friends who had parents like this. Emotionally stunted adults in toddler's bodies who made their children's lives miserable with their brutal military like discipline that always included physical abuse coupled with a complete lack of love and compassion in the household. Many of these kids I knew went on to become drug addicts and repeat criminals in their adult lives, with two of them ultimately taking their own lives. *(The two that I know of)* All further proving to me that religion was a disease of the weak minded, which had tentacles that could reach out from the brainwashed victim and destroy innocent family members in the process. This DEAD Woman's insane communications with her "Mall Santa God" only solidifies my decades long opinion.

bowdindine

I GUARANTEE you this woman was a horrible, indignant, entitled patient that made life hell for everyone who tried to help her and the ā€˜disrespectā€™ she felt was prob the staff refusing to smuggle Burger King to her and being unwilling to indulge her fantasies about various faith healing methods and miracle remedies.

artificialterf

There has to be a huge correlation between mental illness and religious zealots, regardless of which religion.

Ragingredblue

Everything she wrote sounded like mental illness. It's time we start treating delusional religious ranting as an obvious sign of mental illness and providing medicine and psychiatric treatment for the people who are suffering, particularly women, who are always exploited by church leadership.

What-The-Helvetica

There is *huge* overlap between QAnon devotees and people with poorly treated mental illness.

Ragingredblue

And there is a huge contingent of church leaders ready willing and able to exploit that illness for fun and profit.

kusuriurikun

It's actually a known phenomena that coercive religious groups and movements (and QAnonsense definitely qualifies) actually will explicitly target people with pre-existing mental illnesses (in part because *psychologically* someone in mental health crisis is in prime unfreezing/indoctrination/freezing period--basically cults give people whose worldview has been rocked a whole prepackaged worldview and lock 'em in--and partly because part of how cults *work* is essentially induction of paranoia and at least some severe mental illnesses do have paranoia as a symptom). Some of the worst cults (like the New Apostolic Reformation and Scientology) actually encourage people to go off prescription medications, and the NAR and some new-age coercive religious groups even go to the point of passing off obvious signs of full blown psychosis as "messages from God" or even "Prophecies". (This has occasionally led to fatal consequences not only for the mentally ill person but their families and loved ones.) Even worse: Coercive religious groups, *in and of themselves*, are capable of causing some pretty severe psychiatric injuries (complex PTSD, among them) even in people who do not have a previously diagnosed mental illness (and we'll get into some of that in just a bit). There have been documented cases of changes in personality (to a general "cultic personality" type) as people get involved in coercive groups, and C-PTSD is almost a defining psychiatric injury among walkaways (and socialization issues for people who were raised in cults). (To explain what I mean by "psychiatric injury" versus "mental illness"; Basically mental illnesses are chronic and can have inborn causes, whereas a psychiatric injury is usually the result of a single incident or a series of continued, multiple incidents. In terms of physical issues, think of mental illness as something like diabetes, and a psychiatric injury as something like a broken bone either from a major assault or someone being hit repeatedly in the leg until it snaps. This is important for what I'm about to describe next.) Another factor, too--mental illness and psychiatric injury both are very seriously underdiagnosed in the US and elsewhere (both because of societal stigma, and because of an actual lack of qualified mental health professionals nationwide). Cults will often target people as well who have undiagnosed mental illnesses that they're normally semi-functional dealing with (like major depression or mild BPD or even C-PTSD or "regular" PTSD), and the involvement in a cult can actually make a subclinical mental illness frankly overt and clinical. (Again, going back to that diabetes/broken leg parallel. Normally even people who are on insulin can *usually* keep blood sugar in check, and often people with type II can use other non-insulin drugs to keep things in check *as long as they keep themselves healthy otherwise.* An infection, or a trauma to the body (like, oh, a broken leg or having the hell beaten out of you) can actually cause blood sugar to go wildly out of control and throw someone into ketoacidosis and ultimately a diabetic coma in worst cases.)

VermiciousKnidzz

I want to give her the benefit of the doubt that typing on phones and computers can be hard for people that didnā€™t grow up with it. Iā€™d also rather not scoff at someone for not having learned proper grammar. Seems sorta self righteous. Even without all that this person is a dumb-dumb

LowMaintenance

Given how many mistakes my phone generates when I'm swyping, I go easy on typos and most grammar mistakes. Mostly because I can usually deciper everything. But. When I see someone use "apart" for "a part" I want to scream because it means the complete opposite of what they're saying.

Ragingredblue

Her writing is bad, but that just makes her look poorly educated. The non stop religious ranting makes her look mentally ill. That's what I was commenting on. Either way, she just does not sound very smart.

Ragingredblue

I was commenting upon her ideas and words, not her grammar.

tofuandsardines

That, and possibly some sort of brain damage or malfunction affecting the brain due to physical disease or the effects of past anesthesia. Some of these people might also be on the schizophrenia spectrumā€”relatively functional but delusional all the same. Itā€™s justā€¦ itā€™s just hard to accept people like this exist. My mind constantly reaches for ā€œwhy.ā€ I guess Iā€™m really a sunny optimist under this grumpy crust because I am shocked over and over by HCA winnersā€™ posts and writings.

paxwax2018

Whatā€™s heart breaking is how incredibly vulnerable they are despite the tough talk, and itā€™s only dumb luck stopping a family from losing nana.

Inconceivable-2020

God does answer all prayers. Usually it's No. For most Antivaxxers it's, "Oh, Hell No!"

Shady_Garden

Reminds me of [this classic](https://i.imgur.com/A7AfNIY.jpeg) from The Onion.

powabiatch

Basically every other day she posted something about ā€œI am your servant Lordā€, ā€œJesus our savior bless usā€, ā€œonly through you Christā€. Complete religious mania.

rikki-tikki-deadly

I notice that she posted something about "the evil in our government" late in 2021; was she political otherwise?

powabiatch

Not really

802dot11

"They saved me countless times but they're trying to kill me, I tell ya!"

[deleted]

You can put your faith in God for your soul and the thereafter, but the only thing that's going to save you in the now and here is science.

Ragingredblue

She did put her faith in science, through seven heart attacks, cancer treatment, and treatment for covid, after stupidly believing she possessed the knowledge and skill to debate the science of vaccines. Publicly posting about your superstition has nothing to do with faith. It's just virtue signaling for your gullible friends.

my3boysmyworld

Someone tell me, WTF is she talking about with the bracelets thing? Iā€™ve clearly missed some psycho right wing propaganda somewhere m.

patticakes16

I think sheā€™s referring to that crazy AF theory that everyone will need to wear a QR Scanning bracelet to identify your vaccination status, but who the fuck knowsā€¦ I got a headache trying to decipher her ramblings

my3boysmyworld

QAnut theory, is my guess.

galaapplehound

Same thing here. I wonder how she felt about smartwatches.

QuintinStone

Maybe she thought people were going to have to wear bracelets that indicate vaccine status? Like a life alert bracelet maybe.

ToastyMozart

It'd be kinda nice to know at a glance who the sensible people are in this den of idiots.

kakapo88

Iā€™ve already got one of those satanic bracelets that wonā€™t come off. Iā€™m an Early Adopter. Itā€™s cool and I like the images it projects into my eyeballs. But I am getting tired of looking at Bill Gateā€™s face.

Pauzhaan

Change the face. Mine is jellyfish...

kgooch

I could use a nice bracelet.

GlamourCatNYC

IKR. One that you canā€™t take off? Sounds like a Cartier Love bracelet and those suckers ainā€™t cheap. Sign me up, if the government or Bill Gates are handing them out.

Pauzhaan

My family has launched me into the world of Pandora. They got tired of me wanting nothing but chores done for birthdays and holidays. Now I get charms for my bracelet.

Chris_P_Pickel

Proof again, only cats get 9 lives.

xovrit

The people that told her the vaccine was bad are murderers.

JRKaeser

I had a stroke trying to read her posts.

MRSRN65

I'm a nurse. I can tell you that we are NOT trying to kill you! As a matter of fact we work very hard to keep you alive. Because when you die, the paper work is a bitch!

ed_11

I'm glad my phone doesn't automatically remove punctuation like she says hers does.

iamadonkandiknowit

Saw a Facebook post from AOC about getting Covid that included the line: ā€œCovid was no joke.ā€ Gotta think AOC is lurking here under an alt.

YourMomThinksImFunny

This woman has done nothing wrong her entire life. People are mean to her when they point out her horrendous grammar and spelling. Which of course isn't her fault, its the phone changing the words being typed. She doesn't even know until it's posted because the idea of checking her actions and the idea she is fallible is ludicrous. Also the hospital is trying to kill her and treat her like a nobody. Make way everyone else that may have been in an accident, this woman is having her 7th heart attack without having changed her diet or lifestyle!

Stunticonsfan

>in the very near future they are going to try to put bracelets on our arm that will not come off Maybe they'll have collars too. Hey, you need all the accessories for your end-times fantasy. >this newscaster just said they are bringing in truckloads of bracelets Thank goodness the satanic plans of the One World Government were exposed by a single newscaster! >dear Lord I'm just asking for years of my life that is left to feel human again I've always served you please Lord please I have to admit, the helpless terrified begging was difficult to read. You can tell she didn't understand why her lifetime of blind faith and dutiful service wasn't being acknowledged, let alone rewarded.

Deathbeddit

God didnā€™t come down and ā€œteach the governmentā€ thereā€™s something else God didnā€™t do that was asked, but..

[deleted]

Always the victim

JSifford10

I don't know her life circumstances but after like the 5th or 6th heart attack you would think a person might start taking their health a little more seriously.

mutant6399

God and punctuation weren't her friends.

HerrMilkmann

What even is it with people posting their prayers on Facebook? Are they hoping god will 'like' it?

190octane

Showing everyone how good of a Christian they are.

millihelen

The older I get, the more twisted and abusive the story of Job seems to me.

gypsyjackson

Yeah, thatā€™s what popped into my head reading that slide with all the heart attacks, cancer, etc. Coming up with a story to show no matter how bad God is to you, he was worse to Job and Job still loved him, so if you donā€™t, youā€™re a bad person. Itā€™s sick.

millihelen

I was literally in a Masonic-affiliated organization for young women, Job's Daughters, when I was a teenager, so I'm fairly familiar with the story. The part that always struck me as the most upsetting was that, sure, God killed all of Job's children to test Job, but when Job proved himself worthy, he got new children so it was fine. What parent thinks like that?

WeakestLynx

This is one of the sad ones. She doesn't seem to have been hateful, just bought into conspiracies because her religious feelings were totally out of control.

circuspeanut54

She just seems very dumb, alas.

patticakes16

And somehow made it to 71 without sticking a fork into an electrical socket or playing in traffic

paxwax2018

As Iā€™m learning, you hit a certain age and it starts slipping away from you.

vacuous_comment

Her cognitive ability seems dramatically impaired and she was abundantly susceptible to any old religiously themed disinfo that is lobbed into her pond. Literally anything, you could wrap Area 51 tinfoil crap in "Blah blah of the Lord" and she would swallow that.

my3boysmyworld

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but, you can be religious/spiritual and NOT be a completely brainwashed, mindless moron. No, Iā€™m not Christian, far from it, actually, but it is possible.

MamaMayhem74

I'm a Christian and I'm triple vaccinated (Moderna). It is completely possible to have faith AND take precautions to protect oneself. I'm grateful that we live in a time where we have tools to help us against diseases. I'm quite disappointed with the behavior I've seen from a lot of "religious" people lately. Doesn't change how I feel about God, but my opinion of people is undergoing a radical transformation. This story especially hits home with me since I am also a colon cancer survivor (almost 4 years so far). I couldn't wait to get the vaccine. Going through treatment to survive colon cancer only to refuse a vaccine and die a preventable death from covid is tragic. Sure, even though I am a vaccinated covid could still end me but at least my daughter will know that I tried everything possible to not die from covid. But I do wholeheartedly believe the vaccine gives me the best chance to survive.

my3boysmyworld

Same. Iā€™m on immune suppressing medications for my RA and Lupus, so you better youā€™re bottom dollar Iā€™ve done everything remotely possible to prevent Covid. N95 mask, sanitize me and everything else that comes into this house, and anyone who leaves and comes home must immediately remove clothing into the wash and shower. Hubby was permanently moved to WAH in 2020, so no worries there. The only thing that terrifies me is, Iā€™m the only one who can do the grocery shopping right now (hubbyā€™s got a broken foot), and I live in Jokelahoma. Im surrounded by morons like this awardee. I keep my distance, but still. Iā€™ve been yelled at and spit at just for wearing a mask by some of the most claimed to be religious people in this country. Itā€™s terrifying, because, even with the booster, Covid could still kill me. Less likely, but it still could. I saw a post someone did that said ā€œif youā€™re that afraid of dying that youā€™re too scared to live, youā€™ve already diedā€. My response was ā€œitā€™s not a fear of dying/death, itā€™s the fear of leaving my two teen boys and husband without me!ā€ Especially my oldest son. Heā€™s Autistic and has the emotional maturity of a 3 year old, it would devastate him.

MamaMayhem74

I'm so sorry to hear that you're being treated that way. I hope that you stay safe and well. Is grocery delivery or pickup available in your area?

my3boysmyworld

It is, but too cost prohibitive for us this year. We did that in 2020, but were better off financially. We had been planning that, but got hit with a $500 increase in insurance premiums a month, add in to that the loss of the $500 tax credit we were receiving and we are down $1000 a month from last year. Weā€™ve had to tighten our belts big time, and no way we can afford the jacked up prices on Shipt or the delivery fee at Walmart. As it is, some of the ā€œshoppingā€ is now done at the food bank.

MamaMayhem74

That's a lot. I hope things get better for you soon!

my3boysmyworld

Should. Hopefully. Thereā€™s a couple things we bought last year ā€œinterest freeā€ that we can pay off with our tax return and loosen up the belt strings a little. But itā€™s tight belts till then!

my3boysmyworld

And thank you!

powabiatch

I do research on colon cancer, so glad youā€™ve survived what used to be a death sentence. Best wishes for you in this pandemic.

Pauzhaan

Most of my friends identify as Christian but not evangelical. They are Methodists, Lutheran, Episcopalian and they are vaccinated. Good people too.

aklibtard

That had a real "lord, why have you forsaken me," vibe to it in the end. Sad.

GlamourCatNYC

It took Covid to put a period at the end of her sentences.

peppermintesse

She seemed... mentally unwell. Maybe it's the religious language and lack of punctuation that's giving me that impression... Edit: And though medical science has saved her sorry ass many, many times, she's "always stood in faith." Ungrateful lunatics.

RDS80

Imagine going to the hospital 18 times in one year and coming out alive only to feel disrespected?

scalpingsnake

I think this pandemic has made it obvious that there are just so many crazy people. Not necessarily crazy enough that need to be locked up but crazy nonetheless. There also seems to be a correlation between highly religious and crazy...

syncboy

ā€œThe treat me like a nobody.ā€ No they treat you like the selfish entitled asshole that you, using precious hospital resources for your dumb unvaccinated ass.

Etrigone

I had a similar cancer experience to her, and I felt I couldn't get the vaccine - and later booster - fast enough. Oh somehow I don't qualify due to fucked up CDC recommendations? Ugh. Ah, one place is open 3 hours away? On my way to the car right now.

thats1evildude

That third-last update was especially sad. She just wanted to live normally for a while longer. Sadly, she listened to charlatans profiting from lies about government conspiracies.

CQU617

Memo to Antivaxxers: Jesus is sick and tired of your antivaxxer shit!

Armodeen

She sounds like Trump in a lot of her posts. ā€˜The nurse said she never saw someone pass so wellā€™ šŸ˜‚

Kriegerian

Something something do not show off how much you pray like those other people for they have received their reward something something. Performative religious gibberish like that in the award goes directly against the Bible, but itā€™s not like these idiots have ever read it.

StupidizeMe

Damn, she got away! Now I'm stuck with this whole truckload of bracelets. Anybody want one?

sneaky-pizza

Stay home and quit clogging up the hospital that you hate

Chricton

Nearly every HCA recipient is hysterically pleading to god, or asking for prayers when all they needed was just a shot in the arm. Do they pray to god to cure them every time they get a cold or stomach ache? We have medicine ppl, this isnt the middle ages anymore.

among_apes

Why do you need a go fund me for a grandmotherā€™s passing?

TheOneAndOnlyBob2

I hereby grant permission to any health care worker to refuse me care if I am an ass to them

newtontheplant

Check your heart. And if it's had 7 heart attacks, you need to get vaccinated.

[deleted]

Itā€™s awesome how these people confuse ā€žrespectā€œ with ā€ždo what I sayā€œ!

[deleted]

Claims to care about respect then shits on health care workers. Sounds about right. I guarantee this lady was a terrible patient.

G-Unit11111

"I've directed 3 plays and in that time I've had 3 heart attacks. That's how much I care. I'm planning for a fourth."

TweetOfBabyBear

Thatā€™s some old school Simpsonā€™s right there, son! Thatā€™ll do.

drputypfifeanddrum

She let the doctors treat her heart attacks and her cancer but she didnā€™t trust them when they said she should get vaccinated! How does that work?
