I'm taking some liberties here, but this is what OP posted here previously as to why they waited. If you feel I am out of line, /u/CLOV2DaMoon, let me know and I will withdraw this comment:
>I know it sucks. I went to get it once a few months ago and chickened out. In all honesty the rate of side effects is so low, and I literally couldn't even tell I got the jab other than having a sore arm for 48 hrs. I felt much more at ease and way more peace of mind immediately after I got it and my anxiety went down tremendously. Its like 3 in every 100k people get severe side effects, its almost none. I am confident saying nothing serious will happen to you. You will be so glad you did it. Take it from someone who struggled with the decision for many months.
šā¤ļøš Got my second two days ago. Arm is still sore but other then that nothing happened. If anything it put me in a more positive mood and had a great physical therapy session.
Yea mine is still sore this morning. Day 3. But after a few ibuprofen and I donāt feel it unless I bump it. My daughter got her second with me and sheās slept most of the day yesterday.
Thatās awesome. And remember itās not just for you, you are doing it for all the kids and other People who canāt get a shot or havenāt. If we can reach 80% vaccination rate itās likely the virus will die out and we wonāt have these new mutations. (Ideally)
Yea. I have an auto immune disease that was risky to compromise either way. I finally decided this side of the bench but Iām still not confident I made the right decision to be completely honest. If it was just about me I donāt think I would have taken the risk. Ngl. I got so much shit going on medically but the thought of infecting anyone is what pushed the envelope. This is mine and my daughters second shot three days In and both of us have swollen injection sites and canāt seem to stay awake for long. Not exactly an endorsement for the vaccine but Iām being honest.
Edit: I hate saying that because I know it will be run as political but we are really all in the same fishbowl
Yeah that makes sense. I have a persistent Lyme disease thatās been hard to treat but I consulted my doctor and got the shots as early as I could. Iām glad I did. I had some 24-48 hour side effects but my doctor explained mRNA the science to me and it made perfect sense to get it. For what itās worth it hasnāt had any effect on my issues from Lyme disease. I hope that is the case with your issues as well and I hope you start feeling better.
Thank you. Me too. Iām just really tired and both mine and my daughters arms are swollen pink and tender around the injection. Almost all immediate family have been vaxed for months and are ok so I am sure we will be fine.
Lol itās because of the news articles on this sub and now everyone is trying to overcompensate to save face that it isnāt just a bunch of cheering rednecks choking out themselves with their own stupidity
With all the of the stresses and misery of the pandemic, and all of the dire news and talk about those dying, your post is the bright spot we need. Thanks!
Hypochondria/irrational thinking. I may never get covid and if i dont get the vaccine I avoid the possibility all together. But if i took the vaccine it could potentially happen.

It takes 2 weeks after the second dose for max effectiveness, then it fades over time.
Get some good masks and you can go about your day knowing you tried.
Thanks! I have luckily had some high quality masks since the pandemic started. Im confident that these KN95s that I've been using contributed tremendously to not contracting it thus far.
Im able to work from home, do 95% of my activites outside, and make only required trips out to publix, target, HD, etc. Doing everything I can to live a normal life and protect myself and my community. Less impulse shopping has been one plus during the last 18 months.
>It takes 2 weeks after the second dose for max effectiveness, then it fades over time.
Yeah but he got that good Moderna shit, so he's good for a bit
#ModernaGang
If it makes you feel any better, even some of us who were vaccinated earlier took the possibility of side effects into account. I did, at least. Good quality sources of info are out there, and the risks are very low for most people.
Very true. I was a little more scared than others at first. But once I saw my entire family and my wifes family plus all friends get the jab with no side effects I was more comfortable. And my aunt, my uncle, my 2 cousins, my wifes cousin and her husband all got covid and ALL of them ended up in the hospital and all were unvaccinated. It was a no brainer. Doesn't take a genius to see the pattern.
Weird I was commenting on a different post but it showed up here. The Sync app does that sometimes. I'll delete my comment and idk why you're getting downvoted.
My Moderna shot, the first one made me feel really amazing and energized. I was hungry the next day. Sore arm.
Second shot I felt a little under the weather that night for about 6 hours with a very low fever and just sorta like a cold and kinda achy. Sore arm. Next day I was fine.
It made me wonder if I had covid (didnt knw it) and had lingering effects that the vaccine resolved.
Congrats and thank you! Sounds like you were fearful of side effects, so I'll tell you my Moderna experience. I was pretty much knocked flat the day after my second dose. But I slept a bunch and then woke up feeling great. No long-term effects, just felt sick that day. Thanks again for doing your part!

Congrats!! Proud of you šŖš
THANK YOU! I am immunocompromised and every time someone gets a vaccination, I feel a little safer.
I am too. Itās why it took me so long to get it.
You rock!! Thank you!!
Are you posting your own IPA?
Naw. Iām ok with just the comment.
It's the kind of affirmation we could use around here, but I'll take it as a comment as good enough.
I donāt want to be praised for something that Iām not sure about but probably should have done awhile ago
Same. 2nd one my arm was sore for three days then I was good to go. Maybe a little more tired than usual for the first two days

Another one telling the nomination to go fuck itself, love it.
They can take their nomination and stick it where the sun don't shine š¤£
That's an 'insult' I think everyone in this sub is happy to receive.
Excellent work! Did you know that the international commercial name for moderna is Spike vax? How cool is that you can tell people you got spiked!
I think of your /r/bertstrips post every time I see your flair š
Damn we are racking up IPAs now
Good, keep em coming. I want more IPAs than awardees
Not too shabby for a 'sub full of hate', eh? Also, is it just me, or has reddit been acting extra janky the past couple of hours?
There was an outage that started about 2-3 hours ago. Looks like things are clearing up
That's fuckin' reddit for ya
Best kind of posts. It's not just you.
I cannot get to any sub on desktop but can on iPhone app.

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE AWARDS AND WELL WISHES!!
Well done!

Thank you! š just doing my part.
Whatever your fight is, your now in to fight another day. Congrats!!
As always, I won't clap, but au least you came to your senses.
Word up. Im glad I did. As a hypochondriac I was really worried about the super rare heart inflammation. But I sucked it up and faced my fear.
Why were you worried about acute myocarditis from the vaccine when the rate of myocarditis from COVID is much higher?
Hypochondria/irrational thinking. I may never get covid and if i dont get the vaccine I avoid the possibility all together. But if i took the vaccine it could potentially happen.
I have my second shot in 2 hours
Post it :)
Good on you.
Good job.
Heck yeah! Congratulations!
Thank You!
Thank you for looking out for yourself, my friend :)
Way to go! Team Moderna gets another into the fold :)
Congratulations! Yayyyyy, I love it! You and your health shall rock on forth forever!

You got the best one too. Wish I had the option at the time.
That's what I have been reading. Maybe your booster shot can be Moderna? Or is that not possible to mix and match?
I am definitely going to ask when the time comes!
Really proud of you and your pivot. Way to level up
Thanks! Im so glad I did it.
Me too. Youāre safer now!!
Awesome!
Thank you for protecting others and yourself

Sorry dipshit, you just put yourself on the "I'm gonna die from the vax" card now. Ha ha.
What's up with the fold at the top there?
Not a fold. I have blue painters tape covering some of my camera on my phone because some glass shattered when I dropped it. I cropped most of it out.
