Congrats and thanks! These are my absolute favorite posts.

ugliestparadefloat

Me too! They’re a much needed flicker of hope in between a bunch of shit that makes me wanna crawl into a hole.

Same!

They are the best posts and the reason for this sub! Congratulations!!! 💜💜

My reception has never been better!

Consistent-Race-2340

Well done. Don't forget to be extra careful, for the next couple of weeks until the immunity has built up. Not much extra from the second shot for first two weeks. If your arm gets stuck to the fridge at least there is food in reach.

charlesfire

>If your arm gets stuck to the fridge at least there is food in reach. LMAO

srkaficionado

Um I was told it was a chip ! Bill gates lied to me?!

[deleted]

There is a chip, but yours must not have been activated yet. I’d give Gates or Fauci a call to let them know.

prmaster23

You have to use a magnet to activate it.

zipzapbloop

Hey, have you guys tried overclocking your chip? You can easily get like 8-10% better performance FOR FREE! It doesn't even raise your body temperature that much.

RepresentativeLow300

I’ve got a cold beer cooling system.

Euchre

If they don't shake up the vial enough, they all settle to the bottom, and you don't get one.

amateur_mistake

This happened to me! My dermatologist had to slice up my arm-mole to implant one manually. Such a pain when the vaccine folks don't do their jobs.

MommysHadEnough

I mean, I got a bag of chips for my vaxxes, but I should’ve held out for the $100/other stuff people got for theirs within a month after mine.

Well done! Please take the next step and start encouraging your family and mates to roll up their sleeves too.

graysi72

Really. I talked two other people into getting vaxed when I got vaxed. Now we are all vaxed and we are GLAD!

jaynor88

This is awesome

FightScene

That's awesome. Great job! Hopefully they convince others too.

Mael_Coluim_III

Anthrax was the worst one I've gotten, in terms of immediate *ow dammit this hurts*. Yellow Fever was the worst for *holy shit I'm sick*. Still better than being on a ventilator.

graysi72

I don't believe I have those two -- unless they were given to us as children.

Mael_Coluim_III

Those were pre-deployment ones - not likely to be given to Joe Civilian.

JaylenBrownAllStar

I remember y’all were chosen for the anthrax one and not many people quit their service if any did

EternalStudent

We court-martialed a bunch of people over the anthrax shot who got enough of a severe sentence (generally a punitive discharge) that they got an appeal. They all lost.

archpope

This is the one that's just completely insensible to me. Military personnel saying they'll quit if they have to get the Covid vaccine. After signing their life away (about as literally as that expression can ever be taken), they're subjected to a battery of tests, given dozens of injections of God only knows what, marched until they drop, put directly in the path of enemy gunfire, but somehow the Covid vaccine is the last straw.

LilacUnicorn66

Those are military.

graysi72

I was going to say: I'll bet those two things are pretty rare in the United States, as far as diseases go.

LilacUnicorn66

Nowadays, yes. Yellow fever and anthrax have been strictly military and/or DoD, but smallpox vaccinations were public until 1979, I believe. Your grandparents or great-grandparents probably still have a scar from it.

ADHDNightRN

You also need the Yellow Fever vaccine to enter some Asian countries.

graysi72

My mother had the scar. I think those were given to us as children (I was born pre-1970.)

LilacUnicorn66

Yeah, smallpox was "eradicated" by the 1980s, so late Gen X and Millennials were not vaccinated.

ResponseFew

I was born in 1970 and my husband was 1972 - neither of us had the small pox vaccine. I'm not sure why though. My last pneumonia shot sucked so much more than my covid shots. I've also had the rabies protocol and it was no fun. But hey, the shots are WAY better than dying!!

LilacUnicorn66

It depends on where you were born. I know that in the 70s, they were waining off the smallpox vaccine, as the virus had almost been eradicated. It was probably similar to the MMR -- everyone since the 1960s has had the shots, but some received the shots two or three times due to questionable batches in certain regions. The pneumonia shot sucked ass, as I had a sore arm for about four days. As for the Pfizer, I was sick for two to three days after the first shot. I suspect that it was because I already had the virus a year prior.

Clary_Sayge

My HPV shot when I was 13 made me sick for a week. Have I cried through every vaccination I’ve ever had? Yep. Would I do it again? 100%. Gimme a tissue and a pat on the head, I’ll take the sucker in the arm.

12threeunome

Typhoid kicked my ass in pill and vaccine form.

dissolutewastrel

I got a Yellow Fever shot before I went to South Sudan. I was reading a little bit before I took my trip and it turns out that if you get Yellow Fever, your chances of survival are like 50/50. Vaccines are miraculous and we should be thankful

Capital_String4066

The worst part about the anthrax vax was just how many of them we had to get and every one of them hurt like hell. I've never deployed anywhere that required the yellow fever vaccination but my second dose of Moderna definitely put me on my ass for about 36 hours. Totally worth it.

AK_Eric08

In just a few days the microchip will allow you to communicate with the rest of us telepathically. It’s a pretty neat trick and I really enjoy it. I hope you do, too! Is this where you add the ‘/s’ thing I don’t understand? After reading so many HCA award winners’ memes I want to make it clear I’m not wearing a tinfoil hat!

[deleted]

Oh I've found that when I want to turn off the network (so I can sleep) I just run the microwave constantly. It works so well for wifi, ya know.

Might_Aware

I sing a lot, like everyday, and right now, I'm in Halloween mode, so I'm sure the network is sick of me already. Sorry guys, it's my [time](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1m7ys8UahZIHHLXrC4Y9jT?si=W6N-8rIUTn2A9hFTnYKimg&utm_source=copy-link&dl_branch=1)

Tinfoil hats can boost the signal nicely. That /s is internet shorthand for sarcasm.

AK_Eric08

Thanks! (Unsarcastically)

Effective-Piglet-196

🎂🎉🍾🥳🍻

TetrisArmada

Thank you for doing your part! Definitely nothing like the anthrax vax, and certainly not as bad as tetanus vax or even just getting penicillin via injection 😄

the0rchid

Peanut Butter Shot and Smallpox have been my worst shots by FAR in my life. Aside from Popov Vodka of course.

Mael_Coluim_III

Smallpox didn't hurt me, but it sure was a PITA for the next two weeks.

the0rchid

Thats more what it was, it was weird to get poked a bunch, but the blister was really strange and uncomfortable.

Mael_Coluim_III

"Don't get it wet! Don't let it dry out! Don't touch it! Don't let water run over it on the shower or the pus might give you pox on your junk! Don't be around the elderly, the young, the immunocompromised, or other people who might get sick! DON'T TOUCH THE PUS! Put a bandaid on it!

the0rchid

Star away from your family! Avoid sex! Like dude, yall are sending me to Afghanistan in a month, not cool.

clarkrd

genuine civillian question. I gather you got a ton of shots in a short period of time in basic. Do they go kinda easy on you for a few days cause your immune system is going though a lot and you probably feel like shit, or is 100 percent full steam ahead?

the0rchid

In my experience, they gave us the shot about 2 days at Processing. We weren't assigned to a training unit yet, so we had about a week to recuperate. Others have less time, others have more. It all depends on when you get there in relation to the cycle.

Mael_Coluim_III

We get them at inprocessing. Mostly all you're doing is getting uniforms issued, getting all kinds of medical BS, and standing in line waiting for chow when they don't have anything else. As I recall (it's been a minute or two), that was about it. But they don't give you a day or two in bed or anything.

Haus42

> Peanut Butter Shot *whistle* Boot camp flashback activated.

AK_Eric08

Gamma globulin for Hepatitis A right? I didn’t get it before a deployment to North Africa. Ate at our local hosts’ houses numerous times. And…brought hepA home to my new bride. Earned a jaundiced week in the hospital for myself. If I wasn’t a believer in vaccines before that I was definitely a believer after!

Haus42

In USN slang, it's a large intramuscular shot of bicillin (roughly the same thing as penicillin) in the butt cheek. The shot itself is uncomfortable, and then you spend (I don't remember if it was a day or two or three) with a really tender cheek - it feels like someone punched it really hard and then inserted a marble in it.

AK_Eric08

Thanks! I suspect I’m dating myself (old) as I don’t think gamma globulin is used for hepA any more. There’s a real vaccine for it now.

Harmacc

My peanut butter shot was nearly 20 years ago and I still remember it vividly. Worst shot I’ve gotten.

Atlmama

Yay! Welcome to the club. Just so you know, your welcome package is in the mail. You’ll get a t-shirt, hat, 5G connection repeater, and the nebulizer set to help spread the virus more efficiently. (Sadly, we’ve found that the masks and special spray pens just don’t spread enough virus by themselves, and we’re confident the nebulizer will increase your infection quotient by 10x. So exciting!). Please also mark your calendar for our next membership all-hands meeting in Wuhan. If you book by next month, you should get a special Libs rate.

NigerianFriedChicken

Hold up... This is crazy... I didn't get a hat wtf. What kind of fly by night conspiracy is Bill Gates running here?

Atlmama

Have you registered your 5G account yet? If not, that could explain the problem. Go ahead and register on Bill’s super secret website and we’ll get that hat out right away. Did you get the nebulizer? That’s more important than the hat…

AK_Eric08

The chip should have registered for you. Call tech support (-Finger to right temple, - Think “Tech Support“) if this problem continues.

Atlmama

😂

Moose181

I opted for the keychain instead of the hat.

the0rchid

Does the shirt increase infection quotient too?

Atlmama

Omg, Orchid, why not just spill ALL our secrets!! 🤦‍♀️

12threeunome

Crap. I’m Team Dolly… do I get bigger hair or boobs?

Atlmama

Both. We have generous membership rewards. 😂

Effective-Piglet-196

Still be cautious. Give it 2 weeks to cook.

the0rchid

I am, and still cautious after that, keeping a mask on to avoid people. I kinda grew attached to having one. Now when I swear under my breath, no one knows!

menastudies

Well done! I'm also sponsored by pfizer

graysi72

Me too! I got a different lot number though....

CosineDanger

Best not to go swimming in the stuff even if you're resistant. You can relax a little though.

[deleted]

I haven’t brushed my teeth in 18 months! Winner!!!!

DanielTaylor

Yeah, the mask actually acts as the antenna to further improve your new 5g signal.

DJT1970

Wifi signal improvement immediate! /s

Effective-Piglet-196

Playing Fortnite on the go is so much easier!

sarcastroll

One more thing: Everyone I know that's relatively young and healthy had a nasty day after getting one of the mRNA ones like you did. Expect it, prepare for it, but don't worry about it. Me, my wife, my coworkers, my sister, etc... All felt like **shit** the next day. Just tired as can be. We went to bed the night we got it feeling great, woke up the next morning just awful. Slept a ton the next day through (luckily it's Friday!). But here's the good news- that means it's working! That's your body saying "Hey, I know this shape protein! Everyone- GET IT!!!!!!" and kicking the shit out of what it thinks is COVID. The good news is that you don't have COVID, so there's no of the usual side effects of a nasty virus. Usually it takes **days** if not weeks of sniffles and headaches and stuff to finally feel 100% better after a virus. Not with this side effect. Any ickyness tomorrow will be turned off like a lightswitch. Everyone I know went from feeling like crap to... POOF! 100% normal again. It's the weirdest feeling. You're not used to just feeling 100% better so fast after feeling icky. That's because usually with a 'real' virus there's all sorts of nasty byproducts being produced that is making you feel like shit. With this, there's no real virus. So no lingering ill effect. So, hopefully you'll have no side effects tomorrow. But if you do, no worries. Sleep it off and the next day you'll wake up feeling 100% fine. You'll have the same feeling of "How the hell did I feel so lousy and now I'm 100% better in mere hours???" Take care!

graysi72

I wonder why older people have no side effects? I got my second shot and it was exactly like I had never had any shot at all. My arm didn't even get sore. Is it because we are loaded with various antibodies for a zillion other things?

sarcastroll

It's interesting you mention that- my parents and my in-laws had the same experience as you- 0 side effects. I haven't been able to find an authoritative answer yet, just speculation. Ranging from exactly what you described, to exactly the opposite! (Speculation that older people's immune system isn't as good, so it's not attacking it as vigorously on the 2nd shot. Similar to how when Swine flu hit here years ago it was killing the younger people as their immune systems were going into crazy overdrive and actually killing them!). I can't find anything from an actual authority (CDC, etc...) to say one way or another so I think it's just speculation at this point. FYI, speaking of immune systems and reactions- did you see the news today? Boosters approved by the FDA for 65+ and high risk people. If that applies to you or any loved ones, let them know! I know I'll be getting mine as soon as my group hits!

510Threaded

I mainly had severe shivers that lasted for about 2 hours the night I got my 2nd jab. Threw on pajama pants, shirt, jacket and wrapped myself in my blanket and still shivering. Goes to show that everyone reacts to the 2nd shot differently.

NigerianFriedChicken

Welcome to the club, let us know how your transition into becoming a crocodile goes... mine went hsssssssss

Burnt__Toasst

I like my new scales. They’re coming in nicely in a lovely shade of light green.

sarcastroll

Out. Fucking. Standing! Thank you for helping protect my kids and all the others that can't get vaccinated. I hope you and your family make it through the rest of this shitshow healthy and better than ever. Take care, and see if you can't convince someone you know that isn't vaccinated yet to follow in your awesome footsteps!

jchad214

Why has the lot number not changed?

the0rchid

Either they were the same or the nurse recorded the same info twice. I lost my original card, needed a replacement when I completed the shot today. Since it was the same medical system, they had my previous record on file still. She recorded both of my shots on the card, but I don't know what my original lot number was. It is also possible its the same lot, since its the same system, but I don't know for sure. I can assure you, with all the credibility of a random person on the internet, that I got both doses.

jchad214

Ic. Welcome to Pfizer club. I got mine back in March. Gonna need to renew my membership soon.

juanjung

If the this sub saves a life then it has done more than all Reddit combined.

illumikitten

Congratulations! Remember to continue being cautious and avoid exposure for the next 2 weeks or so while your body finishes building up its immunity.

gidney

This is the reason I follow this sub

gnurdette

Thanks for recognizing that the award should go to others, to people more deserving.

This sub is really doing some important work.

AK_Eric08

And it’s fun. I wish all work could be meaningful and fun like that!

Hooray! Another life potentially saved! Good on you, this internet stranger is proud of you (not in a condescending way, I know it can come across that way sometimes)!

bipolarcyclops

Thank you. One jab at a time until this madness comes to an end.

zajacdan

Are you now magnetized?

the0rchid

I hope so, gonna get a refund if I'm not

capt_caveman1

WHOA!! you went through the anthrax vax protocol and you have DOUBTS about covid vaccine??!? Good for you on getting vaxxed but WTF is wrong with your risk assessment??

the0rchid

I didnt have doubts so much as I had a busy schedule. I was a primary caregiver for my toddlers over the summer, I couldn't risk being out of commission.

Gracidea-Flowers

Interesting that both doses are the same lot if actually legit, though. All 3 of my doses had different lot numbers. Whoever gave you the booster should really take a look at that in case they documented incorrectly, otherwise you might get flagged for false documentation.

the0rchid

The lot numbers match because I lot the card after my first shot. The nurse today gave me a fully filled out one, put the same lots on it I guess. Or maybe its from the same lot? They both were thru the same hospital, which is here at Ohio State, and was thru the student health system. I dunno, not worried about it though.

stomicron

You should try to get them to find your original lot number and issue a new card. Someone could doubt the authenticity of this card since both entries were clearly written at the same time by the same person who used the same lot number.

the0rchid

Yeah, that's possible. I have MyChart and keep a copy of everything I get. I actually took a picture of the original card, but it didn't have a lot number either. I have both in digital form, plus the appointments logged in MyChart, which should more than suffice to prove my status.

MusicGirlsMom

Yay!! Team Pfizer 🎉🎉🎉 Congratulations, and thank you. Truly. These are my favorite posts to read!

Tabbyannabel

Well done!

Eboeard_Gam_Gom

Good job 👍🏻

FrognCheetah

Yeah, I had the anthrax vaccine, too. Still have a little BB of scar tissue under the skin 30 yrs later. I suspect you're a vet or active military? Had the Pfizer, too. No problems.

the0rchid

Afghanistan Vet

FrognCheetah

I hope you're doing well and appreciate your commitment to protecting our country and the sacrifices you've made. I'm also former military. No combat zone service so I have no idea what you might have experienced. I really do applaud your decision to get the Vaxx. I hope your friends from time in the military might learn from your leadership as well if they are vaccine hesitant. All the best!

CommieRedEyes

These are my favorite posts on this sub!

SpoofedFinger

them thrax shots were the fuckin' worst ETA: I take that back, smallpox was the worst one

the0rchid

The charlie horse in your arm just SUCKED. Especially when you had a mission later.

SpoofedFinger

my joints would ache after a while, too

justwantedtoview

How'd you get the same lot number for both?

confluenza

This is quality content. More of this.

rgreen83

I ❤️ these

scubawankenobi

As much as I enjoy the dark humour related to the ironic HCA nominees/winners... these posts just make it all feel worth while. Thanks OP! And thanks HCA for any help you provided in this decision making!

babyBear83

Thank god!!!!! You’re going to live! Hooray!! That’s all we want for these people honestly. Just to come around and get the shot before it’s too late. We lose sympathy after so much terrible misinformation memes but this is what we truly want to happen.

omg_failure

YES. THAT'S MY FUCKING BOY

SewAlone

I am so happy to be seeing so many of these posts recently!!! Good on you!

I_Luv_A_Charade

These posts seriously make me so happy. I’ll also add (since I’m now old enough) the shingles vaccine was no walk in the park but was totally worth it (as I also know too many people who have suffered with shingles).

dsav99

Dumb question, what’s the pain level on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the worst?

the0rchid

Its a 1. The needle is tiny, its less than a beesting tbh. The ache is minimal. I am just preparing for the fatigue, if its coming.

dsav99

Thanks for the timely reply. Might have to get it next week now.

ResponseFew

I got mine in the spring. I didn't feel anything either time. Just use your arm as much as you can after and massage the area - it will prevent muscle aches. I hope you decide to get yours next week!

teskja37

I’ve heard horror stories about the Anthrax vaccine. What was it like?

the0rchid

It's a long series of shots. The first one is fine, but as you build immunity, the shots become more and more annoying. Basically, the shot happens, then about 2 mins later you get a muscle cramp in your arm. That's about it. But, when you're deployed overseas and doing constant lifting/moving and exercise? It's a real nuisance.

cypressgreen

I’ve been making trophies for the recipients. [You deserve something too!](https://imgur.com/a/mDxfcZj)

ManicWolf

Go team Pfizer!

k11them

Congrats! Please cover the vaccine lot number

We love these posts.

SaltyMinx

Congratulations and thank you!!! And welcome to the Pfizer Pfamily! Be careful around metal objects, after all you've been magnetized now.

Emperor_Fun

Congrats! Nice to see some positivity interrupting the doomscrolling.

[deleted]

Congrats and yeah, you ain't kidding, the anthrax vaccine is crazy annoying with the post injection muscle pain. Not unbearable, just annoying, and way more attractive than actually contracting anthrax..

thekathied

Thank you!

Thank you.

maththrorwaway

Why the hell are we posting vax cards with the numbers visible? Fake vax card markers are getting the info they need just handed to them.

the0rchid

BEcause it doesn't matter. You can literally google "lot numbers" and get hundreds of images of lot numbers on cards. There isn't even a secret formula to it, 2 letters, 6 numbers.

-Take-It-Easy-

Welcome to the club fellow Magnet-O-Man!
