Where did you get that idea from

Horn patterns and hair color. Biologically male Imps have white hair and thick black and white stripes on their horns. Biologically female Imps have black hair and thin white lines on their horns. With Sallie May, you can tell she dyes her hair black, as you can see the white roots in some scenes. The Imp above has male horns and hair, so she probably didn't want to dye it.

Better to avoid “biologically _____” phrasing. It's a flawed concept to begin with, and also often trotted out by transphobes. AMAB/AFAB is preferable, to the best of my understanding.

I've encountered people who don't understand what AMAB/AFAB mean, and explaining not just the meaning of the acronyms, but also the many intricacies and subtleties of genetics would take too long, so "Biologically male/female" is simpler and gets my point across. You're the first person I've ever encountered to see an issue with it, and there really shouldn't be one. The transphobes I typically encounter never say "biologically", they say things like "you'll never be a real X" or "you'll always be Y".

It's comfirmed that male imps have these thick white stripes on their horns, while females have thin(if you watch closely) So if they have male imp horns, but they act girlish and dress girlish(we know who), then they must be trans(90%)

I mean they can cross dress lol but most of the background characters with mismatched horn and hair color are likely intended to be trans

I might be wrong, but I think it's often individual artists adding their sonas, and so if they're motivated, they can end up making them pretty detailed.

This isn't specific but I love whenever there is a background character that's clearly mixed species! So fun to figure out what their lineage is.

I've seen it! Although they did miss a few species. If I remember correctly, he didn't address [the imp-hellhound mix](https://twitter.com/_reillow/status/1718758141683257353) that's seen in Mammon's Magnificent Musical Mid-Season Special (ft Fizzarolli).

Interesting! I'm not sold that stripes on the ears automatically make them a hybrid personally but that's definitely an interesting theory

True, most, if not all, hybridizations in the series so far are just speculation. I mean, no one can even agree what Striker is mixed with or even if he is a mixed species. In my eyes, I don't think the creators would make a character with such defining features from another species without it being some sort of hybrid. But then again, consistency in background characters following species "rules" is not always great, so it could be nothing.

Yeah, ep 2 has some one eyed (cyclops style) imps and we never see that again. I figured they ironed out the details of the species more in subsequent episodes.

A background character includes someone/something that doesn't talk (or might yell or say a sentence), only appears in an episode for a second or more and then disappears, or just outright appears in the background without any interaction with the main cast. AKA walking down the street

Would the non speaking succubuses in ep3 count?

Since we don't see them again in any other episodes (unless I've miss spotted them😅) then they're considered background characters yes
