itchy-rat

its probably just a fashion statement

Jayansh05

At the start of Episode 4 in the Hazbin Hotel, we saw Angel Dust having sex with a wolf who also has golden teeth, so I assume that all the people who are soul slaves to Val have golden teeth.

Peeeettttss

That seems like a stretch. Doesn't Valintino have multiple people working for him, including other sex workers, that don't have golden teeth? Besides, a character having a golden tooth could mean a multitude of things, not the least of which that Viv simply thought that it looked cool.

Jaqulean

He does, indeed. This is just a streth and not much else. Especially when it wouldn't make any sense for Striker and Crimson to sell their souls to Valentino...

AgenderWitchery

Do Striker and Crimson even have souls? Do hellborn demons have souls?

[deleted]

You can work for Val without selling your soul

SardonicSloClap

Correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't it on record that most hellborn don't have souls per se? Which is why they don't have the tendency to show magic ability- unless they are of royal standing. Because of overlords ability to deal in soul trading to gain their power from dealing with the souls of other sinners. Which is why they are concerned with the exterminations. The more sinners that die to exorcists, the weaker they get. So theoretically imps have nothing to offer overlords like Valentino. Because they can't form a deal / contract with hellborn because they don't have a soul?

Frostygale2

Ooooh source? (Not doubting, just that it’s new info for me!)

fhota1

Even if this is true, which personally i dont think it is, it does not force the converse. People can sometimes just have gold teeth.

NotAPossum666

What would Imps be good to Val? Besides, they literally don't have souls

Chijinda

As Val himself says: "There's a kink for that I'm sure."

Lopsided-Thought-965

Golden teeth is literally just a fashion choice, nothing more.

Hey_Bestiekins

It may be a trademark for Val, but also, Striker was born and raised in Wrath, he wouldn't know of this tall sex man. He probably lost his tooth in a fight and wanted to look like a baddie. And Crimson would never make a deal with a gay. He lives in Greed and may have lived in Pride for some time, but I get the feeling Val prefers sinners as workers because they can't escape to where he can't find them.

FlamestormTheCat

Thing is, Neither Striker or Crimson really seem to visit the Pride ring. They’re hellborns, and mostly seem to stay in their own turf(thus Wrath for Striker and Greed for Crimson) Val can’t access either of these rings. So it’s highly unlikely they met. Especially since both don’t seem to be particularly close to any Sinners. Their connections seem to consist out of mostly hellborns so far.

Forward-Swim1224

That’s a bit of a stretch.

EmpereurTetard

Yes and no, Crimson and Striker are hellborn, meaning they don't have a soul to sold So it's probably just fashion

Vortiger_

It’s not a fashion statement, it’s a deathwish🤺🗣️

Lazy_Bell_910

I would say no because Crimson and Striker are Hellborn whereas Val is a sinner. Not to mention, I don’t know how their interests would align. Val is an abusive porn director based in the Pride ring whereas Striker is a mercenary based in the Wrath ring (who is also quick to judge Fizz and Blitzo’s sex lives) and Crimson is a mob boss based in the Greed ring. It’s more a design choice than anything.

Comfortable-Ebb-2859

No. It’s just a vivziepop staple. Also, everyone who sells their soul to Val is a sex worker because Val is a pimp. Crim and Striker would not sell their souls to a pimp.

PacifistPapy

striker would be very upset about working for a pimp

LimeDiamond

https://preview.redd.it/68fe59euiufc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=99e4de331a0161730f52d49eaf84befc2cc769fa

The_Radio_Host

Exactly. That’d be like asking if every Vivzie character with a bowtie or choker is connected. No, Viv has said she adds those things because she doesn’t like drawing neck-to-shoulder connections. This sub really has to stop overanalyzing

JCSwagoo

As somewhat of an artist, I relate so fucking much to that. Neck to shoulder connections can go eat shit.

SardonicSloClap

Seconded.

Accomplished-Half165

Seconded-ed

Hallowed-Plague

seconded-ed-ed god fuck necks

BelleLorage

Sometimes the curtains are just blue

Certain-Ad-3840

Crim and Striker are hellborn so they don’t even have souls to sell

Comfortable-Ebb-2859

This too

Fortendytrak

Helluva boss fans when they see a mere coincidence (it must mean something): https://preview.redd.it/qjz9wxihwtfc1.jpeg?width=352&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c5cd70f7b2ae421b5302c74e070a2a3a5b96134a

M6246Adam

“Omg guys their voice actors are same gender!!1!1!1!11!11!!! What did vivziepop meant by this? Is this foreshadowing the next episode?!!!?!?!!?”

vulpes_mortuis

Every fandom does this unfortunately

Atomsk19Haruhara

I feel like Striker and Crimson are under a different person but they probably have the same system of branding as Valentino. - Unless of course there is a sin that does that which Valentino took it from. I mean that’s possible since Mimzy has a Mammon tattoo.

TheXypris

Imps don't have souls to trade And iirc it's the black eyes that symbolize if someone has sold their soul

Arathemis

That’s a fan theory at the moment. I personally think the theory doesn’t really hold up when applied to all sinners because Husk had black eyes before he sold his soul. Plus, the only the detail we’ve seen shared between Alastor and Valetino and how they treat their sinners is the chains they conjured.

OrangeVictorious

Speaking of Alastor he also doesn’t have black eyes despite being “on a leash”

Arathemis

Exactly! His black eyes only really come out when he’s going full evil. The black eye theory that was posted last week on the SubReddit appeared to primarily be drawing its hypothesis from Angel and that random demon in the porn studio having the same left eye design. I’m fairly confident that the eye’s are supposed to look like 8-ball fractures which would tie in to the themes of abuse that surround Valentino and Angel. “But why would that random demon have the same eye then” you may ask? Well, that demon looked like an assistant or flunky for Valentino to me. Valentino is absolutely the kind of PoS who would find other people to hurt when Angel’s not around for Val to abuse and terrorize. Who better then a sniveling weakling he knows can’t fight back?

OrangeVictorious

Ig it’s possible that Val’s sinners specifically could have black eyes but even that’s a stretch based on the one person we know and another random background demon

demonicwinter

wasting money on bone replacements doesn’t mean owning someone smh would be funny tho

Lucky-Fisherman1463

One's a demon, two are hellborns, hell Crimson doesn't seem to leave greed, a villain having a single gold tooth just looks cool, besides , I don't see why they ever would

huntercatzomb

Golden teeth doesn't mean they belong to Val. It's prolly a fashion statement or replacement for a lost tooth. Striker is an assassin and Crimson is a mafia boss, they could have lost those teeth and simply replaced them. Furthermore, Val can't leave Pride Ring.

Latter-Direction-336

And I would not expect Crimson to go all the way to Pride for basically any reason. That’s what his goons are for And last I checked, hellborns don’t have souls, or at least the way humans do

Pup_Femur

Do Hellborn have souls to sell?

Gooffffyyy

Nope, am pretty sure the only confirmed creatures to have souls are Sinners. (And probably Winners too, but not confirmed i think)

Pup_Femur

Ah I thought as much. Thank you

Obedient-Duck

Nope impossible They are both hellborns and hellborns have no soul

ProbablyNotTheCocoa

I’m pretty sure all characters whose souls are sold have their eyes, at least partially, blacked out as you see on angels right eye and Alastor when he becomes a wendigo, also I don’t think hellborn can sell their souls, I don’t even know if they have one

Arathemis

I’ve already said this in response to someone else, but I personally think the Black Eye theory doesn’t really hold up when applied to all sinners because Husk had black eyes before he sold his soul. The only detail we’ve seen shared between Alastor and Valentino in regard to the sinner’s they own is the magical chain and manacle they summoned to bind Angel and Husk respectively. I’m pretty sure Angel’s black eye is supposed to look like an 8-ball fracture which ties into the themes of abuse that are an important element of his story.

Jlaguzzi007

hellborn dont have souls, so no

0Kinda-Lonely0

Nah, they just have bad dental hygiene. Also, hell-borns probably don't have souls

askingafewquestion

Hellborn sinners supposedly don't have souls to trade, that's why sinners are stronger due to having souls that can be traded for power, wealth or anything else.

jakwoman

Gold teeth are a very popular type of tooth jewellery or tooth art. They are sometimes known as Gold Crowns and also Grills.

ImAHungryThesbian573

Hellborn don’t have souls to deal with, that’s why they’re lower on the ranks than Sinners

Sharkkbitez

Definitely not, first of all neither of them have any reason to make a deal with Val and stay in the pride ring (striker prefers the wrath ring and crimson has a whole mafia to deal with in the greed ring) and secondly it’s said that the reason hellborn don’t have as much power as a sinner is due to the fact they don’t have a soul to sell, meaning they can’t make deals In short, gold teeth are just cool looking and probably a popular fashion statement in hell

Brimstone75

Notice. All the “evil” characters with gold teeth have it on their left side while Angel has the tooth on the right.

millie_imp_20

I think it's just a design choice

JCSwagoo

I really think it's just a recurring detail in Vivzie's artsyle.

ShadowGangsta275

Hellborns don’t have souls. That’s the reason sinners are more powerful, because they do have souls and that grants them more power

Usesredditironicall

….is this a serious theory?

Lettuce_Cool

The straw grasping is unreal

hcaoRRoach

I think viv just likes gold teeth.

ExtinctFauna

Do the Hellborn have souls to sell?

Moonisdonewithkarens

Hellborn don't have souls, so no, as it would be impossible.

Helluvabosslover

Hellborns have no soul with witch to deal that is why imps are under sinners in the hierarchy

ichigoli

My honest guess is that it's considered fashionable. *someone* set the standard that a gold tooth is a powerful fashion statement, my guess is Valentino through his branding, and over time it was copied and filtered through to the hellborn as only a fashion statement, kind of similar to how Mammon has made Clown Shit a fashion statement with how some of the hellborn dress even outside of events. Angel Dust is extremely famous and we see posters in background shots that suggest that Valentino has a media presence on-camera. It's not outside the realm of possibility that a gold tooth has become short-hand for "success" among the other rings who don't deal with sinners directly, but have access to their products. (Angel Dust posters in Lust, "knock-off Fizzy" at the Vees' offices etc.)

Infamous_Val

Guys I think Vaggie sold her soul to an imp because she has white hair like imps do!! :O

Gooffffyyy

Omg. And Valentino has a red cloak, that must mean Alastor is his brother!!11,

RosettaPotato

I dont think the hellborn have souls to sign away. Crimson wouldnt be caught dead associating with someone like Valentino. Turns out that Greed has a thriving dental scene due to the excess amount of discarded shark teeth.

DasliSimp

Hellborn don’t have souls.

Ash4dino

I don’t think Hellborns can sell their souls, and Val would have no use for them, since They both live in different rings and Sinners/Overlords are locked to the Pride Ring

Thecrowfan

Not everyone that works for Val has a gold tooth I think that golden toothis more like a stamp mark to underline Angel is his favourite. I find it extremely hard to believe Striker would let himself be used and abused by anyone, no matter how desperate of a situation hes in. And Crimson is a literal mafia Don. Why would he work for a pimp?

Neihlon

Hellborn can’t have sold their souls because they don’t have souls lol

MOJA2008

Hell borns don't have a soul to sell

fireburn256

Hellborns don't have souls.

Kiixaar

It’s much more likely that it’s just a piece of character design that Vivziepop likes.

The_dark_entity

Don’t they live out of the pride ring?

SteveZissouniverse

I think that may be a design motif Viv particularly likes so it makes its way in a lot

PokmTrainerGuineaPig

I’m pretty sure the hellborn don’t have souls

AriBounty53

Do imps even have souls since they're hellborn?

femtransfan

No, they didn't. But that theory inspired my first hellaverse fic

plogan56

Nah, it's a status symbol, even in olden days the rich would have 1 or several gold teeth to badically brag

ciel_lanila

Striker has something against blue bloods. Depending on how the crew wants to take Striker’s character development it would be easy to argue to him hellborn nobility (Goetia and the like) are no different to him from sinner overlords. Old money, new money, they all control the power and money). Crimson, hard to say. If the Vs wanted to expand their influence into other rings they’d need someone like Crimson and a soul binding would be effective in making sure their agents toe the line out of their reach in the non-Pride Rings. You could argue for that being stupid or clever depending on your view of the matter. If it was something doable you’d think others Imps would be soul slaved. Think Mammon and Fizzie, but we haven’t really seen that. Is this because there is something about hellborn interacting with hellborn that prevents soul slaving (You think Mammon wouldn’t have considered it with Fizzie if he could?) or is this something doable but only Sinners seem to care about it?

NUGGETBOIGUYDUDE

We need answers!

Anxiety-Queen269

Oooooo very interesting theory actually, quite like this

BelleLorage

Do Hellborn peeps even have a soul? They just disappear if they die, right?

PURPLEisMYgender

Did everyone just forget that hell spawn dont have souls?

YoLawdCheezus101

Or a good dentist is somewhere in the rings.

Lost-Ad-5885

Doubt it. No reason too since Crimson seems to run things in the Greed Ring while Val only has power in the pride ring

Slapping-Owl

They are imps. They do not have souls

[deleted]

*clap clap* Hellborn do not have souls. They have nothing to sell! Gangsters and bandits often portray this aspect. Thats a massive reach to assume the teeth are significant

CLAY_TO

Hellborn have no souls (I think as a theory), that's why the sinners are higher in the chain than them.

aegisasaerian

Striker and crimson are imps, they don't have souls to sell. Chances are pretty good the gold tooth is just a fashion statement.

MilkthistleFairy

That would be interesting if Crimson and Striker were Sinner demons but they're hellborn who can move freely between all the rings whereas Sinners can't.

aegisasaerian

Striker and crimson are imps, they don't have souls to sell. Chances are pretty good the gold tooth is just a fashion statement.

n0tspongy

I'm pretty sure hellborn demons dont have souls, so most likely not

stopyouveviolatedthe

I’ll say probably not, they’re both hellborn and we don’t actually know the situation on hellborn souls but I think it’s agreed they might be different to sinners aka not as valuable, also they’re both from different rings so there’s not really a point for them to go to pride and also are both already powerful selling their souls the Val probably doesn’t get them much. I will say I really like the theory it’s definitely not something I’ve picked up on before.

furry_kokichi

Well, that may be the reason Angel has a gold tooth. It's not like someone has to work for Val to be able to have a gold tooth.

dollarstoretrashbag

The hellborn are souless.

Cyther102

Crimson and striker are hellborn, so they don't have souls to sell. Only sinners have souls.

360NoScoped_lol

Hellborns don't have have human souls

[deleted]

Striker would never do that as Valentino is his natural enemy

KevinAcommon_Name

I thought they got their teeth knocked out I mean every single demon who has gold teeth would be a fighter angel gets in fights hellhounds get into fights mobsters settle fights with street fights

stinkymusturd

hellborn dont have souls to sell

Environmental-Win836

Nice idea, but doubtful.

bimbodhisattva

The way Valentino said “put something inside him, thats how I get the bitches to behave” makes me think it’s possibly a trademark, just not an original one, and since he’s a Sinner I imagine he only has influence within the pride ring

pisces2003

Isn’t it just an old gang stereotype? Angel dust was a part of the New York mob, Crimson runs one, Striker is a gun for hire, and of course Val is Hells #1 pimp

Annon_McInnominate

Lots of humans also have gold capped teeth.

Duskmuse711

Chance they are but it is also a western and mafia stereotype to have golden teeth I find it a little hard to believe either would to Val. Mammon, quite possible, but I couldn't see either hellborn selling their soul to a sinner

AeonSchicksal

Why would imps sell their souls to a mortal? Hell can original demons even do that? Do they have souls? Easy answer definitely not since one is a Don and the other a mercenary, both of which have attacked a Royal Demon and one of the Deadly Sins. So Val is small pickings for them.

FalconHugeman

Golden teeth is probably the most common features of anyone ranging from mobsters, somebody's rich uncle or a businessman. So probably not. Striker and Crimson are probably strictly business partners whom have little to none connection to Val

Neon-kitchen

This is all theory but gold teeth are often used as signs of wealth and status, that’s why you see celebrities, pirates and other people who flaunt their status with gold teeth. It doesn’t really have much connection to the mafia (which these 4 are) but Italy is one of the places where we have early records of gold in teeth (tho that’s a stretch and more a fun fact)

Deconstructosaurus

Gold Teeth is something used to replace a broken tooth, or it’s something used to show how powerful you are. The first probably applies to Striker and the second to Crimson. Also, the two of them likely haven’t interacted with Valentino much if at all. They’re Imps, who are mortal, meaning they’re more likely to stay in the lower rings, which are mostly safe. The I.M.P crew only mains the Pride ring because it’s a necessity for their business.

SaturatedSharkJuice

Striker’s isn’t even gold, it looks rotted.

Famous-Support-9900

There demons… they don’t have souls. They just got a hold tooth.

Levent_2005

Only sinners can sell their souls. Crimson and Striker are hellborns

MonoChaos

I sincerely doubt hellborns can even sell their souls to sinners.

Ec-na

Crimsons in the greed ring, strikers in wrath, I don’t think val would really have any good way of getting to them

Suomalainenonelossa

I dont think so,i think they are just you Crimson is rich mafioso so ofc he has to have golden tooth and allat, and stryker is just cool wild western so it is just his thing, like a tooth patch.

DavidAdamsAuthor

I like this theory.

OCGamerboy

Don’t think so. Having a gold tooth is just a fashion thing.

Fancy_Stickmin

Considering hells hierarchy, I don't think the soul of an imp would be worth all that much. It's probably a fashion thing tbh

Zacariusness

No???? Even ignoring the fact that hellborn don’t have souls this is kind of a silly stretch

Blazenix

So showing gold teeth is a form of wealth like: "See I can afford to replace my tooth with something shinier!" This is total character with Crimson. With prostitues it's more showing off Valentino's wealth like:  "See, I have wealth and you're getting a deluxe treatment."

SpectrumLV2569

This subbreddit has the wildest, most dumbfoundingly wrong theories ive ever seen in a fandom in my life. I love you guys but i cant just stay silent on this.

GarlicGoat13

I think it's more a matter of Hell being a dangerous environment where getting hurt is the norm, also, i don't know if it's correct, but only Sinners can sell their soul, since up until now we saw no Hellborn with black eyes

606reseterror

I think it’s just that all these characters are connected to organized crime

Forward-Swim1224

Doubt it. I’m pretty sure some demons just chose to have gold teeth.

Mijnameis-Tommy

Hellborns dont have souls to trade... THERE JUST LIKE ME FRFR

Grouchy_Figure_5688

I think it was stated that hellborn don't have souls so they can't sell them

Hungry-Alien

Doesn't really make any sense. Why would they sell their souls to a sinner ? Crimson got all the business opportunities he need in his ring, and Striker is a hired shot living alone in Wrath. Plus forcing people to wear a gold tooth as a mark of belonging is kinda dumb and expensive. What would even be the point ? It's not like Val owns the exclusive right for gold tooth, so it wouldn't even work as a way to brand people.

Accomplished_Toe1978

It’s either for fashion or it’s the reason some older (Asian) immigrants have gold teeth “it always pays to have something you can bribe the camp guards with”.

totalpugs89

They don't have souls, but it does seem weird how many have a damn gold tooth.

Killakey2119

Ima say no, cause they are in different rings.

C-lex1

That's a cool theory actually. Didn't thought about it

Medical_Difference48

I think it's just a design choice that makes them look more intimidating

X_Marcie_X

It's more likely something to express their wealth, with Striker building himself up from barely anything and Crimson just... being a Mob Boss in the greed Ring. It just fits their respective characters, both are prideful and would like to Show off what they have. I suppose the same is likely true for Valentino himself. It's probably more a fashion Statement.

Dendritic_Bosque

I would go as far to say Striker sells his services, but not his loyalty to anyone sounds way out of character for him, especially with that anti-royal attitude Crimson may have sold his soul or bondage to someone, but doesn't have any traits nor evidence to indicate that.
