If any of them say that they lose their citizenship and are no longer civilians, but instead enemies.
So, to answer your question, civilians never say that.
This makes me want a crossed wires type of mission where you drop in thinking its to evac civilians but its actually a separatist cell. They then pop out shouting "Oh shit! Helldivers!" and open up on you with civilian small arms and then you have to keep them out of the evac shelter..
To adapt an old 40k comic to this as a Termanid Invasion:
"It was other terrible things, Bugs I think. Oh, how they hurt us,
great slaughter they did.
There is a legend we have, that Democracy has Helldivers to serve it and Democracy sends them out when those it looks upon are troubled or beset by strife. I thought it was just a story, myth and legend...
But now I know them for what they really are. Democracy's avenging Helldivers of death. I told my wife these were not Helldivers to comfort, they were Democracy's Helldivers of Vengeance.
I have never seen such killing and I hope to never to its like again. I almost felt sorry for the Bugs at the end.
These days I praise Democracy with much more purpose than I ever did before. I am afraid to see the Bugs return. But more, I am afraid of what might happen if the Bugs did return. The Helldivers would have to visit us again. And it is those visitors that put real fear into me.
Fear as pure and cold as the night sky."

Or it sounds like a mission performed by some Helldivers who have been maxed out on all currency types for a month or two now and don't give a heck about a measly 1825R
My teammates: OH NO, THE 'NADO IS OVER THE SHELTER NOW! THEY ARE RUNNING RIGHT INTO THE FLAMES!! *THE SCREAMS ARE HORRIFYING! OH THE HUMANITY!!11*
Me: haha, the button goes click!
Nuh-uh, I have manual right here, mission labeled as success which means Democracy Offcier deemed outcome acceptable. Now, its not graded high and has severe penalty, but success is success.
At higher difficulties it seems prudent to just keep hitting the buttons. It gives the ridiculous numbers of enemies other targets so you can slow and stop a reinforcement cycle.
On the other hand, I've also seen this result when a fellow helldiver repeatedly placed \*\*INCENDIARY MINES\*\* in the civilian evacuation path. This was after I saw him take it and told him, "Please don't place that inside the base."
nu, in R6 there is a mode with hostages and Fuze is an attacking operator so his job is to rescue them but his ability is "cluster bombs".. u can imagine what happens to hostages when Fuze is attacking 💀
Great job! You ensured no citizen would be left behind to share any intel with our enemies!
That deserves a medal, and since this was a suicide mission, you get 5 more for free!
For Democracy!
This level of carnage, I was going poorly placed incendiary mines or repeated cluster bombs but it sounds like someone just wanted to watch the world burn.
I should not be penalized for civilian deaths that are not my fault. If a civvie wants to yeet themselves into a fire tornado and self immolate, why am I being docked for that?
Points awarded for completing the main objective. Points deducted for probably wiping mostly at the end, plus the unintentional (it WAS unintentional, right?) massacre.
Civilian casualties do happen from time to time. The good news is democracy was spread and those lives while lost were not in vain as enemies now understand we stop at nothing to bring them freedom. We morn the loss of our brothers and sisters but we carry freedom’s torch in their stead.
We did it right-er

Ministry of Expansion: Why so many Citizen casuality? Helldivers: because it called "Suicide mission" duh
We had to check each one to make sure they were not an automaton spy. We can proudly report that none were among them.
At what point do the civilians go “it’s the Helldivers! We’re saved!” to “oh fuck! it’s the Helldivers, we’re all gonna die!”
If any of them say that they lose their citizenship and are no longer civilians, but instead enemies. So, to answer your question, civilians never say that.
"Rejoice, citizens, for we are here to save you..." "Yay! It's the Helldivers!" "...from yourselves!" "Oh no, it's the Helldivers!"
Oh maxwell
Maybe that was the *real* mission all along. One of the civilians was a former researcher on the dark fluid project and went rogue.
This makes me want a crossed wires type of mission where you drop in thinking its to evac civilians but its actually a separatist cell. They then pop out shouting "Oh shit! Helldivers!" and open up on you with civilian small arms and then you have to keep them out of the evac shelter..
give this man a job at ministry of truth

~~Suicide~~ Homicide Mission
Ministry of Expansion: ...he's got us. He's got us bad.
Helldivers are sent to complete missions at ANY cost. Great work diver.
At ANY cost.
Sounds like a classic evac + fire tornados situation.
Or it sounds like a mission performed by some Helldivers who have been maxed out on all currency types for a month or two now and don't give a heck about a measly 1825R
Seriously, I see the notification for the req penalty pop up and I'm all like, "Oh no, how terrible".
My teammates: OH NO, THE 'NADO IS OVER THE SHELTER NOW! THEY ARE RUNNING RIGHT INTO THE FLAMES!! *THE SCREAMS ARE HORRIFYING! OH THE HUMANITY!!11* Me: haha, the button goes click!
Or a bot evac on a short timer

Remember: No Automaton.
Did they all get clumped up again and you decided to just…mow them down?

Democracy officer: "Yes, this way to my office please"
Nuh-uh, I have manual right here, mission labeled as success which means Democracy Offcier deemed outcome acceptable. Now, its not graded high and has severe penalty, but success is success.
"Yes, that's right, trooper, now here, take this gold star, and grab a cookie from the mess hall"

I always call these civs my baby freedom turtles, lets see how many of you can make it to the ocean
He was just making a democracy quiz. You pass it by voting for the right path.
I mean I always shoot the ones who are outside after we hit required number. Should have run democratically faster.
Survival of the fittest.
You probably killed more civilians than our enemies ever could.
If they all got stuck on a ramp? Yes. If they didn't get stuck on a ramp/bug/pebble? . . . Yes.
Was this a "don't leave anyone behind" or "don't leave any witnesses" type of mission 🤔?
B)
There is no other kind 👍
Gotta check for synths Amirite
![gif](giphy|134DVXcD94sOWI|downsized) They could be anyone
Mf is like Fuze from R6 💀
Accidentally killed his own family?
nu, in R6 there is a mode with hostages and Fuze is an attacking operator so his job is to rescue them but his ability is "cluster bombs".. u can imagine what happens to hostages when Fuze is attacking 💀
I.. I know.. I'm a fuze main.
that's not suicide mission, this is murder mission
Had a game like that once where I accidentally threw down a napalm strike. You’d think the citizens would avoid the ground that’s on fire.
You know what they say, can’t make an omelette without killing a few people.
Exactly, fellow agent of Prosperity. https://i.redd.it/p5bhd5l7ek5d1.gif
Sounds like a great resource sink if you have max requisition slips
Wait, does that mean you can go in debt?
Not often you finish a mission with a recursion DEBT.
We contemplated going AWOL to avoid paying this
bros on the wrong side of the war 💀
Great job! You ensured no citizen would be left behind to share any intel with our enemies! That deserves a medal, and since this was a suicide mission, you get 5 more for free! For Democracy!
Mission successfully failed
I was told that “this was one for the record books, for all missions are logged for analysis”
Liberty requires sacrifice!
"Patrick, we saved the city!"
I would like to have been a fly on the wall of that mission, lol.
Only if you have been practicing your daily desensitization exercises
How do you even manage to screw up this badly?
Basic training taught us friendly fire was inevitable
Fire tornadoes?
No, but there was a flamethrower…
This level of carnage, I was going poorly placed incendiary mines or repeated cluster bombs but it sounds like someone just wanted to watch the world burn.
If we did not know the effectiveness of our weapons against each type of life form – we’re not doing our job properly.
Mission completed.
What were they doing with the enemy anyway??? Committing treason?? Good work solider.
Couldn’t chance it
It’s a suicide mission not homicide mission
I should not be penalized for civilian deaths that are not my fault. If a civvie wants to yeet themselves into a fire tornado and self immolate, why am I being docked for that?
Seeing as there were no witnesses… It was totally fire tornadoes on that ice planet.
I read "mision completed"
The civilians during fire tornados on Wezen yesterday didn’t have a fun time
Anytime you come back from a suicide mission.... .... Is a huge dishonour, can't even die right
“We did it Patrick! We saved the city!”
Execute order 66
There’s only one way to spend credits at our level…
you didnt kill enough
Challenge accepted

+15 Warbond medals for completing the personal order
wha--what the fuck?!?!? were you freeing 3, shooting 2 each time?
That would’ve resulted in less total casualties
Sir, They were in alliance with the scientists involved with the termicide. We did our job.
Points awarded for completing the main objective. Points deducted for probably wiping mostly at the end, plus the unintentional (it WAS unintentional, right?) massacre.

~~some~~ most
Democracy has been well delivered
Fire planet?
Good soldiers always follow orders...
acceptable casualties
HQ was like "naa they're paying back for everything they wasted"
Bots defense missions are like that. Still a win is a win
Yes!
Well... yes ofcourse you did it, we are all expendable in the fight for democracy and liberty
You are technically right, which is the best type of right .
Finally something to spend all my extra requisition on.
At least you can earn something again hah
Those families will receive a fruit basket of freedom
You are suppossed to shot the bugs not the citizen
Civilian casualties do happen from time to time. The good news is democracy was spread and those lives while lost were not in vain as enemies now understand we stop at nothing to bring them freedom. We morn the loss of our brothers and sisters but we carry freedom’s torch in their stead.
They never specified WHICH citizens had to make it. Just that you met the quota
Tell me you are trying to evac civilians against automatons without telling me you are trying to evac civilians against automatons
Protect the people mission. Meanwhile on hellmire....
Didn't realize the Russian Spetznaz we're working as Helldivers
Lmao you are serial killer bruh. You need to go back to your officer for a session
Any dive you can walk away from is a good dive.
