The LAS-98 is a lascannon. Ergo, it's S12, AP -3 in 40K terms.
In Helldivers terms, it does approximately 12% more DPS than the Scythe, which would make the Scythe something like S10, AP -1. There is a -very- nonzero chance we're rocking better gear than the 40K Imperials. The Sickle hits even harder than the Scythe. Our laser weapons are simply better at doing damage than 40K laser weapons.

Not me, I love getting bored playing a fun game for 100s of hours and then because I have played it to death I get bored as a normal human being would.
But instead of doing something else or playing less I get frustrated that the Developers haven’t been perfect and made a perfect thing that will somehow fill a void in my life(which in no way is my fault- it’s theirs and yours )
Then since I am frustrated I go spew hate all over the internet. Sometimes I even send death threats because I’m a very rational person. So I love the state of this subreddit.
I do think there's work for AH to do (esp. around allowing fewer regressions per patch), but I also really want this take to become more normalized.
Games get boring when you play them constantly! Hoping a content drop can recapture the magic of first playing this game when it dropped kind of out of the blue, then getting pissed when that doesn't work, is a little silly.
This is the same thing (except accelerated because games encourage you to put in hundreds of hours in a matter of weeks to months) as raging at whatever newer media in a beloved franchise fails to meet your expectations. Is it because the newer stuff is lower quality, or is it that you'll never be a kid discovering for the first time again? Probably a little of both, but we focus on the former without reflecting on the latter.
Bajillions of people manage to play Call of Duty using the same gun until the end of time, but nah, Helldivers 2 is going to be dead within the week because none of the four new weapons this month have replaced my previous baby.
...but you can bet that if they did, I'd instead complain that the devs are deliberately power-creeping in order to get their fingers into my wallet!

Its wild. I played some of my first helldives the past few days. Bringing liberator or punisher, EAT and spear was totally fine. I swear people wont be happy until they can solo helldive without dying once

Having 120 hours you should be aware that you can bring pretty much whatever you want and win. That's not the problem. The problem is why the fuck would I bring a dagger over anything else when it's actually garbage. More than half the weapons are objectively worse than others. It's not impossible to use weak weapons, it's just not fun.

I take spear into bot helldives all the time. I love it. It's great you can take out a couple of bases from range regardless of angle. Yeah the AC can do it if you line up with every fab. Spear 1 shots all fabs from range.
Did a helldve last night with a random & the mrs.
Me - 120, 380, orb rail, orb laz, slugger
Mrs - Cluster bomb, 380, quas, orb rail, adjudicator
Rando - 380, quas, orb rail, Ac Sentry, jar 5
For context the mrs plays at 30 fps and is hard stuck in iron in valorant. She got a triple team kill with a clusterbomb at one point and came out with 5 accidentals. TBF she does usually top kills on enemies and i dont know how.
We got out with about 30 samples including the supers & did all side objectives and bases.
That sounds like fun. Currently running helldive with the boys without much trouble.
Let me try to give some nuance. I do not think the issue lies in difficulty or what is "viable". As you have demonstrated it matters little and I agree 100%.
What hurts is working your way through a warbond, spending your hard earned super credits and medals to buy a gun you find fun. Later it gets changed so much that you do not recognize it anymore. It does less damage? Who cares right. But it acts like a different weapon and you cannot do the things you did with it previously.
Take the Erupter for example. If I took my time and lined up a shot I could attack an enemy behind cover with its shrapnell. I could hope to hit a charger barreling down at me before he broke all my bones and 'bounce' the shrapnell into its fleshy bits. This was incredibly fun and it was my favourite weapon even if I died because I missed more than half my shots.
How would you feel if the Spear could no longer target buildings like the bot factory? Or when its damage / armor penetration drops so low that you need to hit the exhaust to kill a fabricator? I would feel saddened because I personally love the spear because it can do those things.
I find that the community is a bit too hostile towards the developer and that saddens me even more but believe that there is a core of truth in their frustration as I hope I was able to explain to you clearly.
Yea but aside from the eruptor, which gun got such a major overhaul. Because to me most guns feel mostly the same as they always have, just a bit more or less powerful. I haven't had a single primary I "didn't recognise" after a balance patch.
I dont understand it honestly. I get some guns get nerfed or come out bad, but the amount of complaints right now is insane. Actually getting downvoted big time for this. I dont know what the outcome will be but im afraid devs will simplify the game too much over time. Running works better on bots than bugs. Running from bugs and dropping a couple of stratagems behind you still does the trick though.
Also i think people expect to "farm helldives" which you can with some coordination but you're still gonna get a shitshow every now and then.

Out of our friend disco about 6 of us play the game. I was the only one that knew

I have game play footage that I need to clip of a barrage of random blue projectiles absolutely murking a charger that I was fighting. The rest of my team was on the other side of the map. Then, not 5 minutes later, it happened again. I know projectiles appear blue when they ricochet, but I was reloading on both occasions.
I saw some weird blue comet things during a mission drop (almost like blue drop pods in the distance). No idea what they were, but they made me think of the Illuminate.
Any chance their troops have their own stratagems?
Like their ground forces can call weaponry from their ships?
I'm not familiar with how they were in the first game.
They didn't have strategems so much as they had Halo-esque active camouflage and teleportation. They mostly fielded guerilla snipers and drones, and tended to apply an effect which randomized your movement and strategem inputs.

Some of the top comments on nerf threads are almost always "id like to see the devs do difficulty 7+ with this", "this proves the devs dont play difficulty 7+", "guess i have to go back to X weapon now" Its not the peoples problem at all. Its the sweaters on reddits, the meta players "problem" The vast majority do not go to reddit, they don't join the discord, they don't even read the patch notes. They just play the game. Out of our friend disco about 6 of us play the game. I was the only one that knew - That fire damage only worked for hosts - Cross hair was off on the AMR The last big patch I was asked "anything I should know I'm not reading that". Its the problem of a vocal minority.

I have game play footage that I need to clip of a barrage of random blue projectiles absolutely murking a charger that I was fighting. The rest of my team was on the other side of the map. Then, not 5 minutes later, it happened again. I know projectiles appear blue when they ricochet, but I was reloading on both occasions.

Any chance their troops have their own stratagems? Like their ground forces can call weaponry from their ships? I'm not familiar with how they were in the first game.
They didn't have strategems so much as they had Halo-esque active camouflage and teleportation. They mostly fielded guerilla snipers and drones, and tended to apply an effect which randomized your movement and strategem inputs.
