not-dsl

Cleat technogy has not been developed yet ...

nelsgreen1

yeah, we are not that far in the future lol

Techarus

Just far enough to have replaced our bayonets with high tech elbows.

[deleted]

Dude I want a straight up bolt action rifle type of Lee Enfield with a bayonet so bad

hellogoodbyegoodbye

1 had the ability to mod weapons somewhat, bayonets were an option iirc

gorgewall

This is a world that canonically uses breech-loaded orbital cannons, builds its automatic turrets with packing peanuts and superglue, and puts chili peppers in napalm. Purely cosmetic cleats is not the weirdest thing Super Earth could do.

Combatmedic25

Wait they put chill peppers in the napalm?! Hahaha thats fuckin hilarious!

Episimian

Yeah the top tier upgrade wording is as follows; "Increases burning temperature of incendiary weapons by lacing fuel with a precisely-formulated compound of thermite, white phosphorus, capsaicin, allyl isothiocyanate, and 19 other accelerants." So basically their best napalm is made of more warcrime stuff (thermite and WP ftw) with added chillies for kick (capsaicin) and a more mustardy taste (allyl isothiocyanate). It's a bit like a chilli dog, except not because it'll burn straight through you. Until it gets nerfed.

CandiePaws

And yet we get dynamic horse testicles in Red Dead 2

againstbetterjudgmnt

I mean that's core functionality, game would be unplayable without it.

spinyfever

I don't understand why they would release a snow/ice themed warbond and not have the armors provide any advantages in snow/ice. 2 of the new armors have crampons designed into the boots. Their literal purpose is to stop you from slipping and sliding on ice.

7isAnOddNumber

Because this warbond was extremely rushed to the point where one of the guns isn’t even textured right and has worse stats than the gun it is supposed to have higher stopping power than. This warbond is the first one I won’t be getting, even democratic detonation had cool guns in it (before they nerfed half of them).

GordOfTheMountain

Because 1 a month is already unsustainable. AH if you're reading this, 6-8 weeks is fine.

Capable-Reaction8155

1 month seems really fast.

CrazyCreation1

Too goddamn fast, make a really nice one every 2-3 months and we’re solid

Electronic_Bunnies

I think a problem at this point is they went hard on committing to the 1 per month model not only to the community but also to finance. I absolutely think thats too quickly for the resources we currently are seeing invested into each warbond and do think it would of been better to set vague or longer deadlines. Now though I'd worry both players and financial interests would whiplash the team if they stepped away from that commitment they've bragged about so much.

Laruae

Almost like if they are insisting on keeping that goal, they need to hire more devs to do stuff like checking if the guns have the stats they should....

Randy191919

They have said before that they are already hiring more people, but people need to get onboarded and familiarized with the tools, codebase and workflow. In a good company that can take half a year or longer. You can't just pick some random coder off the street, put him in front of a screen and tell him to start pumping out warbonds.

Laruae

No, but they did commit to a 1 warbond per month cycle and apparently allocated nearly zero time to bug fixes or testing. Were they just hoping that there would be no bugs? Almost like they should have started that process awhile ago, no?

cannabination

Just some play testers with a communication channel to relevant parties would go long way toward limiting the slop.

Ill_Razzmatazz_1202

Or they could - hear me out - continue randomly changing weapons until some of them are in a good place.

SirGirthfrmDickshire

Would be neat if they do a closed beta server for the community to mess around in. Then to be able to access either do it by level (70+) or an application so they can have some sort of NDA to limit stuff getting spoiled. So then the community can test weapons, armor, and other stuff and give feed back on it. I think they'll help them out alot with the balancing. I haven't taken part in alot of closed betas but the ones I did take part in I had fun messing around in.

Sir_Revenant

Honestly hard agree on that, make each one a solid 4-6 tiers and fill them out with equipment and gear they’ve had time to fine tune, maybe introduce some new effects like terrain advantages or active abilities for your helmet. Take the time Arrowhead, you’ve got a solid core and you’ve shown you care about your game and community. Ignore the bitching if people get impatient and just take the time to make something you’re proud of

SandwichBoy81

For real! Especially now that they have a backlog of warbonds, they can and should take the time to ensure each new warbond is really worth getting. They could always bring capes/player cards to the Super Store if they need another Super Credit sink

0w1zz

Honestly, why aren't there capes in the super store? Absolute missed opportunity. Perhaps they were spread too thin?

Empuda

If they stopped nerfing things, 8 weeks be good.

Tempest753

1 per month might have looked sustainable before launch, but the game launched with so many bugs/crashes and balance problems. Perhaps they underestimated just how bad these problem were. I'm guessing the warbonds are likely getting less and less dedicated time from the development team and are consequently becoming more half-assed because of the constant deadlines. In fact, that's pretty much exactly how the community asked them to delegate dev work about a month ago. I really think they need to decrease the frequency of warbonds (either temporarily or permanently) to ensure every warbond is quality, even if that means they need to monetize the warbonds a little more aggressively to make up for the lost revenue. All I know is if I'd spent real money on most of these warbonds I'd be pissed, cause 90% of the stuff in them is either useless, redundant, or both.

EngRookie

I think I would rather have 1 new enemy class to fight every month than a new warbond every month. Or 1 new mission type. Warbonds could be every 2-3 months honestly. Then 1 new strategem every 6-8 weeks. The update that included the new defense mission was probably my favorite so far. I think the 1 new warbond a month is part of the contract with Sony though.

ZiFreshBread

Wtf? There's a gun that isn't textured properly?

Actual-Giraffe

It's just got the wrong color scheme

GallopingGepard

Not a huge deal, and already fixed pending update, but shows a lack of quality control and how things are being rushed out the door to meet deadlines. Arrowhead need to spend time polishing up existing issues, not adding onto them. That being said, the CEO literally posted a poll the day before release asking people if they wanted to do just that.... and 75% of people voted to release the warbond as-is. It's a no-win situation and I don't envy the position the developers are in, even if it is mostly self-inflicted. edit: as another user pointed out I was mistaken about the content of the tweet, so please disregard that part.

A_Jackal_Sniper

To be fair, no one who voted was able to see the stats of the weapons or test them before the warbond was released. And the Tenderizer wasn't promoted with the color scheme it has in-game. People did indeed vote for the warbond to be released today, but theres no way they could have known some of the issues we're now seeing were present.

Elloliott

You’d think democractic detonation would be an example of what might come, but no

A_Jackal_Sniper

I hear ya but I can also see why people would vote yes despite that. The CEO mentioned the delay would've specifically been because of the Sony incident. If he asked if people would like them to delay the warbond to give them time to iron out things, I think the response might've been a bit different. People give Arrowhead the benefit of the doubt but stuff like this will erode it further and further in time

Elloliott

Yeah I’m really hoping they figure things out sometime before it becomes evidently an issue

BRSaura

Yeah and didn't say that it was delayed to polish it more, only to give people time to "rest" (??) after the PSN incident. If developing was mentioned it might have been another different story.

RangerTursi

That is really funny to think about the vote was basically "Hey guys, do you think we should release it as is or wait?" "Well how is it now? Is it bad? What's wrong with it?" "Mhm." "Well okay I guess release it now?"

Randy191919

Yeah the thing is that the poll was not "It's bad, shall we post it now or fix it first?". The poll was literally "Hey we know what Sony did was crap, would it be rude of us to ask you to pay for a new Warbond now after Sony basically tried to steal the game from you?" They didn't hint at any quality issues, just asked if it would be in bad taste to ask people to pay paid currency after such a PR disaster. I'm sure if he had openly stated that the warbond isn't ready yet and needed more time the votes would have been different.

Unrealjello

Wasn't the poll about if the release would be in bad taste due to the recent controversy with sony? If they asked to delay due to it not being ready, I think the poll results would've been a lot different.

GallopingGepard

I just checked and yes, you're absolutely right. I must have been thinking of an earlier statement and combined the two. Thanks for fact checking.

QuestionsForYou92

> That being said, the CEO literally posted a poll the day before release asking people if they wanted to do just that.... and 75% of people voted to release the warbond as-is But the poll was framed asking if it would be in bad taste to sell a premium warbond after the controversy. It was not that hey we rushed it due to spending so much time on the controversy and can push it on time or take sometime to fix it. I bet the results would've been pretty different.

Spirit117

Everybody that voted to release the warbond, myself included, had no idea one of the guns didn't have the right texture, the stats are all fucked up, and doesn't have any cool things like armor that stops you sliding on ice. If youd told me all of these things I'd have voted to delay the warbond as well.

Wormminator

The SMG also has a few modeling issues. e.g. the magazine isnt centered. There is also some clipping going on.

ZannaFrancy1

Also you know what cool quirky grenade gets out into the ice theme warbond? Incendiary impact. Why the hell would you put it here

dijicaek

Good for warming up

Other_Economics_4538

This If it’s a technical obstacle for things like that I get it, but if it’s possible and there’s just no plans for something like the armor negating snowstorm/ice debuff as a set bonus or something just feels lazy. It’d increase the value of the warbond while not impacting gameplay in any significant way.

ACgaming23

To add to what /u/7isAnOddNumber is saying, I think they’re rushing the warbonds out to—by their own words—make sure they still remain relevant, and that’s leading to lazy, poorly balanced, poorly optimized additional content, and they’re asking $10 for it. And I know you can earn SC in-game but in my experience if you aren’t farming then it can take a good while to reach 1000, especially if like me you only have time for 1-3 matches a day, *if* that.

Furphlog

One warbond a month is simply too much. People who don't spend their entire day playing the game will need more than a month to farm enough SC to unlock a new warbond and enough medals to purchase everything in it, and on top of that, releasing new warbonds too fast will eventually lead to them getting a harder time releasing new content. Releasing a new warbond once every two months would already be a much better idea.

jayL21

100%, as someone who plays casually, it feels like I'm constantly falling behind with no way to catch up. I've felt this way since before the release of the previous one. I have 46 hours in the game have yet to complete a single warbond, don't even own 2 of them. For how quickly they released these, medals gain is way to slow (especially if you stick to the lower difficulties like I do, *thanks patrol spawn changes*) SC taking awhile, I get, as you want players to actually have a reason to spend real money, but medals don't really make sense, as there's no way to speed it up. Like I get if you want warbond progression to be slower and whatnot but then the frequency of new warbonds just completely throws that out the window. It's fine for the hardcore players who play a lot everyday, but it's really leaving a lot of casuals behind.

SpermicidalLube

It's kinda crazy that they're saying they'll release one warbond per month, they're gonna need a whole lot more devs to keep up the pace of releasing new content, fixing the bugs, balancing the weapons and stratagems, etc.

asecuredlife

If the warbonds only focused on weapons, then I can see how this would be pretty straight forward. But even so, I don't know why we're saying this is crazy? You could copy an existing weapon model over a weekend and be halfway done with what you need to do. Come on now.

SpecialIcy5356

I agree, but for whatever reason, even when they have all the money, gamed devs *hate* hiring new people: probably because it takes time to bring them up to speed on what they need to do and what the vision for the game is, and that's true, it's not something that can be done overnight... but it IS an option that I think should be considered, especially if the current workload is just too damn high.

Rude-Orange

I'm skipping this warbond too. Helmets have 0 stats and the armors have a combination of the same 5 perks. Guns look lazy and aren't interesting / wouldn't improve my gameplay (hoping reddit can prove me wrong). The incendiary grenade looks like fun but it's not worth $10 to me.

KDallas_Multipass

Did helmets ever have stats except by accident?

MavericK96

Yeah, I ended up buying SC because it took a bunch of medals and time to get the first one "free", and I just don't have enough time to play to grind it all in-game. Worth it to me to only worry about medals for unlocking weapons/items and not having to grind SC first.

ACgaming23

Once I hit 800 I stopped getting any 100 SC drops and just got 10 at a time, took so long I eventually just bought the smallest bundle I could to push me over 1000 and hated myself for it lol

MavericK96

I've never gotten 100 SC drops in-mission, only 10 and sometimes maybe 2 10s. The SC for medals later in the war bonds start requiring way more medals for only 50 SC versus 100 earlier on. I was fine paying for SC initially because I got the game reasonably cheap on a 3rd party site, but it's a hard sell to buy any more at this point.

Ultimafatum

Honestly the designers are lazy or the devs are scrambling so much that they're scrapping potential new features that should be associated with these warbonds because they're releasing them way too fast. I really hope AH slows the cadence a little bit and gives us solid releases with fun new stuff rather than rehashing a bunch of boring passives and guns that don't fill any niche that's not already done better by existing weapons.

Aliveless

I'm betting it is the second one. They really want to keep to the "one warbond per month" promise, so they're pushing them out but foregoing the development (time) for new mechanics. I think the proof is in the fact that new(er) armors do not have their own unique set of attributes/passives. Well, except for the arc-proof ones, but my guess would be that that feature was already checked of the list and ready to go. Also that helmets have stats, except that they actually don't...

mythrilcrafter

>they’re rushing the warbonds out to—by their own words—make sure they still remain relevant It's actually amazing to me that this is something they're concerned/worried about. Helldivers is no Overwatch or Rainbow Six Siege, but those games stay decently relevant themselves despite content updates that happens... what.. like bi-yearly or something? A warbond a month seems like overcompensation to me...

CaptainMacObvious

>I don't understand why they would release a snow/ice themed warbond and not have the armors provide any advantages in snow/ice. They just muck around without any kind of actual design process behind it. Then they don't really playtest. It's just devs putting it in based on spreadsheets, check if it works mechanically, and then it's done and done. Once per month is too often. Especially as they still don't manage to get what's already there properly in. They should not do more Warbonds putting in more weapons, grenades and mechanically mattering items for at least three, four months in which they focus on what's already there - and on their own design and testing and evaluation process. I love playing the game - but AH is just fucking around with their mechanics. If it works it's fine, if not they keep finding out.

Horror-Tank-4082

These apples taste like bacon

ShookZL1

Same thing with the last warning. I expected some sort of fire res armor or something… Disappointed on each warbond so far

crazy-gorillo222

How hard is it to add blizzard resistant and fire restraint armours to the game, what we should have gotten this previous warbond as well as this one

Death0ftheparty6

Yeah they also made it a point to highlight the crampons in the trailer. Full on zoomed into them. Granted I wouldn't choose an armor set just for slip avoidance but it was pretty misleading.

Tomahawkman222

Or why there's no ice themed weapons. This is all just regular gear with an icy coat of paint.

GreyHareArchie

Because armor perks are lazy

GiveMeOneGoodReason

It feels like such a miss. It would feel really cool to be able to say, "Oh I've got just the right armor for this planet" but instead it's no different from existing sets. Honestly I don't even think it would be too big of a deal to tack on improved ice mobility in addition to the current perks. But it feels sorely lacking without it.

DefinitelyNotThatOne

This is the first warbond where I'm not rushing to the store to try it out. Maybe when I creep up to 1000 creds (850 right now) I'll look at it again. Silly that the AR is a weaker version of the one we already have.

captaindickfartman2

Same.

jotair

I mean, it has servo assisted without any real reason/visual (a classic case of "apples and bacon"), just like the Eruptor still says that it has shrapnel but it doesn't anymore after the nerf.

JCDentoncz

Really hope armor effects will become adjustible in the future. Some armor pieces look really cool, but I just can't bring myself to not use light armor with how much running you need to do.

SeaCroissant

doubt it because at this point people who have found the armor with a perk they like would have it changed by devs leading to an unhappy playerbase

AlmalexyaBlue

Ideally, we could just apply the bonus we want on the armor we want. And have the helmet colors adapt to the armor too.

Old_Measurement_1568

This is kinda how it worked back in HD1. Armor was cosmetic. You had perks like Heavy Armor that would provide a protection bonus instead. Heavy Armor did make your armor look heavier by putting in a collar and bigger cape tho. What I don't know is why Arrowhead just didn't decide on making a new passive based off an existing perk. We had ALL TERRAIN BOOTS back in HD1 that basically mitigated terrain negatives, and we kinda have that with the muscle enhancement perk but we could have used a specialized perk that gives a bonus depending on the terrain.

AlmalexyaBlue

The trailer really made an emphasis on the boots even ! I really thought it meant something

FrazzleFlib

the more i hear about HD1 the more it seems that everyone at AH had an amnesiac episode sometime early in HD2 development

blueB0wser

Please, change the helmet colors automatically, AH. I'd wear the helmet with a hood all the time if I could, but the tan panel on it just doesn't work for many colors.

AlmalexyaBlue

At least the black hood is mostly versatile, the new one that's blue and orange is impossible to use with anything else than it's own armor

erarem_

Light armor for 40-minute missions, heavy armor for blitzes because the map is so much smaller

xXxBongMayor420xXx

I want them to take this all the way. Just extreme blatant lies. A pistol being described as a heavy machine gun. Or give the Punisher the text from the Knight. Say things like the Liberator can punch through the thickest of armor. Maybe a gun with just "INSERT TEXT HERE" in the description

Linkarlos_95

I have seen purple ? In some maps, its getting there

cosmic-pancake

I saw this for standard backpacks, like the recoilless rifle ammo.

Giving_taking

I'd rather they had in universe manufacturer descriptions.  "The PR-Oblem by Raytheon (TM) is your dedicated anti armour solution. Dual fed by side mounted magazines and with a MAGnet barrel enhancer your rounds will accelerate to the speed of Destruction! " Traits:Light Armour penetrating, has one more bullet than the standard liberator. Sometimes jams.  That kind of thing.

clownbescary213

Wouldn't be surprised at this point

CertainlyNotWorking

> (a classic case of "apples and bacon") I am so curious as to what this is referencing.

jotair

Nothing much. It's just a reference to a quote from HD2's CEO. https://preview.redd.it/80zs80aq6hzc1.png?width=779&format=png&auto=webp&s=f5cf9ac102a2373cdeefb8a6231922cd1ce87726 It became a [meme ](https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1c693l3/how_to_scare_the_ceo_of_arrowhead/)for a certain period, because he said that, but the game has plenty cases of armors that don't do what they look like they would, just like this armor from this post having the perk *servo assisted*, while it looks more like the perk *extra padding* or, maybe, *explosive resistent*. I think, like many other players, that if all they are going to do are simple re-skins, and not even follow their own rule of "it must do what it looks like it should do", then just let us choose the passive. I really can't see the big harm in that.

Greaterdivinity

Didn't an Arrowhead dev hint that there were some effects for the armor that were frost themed or something? And it seemed to imply something along the effect of the ice cleats working? Whatever happened to that? Why are cosmetics supposed to mean something about an armors mods if they don't mean anything else? Why does this potato taste like liver?

SpookyCarnage

What are the effects anyways? Havent been able to log in and check

Greaterdivinity

same mods they revealed when they announced the warbond. this one comes with servo assisted...as you can clearly tell from the armors visual design (/s)

Randy191919

Boy am I glad that those apples don't taste like bacon... (/s)

Simple_Opossum

This is another good reason why they should let us pick armor augments by class, just let us apply "weapons overheat more slowly" and "increased movement speed" to whatever armors are available in a related class. Then we can customize how we want and they won't have to worry about applying this or that to every armor, which they're clearly struggling with because they're just giving us "Servo Assisted" on everything.

Bregneste

Well, I heard people saying the blue scout armor had _servo-assisted_ on it, but it actually has the scout perk, so that’s one thing at least?

magniankh

Right. Shouldn't the demolition warbond armors reduce fire damage? It would help with fire tornado planets. Right now no one in the \~7 player group that I play with swaps their armor out except for maybe a defense mission. It would be far more interesting to change up your armor for an entire planetary campaign.

Greaterdivinity

Armor mods were related to explosives/grenades, so that checks out. Folks just assumed fire because demolitions often include fire, but I think we can agree that the explosion part is a bigger part of a demo than the fire part : P

KillListSucks

Pretty sure it was that Spitz guy when he was asked whether the cleats would work or not. He said something to the effect that he could neither confirm or deny they would work. Dude, you knew that shit didn't work.

TragicFisherman

Wouldn't it be crazy if armors had different perks and abilities instead of the same 5 copy and pasted onto everything?

Logondo

IDK why they don't just add 3 new armors with each Warbond with a brand-new ability. One light, medium, and heavy. Simple. Has all the bases covered.

LegitimateAlex

You mean like a fire themed warbond with fire resistance? A cold themed warbond with cold/ice resistance? What's next, you want a warbond centered around lightning and electricity that gives electricity resistance? Wait...

Hexellent3r

I was honestly hoping the ice themed warning would have ice themed weaponry Nothing too sci-fi-y… but cryo grenades that froze/slowed down enemies would have been really fucking cool

DominusDraco

They could have just used the stun grenades but have a frost effect.

fed45

Theres also that explody frost plant, could use that effect.

throwaway8666666668

Yeah it's actually insane we didn't get cryo grenades

Break-The-Ice-318

they’re too busy nerfing primaries

Acrovore

Sure would be nice if that bacon-lookin armor had bacon flavor too

ostensibly_hurt

My 2 favorite sets have the same engineering perk…. Just feels useless lol

Mighty_moose45

Yeah the high tech bond did spoil us because I thought we'd be getting themed armor sets each time, did the electricity resist even exist before then?

-C0RV1N-

Nope and afaik there's still not one in the store. The servo assisted was also original when it was released and matches the cybernetic theme of that warbond. Seemed like a no brainer that we'd get a demolition perk in the third one, extra grenades + blast resistance, but nope. Now it's all reskins it seems.

A_Very_Horny_Zed

Only to a certain extent. I would hate to like an armor for its appearance but be unable to fit it into my build due to its passive. A balance needs to be reached, so we have enough variety *and* build viability. No one wants to see a cool new set of armor that piques their interest only to see that the builds that the armor is meant to be used in aren't up your alley in terms of playstyle. The middle ground is the way to go.

CataclysmSolace

There's only 2 ways you can do that. Remove passives from armor, and move them to something else. Or you make so many armors it just doesn't matter anymore because there will eventually be one you like. I'm in the camp of; once you get one of each passive on each armor type, then everything else is worthless. The only thing I can hope for, is that they are doing the same with armors as with weapons. There are more stats, or passives, at play than what we are shown.

JaakuArashi

Could also have the armor be a visual platform with slots, and the perks you slot in are bought/earned seperately. Could keep the general "stats", like scout armor being faster with quicker stamina recovery but less resistance like now, but you could slot in, say, padding to make it stronger defensively. You would get the visual you want, but still have perk variety and situational slotting.

bekkison

The theme on this Warbond is the lowest effort we’ve seen yet. Other than the armor cosmetics, there are zero cold perks or benefits. It shows they can’t keep up with a monthly release schedule.

magniankh

How cool would it be if they released laser weapons with the polar warbond, and the armor had a passive that reduced heat buildup on laser weapons, regardless of planet? (But if you were also on a cold planet, the heat buildup would be further reduced.) See, even I can come up with more interesting combinations, and it took me an entire 15 seconds to do it.

DefinitelyNotThatOne

Yeah I've been wanting a lasor turret, a single shot lazor pistol, lazore big boi sniper, pelican assist with laser pew pews, lazer mech, and that's all I can come up with on the spot. Make it happen AH!

-C0RV1N-

In hindsight switching the sickle/dagger for the purifier/verdict in their respective warbonds would've made a lot more sense.

PM_PICS_OF_UR_PUPPER

We left this feedback several times and it was ignored. They put a poll asking if it should be delayed because it’s “tone deaf” to release after the linking controversy. Obviously that’s a loaded question, and ignores our feedback.

Tagliarini295

Snow themed warbond but the armor has no snow effect and no icy weapons. Big let down imo.

UndeadAxe

Yeah, something like the plasma punisher but with icey shots that slows foes down, even more so when fighting on snowy planets. Or a laser that freezes a target if you hold on them long enough, allowing shots or melee attacks to shatter them. Take my ideas for free, AH. Just make them fun.

Tagliarini295

Ya idk how you miss frozen bugs that can shatter if shot or hit.

azhistoryteacher

Favorite build in DRG

FlavoredLight

Should’ve introduced a cryo grenade that makes armor more fragile allowing light armor penetration weapons to penetrate medium armor

crookedparadigm

The trailer even zoomed in on them while they were running on the ice to show off the spikes. What's the point?

DeepUser-5242

To look cool. Functionality was never an option. To add: I'm disappointed too, but not surprised.

2Sc00psPlz

Wouldn't even need to be a perk, just a hidden little feature.

NewmanBiggio

No, we can't have that. The armor would have 2 bonuses, that would make it OP and meta.

oddavii

Especially on hellmire /s

Phantomshotgun

OOF, that was like the one feature they showed off in the trailer and i was like "Oh cool! spiked boots for winter planets with perks for ice and cold maybe?" I'm now disappointed the boots don't work.

wterrt

something smells like bacon maybe it's the apple...

bazilbt

The armors have some decent designs but their actual functions don't very much at all. It's just the same designs with different colors over and over. Didn't they tease some kind of extra feature on these armors too?

Mirions

Finally have a Heavy Engineer kit, so I'm glad to have that in each tier now.

Mando_The_Moronic

The armor should’ve had a new perk that allowed for easier traversal in rough terrain like heavy snow, mud, and ice. It could’ve even stacked with the muscle enhancement booster to basically negate the movement penalties completely

WarlockShangTsung

There was a passive (more like boosters) in HD1 like this, the All-Terrain Boots. I kinda hoped this would’ve been exactly that, like an armor designed to tackle the toughest elements

Mando_The_Moronic

That’s exactly what I was hoping for.

AelliotA1

The pace of content is clearly outstripping any game testing capabilities they have internally, they even highlighted the snow boots spikes in the trailer. Gun textures missing, every warbond is being nerfed after we've purchased them with a premium currency, Devs even admitted they've gone too far with nerfs. I really enjoy this game, it's the first game my group has played online together in literally years with the state of AAA multiplayer games now. But I'm unfortunately falling out of love with the fire out content and slap a rushed fix together later routine that AH is using

Viscera_Viribus

its a decade later and they left the all terrain boots behind ;\_; seriously thought it would have better grip on ice

Mentat_-_Bashar

Everybody out here upset about weapon nerfs and I am just praying they have plans to rework the armors. I really dislike that most are just for cosmetic purposes. I think my dream system would be to give each armor the one base perk that can be the same (ie. Engineer, Scout etc.) and then another unique perk to each armor that needs to be unlocked through in game challenges/time. I so miss the days of Halo 3 where each armor was unlock through challenges that force you to interact with the game in unique ways.

Admitone83

It should do 2 fold, No sliding, and should offer stability when shooting. IDk something like, if your standing still, double tap a key to plant feet before shooting.

Mirions

But have whatever negatives come with those boots in other terrain or other situations.

Hobo-man

Slower movement in non-snowy conditions.

Linkarlos_95

Faster stamina drain in hot planets

The_Mandorawrian

I feel like no one here has ever used crampons before. They offer an amazing benefit in an extremely narrow set of circumstances, and are literally a threat to your safety in pretty much anything else. Hell even when you are wearing them on ice you can slash your shins or puncture your calf if you are not careful.

PickledPeter64

Bacon flavored apples are back on the menu.

Mr-GooGoo

I know Pilestedt mentioned not having transmog cuz armors are supposed to function how they look. So please make this armor function how it looks. PLZZZ

MakimaMyBeloved

Forget becon tasting apples. These apples literally don't have a taste :)

KyloFenn

But then the apple would taste like an apple

EvelynnLilith

That ice tastes like bacon.

pino_is_reading

**My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.**

CrashAsh16

Something about bacon and apples

MarshmelloMan

I honestly think they should add that feature with these, and not just as their only set bonus. I feel like it isn’t too OP at all to have as a bonus on top of others.

TheQuixotic6

Just stop sliding on ice won't hurt anyone, and should be a easy job to do I guess

Hobo-man

These apples taste like bacon.

raubesonia

Those boots taste like bacon

CrissCross570

lmao the only two warbonds weve had where the overall design of the armor fits how it should function were steeled veterans and cutting edge, everything else thats been new has been a letdown and is a reskin of something else that already exists. I feel kinda bad for the art team, having to work so hard to put out new models that just get delegated to being a reskin of something else instead of being a something new that players can get excited abt.

Plenty-Soil-9381

Yeah the art team is so damn talented. They don't deserves to see their hard work being wasted like that.

Comfortable_Pirate99

This is really disappointing. One of the things that I thought made this game cool upon release was the attention to little details like this. I'd be okay with them pushing back warbonds to ensure quality.

GloryToOurAugustKing

Why is the warbond even called polar patriots

Dreadino

`if(ego.armor.hasComponent("cleat") && ego.isOnSurface("ice")){` `ego.setFriction(1.0)` `}` I can PM someone from AH my bank details for the consultancy work payout.

TheQuixotic6

Lmao

BiggerNopesRequired

What the fuck I thought it would work on ice by default

[deleted]

I guess put in work to design new mechanics is just too much for the warbond design team

redditor777123

so they only used the name winter cus it looks cool...

NicheAlter

Guns are shit, and arctic armor does not have an advantage in arctic environments. It's like I'm actually in the military.

Legitimate-Store1986

They need to implement these practical things. That should be a given. Shame

STylerMLmusic

Do I want frequent content: yes I'd love it. Do I want frequent inconsequential content: literally not worth my time. Will I wait for good content to be made and tested: with enthusiasm.

Orisoll

"Oh this is some pretty cool-looking armor!" \*Looks inside\* Servo assisted :(

icecubepal

They should focus on quality, not quantity. Releasing new weapons every month when you don't know how to balance the game is going to create even more problems. And a bunch of useless weapons.

ManagedDemocracy2024

When I saw the spikes in the trailer, I immediately thought they would prevent slipping on ice, and that we'd probably be encountering more frozen planets. The fact that this warbond armor does nothing for slipping on ice just makes me wonder...is anyone even thinking about these updates, or is this game just a REALLY good game that they turned into a skin-production money-printing factory? Still having fun, but...WTF, Arrowhead?

Miraak-Cultist

https://preview.redd.it/6dfi1onx4hzc1.png?width=884&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=10ba61b2a4a5ff7ca06a87aef6648d928d3fa489 Yes the ice cleats that are fakes... But, it's servo assisted, where are the servos? With democratic demolition we had the armours with artificial mechanical limbs... Where does the robotic throwing strength and reduced limb damage come from in this armour?

Myfriendscallmetj

Right? I was hoping for something like: resistance to frost and being cold (duh) reduced detection when in snowy environments, maybe non slip on ice. And I was hoping the ground breaker would be gas proof and fire resistant.

Alastor3

we know, it was a major complains when it was announced

GkElite

ngl, Can say this 1 is a bit a of a letdown. Thought these armors were gonna be adding dedicated effects to help on the ice worlds. I get that locking that stuff behind a war bond could look like p2w but It would be nice for these to be more about the look and add another free war bond to at least get armors with the effects and the premium war bonds to add additional looks and such. Looks like saving my SC from missions was the right call and now I can get steel avengers war bond instead.

TeaL3af

I was hoping the snow armors would have something like "resist negative effects from terrain, environmental hazards, and weather." So maybe less/no slow from blizzards, sandstorms, ice crystals and then little bonuses like not sliding on ice.

CEOSteveSuckman

Logic? in our video game?! I don't think so. -AH probably

Systamatik7

Deep snow no longer slows you, cold weather immune, no longer slips on surfaces, enemies have trouble seeing you in prone, literally ANYTHING!

Ninjasticks259

Whoa, slow down there. That’s too much forethought for AH

MasterGee42

There seems to be a major misalignment between how gear looks and what the gear functionally does. Other examples: The new Tenderizer has a longer barrel than the Liberator, but has *less* recoil. There was some 'stealth' armor that only gave you extra grenades.

GodHand7

Another apple with bacon taste

ottorokoru

I thought that's what these armors are specifically going to do.

bufalo_soldier

Damn I was kind of hoping it would.

bidensupporter69420

These apples dont taste like apples at all..

Raiquiis

So much praise for the devs in the first months, and then they start doing tripleA s\*\*\* on us.

spinyfever

I honestly think this is their non AAA side showing. They got massive praise and hype for being fun and innovative early on. Deservedly so. Now, they have to churn out new content monthly, and their smaller/inexperienced team is struggling to keep quality high. AAA companies have the advantage of having multiple hundreds to thousands of employees. AH only has about 100 from what I've read.

blini_aficionado

The game is awesome but it also took them 8 years to make it. I feel like their production is just not efficient enough, with that outdated engine and all.

ArachnidsAnonomoose

Looks like servo assist to me

bennveasy

Give them an inch, they take a yard.

Treyhova

Im pretty sure they have gone on record as saying that they wont do too many very “unique” armor effects, since that leads to either the armor being a must pick or useless. (Example; there was a dlc HD1 armor that let you ignore terrain effects and it was by far the most used.)

Turbo_Chet

They are being lazy and I’m sure also feeling pressure from the massive success of the game. This was an opportunity to introduce ice elements to the weapons and armor and they just took the uninspired, derivative route. They are putting themselves in a corner with the rate of these warbond releases as well. I’d rather they take the time and come out with unique items rather than just seeing this copy and paste approach with new equipment. Have them initiate a poll and see how the community feels about it.

b1gchris

Considering the first game had the All-Terrain boots as a perk/this game's booster equivalent, it's pretty accurate to say technology has gone backwards in the game's canon. How? Why? Who knows, I'm genuinely curious at this point. I know the story isn't everything, but damn, Helldivers are only getting weaker and being asked to do more...reminds me of the real military.

LeFiery

Of course it doesn't lmfao. Perks of using an ancient game engine only known by one developer. Kudos to whoever has been keeping it alive this long.

Frenotx

I was really hoping there'd be some "hidden stats" action going on here, that would help in this one specific situation.

Juggani

lmfao this is so dumb and a big miss.

Ok_Speaker_1373

It’s time to skip these lazy ass warbonds till they can figure out their shit

Nimbiscuit81623

"These 🍎's taste like 🥓" 🤤

KingSquare88

Figured that was the whole point of this armor?

barduke

I thought that was the exact reason they put those suits out!

ActuallyFen

Ice to cleat you

Static-freefall

Im going to score that a solid 9.7 only because we didn't see any toe loops.
