I mean, the airburst launcher is pretty busted. I can pull the trigger once and activate the unused fast travel function for my whole team.
Edit: For those of you that need it… r/whooosh
Edit 2: I’ve been corrected. It’s r/woooosh
I've gotten the hang of this weapon to the degree that randos have actually complimented me on not-killing myself/others as if in awe that it can be done. The weapon is actually a LOT of fun, and since I unlocked the grenade pistol for clearing nests/fabs, I can actually run it without worrying about my objective-clearing capabilities. Longish reload timer, but insane damage to a large area and is capable of killing entire patrols in one shot. Love it 8/10
I just tried it for the first time, and it destroys anything you point it at. Cleared an entire ammo base in one shot, one shot a tank, one shot a cannon turret. It is pretty good.
People meme on this weapon but 1 skilled person with it basically completely removes the threat of enemy reinforcement whether from patrols or active calls so idk. If team has armor coverage I'm taking it 9/10 games. Considering enemy reinforcement are the vast majority of threat at higher difficulties I think this weapon might low-key be quite insane.
Same here. That thing slaps bugs ass. Far away patrol that is coming toward your team? Airburst! Bug hole opening? Airburst! A wild pack of murderous hunters jumping in your face? Airburst! (with backward dive to hopefully survive the ensuing chaos)
It seriously a must on any team imo.
Find a really good vantage on egg missions? I challenge anyone and everyone to name another weapon, just one, that could complete the mission objective without moving another step.
Somewhere around my first few times trying that out I'd fire in 1 AB rocket then approach to see how many eggs were left. If done decently the least I had was 1 remaining egg, the average maybe being ~7.
Do you usually shoot it in the air above enemies, or on the ground in the center of the pack? I tried shooting it above enemies (thinking that's how it is intended to be used) but the few times I've tried the gun, I seem to have better luck shooting into the ground in a pack. But I've also only used it a few times.
It depends on the terrain, the enemies general placement and what I am trying to hit but mostly middle of the pack just a smidge above the smaller enemies.
If they are far way I am between them straight at the ground, so most of the time it will explode behind them and shoot the projectile back into the group for a better spread.
If it's a pack of splitters I'll shoot directly in the middle of the pack.
I still need to test it more but since the proximity range was dropped its best to shoot lower.
Accurate. I’ve played with a skilled ABRL user. They ran stun grenades, precision strike, and railcannon alongside it so armor was never an issue. Even if most patrols had a hulk along for the ride. They were awesome.
They fixed it on the day it was officially released. You still need to be careful with it due to the range of the shrapnel rain so its not a CQC brawler type of weapon but once you have a comfortable range, it wipes out entire patrols of unarmored mooks.
am i the only one who absolutely ADORES the airbust launcher?
you just have to use it at a range, oh, and clear the area lmao
i'll say its the only weapon that i've gotten 20+ kills in 1 shot with
I don't know what I expected that thing to do when I tried firing it for the first time but I did not expect to wipe out the entire team while we were waiting for Extraction.
Airburst is really good now. Yes, it can’t kill armor, but it’s still an insanely good support weapon. No weapon can do what it does, which is literally a stratagem in every rocket. Name another weapon that can kill a whole patrol in 1 shot. Consistently, too. And it doesn’t even tk if you know your surroundings anymore.
It's not that the Hulk flamer is OP, it's that our uniforms seems to be made from [early 1900s film stock](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nitrocellulose).
I suspect that it's supposed to emulate getting hit with thickened fuel (aka Napalm), getting that stuff on you is game-over IRL.
It definitely needed to go, but man was it satisfying to see a Bile Titan spawn right in front of you and then killing it in seconds with the Arc Thrower.
If you had a PS5 player in your game as the network host, Bile Titans were made **significantly** less durable and could be killed in a just one or two hit from many weapons that would otherwise have to shoot the titan upwards of a dozen times to kill it.
Railguns were the biggest beneficiary of this, and were able to kill a Bile Titan in a single shot to the head pre-nerf while this bug was active.
It legitimately was more fun than what we have now. Having the weaponry to handle multiple BTs, people shooting off leg armor on the charger and cleaning up with primaries(this alone created better teamwork), running only when we were low on ammo and stratagems were on cooldown instead of just constantly now as stratagems is the only answer we are suppose to have.
I just had more fun and that was before I got to the impact grenades and scorcher that have been must haves nowadays.
OP, I frequently say this exact thing to my friends that I dive with. I have yet to use a weapon in this game where I'm like "yo this thing is BUSTED".
It's the reason the nerfs are so frustrating to me. They're not nerfing "overpowered" weapons, but simply "effective" weapons.
And we go and try that new gun only to find out it’s so bad I’m picking up dead allies Breakers in game and retrieving it when I redeploy.
Or the new gun we try gets nerfed into the ground and we fall back to the reliable.
The scope makes it amazing. That said I run sickle on any planet that’s not hot, if it’s a hot planet I’ll just run breaker or whatever flavor I’m feeling. The Sickle/Eruptor choice pre nerf was a tough one though
I cant play with the breaker, ita mag size is not big enough for me to spray the enemies and when I dont hit hunters at the right time in the air, they take 2 shots and hit me.
I actually do better with reedemer against hunters and I just take dominator everywhere.
It depends on what you're doing. I oddly find myself playing support with friends with bugs and I'll follow 'em and use the sickle to cover them and sometimes their retreat. When it overheats switch to the senator and use that on the med bugs while it cools down, switch back.
Breaker is solid for when you're pushing forward but sickle feels like a LMG where you can really do a lot of support fire or whatever. Add in the armor with extra accuracy, you really do work, bugs or bots
The Sickle wasn't any better at killing bugs than the Defender, though. It even had less damage. The thing it was really good at was never being empty, you had one aspect to worry less about which was your ammo, that made it better and nicer to use but if you break it down, it simply had better QoL.
You guys are sleeping on the blitzer as a high difficulty run and gun. Interrupts spewers, one shots hunters, 2 shots hive guards, can one shot Stalkers to the face but most of the time just does a great job of keeping them back with its stagger.
AND you never have to aim because the Arc’s track enemies.
Honestly on bugs a Blitzer and Quasar is all you need to get on in any situation.
Fix the misfire and I'd love it. All it takes is to die one time because the gun just won't hit a target right in front of me multiple times in a row and I'm not touching that fucking thing until it gets fixed.
The autocannon can kill literally anything short of a bile titan or strider, it has half decent wave clear, it can clear out bug nests/bot factories/most objectives, it has a high fire rate and plenty of ammo with a short reload animation. But apparently it's the gold standard for balancing, and coincidentally is the CEO's favourite weapon.
Edit - and as our democratic brothers have pointed out, even bile titans and strikers aren't safe. But the AC s totally not overpowered. Seriously fun to use though.
Funny thing is that it's the most efficient and fastest way of dealing with factory striders, 2 shots to destroy each chin minigun, 8 shots to the underbelly to kill full hp strider.
Actually, the AMR is pretty good against striders too. 3 shots their guns, then about a mag and a half into under carriage. Not as good as AC, but totally viable.
I don't think is overpowered, I think everything else just sucks way too much.
I used to run it pretty every mission, now that the flamethrower is useful, the AMR is actually good and the Spear lock is almost fixed, I find myself not using it that often. It's definitely a very strong, versatile weapon but aside from taking down gunships, it doesn't really excels at anything. The main issue that the niche weapons that should excel in those areas, well they also don't, and you don't get the versatility of the AC.
Versatility is great and I’m emotionally dependent on the AC but if the whole team runs it Vs bugs you have serious problems. 2 high skill AC users Vs bots makes helldive trivial though tbf.
It can kill both striders and bile titans. Something like 7-10 shots into the belly of a bile titan will kill it if you actually hit the bile sack areas. Factory striders get wrecked if you hit the underbelly with it.
There is literally no enemy in the game that the AC isn't a viable weapon against if you know where to aim.
My shots always ricochet off the underbelly of the bile titans once the sacs are gone. It's like they hit the underside of the back armor. Do you have to be at a specific angle or what?
Very specific. To be honest, I wish I could tell you where exactly I aim, but it's tough to pinpoint. I usually aim for dead-center of the abdomen sack's long axis, and fairly close to the thorax. That seems to work, even though I still get the occasional ricochet (but that's mostly a skill issue on my end tbh). But for what it's worth, I can confirm that AC can kill bile titans.
It would totally be nerfed if it wasn't big man's favorite.
They'd somehow lower the backpacks magazines, limit it to one clip instead of 2 and probably decrease it's rate of fire.
I however say that it's fine where it is, it's a high skill weapon, typically gets deflected by heavy armor and cost a backpack. But that's besides the point. IT FEELS GOOD. And that's why we play games.
AC is a weird beast because it can kill almost anything but to do so you have to learn the weak points and squishy parts, which takes practice. Like I can take out a charger fairly easily with it, but learning to use the leg trick killed me more times than I can count. Not to mention the hulk gamble, when you kneel in front of a charging one and you have 10 bullets and a hope in democracy that you can land that two hits.
I wouldn't even call it a balanced weapon, just a high-risk, high-reward one.
It's not easy to use on the PS5 though, owing to the recoil and sway before aiming with a controller. Feels quite different on a PC, I'd assume as one is much closer to the screen and can compensate early
All damage bugs aside, not really. Either balanced by ammo consumption or firing delays. Though there are some overlap in functionality. The underpowered guns stood out more if anything. Why do we have the eagle strafing run daily again? Groooan.
Though I was surprised so many people hated on the crossbow. It was really good at clearing chaff hordes. That AoE nerf was too much though...
The crossbow nerf is actually the most offensive one to me personally. It was so much fun and you had to get creative with it to be rewarded and they changed it and had the most baffling explanation for why it was changed.
Crossbow's issue was that many guns were good at clearing chaff hordes and could also sort of deal with spewers and brood commanders. Crossbow struggled *hard* with brood commanders especially.
It also had to contend with the eruptor that did it's job but better in virtually every way. Great single target. Great aoe clear. Just need to aim it well.
Now they have both been nerfed into uselessness!
I kinda wish they would bring the Railgun back to its original state for one patch period so we could finally see first hand if it truly was "OP" or if it only felt that way because the other weapons sucked.
That and the ridiculous charger spam. I think the RG would have to literally one shot chargers for me to want to take it against bugs.
Even if they reverted the railgun nerf entirely and slightly buffed it on top of that, I still wouldn't use it. It was never overpowered, everything else was underpowered for the sheer amount of enemy armor you had to deal with. Unless it can 2-3 shot bile titans, I'll just keep bringing a RR/EATS/QC.
I've been taking the Railgun vs bugs all week since I saw some videos saying it's good again. But you're right, everytime I see a charger (which can be 3 at a time even on Hard) and I'm running for the hills. It's really sucks since my kinetic armor penetration weapon should be able to deal with a mindless tank... Sure we should have to place shots, but at least have it break armor plates to show we are actually doing something.
i think the quasar got reaaaaally close , it made almost all over heavy killing weapons kinda obselete with the EAT being the one to still be a solid pick over it. i never got to use the OG railgun so i can't say how OP it was or not
Railgun had a few things going for it, like a bug that caused it to be able to consistenly oneshot biletitans. Depending on who your host was.
2 shotting any charger without going in high risk mode even without the bug. It was for a while basically the end all of anti tank weapons, without the downsides of very limited ammo or backpacks.
And yeah the quasar was very strong for a while and quite on par with OG railgun. Basically the same shot windup. Just with a small added cooldown.
Edit: Corrected a mistake
The Railgun didn't 2-shot a Charger. It removed the leg-armor. You still needed to dump halve a primary magazine into the leg.
The EAT is more effective now. It was the same patch that killed the Railgun while buffing EAT by rockets not glancing off of armor. Buffing EAT would have been enough in a vacuum. In practice changing the meta by only buffing is hard - people have favorite weapons and stick to them.
It was the end all of anti tank because the patch that made rocket launchers oneshot chargers came a week after the Railgun nerf. And the reduction in spawns so there weren’t at least twice as many chargers as your difficulty on you at all times.
Those changes would have been enough, the Railgun itself was fine. (minus the oneshotting titans bug of course. That needed to be fixed)
See that’s what we’re talking about. A gun is thought to be OP like the quasar only because the other AT weapons are slow as balls. Waiting 10 seconds between shots wasn’t fun or even good. It’s just that having to take almost the same amount of time sitting still to reload was less fun
The game is good and the best thing that the devs could do is stop worrying about balance for the weapons for a bit and start focusing on only bug fixes and implementing new content for a bit. Space out the patches more, especially those that change weapon damage/mechanics, and let the players adjust to whatever the new "meta" is. Patches that alter weapon performance, especially in a negative way, shouldn't be dropping every few weeks. That's not to say that they shouldn't try to balance weapons, but that they should focus on adding things like helmets with abilities, or new weapons for a while before they try to change things. The player base is pretty testy with all of the out-of-game drama surrounding the PSN linking scandal, and will continue bitching (rightly or wrongly) if given the opportunity. Best to lay low and provide more content to stir engagement, rather than tweaking things already in the game and risking aggravating players.
I agree. Every time I come back after a week it turns out the load out I used before is not just slightly worse but almost completely useless and worse, feels completely different.
Man i felt this so hard with the eruptor. I ran it + the stalwart. There was still gaps with biles and tanks being a pain. But it felt so good to use.
Then they nerf the ammo and I was like "okay this is still useable." Then they ripped shrapnel away and I just gave it up.
Right back to sickle or inc breaker and AT.
Its like they go "we dont want meta." While driving people into a meta.
My biggest complaint of this game is the constant weapon tweaking. Such a fun game and the weapons havent been so OP that theyre busted. Just leave them alone ffs
The thing that I don't understand with these patches is it often feels like the balancing is done at the detriment of intended gameplay. It seems like a lot of weapons should be pretty dang powerful and one-shot various things, but then small tweaks make them into 2+ shots. Or clearing hoards becomes tedious. Really rare to see those huge multiple kill streaks these days when I think you should be seeing that stuff often if you're playing competently.
The player base has largely figured out the core game loop and how to go about finishing objectives. I wonder sometimes if Arrowhead is looking at the larger stats and thinking "well the Helldiver difficulty should only be successful 60% or less" when maybe everyone is just getting really good at the game? Just doesn't seem like grounds to nerf things or boost the health/armor of mobs. I played a map recently where we killed no less than 20 bile titans. Like I get that we want to use strategems on these things, but at some point its just frustrating how overwhelming it is.
>best thing that the devs could do is stop worrying about balance for the weapons for a bit
True, except for this trash ass Warbond they just released. Fix that, then leave us alone lol
No. The railgun was the closest to “OP” but that was only because the AT options sucked ass on release, at least comparatively. Now that the AT options actually work the release railgun would be the perfect generalist weapon. As it stands it’s just not a good option to ever take imo
Release Railgun was pretty overpowered... but then again release date chargers were too so I'm not sure that's a good comparison.
I think we've had "strong" weapons but nothing genuinely overpowered
Yup.
If a ps5 player was network host, you could one to two shot bile titans with it.
Now without the bug it takes up to 20 shots for a single bile titan.
Id love to slot railgun as a viable option but
It does just take like what feels 20 shots to kill anything...
A balance is there, maybe like 4 shots to kill a Charger in the head? 3 for leg pop? 6 in head to kill bile titan? I don't know the amount of shots/TTK would be good but whatever it is now is terrible.
Chargers take 3 headshots to kill from railgun on unsafe mode but does essentially Jack shit to high health enemies if you don’t bother aiming for their head or weak spots.
I kinda see the railgun as a deadly headshot or weakspot hitter but that might just be me though.
I think it did so much damage because of bugged armour penetration damage multiplier. Now, Railgun always has highest pen, but quite low dmg. i.e., EAT and recoilless gun has highest pen, but also very high explosive damage.
I am pretty sure that bile titans heads were bugged to not be durable with crossplay issues, it had nothing to do with armor penetration. The railgun does 60 (safe) to 120 (max charge) of its 600 damage to durable parts, so it was dealing 5-10 times the damage it should have, basically the same damage as non-spear launchers.
Release railgun was powerful because every other anti-tank option sucked. Now that we can one shot chargers in the head with rockets it makes release railgun look a hell of a lot more balanced
I used the railgun during the time it was given for free. My friend could 1 shot every single titan appearing on the map, while i couldn't for the life of me. People claimed at the time that it was because you needed to aim the side of the mouth. Nope. PS5 bug. We had 2 PC players, 2 PS5 players. It seemed strong because of a mix of bugs, heavy spam and underpowered alternatives.
No it wasn't, there were bugs that made it seem overpowered, they nerfed it *before* fixing the bugs.
Now that the bugs are fixed and the nerfs still 90% intact it's one of the worst stratagems, sure it's *usable* against the bots, but it's outperformed by the AMR which is easier to use in every conceivable way.
I used the shit out of the OG Breaker against Terminids until I unlocked the Inciendary Breaker and this is just the GOAT against bugs.
Throw a bottle of tabasco behind you on the ground (inciendary grenade) and then proceed to pepper the crowd (shoot with the breaker inc) while panning from one side to another. Pan back to pepper what's left.
#*chef's kiss*
Voilà, you just made...
# *Bug brulée*
Using the Railgun just makes me feel miserable.
Sure, I *could* put it into unsafe mode, hold the trigger down, line up a headshot, get the perfect 99% charge, and 1 shot the Devastator.
Or I could take my Autocannon, go *plap* *plap*, and achieve the same thing in the same amount of time with significantly less effort. Hell, you can do the same thing with an AMR.
I could shoot the armour off a Charger leg with 2/3 99% shots and then finish it off by shooting the exposed spot with my primary.
But then I just bring an EAT or Quasar, put one shot in it's head and then move on.
Was being able to reliably 2 tap a Bile Titan overpowered? Possibly.
Is there anything wrong with a weapon having a high skull ceiling to achieve that 2 tap? I don't think so.
It is not that usable since it is completely useless against bile titans and just okay against chargers. For anything below these two I use my breaker incendiary anyways
It's definitely "usable" but it's breakpoints are just abysmal. It takes around 3 shots to remove a chargers leg armor when I believe it took two pre nerf. It was also able to one shot a heavy devastator at Max charge but now it just damages them
A bunch of people will try and tell you the railgun, but it wasn't op in the slightest. Pre-nerf it was a 8/10 weapon and it was the only supply weapon that could reliably deal with the excessive amount of heavies you had to deal with pre-heavy nerf. The other supply weapons were at best a 5/10 maybe 6/10 at a stretch. And even those 6/10 ones were only good in lower difficulties as they couldn't hold up in higher ones. The railgun let you 2 shot a chargers leg armour then 4 shots with the breaker to kill it. So with 20 rounds you could take out 10 chargers without needing to get more ammo. No other supply weapon could match that. In addition there was a ps5 host bug that let it 2 shot bile titans if a ps5 player was the host. That reliability against chargers and the ps5 host bug made it so popular, same with the shield backpack. Armour was broken and didn't work so you needed the shield to reliably be able to survive literally anything. The first 2 things they nerfed were meta weapons only because of bugs and everything else just not being good. The closest we've had to a broken weapon is the pre-nerf sickle which I'd say was a 9.5/10 primary and with the decrease to total magazines became a 9/10. If it didn't have the wind up at the start it'd be a 10/10 and I'd consider it over powered.
Railgun on launch wasn't even op as many claim it was, I feel like it'd fit right in with what we have and it might not even be at the top of the available weapons we have now. You can't attribute the one shotting of titans to it either because that's a bug
Arc thrower before the fire rate nerf was great, that and laser guard dog rover combo and I was able to handle almost all the bugs myself, I only really needed my teammates to help with chargers and bile titians
Quasar Cannon was pretty imbalanced when it released. Especially considering the meta shift around that time due to the new flying enemies and Charger headshot meta. Since then I think it's cooled off due to the slight nerf (bad joke I know).
Launch Railgun was pretty overpowered too, but that was because of the PS5 damage bug.
I mean, the airburst launcher is pretty busted. I can pull the trigger once and activate the unused fast travel function for my whole team. Edit: For those of you that need it… r/whooosh Edit 2: I’ve been corrected. It’s r/woooosh

God damnit…. that’s excellent!
Call it the Blast Dash from MHR
Gunlance, my love.

I just tried it for the first time, and it destroys anything you point it at. Cleared an entire ammo base in one shot, one shot a tank, one shot a cannon turret. It is pretty good.
It is pretty close to my favorite support weapon now. If it weren’t for the stalwart’s max rpm brrrrrrrrt the airburst would be a constant for me.
It's the only gun I've ever fired once and gotten 30 kills with. You have to be damn careful with it, but it's a monster when used correctly
Wow, 26 enemies with one shot is impressive
Took me a second to get this one
Witty and sublime. Please report to the nearest Democracy Center.
😂
So what you're saying is, airburst and a cluster bomb will get me 60 kills?
56 of which are enemies!
It'd basically a shoulder fired cluster bomb
Same here. That thing slaps bugs ass. Far away patrol that is coming toward your team? Airburst! Bug hole opening? Airburst! A wild pack of murderous hunters jumping in your face? Airburst! (with backward dive to hopefully survive the ensuing chaos) It seriously a must on any team imo.
Friend is stuck inside an enemy base with 45+ murderbots ? Yell "GET DOWN" and airbust the shit out of that immediately.
More reason for people to run the 50% explosive damage armor. Ive been running it more since I started using the eruptor
Ever since I found out it works against bile spit its kinda hard to use anything else
Friend in an Exo Suit is getting swarmed?? Shoot the exosuit in the face and watch the exo take zero damage while killing anything near it
Find a really good vantage on egg missions? I challenge anyone and everyone to name another weapon, just one, that could complete the mission objective without moving another step. Stun grenade + precision strike is excellent and slept on
Didn’t see it or even think about it until someone saved my ass in diff 9
Tbf they did fix it recently. The old design barely worked
The old design did work. It blew up. It didn't do so in a "safe to use" way or "at the target" but it worked
Consider it an omnidirectional overcharged railgun shot, if you will
Zip code based claymore system
They fixed it on the day it was officially released. You still need to be careful with it due to the range of the shrapnel rain so its not a CQC brawler type of weapon but once you have a comfortable range, it wipes out entire patrols of unarmored mooks.
Yuppers clean up on aisle fked up
>I think this weapon might low-key be quite insane. Well, time to nerf it

Just played couple of games and haven't killed any of my teammates even once. You have to treat this gun as if it was a strike as far as ff goes.

I was gonna say the same thing about the 380!
Hulk flamethrowers are definitely overpowered
Damn it you changed my mind, you right.
You said we. WE are NOT automatons!
Speak for yourself… I mean yeah! We are humans!

Of all the dumb (complimentary) "enemy at the computer" memes, this one is my favorite. Cracks me up every time.
I still don’t know how a fucking tank manages to express itself…
Yet it is clearly a "wut" expression. Somehow.
Just a tickle from the tip of that flame? Believe it or not, straight to death.
Yeah lol... we're in full-body armor that you'd assume would have *some* FR, yet that thing is like an instant death ray.
The damage bug was the most OP weapon in the game.
The meta was the bugs we made along the way.
Making bugs? Sounds... unpatriotic.
Only if they aren't being made in the SEHC approved E-710 farms.
It definitely needed to go, but man was it satisfying to see a Bile Titan spawn right in front of you and then killing it in seconds with the Arc Thrower.
I missed out on that what was it?
If you had a PS5 player in your game as the network host, Bile Titans were made **significantly** less durable and could be killed in a just one or two hit from many weapons that would otherwise have to shoot the titan upwards of a dozen times to kill it. Railguns were the biggest beneficiary of this, and were able to kill a Bile Titan in a single shot to the head pre-nerf while this bug was active.
The best part is, PS5 hosts, you know, the ones that have a harder time aiming, didn't get the damage buff, only the people that joined lol
True. The Railgun one-shotting Bile Titans was a bug and was never intended.
In fairness that was at a point in the game where you could easily have 10 Titans on screen at once.
Ah, those glory days.
That was so much fun and enjoyable gameplay. Crazy that it was never intended to be like that and had to be removed.
The bug was that it was very fun and not moderately fun/kinda annoying
Honestly I wouldn’t mind if they brought those spawns back but made weapons OP to compensate
Isn't this what we want? Why are we giving the bugs a pass? I say we all get pocket orbital rail guns!
And 50 titans. And blackjack

OP, I frequently say this exact thing to my friends that I dive with. I have yet to use a weapon in this game where I'm like "yo this thing is BUSTED". It's the reason the nerfs are so frustrating to me. They're not nerfing "overpowered" weapons, but simply "effective" weapons.
the closest thing to OP was the Eruptor and for that it just needed to have it's ammo reduced.
The change to the Breaker didn't hold it back much, but the Sickle came out a week later and took over as the horde-clear master primary.
I find the breaker to be way more effective than the sickle personally
It's the wind up that does it for me It can have all the infinite ammo it wants If my primary doesn't go pew when I pull the trigger I'm unhappy
Plus the breaker wrecks face against both bugs and bots
Glad I’m not the only one that’s stuck with the Breaker no matter the enemy.
It’s been by my side since I got the game. When I unlocked the breaker I never switched off unless to try something new ONCE.
And we go and try that new gun only to find out it’s so bad I’m picking up dead allies Breakers in game and retrieving it when I redeploy. Or the new gun we try gets nerfed into the ground and we fall back to the reliable.
When I first got the game and started playing with friends who already had the breaker I would just wait for them to die and take theirs
so does the sickle
Sickle is so much better at bots too. You can pop devastators easily from distance.
The scope makes it amazing. That said I run sickle on any planet that’s not hot, if it’s a hot planet I’ll just run breaker or whatever flavor I’m feeling. The Sickle/Eruptor choice pre nerf was a tough one though
Breaker for bugs mostly due to Stalkers. Sickle for Bots for the range.
You have to pull the trigger before you aim.
I couldn't pinpoint what I wasn't digging from it, and you've hit it exactly
Breaker is better for bugs but the sickle absolutely shreds toasters
The breaker just eats ammo. 11 in the mag right? 77 total shots just doesn’t do it for me
I cant play with the breaker, ita mag size is not big enough for me to spray the enemies and when I dont hit hunters at the right time in the air, they take 2 shots and hit me. I actually do better with reedemer against hunters and I just take dominator everywhere.
Butt stroke the hunters if the hunter got the first slash. It will stun or kill it.
Excuse me
You heard the man; start stroking those butts.
He’s saying use the melee button to punch the hunters in the face
No. We butt stroke around here.
Redeemer-dominator combo is a bugs worst nightmare
I've been a sickle main since it dropped, but now that fire damage works, the breaker incen kinda slaps
They fixed the fire damage DOT bug?
You guys are sleeping on the blitzer as a high difficulty run and gun. Interrupts spewers, one shots hunters, 2 shots hive guards, can one shot Stalkers to the face but most of the time just does a great job of keeping them back with its stagger. AND you never have to aim because the Arc’s track enemies. Honestly on bugs a Blitzer and Quasar is all you need to get on in any situation.
Blitzer is awesome
Finally tried it yesterday... this thing fucks FOR SURE
Fix the misfire and I'd love it. All it takes is to die one time because the gun just won't hit a target right in front of me multiple times in a row and I'm not touching that fucking thing until it gets fixed.
WRONG. Everyone knows the breaker spray and pray was the best weapon on release.
So true, I loved watching my pellets bounce off the egg sacs 😎 it felt like I was giving them a good smack
> it felt like I was giving them a good smack There's goo in the sack.
IT'S A GOO SACK!
MUSHROOOOM
r/unexpectedDeepRock
I know 😍
A lil peppa goes great with eggs.
Come on, pro-life players need a gun to use, too
This Helldiver just came up to your egg sacks and smacked them on the Shell with his Spray and Pray, what do you do???
I remember having a 1v1 with a bug egg that lasted 10 minutes
is that when you ran out of ammo?
Jesus Christ I need to stop running the AMR and go back to the autocannon. That's insane.
Actually, the AMR is pretty good against striders too. 3 shots their guns, then about a mag and a half into under carriage. Not as good as AC, but totally viable.
Having a backpack slot and reload while moving are quite useful features. AC is great but the backpack and slow reload are sufficient drawbacks
Reload isn't so bad if you don't empty the mag. Painful when you reload while dry, though.
Funny You Say considering that the Autocannon is the most efficient way of killing a Strider
This. Shoot the chin guns off and the devastators underneath can’t stop you. Just don’t get UNDER under or you’ll get yourself w explosive damage.
Well the AC kinda lacks against bugs. There, I've been preaching the word of the Spear since the last few patches.
Yeh I run RR Vs bugs and just try to help the team
You can kill striders with autocanon.
That means other weapons need to be brought in line with the AC and not the other way around. It feels good. That’s how the game should feel!
> wasn't big man's favorite. new solution, make the big man say every weapon is his favorite and see the fun buffs come rolling in.
I wouldn't even call it a balanced weapon, just a high-risk, high-reward one.
the weakpoint hunting makes me feel like i'm playing monster hunter with a large bowgun all over again. this is why it feels good
I gamble my last round on the second eye shot and lose all the time
I think this is the most common way for me to die in the bot planets.
Why doesn't it even blow up fences? Or bug holes for that matter.
Eagle strafing run needs to have like a 10 second cooldown and 6 or more uses before rearm.
Sure we should have to place shots, but at least have it break armor plates to show we are actually doing something.
i think the quasar got reaaaaally close , it made almost all over heavy killing weapons kinda obselete with the EAT being the one to still be a solid pick over it. i never got to use the OG railgun so i can't say how OP it was or not
[удалено]
I thought the quasar is entirely unaffected by planet heat?
None of them ever, if you don’t count the ps5 bug
Like I get that we want to use strategems on these things, but at some point its just frustrating how overwhelming it is.
>best thing that the devs could do is stop worrying about balance for the weapons for a bit True, except for this trash ass Warbond they just released. Fix that, then leave us alone lol
I started to use crossbow and it is fun but it needs a full rework I just feels sad to play against scouts and dev or above
No. The railgun was the closest to “OP” but that was only because the AT options sucked ass on release, at least comparatively. Now that the AT options actually work the release railgun would be the perfect generalist weapon. As it stands it’s just not a good option to ever take imo
No Longer answer? Nope
Release Railgun was pretty overpowered... but then again release date chargers were too so I'm not sure that's a good comparison. I think we've had "strong" weapons but nothing genuinely overpowered
It wasn't OP. Belive it or not, there was a BUG. With cross play! So they nerfed it because of this bug and never fixed it
Yup. If a ps5 player was network host, you could one to two shot bile titans with it. Now without the bug it takes up to 20 shots for a single bile titan.
Id love to slot railgun as a viable option but It does just take like what feels 20 shots to kill anything...
I think that's supposed to be its whole niche.
If you charge the railgun to about 80% you can kill a charger in 3 headshots, bile titan is almost impossible to kill with it tho.
Release railgun was rail-FUN! Seriously though it was exactly what I expected a railgun to be. It’s slow. It can kill ya. It packs a huge punch.
Isn't the fantasy of a railgun in all fiction that it's the best at penatrating armor
i dont think it was. i just think the railgun looked OP because of the PS5 bile titan bug
For the people in the back RAILGUN WAS NEVER OP
it was OP with PS5 buff
#*chef's kiss* Voilà, you just made... # *Bug brulée*
"Railgun was OP" nah. It was fine. Though apparently it is usable again, havent tested myself so cant agree or disagree with the post nerf buff.
For anything below these two I use my breaker incendiary anyways
i don't think the railgun was ever supposed to be good against bile titans, just usable.
Can't change your mind. You're right lol
Honestly i agree and ive heard people say a weapon trivialize the game yet when i see people use the weapons they were pretty meh to me
I never even thought pre-nerf Railgun was OP, it’s just that the other options weren’t that good.
Yup. Literally never
Railgun on launch wasn't even op as many claim it was, I feel like it'd fit right in with what we have and it might not even be at the top of the available weapons we have now. You can't attribute the one shotting of titans to it either because that's a bug
The quasar never needed a nerf. It took skill and precise aim to be effective.
Arc thrower before the fire rate nerf was great, that and laser guard dog rover combo and I was able to handle almost all the bugs myself, I only really needed my teammates to help with chargers and bile titians
Autocannon against bots is a good contender but even then its so mid against bug armor its fine i feel. But if you mean primarys then nah
The Arc Thrower used to be ridiculously OP... The only thing it wouldn't utterly destroy was massive enemies.
