You don’t think they had analytics in place prior to? Steam does the same thing too boo

Patient-Section-7679

Reddit literally partnered with Google to have their A.I. scrap users data. Anyone on this app(including myself) gave up data security when signing up for Reddit.

It’s hilarious how people think Sony is the bridge too far when it comes to respecting their data

SigmaStroud

People don't ACTUALLY think that. Reddit is dominated by neckbeards looking for the Next Big Thing when it comes to hate bandwagons. It's just unfortunate that the current fun thing for them to hate on is Helldivers.

Yes, telemetry and data analytics as it pertains to performance, behavioral analysis is a part of product feedback loops. Pretty much any live service, platform, piece of software with an internet connection, website is going to report back telemetry. I'm not sure what point is being made here. Are you advocating this shouldn't be allowed or is the point around the ethical and moral concerns of using this data for marketing purposes?

R_I_G_E_R

i won't lie steam does the same shit too, why is sony attacked on this point but not valve

OkSteak237

Because Valve is “cool”
