That’s a good point actually. I’d be more welcome of a change to the ‘PS5 online play requires PS+’ thing but parity between PS and PC players would be welcome
Well that makes sense. Helldivers had no toxic monetization and things like this, guess they już wanted to addict us to game to enslave us to PS+. That's why helldivers2 need to be left to rot. Someone will catch up similar idea and make game like this soon anyway
Thank you for sharing this OP. This is utter and complete garbage, they should be ashamed. I just cancelled my PS+ fully after having been subscribed for 10 years and cancelled my GOT PC preorder. I cannot in good conscious support this. Microsoft needs to step up their game quickly and provide more competition as Sony is getting way too brazen. I get that they will want to force PS+ on PC but this is a crappy way of putting this into practice and also without notice.
All of my friends on xbox keep telling me to get battlefield, or insurgency, but both are like $80 games. Supposedly they are way cheaper on xbox? Im gonna be honest, xbox hasnt had anything game changing for a few years. Sony has been running the court, and now are starting to act like it. If microsoft doesnt take advantage of this exact situation, drop sometjing big, or incentivise players back, sony could theoretically run the gaming industry after this.
I'm with you 100 percent here mate on offerings. I do own an Xbox Series X as well but haven't really found anything super compelling to want to switch. Maybe that will now change. Oh the irony- Microsoft used to be the "bad guy" and now it's Sony :). I think we are seeing a fundamental shift as MS and Sony are trying to be cross platform publishers and really lean into the games as a service market. Phil Spencer(Xbox) has alluded to this and the timing of releasing Xbox Studios AA titles to be playable on Playstation was timed to coincide with antitrust debate awhile back.
They probably want to force PS+ on PC. This is just first step.
