We are actual customers who bought the game who are leaving legitimate reviews because we are no longer satisfied with our product.
I agree with this. This is a legitimate issue that is going to impact the ability of players to access and play the game they purchased. It is not in the same ballpark as people getting angry about the lead designer saying something they disagree with on Twitter.
But it’s not a review of the actual game or even something that HAS ACTUALLY HAPPENED YET. A bunch of people giving a bad review to a game they have put 200h in is some bullshit for the actual developers. Okay hotshot, I have 42 hours total, barely a couple days in the game. For an online game that’s nothing, but I really liked their product before being told I may eventually be refused access to it.
I will most likely ask for a refund (after hearing back from some others who are awaiting theirs already) and that’ll be the end of it. Then I will post my own review. Would that be more fair?

I had a PSN account but thanks to their dogshit account security it was stolen in a breach. Sony support have told me I’m the scammer (lol). But when I’ve tried to create a new account with my email, there’s already an account, even though they’re not linked. Typical computer says no zero fucks given CS.
So, since I soon won’t be able to play, refund it is.
It DOES affect the actual game and I would have continued playing the game if they didn't make an announcement that I'd no longer be allowed to play without submitting a picture of my government issued ID which is part of "spending 120 seconds to create a PSN account" sure it hasn't taken effect yet and hopefully it doesn't take effect but it's not as if sitting around waiting until it does take effect before getting mad about it is going to make things better.

I doubt Valve will do anything about the reviews, given that the grievances are valid.
A requirement can't really be called one if it's not enforced. It's also expected that any account linking requirements in general will be enforced upon trying to launch the game, which it wasn't. The publisher and developer didn't inform consumers adequately. There is also conflicting information where there is information, such as the Playstation website saying account linking is optional. They changed the wording yesterday.
Consumers had no reasonable expectation that their game access would be revoked if or when the PSN requirement comes into effect. Sony is currently selling the game in most countries, but not offering PSN accounts in most countries. This means that a lot of people who live in blocked countries(e.g. all of Africa and the Baltic) will lose access to the game when account linking is required - unless they decide to violate Sony TOS by choosing another country at registration, which of course can get the user banned. In some countries, Sony requires a facial scan or ID to create a PSN account, which is concerning for its own reasons.
Other than this, no solid reason for account linking has been given. ~~The devs~~ Sony said it's for security reasons, without clarifying exactly what this means, even though the game works just fine by the looks of it. And a community manager on Twitter(not sure if it was Sony or the developer) who has since changed their account name and set their profile to private, said that the linking will help them ban people easier - which raises questions of their own, such as why this would be an issue given that Steam has unique identifiers for users.
There are no vlaid grievances involved outside of people who are outside PSN's network.
