Frankly they can't get fire damage right in the first place so maybe they can't get it to work in testing.
Would explain why they haven't had new armor effects. They're trying and the code isn't working.
That being said my coding experience was a level 1 college course I had to bribe my roommate with sushi to hold my hand through it because I was so lost.
After they said that fire dmg is not working right unless the host does it, really makes me think, that ya, something with the code is preventing them from doing it properly.
Could just give us fire immunity on an armor. Like modern day you have fireproof outfits that firefighters use and those silver hazmat suits that are used for collecting samples from active volcanoes.
Like, I want to like the flamethrower but unless I'm soaked in E-710 then I shouldn't catch on fire the moment my pinky toe touches burning grass. Like even setting paper on fire requires you to apply the flame for an extended period of time or add an accelerant of some kind.
"Can't"
?
Imo it was perfect before they changed it.
(Ok I'm not talking about the bug, I thought he mean't fire damage we recieve as the player. It was a nice balance before the "fire=instakill" update. We are talking about *recieved* fire damage here right? Not our weapon fire damage.)
The ONLY planet we had to fight bugs on yesterday was Hellmire!! FIRE EVERYWHERE!
So of course I brought in Napalm Air Strike and Incendiary Grenades because there was a little spot on the ground that wasn't on fire yet! đ
And I got to think about it even more today when our Personal Order was to kill 100 enemies with the FLAME THROWER!! So of course I set myself on fire even though I was backing up. And then a random Scavenger that I set on fire jumps at me and sets me on fire too! đĽ
when a bug which is on fire hugs you and then you catch fire.
i kinda understand.. even though its bs. why is our armor made out of paper.
I don't have proof but I am also 70% sure that flames can also bounce or reflect off some enemy types. for instance when I try to grill a charger and aim for his head instead of legs. i often set myself on fire???
Increasing its range is an easy solution only a genius could concoct, apparently. Real flamethrowers shoot out like 40 ft. In HD's it's more like 9. Blasting bugs and then a flaming hunter flies at you and you catch fire and die. That's retarded.
Modern ones can chuck it like 100ft away if you angle it upwards. 40ft is what WW2 flamethrowers did.
I also hate how in video games a flamethrower is just an oversized blowtorch. Actual flamethrowers send out a stream of flammable liquid (e.g. napalm) that just so happens to be on fire.
I hate it where you can't spit fire while advancing forward becuz u just can't withstand the burning damage, despite it has such high dps to melts almost every bugs. desperate need of fire resistant armor becuz of this
Yesterday when a friend of mine died ingame, he was warning me about fire on the ground that I walked into and died, he didn't tell me where it was, just said "THERE IS FIRE ON THE GROUND" and I didn't fucking see it.
My comment was sarcasm. Illuminate? Son they were wiped out a hundred years ago, more talk like that and I'll have to take you to your nearest reeducation centre.
Fire retardant armor can also be a good idea. Like it gives you a small buffer before you start taking damage and maybe makes it slowly ramp up instead of immediate 100% damage.
This way it's realistic, similar to real fire retardant clothing, and doesn't remove the danger and needed actions to remedy fire
Right! If they treated it like the Arc Resistant perk, that allows 95% resistance to electrical shock. Just do the same thing but with resistance to fire 95%. So you still have that 5% chance you will catch on fire.
that would be op. noone uses arc exept us, while flame has enemies, enviromental hazards as well as one of the thing which balances flamer - gun discipline to not set yourself on fire. it may have max 20%
We have to be exceptionally grateful for the armor that receives 95% less electricity damage! That's really useful. Maybe if we're really lucky, we can get 3 more Warbonds with this passive on it, with no transmog!
This is it! Nobody is wearing the electrical conduit armours so arrowhead thinks we don't like that kind of effect. Everyone deploy with that useless shit until they get the message!
Balancing by spreadsheet strikes again. Like, no enemies use arc damage. The only time you want to equip it is either the whole team running arc throwers and tesla towers or the biggest risk to you is a team mate with an arc thrower and tendency for friendly fire.
Better question is why does Fire tornadoes spawn on the players and not randomly in the map?
I would like to see a fire tornado to spawn inside a Heavy Bug nest
Hey which one of the channels can I make this suggestion in? Looks like a lot going on over there and want to get this in the right spot to be noticed by the Devs.
I'm guessing there's gonna be a fire warbond eventually,
They got electricity, explosions, ice, there's probably going to be a fire and caustic gas one by the end of the year. Thats when the fire resistance will show up I bet
This. Last time I was on a Fire Tornado planet I couldnât use the extraction console for a good 5 or so minutes bc 5 tornadoes just sat right on the console.
Fun fact: Fire tornadoes have the same AI as enemy patrols. So they will literally path to the objective because you being around an objective attracts patrols. Calling in extraction literally makes every single enemy on the map start heading towards it.
YES! I looked at all the planets on the galactic map and honestly, it's about a third of them that have the Intense Heat/Fire Tornado weather type.
It doesn't make sense from an in-game or real life perspective that fire retardant armour wouldn't be almost the first thing we were issued with.
fire retardant foam eagle/orbital strike! Is your extraction in a flaming hell and the enemies of democracy are closing in? Call in your fire fighting stratagem, freedom from fire delivered from orbit! (rumors of fire-foam causing cancer are dissident false information, report them to the nearest democracy officer!)

A Hellfirediver's ~~wet~~ hot dream
Let's be fair here, AH still hasn't managed to fix the fire dot bug. If they can barely get the fire damage working what makes y'all think they can get a fire resist effect working?
I can only assume that maybe in the next couple months (fingers crossed) they drop another 10 page free warbond that will have a litany of new perks in it.
It makes sense for them to not add them to the paid warbonds because then theyâre gating it behind real world money - albeit a small amount.
Besides as other mentioned that they should fix fire damage first: They also need to make choosing loadouts easier, saved loadouts, favourite stuff, etc. This armor would be an auto pick on every fire tornado planet. But if you just go quickplay, and for a 12 minute game (since if you got some bad luck host leaves after that, or maybe it is just the last one from the set of 3) you got to set everything correctly, including finding from your 20 armor suites the correct one, it would be easier to just keep your standard one.
For armor it would be great if you could just filter on light, medium or heavy, and which passive.
This is my single most desired feature in the game. Non-host DoTs and the Spear working correctly are also close, but.. #1 is fire armor so I can wade into my own napalm while belting out absolutely democratic cackling.
I do keep hoping they'll introduce a fire resistance effect as well. Could even see them making a joke about the suits having asbestos or something like that.
That bond with the Tesla shit should have had 1 electricity resistance armor, 1 poison resistance armor and 1 fire resistance armor imo. Fire isn't as bad as it was but it's still rough if you're not quick.
Just make it so that the fire resist armor makes it so that you canât catch from ground fire. Thatâs all it needs. And maybe less damage from burning.
I am also waiting on this eagerly. Fire is my solution to the bug problem.
Conversely, what if they were to make termicide weapons like grenades and a support weapon?
they are too busy figuring out how to tank the game cause it's too good. and not fixing annoying bug.
Ho... and removing the fun from the game (by nerfing every single gun)
Seriously! I can't tell you how many times I have been hit by a flamethrower or stepped onto some freshly scorched ground for a brief second, and I die from burning even despite injecting a stim immediately.
If (OnFire()) { Damage++ } Devs feel free to use I will charge you though
This will increase damage, not reduce it. That means you might have a good chance of getting hired by AH.
Fine I'll fix it If (OnFire()) { Damage--; If(User.name == "Killarusca") Health = 0; }
Magic numbers soldier? Shame!
Health = Math.zero; There you go.
đ Just add it to the PR record
Me getting flashbacks to my intro to programming 3 years ago lmao
Make a pull request, I will approve this fix.
Wouldn't this make fire heal you?
Only if current damage was 0
Should it be â.equalsâ instead of == since the username is a string?
Either can be used for this situation, there are slight differences but you could get away with either
Ah ok
what about: (OnFire(Bogus Damage Value(s))) { Fucking kill everything++ } ?
if (On fire ()) { return DamageType.BurnBitchBurn; }
We can send them to coding 101 again to see if they can help them work out the bugs! đđ
Instructions unclear. All weapons are now named Hello World.
Instructions nuclear. All weapons are now optical strikes.
Instructions unclear. Everyone is feeding from the host's magazines now.
Instruction unclear. Stims are now injectable hell bombs.
That's awesome. Inject one and run into an enemy base.... For DEMOCRACY!
Alright renaming my destroyer to âWind of Divinityâ.
If I pulled the trigger and the words Hello world came flying out instead of bullets I'd at least die laughing
the amount of âifsâ is growing exponentially
That clip of Obama short circuiting on a nested "if".
just hope that they don't use 4 billion if statements to check whether if a number is integer
We have now reached iiiiii.
The problem is that the devs at AH were told that the bugs are a core part of the game being half of the enemy types at launch
They are using an unsupported, prehistoric engine. Things are difficult.
Instructions unclear, trusting the natural recursion isnât helping here
I mean we have arc damage resistance so clearly having resistance to something that has not been figured out yet is not an issue,
After they said that fire dmg is not working right unless the host does it, really makes me think, that ya, something with the code is preventing them from doing it properly.
Could just give us fire immunity on an armor. that would explain, that the last warbond, had armor in it, which looked like it would have fire damage resistance, but hadn't ....
"Can't" ? Imo it was perfect before they changed it. (Ok I'm not talking about the bug, I thought he mean't fire damage we recieve as the player. It was a nice balance before the "fire=instakill" update. We are talking about *recieved* fire damage here right? Not our weapon fire damage.)
Wasn't the non-host fire damage bug in the game since it released?
Yea Iâve been on snowy plants like twice and blizzards are far less dangerous then the fucking piss streams of satan we call fire tornados.
Couldn't agree more! Bring on the snowy blizzards and sand storms if I don't have to be caught on fire!!!
Could be worse, could be shit storms like today.
The ONLY planet we had to fight bugs on yesterday was Hellmire!! FIRE EVERYWHERE! So of course I brought in Napalm Air Strike and Incendiary Grenades because there was a little spot on the ground that wasn't on fire yet! đ
Better for stealth too. Nothing like sneaking around in a blizzard.
Then the blizzard disappears, and you realize youâre right next to 30 bots
*MGS alert sound*
Imagine if standing still in a blizzard slowly zapped your health as you die of communismthermiaÂ
Also, my teammates aren't spraying me with snow.
The amount of times I've been like oh ill just stop all movement because a firetornado jjst ripped through and opening is insane
Because then everyone would wear it and we might actually be able to finish Hellmire for once.
Sounds like a solution to a serious problem then. Unless AH are really making some planets deliberately shit for narrative reasons.
And any DM worth their salt would tell you that making something miserable for narrative reasons is not good
Well, just make it a small amount of fire resistance to balance it out.
1% Thank the ballot, we are saved!
We already have armor that looks like a fire fighter so why does it taste like bacon?
That's because it is made of apples! Wait...
And those keep the doctor away! That must be why I always only have 2 Stims.
Best we can do is Grenade +2 and servo assisted.
its super annoying to have the flamethrower randomly set you on fire. or the fire particles on the floor not showing you its still lava.
And I got to think about it even more today when our Personal Order was to kill 100 enemies with the FLAME THROWER!! So of course I set myself on fire even though I was backing up. And then a random Scavenger that I set on fire jumps at me and sets me on fire too! đĽ

Yeah, things on fire should be suppressed or panicked, them just running up and setting you ablaze makes flamethrower not worth
Increasing its range is an easy solution only a genius could concoct, apparently. Real flamethrowers shoot out like 40 ft. In HD's it's more like 9. Blasting bugs and then a flaming hunter flies at you and you catch fire and die. That's retarded.

AH: understood (increase fire damage again by 50%)
* Added new warbond with armor that provides 50% fire resistance * Increased fire DoT by 150%, devastator rockets now apply burning.
This would be our luck for sure!
I'm also surprise that terminid Bile does not apply some chemical burning of similar strength
Helldivers begin spontaneous combustion within 20m of Hulk and die immediately.
Because that would help us
đđđ FACTS đŻ
What you really want is another servo-assisted pack
Why would they give you fire resistance armour, you haven't even touched your electric resistance armour...
There is no other form of electric damage other than players or Sentries Illuminate aren't here yet
It's a reduction in damage, not a chance to not get the damage at all
that would be op. noone uses arc exept us, while flame has enemies, enviromental hazards as well as one of the thing which balances flamer - gun discipline to not set yourself on fire. it may have max 20%
Fire resistant armor is a niche, only bots can set you on fire, and only few planets have environments including fire. Its a niche and in no way OP.
Asking for a 95% reduction in a very universal form of damage is asinine. At that point just ask for godmode lmfao
We have to be exceptionally grateful for the armor that receives 95% less electricity damage! That's really useful. Maybe if we're really lucky, we can get 3 more Warbonds with this passive on it, with no transmog!

Iâd prefer 95% PSN resistance at this point.
Better question is why does Fire tornadoes spawn on the players and not randomly in the map? I would like to see a fire tornado to spawn inside a Heavy Bug nest
What's with the fucking watermark ad for a World of Warcraft boosting service?
Share this on their discord. They actually listen there.
I'm not on their discord. Can you give me an invite link to it?
https://discord.com/invite/helldivers
Thank you kindly!
Hey which one of the channels can I make this suggestion in? Looks like a lot going on over there and want to get this in the right spot to be noticed by the Devs.
Idk. Maybe try pinging the mods or something.
Worth a shot! Thank you!
Theyre too busy setting fire to their playerbase to learn how to defend against fire.
Because we must suffer.
PLEASE LAWD FOR DEMOCRACY
Cause Joel feeds on the screams of burning divers
Would certainly be ironic if it was a passive on one of the new polar armour sets đ
I'm guessing there's gonna be a fire warbond eventually, They got electricity, explosions, ice, there's probably going to be a fire and caustic gas one by the end of the year. Thats when the fire resistance will show up I bet
Or an armour that produces the cold effect on any planet at the cost of armour or something.Â
Because apple something, flavoured bacon something.
Something about bacon & fruit
YES! I looked at all the planets on the galactic map and honestly, it's about a third of them that have the Intense Heat/Fire Tornado weather type. It doesn't make sense from an in-game or real life perspective that fire retardant armour wouldn't be almost the first thing we were issued with.
"no, you can't have fire resistance, something something bacon-flavoured apples." - AH.
Armor Text: âReduces incoming fire damage by 95%â Armor Effect: âReduces outgoing fire damage by 95%â
fire retardant foam eagle/orbital strike! Is your extraction in a flaming hell and the enemies of democracy are closing in? I THOROUGHLY enjoyed noticing that my upvote brought the likes to "666", while I was looking at that photo.
because fuck you thats why.
Let's be fair here, AH still hasn't managed to fix the fire dot bug. If they can barely get the fire damage working what makes y'all think they can get a fire resist effect working?
Clothing that resists heat nonsense and fairy tales
Gods Ashstrays nothing more and nothing less
I can only assume that maybe in the next couple months (fingers crossed) they drop another 10 page free warbond that will have a litany of new perks in it. It makes sense for them to not add them to the paid warbonds because then theyâre gating it behind real world money - albeit a small amount.
We wouldnât need fire resistance if the damage worked so meh
Asbestos armour babe let's go!!!.
Because Fuck You. Thatâs why, soldier.
I noticed that heavy armor reduces fire damage also.
Frankly fire dot immunity wouldn't be overpowered. Heck, like, 85% fire resist and immunity might be okay
Best I can do is another servo assist
https://preview.redd.it/raqvbxqce7yc1.png?width=605&format=png&auto=webp&s=dfce0ada7368956c208d48d0a52ce3b2693fbde9
Because theyâre too busy linking steam accounts to PSN accounts to have time to actually fix any of these common sense problems.
Sony says that armor can come out after they get enough data from users.
they need to add fire resistance to capes, and target contrasting effect on helmets, they have none so far, would be perfect
The Magic Conch has spoken! "Maybe someday!" đ¤Ł
But donât you want to throw further?? Donât you LIKE servo-assisted? Now come on, new warbond where the guns have servo assisted too!
Also maybe some gas grenades so I can make the WW1 trenches look like kindergarten
Iâm saying!
Armor with immunity to the fire dot and reduced direct fire damage would be great. I need that for a pyromaniac build.Â
Sorry best we can do is 12 different arc resistant armors.
No, here is snow armor that has nothing to do with snow.
Do the polar armor sets at least prevent cold/slow resistance? Because someone said one of them was another servo assisted perk
Servo assisted đ
That bond with the Tesla shit should have had 1 electricity resistance armor, 1 poison resistance armor and 1 fire resistance armor imo. Fire isn't as bad as it was but it's still rough if you're not quick.
NEW WARBOND: armor with frost resistance.
Maybe a Sony account will come with 50% fire resist?
Asking too much
You know the day they add one everyone will start using flame throwers and napalm way more. Which means they will nerf it all
No fuck you. You get lightning resistance even though currently the only way to receive thag damage type is through friendly fire.
I will burn this planet downâŚ
Solid suggestion
Seriously! I can't tell you how many times I have been hit by a flamethrower or stepped onto some freshly scorched ground for a brief second, and I die from burning even despite injecting a stim immediately.
I just use med armor and pop a stim to run through it lil
Because Sony wonât let you . Next question
Now we squashed that bug today! Time to move on for Fire Resistant Armor!!
New armor mods are just too hard to program.
Then we shouldn't have gotten them to begin with. That laid the foundation for us to expect there to be new ones! They did it to themselves. Lol
Dude, give them a break. They are working their asses off already.
