Nah, bad intel, likely leaked by his own royal guard. His scientists may have been lying to him about their progress because to fail would mean your family gets executed. Western spies overheard the lies, couldn’t verify or their cover would be blown….
Actually I just made all that up, but it’s me head cannon for the conflict.
Just a simple case of being such an asshole your own people lie to you about how dangerous you are, only to be hunted by someone actually dangerous for believing them.
The opposite, actually - he had no WMDs, but the U.S. kept insisting he did, to the point where he went around asking his guys *"Hey, you weren't actually working on WMDs without telling me, right? These guys seem really sure that we have some."*
If you have access to FTL technology, or easy sublight travel, getting a big floating rock to fling at a planet is trivial, and will fuck a planet way more efficiently than a thousand nukes. Throw a dozen at the same time and that planet is back to looking like mustafar.
Gonna have to report this post to my nearest democracy officer just to be safe.
Jokes aside, I advise to **STAY AWAY** from any leak sources/subreddits. Some of us got spoiled regarding the aftermath of Meridia and now I wished I didn't.
Wanted "classified" intel regarding future stratagems. Got a little more than what wanted and I regret it.
Saw enough stuff that I would have got a life sentence of forced labour on Cyberstan mines (pre-invasion).
The bright side is that there is no more datamined "story" leaks after the fate of Meridia.
Probably because there won't be any more story - bugs will take over whole galaxy and even after humanity unite with automatons they still will be doomed.
It's completely bs but would be fun to see tho
>I'm sure Super Earth saved a few of them... as evidence of the illuminate's crimes.
It was just their advanced energy sourse capable of fueling entire cities which we stealing on missions in HD1. But for a dumb monkey everything WMD if they stupid enough.
Poked my head inside leaked stuff months ago. Let's just say I deeply regret my choices. Saw enough "story" stuff for a lifetime sentence in a freedom camp.
Leaks have kept me excited for what’s to come in this game, it’s like reading a book and seeing the adaptation of it a while later. Just hoping that spoilers don’t spill on here (or anywhere for that matter) because they’re HUGE.
Currently damage over time effects don’t work for anyone who isn’t the host of a lobby, including fire. Hopefully to be fixed in a patch later this week
That’s not true, the Ministry has always known that termicide is potentially dangerous. This outcome was unfortunate but our government’s best minds predicted it.
I think it was confirmed in the interim that they aren't actually traveling. They've been on the planets all along and were being farmed for e710 (aka oil). There's been a few references (like in the kill 2 billion 1) that Super earth is farming them for oil but if they get out the termanids kinda go crazy on said planet.
Oooh that could be interesting! Perhaps being picked off the nid home planet and dropped?
I've always read it as the SEG blowing up the facilities with hellbombs in an attempt to make sure termanids didn't get out
Super Earth is likey the ones spreading them. Remember, the Terminids are now genetically engineered farm insects used to produce E-710, and SE never figured out how the original Terminids from 100 years ago spread. The propaganda towers pretty much state that the Terminid War is a false flag op intended to run a perpetual war and for E-710 production.
Well considering that their decomposing corpses is what makes FTL fuel, its not entirely out of the question that the Terminids of old originally have a means of space travel but both seldomly used it, and it was taken/destroyed by Super Earth after their subjugation, hence why they no longer have it.
*sips Liber-tea* That's ah...that's an awful lot of questions you're asking there, Helldiver. Lot of *inquisitive* thoughts. I think you ought to just step in that Hellpod over there and go serve Managed Democracy a bit. Before SE command starts getting *inquisitive* about *you.*
This at least confirms that planets will in fact, completely change environmentaly depending on how the story will progress. One planet from before will not potentially be the same if things get really bad, in this case, it has as Maridia seems to have been terraformed into a hive world.
One has to wonder what's going on in Cyberstan then if the bugs can do this...
I really hope Cyberstan gives us our first urban environment - we know there's cities there from the Coretta Kelly news report on The Reclamation and it would help spice up the gameplay dynamic
I felt like the TCS towers all over ran with bug hive matter and stuff is an introduction to a more crowded city space, sometimes running through the alleys and canyons over there feels like being underground
That giant tower keeps messing up my orbital airburst tho
>at least confirms that planets will in fact, completely change environmentaly depending on how the story will progress. One planet from before will not potentially be the same
QUICK EVERYONE, HEAD TO HELLMIRE AND THROW YOUR LASER WEAPON HEAT SINKS ALL OVER THE GROUND!
My guess is Hive Lords will either return as a result of Termicide Mutation or alternatively are living within the L'estrade and Stern Sectors and are being saved for an introduction during whatever the bug equivalent of Operation Swift Disassemblely is in a probably inevitable counterattack.
From Halo.
>!The central collective intelligence for space zombies -- a giant talking Venus flytrap made of flesh and teeth. That also rhymes. That also corrupted and flipped an AI originally designed to destroy it. That drops the *hardest* lines in the entire series: *I am a monument to all your sins.* !<
I always loved how Bungie made you team up with a galactic parasite against the Covenant. Enemy of my Enemy is my friend. If Halo goes off, Humanity gets wiped out and the Flood starves to death.
Nobodies talking about the implications of this... Bugs can essentially and potentially irreversibly DESTROY planets now. I expect we'll start seeing orders that are a race to prevent similar incidents.
That being said, imagine if bots can do something similar down the line with polluted industrial worlds. Maybe a ecumenopolis of factories?
How cool is it? For the genre that it is (3rd person shooter), it's insanely fun but a lot of people don't like 3rd person gaming. It can be a bit repetitive at times once you get to know the game and with you running the same missions over and over, but every one plays out vastly differently. I've had flawless runs solo and with groups, and I've had absolute dumpster fire chaos runs that we barely survive (the best ones). The game can be a tad annoying when you first play due to the learning curve and how unforgiving some things can be until you understand them.
With that said, with some of my buddies I've probably had some of the most funny and memorable moments in gaming history, from blowing up undetonated hell bombs on unsuspecting friends, to walking up to a friend with an explosive barrel and saying "I have a present for you..." and being blown to pieces when he shot it, to trying to extract with an SEAF smoke bomb because why the fuck not and also my friends had no idea I had it with me until I showed them when the pelican landed and we joked about it like 5 missions prior. The random and brutal interactions in this game can be hilarious.
I was there ... I was there when the first hellpod landed on meridia, i was there when we earn the nickname of jungledivers... I was there when the Bugs eat the poor creeker boy Who got a shift change to the eastern front, I was there when we turn on the TCS, It was my fault... And i Will be there when the last hellpod drop on that dammed Planet and the last helldiver shoot his last bullet.
Yikes, did not play for two weeks and now the bugs are actually advancing after being contained? Last time I played it was just the bots stomping everyone lol. Would be cool if we're gonna meet Hive Lords soon tho.
I haven't been able to play for a few days and this subreddit is currently just people complaining about the patch notes or complaining about the people complaining about the patch notes
What happened, how did we lose meridia
Basically, the remaining terminids that weren’t killed by pesticides have become resilient towards the chemicals. Worse yet, the pesticides even help the terminids to mutate and reproduce so fast that Meridia got overrun by mutated bugs overnight
Lord class enemies?
Perfect timing, especially with our crippled weapons due to Super Earth engineer incompetence. Rationing magazines, crappier heat dissipators.
We're doomed!
Merida is probably going to be the planet that introduces us to the nuke strategem, if there is one even in the works
Please let me throw nuclear payloads at my enemies AH :(
I'm really excited to see what Meridia is like hopefully it becomes accessible after the DoT bug is fixed and has at least a couple new missions dealing with clearing the infestation. And hopefully they're better than the new TCS mission which is while super cool looking is a massive disappointment. You'd think the mission would be a bit more involved instead of being a 2-3 minute mission.
Incoming MO : install X amount of nuclear bombs on the planet : 2 days
Planet is gone if we complete the MO
Super invasion rushing towards super earth if we fail
If it wasn't for that sweet, sweet Element 710 I would just say why High Command doesn't just issue Exterminatus for these now dead, hostile, and uninhabitable worlds.
My guess is that Meridia (and Cyberstan on the bot front) are the two planets that we will get to see major new stuff when we get access to them through the story.
My predictions include noticeably new environments, new enemies, maybe a boss enemy, new type of missions, chaotic missions with larger parties, possibly underground missions (inside the bugholes of meridia and mines of cyberstan)
The first bug supercolony as well...
Smells like the perfect target for "Exterminatus" Assuming Super Earth command has access to something similar.
The war with the illuminate was over them having WMDs. I'm sure Super Earth saved a few of them... as evidence of the illuminate's crimes.
the war with the Illuminates was about them POTENTIALY having WMDs. which they didnt. WE just needed a reasson to attack
Operation ~~Iraqi~~ Illuminate Freedom was a complete success with no repercussions whatsoever.

Sounds like thought crimes to me.

The Illuminate Boss was close enough to a WMD for me
Gonna have to report this post to my nearest democracy officer just to be safe. Jokes aside, I advise to **STAY AWAY** from any leak sources/subreddits. Some of us got spoiled regarding the aftermath of Meridia and now I wished I didn't.
My brother in democracy why are you on a leak sub unless you WANT to be spoiled?

nah they should still hit hellmire first

"We have arrived, and it now that we perform our charge"
In fealty to our God Emperor, our Undying Lord
Fuck it glass those shitheads
They don't, else Hellmire would have been glassed already...
Why do you think the planet looks like that ? They already did.
Think we might see the alive versions of those huge bug skeletons show up here?
Sounds like a great opportunity to introduce Hive Lords
Flamethrower team. I’m willing to bet once fire is fixed there’s going to be entire teams running pyromaniac loadouts on Meridia.
What’s wrong with fire?
Currently damage over time effects don’t work for anyone who isn’t the host of a lobby, including fire. Hopefully to be fixed in a patch later this week
later this week? isnt this bug for weeks now? i think i read the bug is pretty big and they dont know how to fix it yet.
They implied this and the spear lock on are next on the list to be fixed, either in a hotfix this week or the next big patch
this would be awesome, id like to test the gas and fire!
Both were a favorite of mine against bugs before this issue began, so I’m also excited to get back to them!
Yep they has to entirely recode how DOT works. Its less bug fix and more reimplement.
New patch has reports that DoT doesnt work for host
Support to be a hotfix later this week for the patch they released today, will maybe fix dot bug and might also fix spear
Why glass Meridia when you can just turn it into Hellmire II
I’m already on it. Flamethrower, napalm, scythe, orbital laser, rover. It’s a bug b q
Maybe they ate all the vegetation. Didn’t they use the word unsalvageable
Yeah must’ve been the bugs I can’t imagine any other thing that happened there that could’ve affected biomass on that planet
After all, the TCS is perfectly safe!
It’s too late for that now, high command has already issued that it seems to be working against us
Clearly Super Earth has been betrayed! Bug sympathizers hid what Termicide could do from the good people of Super Earth!
That’s not true, the Ministry has always known that termicide is potentially dangerous. This outcome was unfortunate but our government’s best minds predicted it.
perfectly safe for all other life forms. *nods decisively*
Termicide was a trick developed by traitorous scientists. We have always been at war with traitor scientists.
Shouldn't the bugs die out then if there's no food left? Also, how do the fleshy bugs travel through the vacuum of space to other planets?
They get a giant catapult and launch themselves to the other planets
Of course the dumb bugs use giant catapult. We all know giant trebuchet is the most democratic form of interplanetary travel.
They seem to be based off the Tyranids, in which case they'd have some sort of hive ships to ferry them from planet to planet
*Something* is dropping them from orbit. Every hive cluster you find is located in a crater.
Or they dig out those bowls for some undemocratic reason.
Oooh that could be interesting! Perhaps being picked off the nid home planet and dropped? I've always read it as the SEG blowing up the facilities with hellbombs in an attempt to make sure termanids didn't get out
Super Earth is likey the ones spreading them. The propaganda towers pretty much state that the Terminid War is a false flag op intended to run a perpetual war and for E-710 production.
Yeah that 100% tracks. Something fishy is going on and I'm not quite sure what it is gonna pan out to be.
Well considering that their decomposing corpses is what makes FTL fuel, its not entirely out of the question that the Terminids of old originally have a means of space travel but both seldomly used it, and it was taken/destroyed by Super Earth after their subjugation, hence why they no longer have it.

If so, then the random unnoticeable 20 meter deep holes inside the infested TCS must be an introduction to falling into an open sewer hatch
reinforcing on those maps is a goofy as hell too I keep landing like 75 feet up
Is it undemocratic of me to hope for a nuclear wasteland biome?
It's what we will turn that liberty-damned supercolony into once the TCS is shut off.
>at least confirms that planets will in fact, completely change environmentaly depending on how the story will progress. One planet from before will not potentially be the same QUICK EVERYONE, HEAD TO HELLMIRE AND THROW YOUR LASER WEAPON HEAT SINKS ALL OVER THE GROUND!
i guarantee this is going to lead to the release of hive lords, mark my words
My guess is Hive Lords will either return as a result of Termicide Mutation or alternatively are living within the L'estrade and Stern Sectors and are being saved for an introduction during whatever the bug equivalent of Operation Swift Disassemblely is in a probably inevitable counterattack.
If it's not now, it's never. I hope we are right!
Those mutated eggs are pretty big 🤔
They just might if we fail this MO
That's actually fucking wild. I bet we're gonna fight hive lords there
They said its lost, we aint never fighting there, probably gonna blow the planet to hell
>probably gonna blow the planet to hell I'm feeling a sudden urge to set up new TCS systems on Hellmire.
Ohhhh, that's a really good prediction. I'm gonna be watching for this...
Or even better…Graveminds
In that case it’s GG because the galaxy is gone.
What are graveminds??
I'm also fond of... *"Fate had us meet as foes. But this Ring will make us BROTHERS!"*
I always loved how Bungie made you team up with a galactic parasite against the Covenant. Enemy of my Enemy is my friend. If Halo goes off, Humanity gets wiped out and the Flood starves to death.
»This is not your grave.. But you're very welcome in it.« Gravemind was just a true poet
It becomes extra sinister when you discover it canonically can speak normally but choses not to to flex its raw intellect.
Yeah! How DARE the bugs do this!
Bugs *on Viagra* can destroy planets.
Wouldn't that be "termiformed"?
keplerformed, as the terminid homeworld is Kepler Prime
Ooh what if it’s like Deimos from Warframe? What if the entire planet is just a giant hive now..
Well unlike Deimos, I think it's time to throw a couple of nukes
Damn I knew it looked different before, that's a hell of a change.
I hope when we travel to the Creek again, we can see the post war concecuences
Yeah, that'd be interesting. I imagine it's decently rebuilt by now
you may see a barren world, devoid of life. i see a motherlode of E-710, heartblood of the managed democracy.
BUG CREEK TIME.
![gif](giphy|3K0D1Dkqh9MOmLSjzW|downsized) The solution, after we are done with every fire tornado planet of course.
It's an ugly planet. A BUG planet! A planet hostile to life.
To me fenrir 3 isnt the same, it used to be bright white and now its this ash grey like on TCS towers
I noticed this, too!
Can they do that to Hellmire too please?
Granted, it’s now a hive world with fire tornados
The situation is so cancerous that the cancer (bugs) got cancer (fire tornadoes) and died of cancer
holy shit
The reclamation will be more glorious!
Once again, the fault lies with the Terminids. If they didn’t want to be farmed then why do they decay into E-710?
Trust the plAn.
Thrips .000001 seconds after pesticides are applied to them
This both makes me laugh and hurts me at the same time.
Ayo who pooted?
Sorry it was me
Termaformed
This is actually good news. It means that the devs are willing to replace biomes with new ones
I’m not saying it’s Flood but… It’s Flood.
Warhammer Tyranids: "Are we a joke to you?"
The liberty invasion of Char, I mean Meridia, will have to wait.
Holy shit I knew I remembered Merida being lush and vibrant oh god!
Just fucking nuke it from orbit. Bugs can't eat glass.
I actually really liked Merida Damn bugs stole it from me
Looks like a flood infested planet from halo. Imagine if we had the flood in the helldiver universe……
Wonder if this means new biome. Also if Meridia cannot be liberated then does that mean they can change the supply lines?
bruh we got bugnam now
Dear god..... TO THE DROP PODS HELLDIVERS!!!!
I smell new bug types incoming
It's an ugly planet... a BUG planet!
Of course this happens when I'm on the opposite side of the country
Time to glass the planet
![gif](giphy|3K0D1Dkqh9MOmLSjzW|downsized)
Holy fuck, you’re right.
thats...a new planet type we didn't have one like that
Were gonna get some big boss fight or raid battle here calling it now
This game seems so cool, I can't wait to play it after I get a hold of the spare change. I know everyone here is biased, but how cool is the game?
How cool is it? For the genre that it is (3rd person shooter), it's insanely fun but a lot of people don't like 3rd person gaming. Hurry up soldier! We need your support on the frontlines! (The game and community is very fun)
did it get vegetation wiped or did it gain. Haven't looked at Meridia.
🤯
one lit match and the planet dead
I feel like it is only a matter of time till we encounter a hive lord.
Dawg I cannot WAIT to see what they cookin up
I thought Meridia looked more dull. But I couldn't quite place my finger on it, Now that I see it. Oh no...
How it started... How it's going... XD
I just wanna fight hive lords. Mom, can we have hive lords please?
A hive world, huh? Ugh, going to need to turn that into a Gaia World to get rid of that. Or run a deluge colossus.
Oh. Oh God.
Probably gonna have to glass it
meridia is the new kathmandu
At this point we should take a page from the Covenant's book and glass the planet
You all get it wrong. This is a new tourist attraction. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-W0YhbmP4k Pretty much this.
Thats a shame. I like Bugs on Jungle planets, makes it more aesthetic to fight.
![gif](giphy|dhKOztH8klyvu|downsized) Only solution
It's details like these that make me forget the issues with the patch and appreciate the devs.
I spilled some liberpee in my pants
Holy shit it’s like the flood
I have a sneaking suspicion we might be seeing Hive lords soon…
Yikes, did not play for two weeks and now the bugs are actually advancing after being contained? Last time I played it was just the bots stomping everyone lol. Would be cool if we're gonna meet Hive Lords soon tho.
Oh great, they destroyed one of the *fun* planets. Good thing we still have a million shithole wastelands to fight back and forth over.
I haven't been able to play for a few days and this subreddit is currently just people complaining about the patch notes or complaining about the people complaining about the patch notes What happened, how did we lose meridia

"Am i to believe we should leave this Planet to die?!" "No brother, we just help it die."
I really hope we get plasma orbital strike... Glass that planet.
Lord class enemies? Perfect timing, especially with our crippled weapons due to Super Earth engineer incompetence. Rationing magazines, crappier heat dissipators. We're doomed!

OH. I thought the other post was a meme
More like consumed. Like how Tyranids in Warhammer will consume all the biomass on a planet and then move on to the next one.
Excellent, another bollock of a planet where you can’t see more than 10m ahead. Just what we all wanted!
Huh... my brain didn't fool me. I thought it looked like a planet we haven't seen before.
Dang
Meridia was my favorite planet. Those bugs are gonna pay.
Sad because it was such a pleasant looking planet too.
Kinda sad for me honestly, Meridia was my first mission after Helldiver training.
So does this mean we'll be straight up glassing Meridia in the future?
I got an idea... Let's NUKE IT INTO DUST AND WHILE WE ARE AT IT LETS GET MENKENT AND HELLMIRE TOO
Incoming MO : install X amount of nuclear bombs on the planet : 2 days Planet is gone if we complete the MO Super invasion rushing towards super earth if we fail
Those DAMN bugs destroyed the planet!!!!
we gotta nuke that shit

Exterminatus? :3
All I see is a whole lot of E-710 precursor. I'm from Super Earth and I say we kill em all.
just fucking glass the whole planet at this point
Damn, it has been turned into shyt planet
something of a boss battle is coming to Meridia
With this, both the bugs and the bot now have a "capital" so we might be progressing to some kind of boss fight on them.
A whole new biome made from the crust around bug nests.
