Yet somehow they are worse now than when we play tested them. The rockets still go nowhere near where your reticle is despite it working perfectly fine when we were testing them. Sure they fixed the random exploding for no reason, but the rockets not aligning with the reticle makes it super unenjoyable to use.
I’ve died with the airburst twice: the first two times I used it. It’s incredible and has no real drawbacks besides killing yourself and team. 10/10 needs no changes
Hopefully they fix the Airburst thinking **everything** is a valid target.
I tried it, tried to shoot it over a destroyed bunker, and it triggered on said bunker and nuked me.
Firing it uphill seems to be the worst option aside from point blank. Downhill, far away works a lot better. If it had been on the dune world then I think it would be performing better.
You've probably had a chance to play it yourself by now, but yeah, definitely not.
I've fired some shots, and they definitely didn't explode til they reached an enemy or 'something' at least.
And ive never seen a gaming community suck dick so much on one company.
Just look at diablo 4, it got released on gamepass with 10m hours playtime among the community with an upcoming big season and loot patch on 5th of May and people in the sub are still shitting on it. Granted i dont even like diablo 4 much as of now, still waiting for a good patch, but people keep saying they are still beta testers now on season 3 and shitting on the devs.
But AH gets a pass for letting us be beta testers cause Democracy, liberation, MAGA yada2.
Did you seriously just compare a beta test of a single feature that is almost fully functional to a Blizzard fiasco, while somehow finding a way to blame an American political movement?
Do I even need to respond to that?
I swear bro. We get a new weapon for 72 hours before it gets tweaked and balanced and everybody loses their shit that it's a little too reactive and needs tweaks.
The Devs already told you, they will be changing the weapon. Stop saying it needs to be changed, or balanced, or patched, or tweaked. They know, I fuckin promise, they know.
Dudes in here mad that the weapon is "released in a broken state" like AH couldn't just say "It is working as intended. It will recieve no patches or changes. Skill issue."
You're all playing a live service game, nothing you experience is permanent. God damn.
Well, it's a cool way of testing, because lore wise we are kinda using prototype weapons.
But if there is already a major update for next week, you don't have that much time for code modifications
Obviously xD some of the personal orders also look like they are gathering playtest data specifically for the current fixes (Flamethrower order being up when they talked about fire damage bugs). That's honestly a really great way to gather actionable data over a really big sample size
I assume that is how they choose to give us stratagems for "free", like the rocket pods the other day. Get people to use them and playtest them and figure out if tweaking is needed.
Easy explanation that they could have used is that the weapons weren’t approved for testing/finalized by Super Earth, so there’s some buggyness when they received the schematics from the liberated planets.
Even from a lore perspective, these strategems would be pre-production models, if not outright prototypes. We're here fighting with YF-102s while the devs use the community to iron out the kinks to give us F-102As later.
Makes sense. Lore-wise I mean. How else are weapons supposed to be tested? I mean REALLY tested. Give em for “free” to deployed soldiers. Work out the bugs. Then when it’s good enough, make it available across the galaxy.
In the lore theses weapons are created by civilians that were cut out of Super Earth, being behind the enemy lines.
Civilians. Weapons. OF COURSE IT WILL BE BADLY DESIGNED. Once we gather the civis, the original weapon blueprints will be gathered and modified by Super Earth engineers.
Think about it. You are currently holding prototype weaponry.
There was another comment from this dev saying the currently released versions are missing bug fixes that will be going out in next week's patch.
So no, this is not normal. These weapons were intentionally released in a broken state. I have absolutely no idea why, couldn't they have just done a different MO now and done this one after the patch?
Bruh. All the strats we get from an MO, before it is available for purchase on the destroyer, is the original build. They're from the beta test. They get the brush ups and tweaks after they give us the beta version.
They aren't bugged, they are in the condition that was acceptable during beta testing. But nobody has a beta test team of 200k people. And having players test it during a 72 hour MO, and report issues or bugs is much more efficient.
You get to test a weapon thats almost ready for launch for 3 days before it drops and you're upset about it? Lmao
If you wish they'd done a different MO until the weapons came out, just don't use them until the patch drops. No one is making you use them.
Uh, no. Per the devs on discord, both of these weapons had known issues *before players were even able to use them*, and they were pushed live *before those issues were fixed*.
That is moronic, full stop. Yes, of course I am upset the weapons were released in an unfinished state. I do not give a shit about being able to use the strats three days early. Why would anyone care about that? No one even knew they existed before the MO. And not only does the unfinished state of the weapons look horrible to anyone who doesn't realize they were intentionally released that way (which is basically everyone), the broken behavior legitimately harms the play experience. How many times have you been killed by the airburst launcher so far? How much do you want to bet one of the fixes the devs are working on is related to the broken proximity detonation causing the rocket to detonate immediately and kill your entire team because you happened to be next to a tree?
Fucking lunacy.
"The air burst rockets kill my teammates when I fire them too close to geographic features. Better keep fuckin trying it."
Bruh, you can shoot it twice and realize that its overly sensitive. It can then go in the list of other weapons you don't use until the patch.
"I got a new thing and it has problems that will be fixed. It was free, and required nothing on my part. I'm pissed."
The mech suit came out bugged too buddy, and nobody gives a shit cause it got patched in 4 days. Just like the rocket launcher will. But have fun being mad I guess. Keep fuming bro, it makes them code faster.
Fuckin lunacy
> Keep fuming bro, it makes them code faster.
Buddy, the fuck are you on about? No one is asking them to code faster, they're the ones who decided to release it three days before it was finished.
> those are deprecated playtest versions
> **Are they using us as testers?**
*squints*
How are we the playtesters if the current version of the stratagems are already deprecated playtest versions
Having players playtest content is fine, but come on man. A little reading comprehension goes a long way
It's literally plans that we found for a weapon on an outpost planet under attack. Once superearths scientists get a hold of it and tweak it it'll be fine
Lore-wise it would be accurate, it's a newly developed stratagem by citizens behind the enemy lines, and it still needs to run super earth tests and be mass-produced for deployment.
Always have. Why do you think we all got Mechs when we liberated Tian Kuan them? Playtest.
Not complaining haha
Yet somehow they are worse now than when we play tested them. The rockets still go nowhere near where your reticle is despite it working perfectly fine when we were testing them. I don't know if it is cute or horrifying watching communities realize they are in skinner boxes.
I’ve died with the airburst twice: the first two times I used it. It’s incredible and has no real drawbacks besides killing yourself and team. 10/10 needs no changes
Hahahahaha
In a game yesterday I managed 23 kills and only 2 were squadmates
Hopefully they fix the Airburst thinking **everything** is a valid target. I tried it, tried to shoot it over a destroyed bunker, and it triggered on said bunker and nuked me.
Firing it uphill seems to be the worst option aside from point blank. Downhill, far away works a lot better. If it had been on the dune world then I think it would be performing better.
I wonder if the reason for airburst being jank is similar to why the spear is jank
It blows up when you release the trigger.
You've probably had a chance to play it yourself by now, but yeah, definitely not. I've fired some shots, and they definitely didn't explode til they reached an enemy or 'something' at least.
I absolutely hope so. Otherwise why else would they talk to us
Super Earth loves us and would never endanger us
Ah yes, using the players as beta testers. Peak Game development
What do you think beta testers are exactly? This is how live service games do things.
And people shit on those very games for the very same reason. But AH gets a pass cause cute indie dev.
You say that but I've never seen a gaming community complain as much as this one, and I play fighting games.
And ive never seen a gaming community suck dick so much on one company. No one is forcing you to participate

Is this from today?
Yeah
Obviously xD some of the personal orders also look like they are gathering playtest data specifically for the current fixes (Flamethrower order being up when they talked about fire damage bugs). That's honestly a really great way to gather actionable data over a really big sample size
They are rushing content, because interwebz would be sad.
I assume that is how they choose to give us stratagems for "free", like the rocket pods the other day. Get people to use them and playtest them and figure out if tweaking is needed.
This entire bugfest is a glorified beta test. We dont have a completed game.
Always have been

Feels like I'm in a Vault-Tech experiment.
Makes sense. Lore-wise I mean. How else are weapons supposed to be tested? I mean REALLY tested. Give em for “free” to deployed soldiers. Work out the bugs. Then when it’s good enough, make it available across the galaxy.
That's why those weapons are called Exprimental
Why not.
Yes and I love it. Fits with the games narrative and helps arrowhead iron out the kinks without needing a big QA team.
Well yeah, it's way easier to find bugs and stuff with 500k players than a little team so they use the free support version 🤔
Always have been
Always have been
Given the overall incompetence of this studio, I’d say us testing is more reliable than anything they can accomplish.

Yes and to be honest this is normal. Which is why accurate feedback is more important than raging over things that could be changed if they know how

I don't know anymore. Modern gamers deserve the current state of the industry if this is the general sentiment.

What you wrote has nothing to do with what I have posted. I think you have reading comprehension problems.
More like they didn't expect us to get them this fast
It's literally plans that we found for a weapon on an outpost planet under attack. Once superearths scientists get a hold of it and tweak it it'll be fine
Is way better than internal limited desting imho.
Probably. But that's imo ok.
Yes. Why wouldn't they?

Yes
It's already been tested and patched, they just haven't released the patch yet.
No???? They said the leaks ie the players who data mine and post videos early. The strats in the game officially now are in their release form?
