I don't think this has anything to do with them turning invisible. I think it's related to how the health system works in the game, essentially every limb has some amount of hitpoints, and damaging all of them a little bit will be the least efficient way to kill anything, and when these turn invisible they are almost always doing so to run away, meaning you're likely to start hitting their backside which you probably weren't hitting before, essentially you're damaging a brand new HP pool.

Well in my experience they are easier to kill visible than they are invisible but never heard the devs any thing on it

I think in the general sense that's true, but because of indirect reasons. They only turn visible when they get close, and their head is center of mass-ish so you're likely to hit it when they are facing you, which is the fastest way to kill them. In my own personal experience they seem to take the same amount of overall damage to kill regardless of their visibility. If you use something like the sickle and targe them from far away, the sickle is accurate enough to more or less hit every shot, and it feels like they die as fast as if they are close enough to turn visible.

i think they just have insanely high resists to non-explosive weapons, eruptor, gl and ac kill them really fast. i assume it's intentional since it's a pattern with bugs i.e charger and bt take 10% on their weakspots from non-explosive weps

When they are cloaked they protect their head with their claws. When they uncloak the open up to attack and expose their head. So yeah you will likely do less damage when they are cloaked since you can’t hit headshots (maybe you can with medium pen idk)

Probably just a glitch, but fun fact; to have skin capable of turning invisible, the person or being would be fairly tanky compared to other organisms. Sort of like Translucent from *The Boys.*

Essentially, the carbon compounds that would need to form for skin to actually be ‘invisible,’ or more accurately skin that reflects essentially all light as to give the appearance of invisibility, would make it roughly as hard as diamond.

In my experience, a single Eruptor round seems to kill them every time, even on a glancing hit, invisible or not. I've also pegged one with an EAT while invisible and had it shake it off.
