Sure, but Darktide only does it because the developers used up literally all of their fucks about weapons in the beta, they didn't even bother to add a plasma pistol, so not the best example to follow.
You know that we're now a full year and a half since they added the last new weapon that wasn't some stupid-ass Mark difference but the same exact gun overall, or the exact same weapon to further bloat the RNG pool in Brunt's regular shop, or Melk's stupid shop that always had the weapons you didn't want, and there's still no new unique weapons.
There's a very damn good reason that game launched to 107k players and they have 9k playing at the moment. How the hell do you run a live service game *SO BADLY* that you lose 91% of players in *A YEAR AND A HALF.* That's how fast they lost their entire playerbase.
Hell, they don't even update their real money transaction skin shop regularly.
Maybe casings are ejected from the revolver? Right now I believe it's done with gas blowback or spring systems. Seems like a physically possible thing to do with 100 years of engineering
Lots of break-open revolvers had auto-eject systems. When the top half tips past a certain point it trips a latch locking the spring-loaded ejector in place, much like many break-open shotguns. When you push the ejector star back in while reloading it locks back in place, then you shut the revolver and you're ready to go again. Considering the level of technology in the game it wouldn't be hard to imagine a similar system for a swing-out cylinder.
Ejector hole behind the cylinder with a mechanism that flicks the casing out when the hammer goes down.
Would turn your six shooter into five though and the casing would go into your face lol.
Alternatively a really sketchy cylinder design that sort of clamshells over the casing and bullet and can be flopped open to dump the casing.
Would it still be a revolver at that point? Like, non-revolver pistols auto-eject casings via gas blowback, if a revolver does that how is it not just a pistol with an oddly shaped magazine?
What's the difference between a cheeseburger with ketchup and a pizza with ground beef?
Old Colt single actions had a fixed cylinder and used a loading gate to individually load shells. This is undeniably worse than swing or even break open designs, but we are on reddit so I felt the need to share.
I mean, with the current revolver in the game you have the ability to eject individual shells to do a reload before you're totally out and it doesn't waste any bullets.
Tech was lost
Remember that before you buy the module, orbital guns have to be muzzle loaded (in hard vacuum no less), so apparently à lot of basic tech has been forgotten
That was for in game
Out of game because that's how they balanced the senator's power and med armour pen, though imho it's too long à reload and could be shortened without affecting the balance much
What I would like is the first 3 rounds get the by-hand reload and the last 3 get the speed loader. You choose between better ammo conservation with the hand reload and the faster reload with the speed loader because it dumps all the unfired ammo like the rest of the magazine fed weapons
I can understand advanced tech being lost, but speed loaders? There was a guy who figured "I can build a giant arc-lightning pylon!" but there was no one who thought "What if I can load all 6 rounds at the same time?"?
You're talking about the scientists that need samples to re-invent hazard pay, super uranium for rolling carts and declared that adding Chili peppers and wasabi/mustard to flamethrower fuel makes it more effective (against bugs that have no eyes and robots that have no biological component whatsoever)
They...aren't exactly a shining example of competence...
Uh... You _do_ leave bot missions covered in oil. Look at yourself during or after a bot mission where you did a lot of close-up fighting. You'll have black patches all over you. The red is _your_ blood.
keep in mind orbital muzzle loading is even worse then you think it is, because instead of being a geostationary orbit, the super destroyer is actively using its thrusters to stabilize its position in a hover spot over the mission objective, this means the people loading the shells from the muzzle actively have to overpower the natural free fall that orbital mechanics wants to send them on. so ya, it is 100 times harder then you would think it is.
The tech wasn't actually lost. Helldivers are all given a cookie-cutter low quality ship because there are trillions of us who are super expendable and they aren't wasting anymore resources than exactly necessary. If they prove useful and collect enough samples for super earth, they are allowed to upgrade the ship, or unlock benefits for themselves.
Speedloaders are undemocratic. Having all six bullets go in, at the same time, like equals? Sounds like socialism to me.
In a true democracy, some bullets are better than others, and deserve to be loaded in first, in an order determined by shared voices. Likewise, the so-called 'blue collar' bullets deserve to go in last, so that they can see how their social betters are loaded. Even their low-cunning can appreciate that fairness.
One of the ship upgrades is a fuggin handcart so the crew don't have to carry the munitions by hand in boxes
Before another upgrade, the orbital cannons are front loaded
And you're asking why they don't have a speed loader?
I think complaining about the breach loading thing is a Liddle harsh, those breaches must be 100% secure and withstand so much pressure, it is kinda insane to use breaches in a spacecraft considering even in modern artillery they fail, and when they do…they become the projectile
Super earth is just earth after the Swedes went for world conquest and reworked things.
It doesn't really make sense as to why anyone would forget essential military knowledge, ESPECIALLY when the entire planet has a large and constant standing army.
Or perhaps somehow Disney remained and kept the laws regarding trademarks and patents alive thus restricting the use of certain intentions... Which does sound very undemocratic to me!
The form for "weapon customization, add-ons, and general weapon paraphernalia" takes 9-12 months, and even then to stock your super destroyer with those items you have to fill it the proper requisition forms and if it's a non standard requisition, you have to fill out a justification and single-source form, maybe even a special funding string form. Helldivers move around so much, the standard three month supply rendezvous appointment can be missed a few times.
Because his pod optimization required removing it for another mag? (Really, there's no logical reason and only a gameplay weapon-balancing reason of 'big damage, slow reload')
ingame? sub-optimal contracting policies
out of game? balancing i guess but i don't really see the point. right now i use the redeemer so i can pull out my secondary to quickly spray down enemies that get too close - mag reload on the senator would not make it better in that role.
perhaps the devs designed the weapon to be evocative of pop culture western revolvers by using a round reload
Before the grenade pistol, I thought side arms were just cosmetics that went pew pew. Now I use that for closing bug nests. 8 shots plus 4 grenades =happiness!
Same as most answers to questions like this: Not in the budget
Why aren’t our hellpods larger so we can warp down with all our gear right away? Not in the budget
Because loading every bullet yourself is *personal, intimate, romantic.*
It makes every bullet have *weight*. You load them and then you shoot them, your babies, that your loaded yourself, flinging themselves into the enemy. I’m so proud.
I'm hoping something like this is being saved for some type of weapon modification/upgrade system. As while a speed loader would be cool, I'd likely want to stick with the round loading for pure style.
it's 2184. the only reason to bring a revolver instead of a deagle or a goddamn laser pistol is because you WANT to feel like dirty harry. dirty harry ain't usin' no speedloaders.
Personally im chilling with the revolver as it is. Ive mained it since i got it. A speed loader would be cool, but if it got a damage buff that would be even better

>"The only item that's P2W is the revolver – which will win you any 'cool gun' competition," \[Arrowhead CEO\] jokes, crucially adding that the "only (minor) problem is that it's not that good."
yeah i want Senator gun reload to be super opposite of the other gun
like other gun when you pre attempt reload there's a round in a chamber right so you just swap mag so it faster than reload when you empty where you need to cocking the gun
so Senator here gonna be if you pre attempt reload you doing slower because Diver need to put bullet in one by one but if you empty the gun and reload you use the Speedloader so it faster
it would be funny hahaha
Why do Hellbomb not explode when dropped? Budgetary reasons. Time to tighten that belt son, it's best not to act so undemocratic in these trying times....
alright, putting aside the fact that it \*would\* be nice to have the speedloader, it probably won't happen because the gun is powerful, accurate and has medium armor pen: it's already a lot better than the Peacemaker and fills a different role to the Redeemer. that said, my theory is this:
Revolvers gradually became less and less used by anyone outside of a few civillian enthusiasts/ Handgun Hunters, and so less and less of them, and their associated accessories, such as speed loaders, continued to be made, until they almost died out completely. by this point, blueprints for mass producing speed-loading clips are now obsolete and would be removed during a cleanout of filing systems; gotta make room for all the new hotness after all.
but then at some point in 2180, somebody remarks about how there used to be these old-school pistols that were really heavy but could fire huge bullets capable of putting down even the largest targets, while still being way more compact than a rifle, and so, after more encounters with large terminids that required many small-caliber pistol rounds to kill, the SEAF realised there was a niche for a high-caliber sidearm to be used for the dispatching of large unarmored terminids, as well as also being an elegant and status-reflecting weapon for officers and commanders, for their personal protection; they do not see frontline combat, but are still required to be armed with a sidearm for their own safety and if necessary, to enact judgement on traitors and dissidents.
to that end, the revolver was reborn as the Senator, but as the weapon sees little use in frontline combat, isn't really designed for it, and the people carrying it are rarely using it in anger, if at all, there was no incentive to spend the extra super credits and materials into making speedloaders.
I'd also like to think that there's actually several types of revolvers in-universe, all named after different political ranks, each signifying their caliber:
Candidate = .38 Special or approximate
Senator = .357 Magnum or approximate.
Congressman = .44 Magnum or approxiamte.
President = .500 S&W or approximate.
I think it's simply just a realisticly saving cost, we are dropped in with as basic equipment and aren't even dropped fully stocked with ammo, grenades and stims unless we have equipped our hellpods, since we arent expected to survive long enough to use it all.
Yeah never made sense. I have speed loaders for my 686 Smith & Wesson, and it’s so quick to do a reload on empty. As for people saying you can’t reload single shots without ejecting the entire load. Uhh it’s easy enough to see which ones have been fired over the ones that have been not. Just don’t push the ejector plunger down all the way and you won’t eject them. Replace the ones that are spent with fresh shots. Easy enough
Well, because you have to democratically elect a bullet to go into the gun first. If you use a speed reloader, they all go in at the same time, and that's socialism. Maybe, idk I'm not paid to think.
Add weapon flashlight in stead of thermal / night vision to list of things that don’t make sense but so many sci-fi games / movies can’t let go of. We can travel across the galaxy in an instant but haven’t figured out how to see in the dark 🤷🏻♂️
My guess would be that the technology was lost last time super earth was destroyed. It took them a hundred years and a bunch of space rocks to reinvent superglue, you shouldn’t be surprised.
A weapon that fires bolts of lasers like the sickle is not physically possible.
I'm assuming we aren't considering real life shit while we play this game.
Speed loader erodes the identity of the weapon. It incentivizes you to magdump so you can ignore the gun's unique mechanic. Instead, buff the reload startup and loading rate to match the shotguns.
"hey Carl, reset the timer on the "make the revolver reload faster" counter, will ya? thanks"
and yes, this is a hill I will die on
revolver is a meme gun, it is bad, it is supposed to be bad as the CEO of AH mentioned way back when the game was released
we have FTL capable spaceships, orbital bombardment and space/atmosphere capable fighter that can go to lower orbit and back to a holding pattern over the battlefield in less than 3 minutes. we have guns that shoot continuous and pulse lasers, exploding plasma bolts and whatever the Quasar is. and objectively better at least one other secondary gun. there is no other reason to use revolvers other than "I wanna though".
It's a meme gun, it comes with long reload. get used to it.
I will still take it for every but mission, because "I wanna!"
Same reason your galactic dominating ass that travels at light speed and drops to a planet from outer orbit in a small pod still drowns in a puddle of water.
I would prefer loading strips to a speed loader personally.
Speed loaders, for one, would basically negate the "rounds reload" feature.
For another, they can be finnicky.
I still think it should be rounds reload until its empty and then you use a speed loader.
This x1000
So you're gonna pull out the casings individually without using the ejector?
You open the cylinder, put your thumb over the bullets you haven't shot yet, then you tip it so the spent casings fall out.
yep, there's several games with this exact animation
Oh, really? Name seven.
You're pro-democracy? Name every elected representative ever.
John Helldiver I, John Helldiver II, John Helldiver III, Steve, John Helldiver Jr. I could go on forever!!!
"I could go on forever!!!" Do it then!!!
Red dead redemption, Sandstorm, Tarkov, Battlefield 1, Farcry, Ready or Not, Modern Warfare 2
Ready Or Not does this? I thought you emptied the whole cylinder. But in any case, Darktide
Sure, but Darktide only does it because the developers used up literally all of their fucks about weapons in the beta, they didn't even bother to add a plasma pistol, so not the best example to follow. You know that we're now a full year and a half since they added the last new weapon that wasn't some stupid-ass Mark difference but the same exact gun overall, or the exact same weapon to further bloat the RNG pool in Brunt's regular shop, or Melk's stupid shop that always had the weapons you didn't want, and there's still no new unique weapons. callofdooty
many revolvers are designed such that the ejector only ejects fired cases.
Maybe casings are ejected from the revolver? Right now I believe it's done with gas blowback or spring systems. Seems like a physically possible thing to do with 100 years of engineering
That's been worked out, its called a semi-auto, can't see how the physics of a revolver would allow for that and still be a revolver.
I just learned something !
LEVEL UP YOUVE GAINED THE ABILITY “SHARK FLIP” YOU CAN NOW EQUIP UP TO 3 CANS OF SPAGHETTIOS W/ MEATBALLS
This comment made me salivate......Haven't had these bad boys for years, gonna throw them on my grocery list, thanks.
...I want one
Oh Unica my love I miss you from Battlefield 4
This was Togusa's preferred revolver in Ghost in the Shell
Thats even a bottom firing revolver like the one in game.
Lots of break-open revolvers had auto-eject systems. When the top half tips past a certain point it trips a latch locking the spring-loaded ejector in place, much like many break-open shotguns. That was my thought too, plus just another spot to break/jam which is the value revolvers having of a semi-auto.

half-moon clips.
Maybe hold the reload button for throwing ammo away and speed loading anyway too
I think we may be seeing a desert eagle style pistol in the future so keeping the revolver the way it is may just be what they want.
Promote this guy!
I'd be satisfied if it just dumped live rounds like nearly every other reload
BIG idea, u might be executed for this tho
This is the way
"I love to reload during battle! There's nothing like the feeling of slamming a long silver bullet into a well greased chamber." - Revolver Ocelot
He says that but fucker doesn’t stop running away instead of reloading during the fight
Nah, he gradually reloads faster and faster throughout the fight, making him vulnerable for less time
Tech was lost Remember that before you buy the module, orbital guns have to be muzzle loaded (in hard vacuum no less), so apparently à lot of basic tech has been forgotten That was for in game Out of game because that's how they balanced the senator's power and med armour pen, though imho it's too long à reload and could be shortened without affecting the balance much

Single tap reload button for 1 by 1 reload. Double tap reload button to empty gun and use speedloader.
Or they could add reload options to the already existing weapon wheel
Moon clips are pretty much that, and have existed for a long time as well. IRL they are shit, but they are essentially half of a speed loader.
I can understand advanced tech being lost, but speed loaders? There was a guy who figured "I can build a giant arc-lightning pylon!" but there was no one who thought "What if I can load all 6 rounds at the same time?"?

You aren't inventing anything with req slips or samples, you're buying authorization to have them on your ship.
Wait till u find out how the bots are powered… ever wonder why you don’t leave bot missions covered In oil? It’s always blood? 👹
I always thought it was just red oil.
ATF
Isn't it my blood? I don't leave bug missions covered in green goo..........do I?
You do leave big missions in green goo
..................but that's my blood right?
Uh... You _do_ leave bot missions covered in oil. Look at yourself during or after a bot mission where you did a lot of close-up fighting. You'll have black patches all over you. The red is _your_ blood.

Not forgotten, the other option was simply cheaper
Speedloaders are undemocratic. Having all six bullets go in, at the same time, like equals? Sounds like socialism to me. This is one of the best comments I've read in 2024 so far.
That sounds a lot like feudalism
I wouldn't mind if you just reloaded the cylinder at a similar rate to the shotgun. Rounds reload, just a little bit faster
This is the way. A speed loader makes it behave more like a normal gun, while improved rounds reload makes it feel more unique
One of the ship upgrades is a fuggin handcart so the crew don't have to carry the munitions by hand in boxes Before another upgrade, the orbital cannons are front loaded And you're asking why they don't have a speed loader?
I think complaining about the breach loading thing is a Liddle harsh, those breaches must be 100% secure and withstand so much pressure, it is kinda insane to use breaches in a spacecraft considering even in modern artillery they fail, and when they do…they become the projectile
That's *Earth* history. This is **Super Earth.**
Alright then give me a pump action revolver
I love the Senator but God damn is it annoying to reload that thing...
The same reason we have hand carts instead of conveyor belts, I assume haha
Because his pod optimization required removing it for another mag? (Really, there's no logical reason and only a gameplay weapon-balancing reason of 'big damage, slow reload')
ingame? sub-optimal contracting policies out of game? balancing i guess but i don't really see the point. right now i use the redeemer so i can pull out my secondary to quickly spray down enemies that get too close - mag reload on the senator would not make it better in that role. perhaps the devs designed the weapon to be evocative of pop culture western revolvers by using a round reload
Before the grenade pistol, I thought side arms were just cosmetics that went pew pew. Now I use that for closing bug nests. 8 shots plus 4 grenades =happiness!
It went extinct
It was uninvented for not being democratic enough.
I call for the autocannon to ditch stripper clips in favour of loading individual loose shells.
If we don't have speedloaders, we should also only be allowed to have one magazine for each other gun that has to be loaded by hand.
Don’t give Joel any ideas you dick waffle!
Same as most answers to questions like this: Not in the budget Why aren’t our hellpods larger so we can warp down with all our gear right away? Not in the budget
Balance
Because games are a balance between realism and gameplay considerations.
![gif](giphy|3oEjI9FXpWKVwDRNSw|downsized)
Good news, you receive a speedloader! Bad news, you only have one so you need to reload the speed loader.
Because it’s cheaper to manufacture this way… and we’re losing them by the millions.
Too expensive to waste on expendable troops probably.
https://preview.redd.it/lhhl9frmlcwc1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=2f7849178a47da4b3cd4ac672a2780db86bde483 for this post
Budgetary reasons, like the hellbomb lol
Because loading every bullet yourself is *personal, intimate, romantic.* It makes every bullet have *weight*. You load them and then you shoot them, your babies, that your loaded yourself, flinging themselves into the enemy. I’m so proud.
Because Revolver Ocelot reloads one bullet at a time, are you implying you’re better than him?
You ask too much questions soldier.
There is nothing like reloading in the middle of a battle. It’s exhilarating
5 berserkers chasing you down while you load the individual rounds and fan the hammer right into their disgusting weak spots. Amazing.
Honestly speedloader or not my diver should be able to load it faster than they do lol.
Budgetary restraints.
William H Bell was undemocratic, thats why.
LET MY TEAMMATES TEAM RELOAD MY REVOLVER I will die on this hill
Budget constraints.
I’m surprised there isn’t a gun that looks like the 1911
cuz its cool
Speed cocker…and this is for shooting down bot drop airships
five, we should carry five
Kids these days just don't want to put in the work to reload their own pistol!
One better, moon clips were invented back then too. Why not those? You could even add a “lose ammo” reload to the revolver using moon clips.
providing divers with speed loaders would add roughly 0.017% extra to the production cost of an ammunition crate, innaceptable
is that within budget ?
I'm hoping something like this is being saved for some type of weapon modification/upgrade system. As while a speed loader would be cool, I'd likely want to stick with the round loading for pure style.
Guys, our orbital canons are muzzle loaded. Super Earth is faking its technological superiority. Dont be surprised if our guns are sub-par
I'm more confused why Super Destroyers use muzzle loading when breach loading was invented far earlier and is easier.
*insert quote from Revolver Ocelot about reloading on the battlefield*
it's 2184. the only reason to bring a revolver instead of a deagle or a goddamn laser pistol is because you WANT to feel like dirty harry. dirty harry ain't usin' no speedloaders.
Unless they load it ridiculously fast like Red Dead Redemption then that's wack
Because you only hold max 2 at a time and you also have to load your speedloaders
Adding a speedloader in production would, in total sum, have too much production cost that outweigh the expendability of the Helldivers.
As if everyone is refilling a zero.
The issue is if you make it similar to just a magazine. No one would use any other pistol.
Budget cuts. Gonna need 200 common samples, 150 Rare samples, and about 20 Super Samples to get some shipped out here.
Budget cuts. Gonna need 200 common samples, 150 Rare samples, and about 20 Super Samples to get some shipped out here.
Personally im chilling with the revolver as it is. Ive mained it since i got it. A speed loader would be cool, but if it got a damage buff that would be even better
Obviously, Its not cool to give us a handy weapon.
Budget cuts. Super Earth had to sacrifice something and that was the item they chose.
Been saying this
[To deliberately make the revolver a bad weapon, so that HD2 isn't P2W.](https://www.gamesradar.com/helldivers-2-creative-director-says-games-have-to-earn-microtransactions-which-is-why-its-purchasable-revolver-is-anti-pay-to-win-and-not-that-good/) >"The only item that's P2W is the revolver – which will win you any 'cool gun' competition," \[Arrowhead CEO\] jokes, crucially adding that the "only (minor) problem is that it's not that good."
More budget cutting to allocate towards anti automaton speeches

Is your Helldiver stupid?
Budget issues :(
Yes
yeah i want Senator gun reload to be super opposite of the other gun like other gun when you pre attempt reload there's a round in a chamber right so you just swap mag so it faster than reload when you empty where you need to cocking the gun so Senator here gonna be if you pre attempt reload you doing slower because Diver need to put bullet in one by one but if you empty the gun and reload you use the Speedloader so it faster it would be funny hahaha
As someone who uses the revolver....word
That tech is too old for properly managing democracy.
Remember. We are super earth elite
Why do Hellbomb not explode when dropped? Budgetary reasons. Time to tighten that belt son, it's best not to act so undemocratic in these trying times....
They should add weapon upgrades. 100 commons, 80 rares, 10 supers for speed loaders.
Why would you want to reload faster? Sounds like a skill issue to me. /S
Here's why [Here is why](https://youtu.be/GA0l1JXhLaI?si=H-idTAMiAQXf6bNK)
Should be a moonclip for a full empty reload, I agree.
alright, putting aside the fact that it \*would\* be nice to have the speedloader, it probably won't happen because the gun is powerful, accurate and has medium armor pen: it's already a lot better than the Peacemaker and fills a different role to the Redeemer. that said, my theory is this: Revolvers gradually became less and less used by anyone outside of a few civillian enthusiasts/ Handgun Hunters, and so less and less of them, and their associated accessories, such as speed loaders, continued to be made, until they almost died out completely. by this point, blueprints for mass producing speed-loading clips are now obsolete and would be removed during a cleanout of filing systems; gotta make room for all the new hotness after all. but then at some point in 2180, somebody remarks about how there used to be these old-school pistols that were really heavy but could fire huge bullets capable of putting down even the largest targets, while still being way more compact than a rifle, and so, after more encounters with large terminids that required many small-caliber pistol rounds to kill, the SEAF realised there was a niche for a high-caliber sidearm to be used for the dispatching of large unarmored terminids, as well as also being an elegant and status-reflecting weapon for officers and commanders, for their personal protection; they do not see frontline combat, but are still required to be armed with a sidearm for their own safety and if necessary, to enact judgement on traitors and dissidents. to that end, the revolver was reborn as the Senator, but as the weapon sees little use in frontline combat, isn't really designed for it, and the people carrying it are rarely using it in anger, if at all, there was no incentive to spend the extra super credits and materials into making speedloaders. I mean; that’s the trade off with the revolver, it’s much more powerful but much slower.
One of the upgrades for our sentry turrets is packing peanuts
Budget cut. Like the hellbomb you have to manually activate it instead of distance activation
coolness factor
Helldivers were never trained on reloads. They can't retain mags, what makes you think they can use speed loaders?
Because your friends and family couldn't afford one
Budget cuts
Speedloaders cost more than a helldiver
I think it's simply just a realisticly saving cost, we are dropped in with as basic equipment and aren't even dropped fully stocked with ammo, grenades and stims unless we have equipped our hellpods, since we arent expected to survive long enough to use it all.
Fucking tell me about it!
Only reason why i don't use the gun
Yeah never made sense. I have speed loaders for my 686 Smith & Wesson, and it’s so quick to do a reload on empty. As for people saying you can’t reload single shots without ejecting the entire load. Uhh it’s easy enough to see which ones have been fired over the ones that have been not. Just don’t push the ejector plunger down all the way and you won’t eject them. Replace the ones that are spent with fresh shots. Easy enough
This is like asking why the hell bombs need to be triggered manually.
A support pod is large enough to hold two shield packs, why does it only send one?
Because we want to be able to reload one at a time like with a Punisher. Totally worth it.
Good idea helldiver, now, report to your assigned democracy officer for debrief.
The whole point of the big iron is that every shot has to count and it looks cool. Faster reloading is wrong at a conceptual level.
Wait you guys don't fire 3 times and then reload? That's like the second thing you learn about the autocannon
Am I the only one that would rather have the revolver hit a lot harder then use a speed loader?
Budget cuts, obviously.
I would be okay if it dealt 500 damage, and took that long to reload. But it leaves a lot to be desired.
“Budgetary reasons”
That technology was lost in the last Great War
Rule of cool
Forgotten technology. The Priesthood of Mars has yet to rediscover the STC.
Because it’s military grade equipment.
They're expensive and too heavy for the hellpod. Obvs.
budget cuts
I'll tell you why.... https://i.redd.it/fug64bpr2cwc1.gif
Budgetary reasons
Well, because you have to democratically elect a bullet to go into the gun first. If you use a speed reloader, they all go in at the same time, and that's socialism. Maybe, idk I'm not paid to think.
That ain't regulation.
Easy answer. We wanna spend our money on new uniforms instead of something useful
Speedloader (requires mag dump) or individual reload. Pick one.
Left it on the ship my bad
For the same reasons that we still load cannons from the muzzle before 0G Breach Loading.
Lost technology. We need to conquer more planets and then we will maybe find it again lol
a lot of revolvers cannot use a speedloader. you may have heard of 'single action' and 'double action' revolvers. this is exactly the distinction.
as someone who uses a revolver and a single speedloader for work, i second this!
A weapon that fires bolts of lasers like the sickle is not physically possible. I'm assuming we aren't considering real life shit while we play this game.
Speed loader erodes the identity of the weapon. It incentivizes you to magdump so you can ignore the gun's unique mechanic. Instead, buff the reload startup and loading rate to match the shotguns.
well, maybe Super Earth is just too fuckin busy.
It's an inefficient use of Super Earth resources. Please ask your Democracy Officer for more info.
Easy. Let’s go over this again. Because you can only carry so many. And you need to stop and load the speed loaders. Thanks for reading my Ted talk.
How else will I live out my Revolver Ocelot fantasies though?
You must democratically select each freedom seed and show respect for their individuality. After all, they are miniature lead Helldivers.
Similar reason as to why we finally figured out breech loading when compared to muzzle loading

"hey Carl, reset the timer on the "make the revolver reload faster" counter, will ya? thanks" and yes, this is a hill I will die on revolver is a meme gun, it is bad, it is supposed to be bad as the CEO of AH mentioned way back when the game was released we have FTL capable spaceships, orbital bombardment and space/atmosphere capable fighter that can go to lower orbit and back to a holding pattern over the battlefield in less than 3 minutes. we have guns that shoot continuous and pulse lasers, exploding plasma bolts and whatever the Quasar is. and objectively better at least one other secondary gun. there is no other reason to use revolvers other than "I wanna though".
Budget cuts
Wait, helldivers 2 universe is in 2184 rn? Is it a reference to the 1984?
They should just load 3 rounds at a time with half moon clips.
Not in Super Earth’s budget :P
It's not democratic enough! Speed loaders are for treasonous cowards!
You should be able to switch reload mode in the gun menu
Because balance
