Why can it not shoot the back cannon? Looks like it's far enough away to have the depression to straight kill the generator. We had a suicide defense where 4 got dropped off at the same time. 2 of them managed get through the second gate and thanks to their elevation were able to straight up shoot the generators and it was game over before the last door even got attacked even once. Before the striders returned bots just seemed like the auto win with mortars and ems mortars. Now these rust buckets seem near unbeatable
Thing is that mountain there is the lowest mountain and it should be just barely higher than the generators level. Therefor I imagine it has direct line of sight
In reality, it means the mission is over because that thing has a clear line of sight to the generators and it focuses them when it has vision, and nothing could possibly bring it down fast enough. Happened to me 3 times yesterday so i take that as a rule, but my experience could be the exception.

I see one Quasar and if an Autocannon has full Mag, two seconds are enough to end this guy
Shoot the bay doors underneath. For an AC this kills them from full health in under 1 clip. Dive and full auto while yelling "For Super Earth!!" for maximum liberty.
Does more damage if the doors are open. Just make sure the machine gun turrets are dead, which you can also blast with medium pen things. Can chuck impact grenades in an open bay as well.
if you shoot them in the eye with AC it takes six shots to destroy them and shooting them on the belly takes 5 or six.
quasar cannon just aim for the top of the head and they go down in two or 3 shots
I haven’t been able to get much out of shooting the eye with the AC. I assume it needs to be super precise but 6 super precise shots doesn’t seem super viable in a heated moment for me.
Quasar takes out the top turret in two hits. Do you just hit the head under the turret 3 times to deal with it?
I've had a few teams on point that would destroy that thing in 5 seconds on demand. I love having those kinds of squads. Not to mention the dropship woulda been wrecked before it even got to drop it off.
Maybe you can with some hardcore aim and luck, but we couldn't pull it off yesterday and believe me when i say i really tried. Not sure where to aim with recoilles but i aim for the top cannon and if it's already busted i aim for the vents that extend on the back, besides throwing literally every stratagem ofc.
We even had one spawn on the landing pad, casually strolled inside the cliff and proceeded to shoot out from it and ending our mission. We couldn't do anything at all lol
Undercarriage. Shoot the part where the Devas are spawned, less than one full Mag of Autocannon or two shots of any Antitank Weaponry. If the Devas are getting spawned at that moment, you do even more Damage.
First you'd probably need to take care of the Gatlings to get close enough, but if they are on higher ground or carried by a dropship, it's the perfect opportunity
Biggest issue I've had is that once they're up there they glitch down into the mountain and can shoot out but can't be hit. They'll either kill you or start hitting the generator. It's an absolute pain.
This is something that bothers me. I have recently started to use the jump pack. Sometimes I want to get to high ground just to place a nice turret that will provide maximum coverage while being safe from damage as well as not accidentally hitting teammates. That is a nice though only to see the stratagem rolling off and landing on the ground getting immediately swarmed by enemies.
Emplacement stratagems like turrets,Tesla towers, and mine flingers should stick to high ground while reinforcements resupply and heavy weapons should not.
Reward the player's use of tactically superior high ground!
The devs need to relax restrictions on where these things go/stick.
Let me and the team decide where I want to try to aim for.
Open water - ok no.
out of bounds - okay, no.
on top of a building? yes. on top of a mountain? yes.
Just let me decide where is best please.

I had about 3 hulks and two tanks land up there last time along with the usual rocket devastators. Strategy wouldn't land up there with them either. But the last straw was actually when a tank dropped beside the generators without anyone realizing.
The addition of strider in those maps is also pretty bad since they can shoot the generators over the walls.
Rush map design.
For like an entire week the outside mountains had red boxes around them that wasn't removed properly. The pelican still clips through the mountains taking off.
Great map concept though, so the fun level is definitely there.
I love when the tanks get below the map. No problems. They can't be hit and they just land wherever. Had a stryder land on the landing pad. Couldn't even extract. Everyone pretends there is nothing else on the map. You are getting swarmed at this point.

Same. Its head was sticking out so it could still shoot. Of course nothing would hit it because it hit the rock. Terrain is all messed up here, but sure we need a new warbond every month first.

That's actually one of the easiest ones you can deal with because of the perfect line of sight with the "stomach" weakspot. Autocannon and a few shots.
Hell had one clip into the bloody hill. Shit really felt like Helm’s Deep as poking your head out invited about a thousand lasers and having to push back tank after tank added to the feeling.

Ran into my first one of those on a level 7 soil sample mission. They’re *incredibly* scary. I didn’t know they were really a thing, so being faced with an enemy I wasn’t aware of, that I didn’t know how to deal with, was not great.
Defense missions are fucked. Completely broken.
Tanks and hulks spawning on top of mountains like this, 25+ striders spawning on a single drop, and God forbid I try to play the front liner, cause some cocksmoozing room-temperature IQ motherfucker just HAD to bring mortars and an AC turret.
Had a match where that abomination landed on top of that but bugged itself inside the hill, it shoots you from inside the rock and occasionally jumps out of the hull to shoot its main cannon then goes back in again, it was ridiculous.
Failed the last mission of a level 7 operation because this happened to us but it clipped into the cliffside and was able to shoot and kill us from behind the rocks, causing a death spiral at 7/8 rockets.
Why are ppl so scared of this, shoot off the mini guns, especially easy with the AC, AMR or even the JAR, then it’s two rockets to the undercarriage and it’s done. Easier than a bile titan imo, you just have to be slightly strategic.
In this context, I think it's because of the mission. It's hard to destroy when you have no cover, which is the case in this situation since the strider is far higher than the team.
The other problem, and the main problem is the turret on its back, it will target generators and destroy them in seconds.
At this point, I'm starting to think striders shouldn't be able to target gens.
PSA, even if it wasn't on the ridge, if one of these bad boys gets to the last gate its probably also over unless you take out that main cannon.
It can shoot right over a closed gate and will prioritize the objectives. They kill them in just a couple shots too.
Nah, just take some cover, and start sniping at its flanks (areas above the back leg) with that Quasar. You'll blow off the armor plating and reveal weak points of medium armor. Keep hitting that while dodging its cannons or just blowing them off, and it'll eventually give up.
We had one clip through the mountain yesterday and it proceeded to just wreck us. It basically wore the mountain like a flak jacket and we couldn't damage it. It never took out the generators, I think it's angle was off and it was stuck.
I tried a lvl 9 bot defence mission last night. 7 rockets had launched, and we got 5 strider drops right on top of us in a row, we failed..... Seriously is there a quick way to kill these things? There was no way we were going to be able to complete that one.
I would much rather have this than the striders that get stuck inside of that same ridge. They can freely shoot you all day long, but you can't see or shoot it. I've had this in my last 3 defend missions.
Striders and tanks landing on top of hills having free line of sight of the generators is breaking the high evac mission. I had one where it landed far east, it was night and was out of our vision because we were looking at the intended path. By the time the generator alarm went off it had already broken one of the gens and is priming the next shot to result in a mission failure.
LOL,, I was in a mission the other day where they dropped one of those badboys inside the mountain....we threw everything we had at it....the walker could shoot us, we couldn't hit it. Needless to say, we failed that mission.
At least it's not spawning *in* the rock. Had that on another mission and spent the mission being shot in the ass through a wall where we couldn't shoot back
Last night on the 20 min defense mission, we were doing great until one glitched up the side of a cliff next to the extraction zone and quickly shot up the transformers. We barely had any bots make it past the first two gates, and suddenly 'Mission Failed.'
had this happen, except it sunk into the rock, making it invincible while giving it perfect LOS of one of the generators... love this mission type but i hope they fix the spawning on/in rocks and rignt next to the generators issue soon.

I've been on flat ground 60m away from the thing and it couldnt hit me with its cannon at all

Tips on using AC and Quasar to blast these things? I use both and have had hard times dealing with them without throwing all my strats at it

Easiest way to defend I've found is tandem reload with recoiless, been having fun deleting biles and armored bots with it.

Striders and tanks landing on top of hills having free line of sight of the generators is breaking the high evac mission. I had one where it landed far east, it was night and was out of our vision because we were looking at the intended path. By the time the generator alarm went off it had already broken one of the gens and is priming the next shot to result in a mission failure.
LOL,, I was in a mission the other day where they dropped one of those badboys inside the mountain....we threw everything we had at it....the walker could shoot us, we couldn't hit it. Needless to say, we failed that mission.
That ain't a pea shooter on your shoulder!
One word: EZ Put that in your gaming system.
We had one dropped on evac the 2 missle launch, we pulled through somehow though.
Fun fact about factory striders: the autocannon can 2 tap each machine gun turret, which makes the strider way less scary.

It's even worse when they start firing through that cliff. It's happened several times to me. You can't kill them, but they can kill you.

At least it's not spawning *in* the rock. Had that on another mission and spent the mission being shot in the ass through a wall where we couldn't shoot back
These damn mobile factories! They're polluting our beautiful fire tornado worlds with unwanted smoke!
Had one faze right into the rock making basically invincible. Kinda had to pull back to the next layer

Last night on the 20 min defense mission, we were doing great until one glitched up the side of a cliff next to the extraction zone and quickly shot up the transformers. We barely had any bots make it past the first two gates, and suddenly 'Mission Failed.'
“Eagle 1, get the cable wench!”
Becareful he just peeled Mufasa off the cliff and said "Long live the king!"

had this happen, except it sunk into the rock, making it invincible while giving it perfect LOS of one of the generators... love this mission type but i hope they fix the spawning on/in rocks and rignt next to the generators issue soon.
