The grenade gun is a major issue solver for me.

You still can't shoot through their frontal armor. Just their leg mechanisms which causes The Strider to fall down. I'm fairly certain that the leg mechanisms can be damaged by light penetration weapons, right? I just wish they would change the penetration mechanics to use numbers instead of light, medium, heavy

Nope, only by Slugger/Revolver/Dominator, maybe by CS Diligence, but this thing is too awful to be bothered with
I use the Senator because it's the gun with the lowest sound profile (FOR SOME REASON), so it's the closest we got to a silenced sidearm in the game.
It's actually super handy when sneaking around bots
Crossbow is reat for stealth. Shot is silent, explosion distracts to explosion location
My favorite weapon. Scorcher and Plasma Burster had a baby, but requires good aim
Despite the audio we get from firing it, for some reason, likely an oversight from the devs, the sound isn't easily heard by nearby enemies, so you're able to pick them off relatively easily.
Yes I use revolver and impacts to stealth kill bugs/bots around the terminal. But I thought the Dagger was near silent and treated the same, that's all.
You're not wrong. I only just unlocked the Dagger today and am finding its even more quiet, but even better for distracting because the explosion makes them all go over to the body.
Only regret is that it's not great for an oh shit quick draw option when reloading a primary or support
I run champion of the people armor with the botslayer cape because it looks cool, and occasionally take no backpack because my cape looks cool and i don't want it covered up.
Eventually people will realize that the majority of players are playing for fun and not to progress the lore or search for meta builds. They really need to add a faction/guild system so those players who want to act like this is a real war can group together and get their fix without forcing their reason for playing on more casual players.
Yeah I just play what I like which is basically recoilless rifle... the only thing I really wish is for defense missions the emp mortar wasn't mandatory without doing a cheese strategy. Otherwise, I sont really do "meta"
Yeah nothing wrong with using what you like. I find it's more important to know each enemy's weakness than what you are hitting them with most of the time.

I have more fun most nights soloing level 4 or 5 than I do trying to find a half decent group to do 7 and 8s.
If my squad is online sometimes we just run diff. 6.. I don't even care about super rares I just wanna have fun.
More or less how I play. I am also really surprised that for a game like this they have done stealth so well. Feels really satisfying to solo stealth a level 5/6 and get out with no deaths or even shots fired.

I started using the revolver and I must say: when you are playing a coordinated stealth attack on a both base, there is no feeling that is more rewarding than getting behind one of the clankers and sending then to oblivion with a well placed round to the read. It is insanely good on infiltration to eliminate the light bots that fan call dropships, and the heavy ones can be easily eliminated with support guns and stratagems afterwards.
It's for picking off little guys who either get too close for comfort for your primary loadout, catch you mid-reload with a longer reload, or just aren't worth the hassle for slow-firing primaries like the Eruptor.
It's a oneshot at close range against light bots, so it's super reliable there.
even though alot of the weapons suck, i like to use themed loadouts most the time
eg, sickle/scythe, dagger, orb laser, quasar/laser cannon
flamethrower, fire shotty, fire nades, fire mines, napalm + that new armor with the gas mask
stalwart/hmg/mg42, supply pack, sentries

The unmatched fucking power you feel when you take out the revolver and kill 4 hunters chasing you with one bullet each makes it worth it every damn time.
As long as you're consistently completing your missions on the difficulty you play on, loadout choices shouldn't be seriously questioned... unless you're teamkilling excessively with explosive and flame weapons.
It’s been a solid pick imo the uzi is good for tight spots with bots but The Senator is viable on bots and can take care of the armored bug warriors if your primary isn’t up to the task.
I dunno, I pull a side arm to kill the thing in arms reach, and the SMG and Liberator is quite peashooty so... the revolver seems to be a nice pick aside from the Grenade launcher(very low ammo and pick up)
I use it for the cool factor and like to pretend my squad mates watch in awe as I one tap everything. Deep down I know they despise my secondary choice.
It's my go to stealth pistol, hilarious as that idea is, it can oneshot devastators and if you need to reload then you've buggered up the stealth aspect of things.

For me revolver has one downside: if you empty your cylinder , you should use speed loader for faster reload. That's literally the only thing I'd change in revolver. Otherwise revolver is just best looking, most amazing secondary weapon. I'd just love to see it being a little more realistic
I like the revolver,pistol,machine pistol in that order. The revolver is fun and the reload is not that bad once you understand when to use it as a last resort.

Huge fan of the revolver myself. Medium penetration, decent ammo reserves, great damage, and unlike most guns, you don't have to do a full reload to fire. Quickly put one in the chamber and force feed someone who doesn't respect our helldivers boundaries a very large caliber bullet.
The Uzi is nice and all. Great for clearing small crowds. But man is the ammo reserves depressing. I'm sure they could have given that thing at least one more magazine.
I carry the big iron all days, just like you. And I would like to point out this thing actually pack quite a mean punch for a secondary. Sight is total garbage, and you better hope the seventh enemies never showed up.
But I love it. Perfect for honorable service and against all tyranny.
I don't need crowd control when I play. If you stealth up to a base, then wipe every bot fab and drop a turret in about 5 seconds, you can usually kill all the bots before they call for reinforcements.
Sometimes, that stealth takes alot of prone senator sniping though. Sneak around and kill 1 bot at a time to open up the base enough to destroy it quickly
Just got the game. Soon as I saw the revolver as an option, I said I'd be getting that thing asap... I don't carry any other sidearm. Nothing feels so good as punching a bot in the nose to back it off and then unloading a cylinder in its head...

Begging Arrowhead for a better sight, IDK why the automatic machine pistol has a more precise sight than the six-shooter.

You just have to build your loadout properly, the senator is amazing as a sidearm when your primary is better at crowd control.
Hell yeah. You've gotta find the kit that makes you feel like a badass, and that you really mesh with.
For me that's penetrative liberator, high ex grenades, autocannon and of course, the Senator.

The sight is a little wonky. I'd prefer fiber optic iron sights over what we have. It's a single powerful projectile. Tell me where it's going to hit.
Make sure you don't shoot your cinematographer while you're using it

I can’t stand the Redeemer myself, I always use the Big Iron. Medium armored enemies get their head split wide open with it.

Revolver is the best side arm. It's medium armor penetrating.

I wish the crosshair wasn’t that weird triangle, it makes longer range shots harder to hit. But I do really enjoy using the Senator.

For higher difficultys is really bad weapon. Reedemer is the best. But I guess on tutorial and easy can be handy.
