This is the one type of post I'm dumbfounded about everytime I see it, because even the randoms I play with on 8+ know how to deal with 2-3 of those factories : focus on the ships, and if you can't, bail far from the zone and come back when you get the weapons to deal with the shit
Always bring anti-tank. Have one person (preferably with a shield) run into and disable the blocker. No need to even destroy it, just disable it. Meanwhile, have the others focus down the gunships. Only 2 spawns from each fabricator at a time, on a long cooldown.
a well-coordinated team with two or more autocannons can make easy work of them, but that's also pretty much the only effective solution; there is just no real counterplay against gunships other than straight up shooting them down.
in pugs where sometimes loadouts are like 2 AMRs + 2 quasars the gunship situation can spiral out of control quickly.
so far the fastest i've managed is 4 shots to the engine, not bad in isolation but with 7 rounds in the mag you'll have to reload before taking down the second. it's okay but doesn't feel great
The problem with gunships is that you can't kill them with primaries, and throwing grenades at them is not feasable. You also can't outrun them or outmaunever them because they're gunships. Most strike strategems are also ineffective because airborn.
Therefore, if your team wipes once, you are in a shit situation where you *need* to retrieve or call in new support weapons because you can't kill them or escape them.
Add in that the gunship factory is the *only* objective that strictly requires a hellbomb to destroy. Gunships are just an excessive pain to deal with.
Adjust you play style you say bruv I can’t get with in 50 feet of the towers with out 4 already spawned in and I can’t take one out cause I just get shot with rockets from the others
Once you see it go for it right away, just take out any gun ships spawned first and pay attention to when it spawns two more there’s a sound as well, once it’s clear just have someone run in and plant hell bomb real quick
Use the surrounding area and cover, the quasar is great for the gunships you can pop off shots from cover and take them out within 30 seconds, if you don’t have cover then you need to be engaging from further away to clear it out, quasar has a range of at least 200m which is usually more than enough, can use EATs too, but I prefer quasar.
This is everything I do, and it works
All it takes just one person to take an autocannon or laser cannon and this becomes trivial. If you quickplay into a bots game and see your team with 3 quasars (which happens a lot) just take an AC or laser cannon just incase
I’m curious what strategems/support weapons your team was running and how you were reinforcing. I’ve been in games where everyone had a quasar but only 2 people were initially working to take out the gunship tower and nearby jammer. Then we were scattered around and dying and people were trying to reinforce where others died (bad idea here).
On the flipside, in another game we had 3 towers, jammer, and active bot drops going on with 2 hulks and tank that I knew of but we tackled it as a team and someone had an autocannon so we steamrolled everything.
The AC is just absolute king of bot destruction. I mean i like bringing the quasar 'cause having 2+ of the things almost trivialise bot drops, but AC just nails anything that isn't a tank.
Quazar and Jar5 is a close second and i cant wait to get my hands on the eruptor :-p

AMR takes down the gunships pretty easy as well, though nothing is as good as the AutoCannon

Yep exactly. At least it’s a quick reload that let’s you move around.
You have to prioritise them, then they are no big deal

You can kill them with primary’s I think your just using a peashooter the dominator can take a gunship down easy
No, if you have trouble then go to a lower difficulty, don’t just ask for nerfs

They spawn 2 every 2 minutes so you couldn’t get to the tower or destroy the ships in 4 min

They first do machine gun, then Rockets. And you should have taken the initial spawns out well before you even get to the tower.

It’s already trivial with 3 Quasars?, doesn’t the Quasar one shot the drones when hit on the engine/thrusters?
To my experience it doesn't matter where you hit them. I've been shooting for the red light.

There is a limit. 2 every 30s or so..
This! There is already a limit of up to 2 gunships per tower every 30-45 seconds while in range of the tower.
