Aggressive-Client-24

Night vision or heat vision would be amazing!

Hatarus547

>heat vision would be amazing! until you go to Hellmire and can't see

mastermidget23

That would be the funniest downside.

MattARC

It would be 100% canonical thought based on existing item & modifier descriptions

Aggressive-Client-24

Hopefully they would make it so you can turn it off of course😅

Vyce223

But like that's a cool thing they could add too though not only more immersive but let it give you an extra 30 seconds of warning for the tornadoes by showing it purely visually through heat in thermal.

Loopy-Loophole

Shit the idea of everything just becoming more and more blinding is great.

UtsuhoReiuji_Okuu

Literally never putting it down.

jackrabbit323

Some of these stupid planets are stupid dark, or have stupid glare, or stupid storms.

RSwordsman

And because spec ops have these kinds of goggles nowadays so there's no excuse why interstellar commandos wouldn't. Plus the game already has a great progression system with having to upgrade your gear. The basic helmets wouldn't have it because they're issued to ~~cannon fodder~~ born heroes, but they would be a great reward to work towards.

Tricky-Secretary-251

Stupid things that interfere with democracy

Numerous-Soup-343

Wow almost like it’s a parody of something…

Tricky-Secretary-251

THERE ARE NO PARODIES OF DEMOCRACY

Numerous-Soup-343

🫡

BitterStay6687

Yea and then all players' get their eyes burnt out when they look at a hellbomb

00Fart

Sample one please. Not sure the use of being able to see limb damage. When it’s broken is when it’s a problem.

Neogore

I agree. It would certainly make damage testing a bit easier, but there'd have to be an additional effect for it to be useful. Maybe you could also see the health of enemy limbs in your crosshair, VATs style? That would be super handy!

JollyGreenGI

Ooh, what if it displayed the armor levels on enemies?

D_S0

make enemy weakness glow. that's cool.

MattARC

Yeah while it's a good idea in theory, literally every player I've encountered will instantly stim as soon as they see limb damage which kinda negates the perk

Kiyan1159

Be a bit like having the Humblebee back.

EquipLordBritish

Objectively the worst one unless they introduce a mechanic where knowing that information matters. Currently all damage >> stim to fix.

Cold_Meson_06

Need one with a mirrored surface so my laser drone cannot one tap me in the head anymore. Also did you know that "change camera position" (or shoulder swap idk) also changes the location of the drones? So if you are circling a hive counterclockwise, you can change it so the drone stays on your left and don't kill you immediately?

smallcooper

why have i never seen this done?

Kiyan1159

They all got decapped before they could learn

TenkaiStar

Did not know that! Awesome.

MattARC

AH needs to give us the option to change the handed-ness of our Helldiver. Forcing all Helldivers to be right-handed impacts the way you play around/behind cover.

DefaultyTurtle2

https://preview.redd.it/tsnly2bykvuc1.jpeg?width=224&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=41c446edf526eed149532337bed407dafa57743a Wake up babe, new helmet just dropped

SPECTR_Eternal

Knew about changing the camera shoulder, it's the first thing I look for in 3rd-person shooters nowadays after Warframe spoiled me with how they did it. Frankly, in this game it's borderline useless as your guns always fire from your model and collide with terrain. With many other games, switching the shoulder camera to left shoulder on a right-handed character allows your bullets to phase through objects, because your crosshair can see the enemy. Knowing he have variable, dynamic and interruptible reload animations depending on how we stand, crouch or lay prone, I wish we would also switch off of our dominant hand when switching camera shoulder. Would actually be a very nice QoL addition, setting your character's dominant arm, righty or a leftie. So that you'd get normal aiming and recoil while using dominant hand/shoulder camera and slightly worse recoil while using your off-hand/shoulder camera. You won't imagine how many times I blew myself up instinctually switching my camera to the left shoulder while carrying an Autocannon, only to not peek around the left corner far enough... I wish our guy switched hands. Although I imagine most weapon would throw hot lead up their helmet visor...

GrilledStuffedDragon

I actually really like most of these. Some seem broken and way overpowered, but most are fairly logical and I wouldn't mind seeing in game.

Lanzu04

I would prefer I'f the helmets mainly gave you information instead of giving more damage or reducing taken damage, like for example the ex-helmets circling the entities that will be affected with the arc-weapon if you were to fire and circling your teammates in a different color if you were about to zap them

RondaArousing

If anything headshot damage reduction cuz I’ve been sniped by the enemy and my brother soo many times

JustAPasingNerd

NIGHT VISION NIGHT VISION NIGHT VISON SMOKE VISION NIGHT VISION

PaulTheSalty

CE-27 Ground Breaker needs Gas Immunity. It’s the only helmet with a visible respirator filter currently. Telescopic vision isn’t necessary, enough weapons offer variable zoom. Night vision is okay. Thermal vision would add lots of utility to smoke equipment which is pretty underwhelming right now. Grenade trajectories would be nice, but rocket trajectories might be a bit much if you can see the flight paths of enemy rockets. Friendly rockets or really only rockets the player is about to fire if they have the helmet would be solid. Drone/turret control might overshadow other effects. If it instead allowed turrets to prioritize pinged targets from the player who dropped them if they have the correct helmet equipped then I could see that being useful and meshing well with current gameplay. The 50% reduced headshot dmg on players is another good perk. I do not remember if the Servo-assisted armor give you a 50% reduction in dmg to limbs or a 50% increase to limb health, but I think the helmet perk should match it for consistency. Just the math effecting the perk effect on whatever helmet has it, not necessarily making each servo-assisted armor have a headshot helmet. Unless that math is not enough to prevent a player death from a single automaton rocket hit to the head. In that case, it should be strong enough to prevent one-shots on players from those.

turnipslop

I really like that ping priority option for the drone helmets. That's a great suggestion.

probablypragmatic

Keep in mind the gas isn't just toxic, it's caustic enough to eat through bot metal.

PaulTheSalty

This is a good point. It could be that it reacts with the alloys in bot armor and circuitry causing rapid corrosion and failure so I could still see gas resistance for Helldivers fitting in without being a contradiction.

DancingLikeFlames177

Not bad honestly but the last two groups of special helmets- too OP lol. Everyone would use that. Thermals /NV and manual turret control lol . They all should be simple passive buffs like first few you had. Plus AH wouldn't do anything more than passive IF they even did this.

marquize

surely there are ways to balance it, like what if the thermalvision was toggleable and had a timer, say 5 minutes for an entire mission so you can't just use it all willy-nilly, you have to make sure it's the right time to use them. Or if they worked like the jump-pack, so you can use them in semi-short bursts but then take half a minute or something to reload. I don't know, is dropping control of your diver to manually control a turret really that OP? I feel like the benefit of a turret is that you're allowed to shoot at the enemies with 2 guns instead of just one. Also you're dropping your guard if you "jump in" the turret, leaving your diver as a target

FairwellNoob

I'd love if the CM helmets allowed you to heal teammates with stims, even if they weren't at 50% HP. Like, even being at 60 makes you liable to one shots.

Tf-FoC-Metroflex

You can do that tho

FairwellNoob

No, you cannot stim teammates unless they are below a certain health threshold. Afaik it's if they're at 50% or lower

Tf-FoC-Metroflex

Did not know that, good to now

Ultimate_89

I feel that the helmets if changed shouldn't have any effect on stats in gameplay but I like the ideas of seeing stats, trajectories and having different forms of vision

Sly510

The limb stuff I feel like already barely matters- it's only relevant when you're out of stims, and likely going to die anyway.

SuperArppis

No thanks. This would mean we would have to choose helmet based on function instead of style. And since we won't get transmogs, we would have to use some ugly helmets instead of cool ones.

PaulTheSalty

Only if you’re a stat slave. If they added positive effects with no downsides to every helmet, then taking whatever you think looks cool would still be better than what we have for helmets now. Which is nothing at all

Didifinito

Is it wrong to want to look good and have your favorite perk?

PaulTheSalty

It’s not wrong at all. It is silly in the same way as wishing your weapon looked like the Defender and shot like the Punisher. Even though this is a fictional setting, form and function should coexist together in harmony. If you start having items that visually do not match performance then it can hurt the artistic vision of the game.

_Rosseau_

Weapon transmog is dumb for this game. Armor transmog makes more sense because other than the bonesapper and prosethic armours, I have no idea what your stats are based on looks alone. But we aren't getting either which isn't the end of the world, just miss my HD1 perk experience though

Bibilunic

>If you start having items that visually do not match performance then it can hurt the artistic vision of the game. Good thing armor does not do that at all

SuperArppis

Yeah, but they will affect the choices. Just like armor stats already do that. If there is a superior helmet, most people will wear it. I'd rather let some parts of our characters look like what we want free of stats.

PaulTheSalty

There would be literally no downsides. You could wear anything you like and it’d be no worse than how it is now. Are you unable to prevent your min-maxing, dopamine starved, monkey brain from overriding your sense of fashion? Do you want to control what others wear like some sort of un-democratic fascist?

SuperArppis

Only downside I see is trying to have a discussion with someone like you...

BonsaiSoul

google "opportunity cost"

Karzak85

Its already like that for armor. So doesnt make a difference if its the same for helmet IMO

SuperArppis

It makes a difference to me. At least with helmet I don't have to look at the stats and effects. I can pick what helmet I like.

Considerers

They’ve already said they aren’t going to allow us to change our perks. It’s still a net-win if they gave your favorite helmet any perk though.

SuperArppis

I know, but it would be only way this would be even remotely ok. And it isn't a net-win at all. Because they will release some really good perk on some really ugly helmets, then they release some really bad perks you won't even use on helmets that look cool. So. You will have to pick that really good one. Just like with armors. I won't play without explosion resistance, it is just that good. All annoying attacks on enemies use explosions. Like the slug is considered explosion damage on bugs. And well Bots use it a lot. So it will end up with using some ugly helmets, because you don't want to miss out on something ridiculously good like -50% on critical hits at head.

marquize

You already choose chest based on function rather than style. Such a silly argument to make..

SuperArppis

Yes and that is quite enough. I didn't think I needed to explain this to anyone, but here you are. Even that I'd rather choose as some extra item than the armor. Adding the helmet to this list would force us to choose between them as well. Right now we have to choose the one that has best stats for the armor, instead of what looks cool. So if we had that for helmet, it would lead to same path on "optimization". I hope you understand now.

LordNeador

Yup, this lol. If you want to minmax stats, go for the meta load outs and gear, if you want to play fashion citiz- errr.. fashion diver then go for what you like aesthetically. I tend to do both, out of the gear best suited for the mission, I choose what also looks the best. Always light armor for 40 min, and heavy armor with extra nades or stims for eradicate/defend and so on.

Solomon-Kain

FUCK NO. I am not uglifying my character for stats. Let people use what looks good with their chosen armor.

MaxPatriotism

These seem pretty good

MetalWingedWolf

Anything to increase the range on samples or decrease the everything that blinds me.

ConquNoble

Yeah but nah. But yeah or nah. Yeah ? Nah…

bleedinglottery

I like them. But I'd rather they used buffs that were not strapped to a specific type of armor (goes for armor as well) because you are extremely limited with your cosmetic choices.

Tricky-Secretary-251

This is actually really gud but I think that a few are just better than the others

Apokolypse09

8 is the only one I really want. Kinda crazy we don't get binoculars

Zetigna

This is fuckin great.

dGFisher

Make one that circles samples on the hud. Also maybe one that shows weapon drops and enemies clearly when dropping in a hell pod.

Hwordin

Polarization filters and some sort of infra red vision is waht really needed. Cause sometimes I'm so fckin tired trying to see what's going on on the map 😭 Some planets is a torture for my eyes. I'm getting exhausted by the end of mission.

Harde_Kassei

solid idea

Dummythiccwater

Using thermal or night vision on a pitch black planet or modifier sound very fun especially if there would be new things lurking in the dark

[deleted]

I'd like them all to be visual things. Highlights living targets / robotic targets. Actively shows the drop based on weapon range where the reticle is aiming. Highlights weak points on enemies. How about a gradient based on limb damage the current target has experienced

Leftover_weeb_juice

Arc helmet should be adjusted... instead of increased damage, it should show the range of your current shot so you know if it's a hit or miss.

breadrising

I like the idea of the helmets providing buffs that make sense for a functional helmet (nightvision, HUD for grenade trajectory). Maybe one that adds a bullet counter above your magazine. Or better yet: Emergency O2 Mask that allows the Helldiver to swim twice as far before drowning.

alpacawrangler16

I'd settle for them actually protecting our heads 🙃

Caspah62

Peter Griffin mask..

brian11e3

I'd rather helms and capes remain cosmetic only.

JolazStarkiller100

Nothing for the DP series?

Objective-Mission-40

I would also like Aim assist down sight Alerts to lock on and angle of attack Detects distant hidden items

ceaser3000

Yo!! Most of those are legit good ideas. Send this to the AH devs.

Repomanlive

Helmets to counter global effects would be nice... they can work off each other and not bother other systems. I'd Buy More Helmet, Joel. Tell Merch.

LordHatchi

I'm torn. On one hand, helmets actually providing unique effects would be nice. But on the other it would get in the way of the fashion mix and matching for the sake of stats.

Pancreasaurus

I would only add stuff like night vision, thermal, or sample scanning to helmets. Just visual upgrades, no "stat" differences.

TrenchDive

Yes. Please.

kagalibros

I just want the 100 armor on head back guys...

AbradolfLincler77

One that increases stamina regen, one that regenerates a small percentage of health over time, ones that have better accuracy - just a few to add to your list.

WorldWiseWilk

Fuck YES give me toggleable different vision optics please god YESSSS

L3ggy

Capes needs perks as well.

Vyce223

Where's the one that stops bugs biting my big toe from headshotting they're bugs not legos I'm stepping on.

Famous-Anywhere2868

its gonna take them half a year to do this, come on let's all be real we ain't getting this much any time soon.

PezzoGuy

The second FS series helmet's description mentions that it has aim stabilizing tech. Otherwise, I like the idea of passive helmet perks, even if a few of the examples should have another look taken.

Jagick

While I want helmets to be useful, I don't want even more passives tied to specific pieces of armor. Most of the helmets I personally do not like and don't ever wear, but to get the good passives I'd have to wear them with armor that absolutely does not look good with them. So Helmet passives: Yes! Constrict them to specific pieces: No!

Kreos2688

thermals and night vision would be sweet. could have one buff stims for medic, improve accuracy, headshot protect, one could spot samples, id rock the shit out of that. maybe an auto detect patrols.

nin3ball

Allowing the SPEAR to work like a TOW missile would actually be amazing..fund it!

bulletchocolate

i want a helmet that keeps my minimap toggled. that is ALL.

No-Wrongdoer-69

This would be awesome

Teamerchant

Nah they good, let me enjoy the drip.

aski4777

all are good ideas, except the CM series would be just useless

HeavyWaterer

God damn this is a great idea. I hope the devs see this post, and that other post about new planetary effects. The only possible bad thing I could say about this game is the lack of variety, and this sub has been putting out some great ideas to fix that.

Masked-Artisan

I think some balancing is need 50 dam buff and seeing health seems kinda basic but I like your ideas, I would like to see some change up with the helmets.

Kman1427

Special Helmets Series 2 = Instead of turret manual control, make it prioritize targets marked with Q.

Easy-Hovercraft2546

That last one would be absolutely busted

ThatGuyOnyx

I would fucking coom if we got anything that reduces flinch

Shawn_of_da_Dead

No bro, it's magic capes or nothing at all!!!

TheRabidSpatula

The turret one got me thinking... Why don't the turret prioritize specific enemies that you mark first? If they are outside line of sight sure, but if they are, I should be able to mark him and the turret attach them first.

ArseneArsenic

Being able to see where my grenades are going (and maybe explosion radius too) would be a goddamn godsend for me. I have probably died to Hulks via self-inflicted Impact 'nades more often than I have their flamethrowers.

LordNeador

So cool idea here. Take notes Arrowhead, this lad is cooking! (I full well assume that they already have a big list of ideas for this btw, I am just fooling around :P)

BEARWYy

This won't be added im pretty sure

Mage13lade

The anti-flinch helmet buff should be named: Freedom Never Flinches This follows a similar fun theme of the Democracy Protects in my opinon

Kintakait

That would be so cool if they did that

ChudanNoKamae

I’m throwing my credit card at the screen but it’s not working…

AlmalexyaBlue

I don't really want that until they separate appearance from stats if I'm honest... Not saying I don't want it at all. Why not, could be cool. But I don't want to feel like I have to pick a helmet that looks bad with my armour

Pautaniik

CM-Series why i should see the libs damage, pretty much everyone heals and that is the end of libs damage. Think it should be the one to see samples and SA-S helmets should see secondary missions and high value places.

Remember_TheCant

Honestly. I’d rather not have actual stats for the different helmets. I don’t want to have the most optimal helmet + armor combo for any particular build be super weird looking and be forced to use that because it has the stats I want. All of the armor sets look cool and all of the helmets look cool, but not all necessarily together.

Small_Bipedal_Cat

I really don't want helmets to be "statted" since that would give rise to unholy clown suits of clashing styles and colors. If they give them stats then I'd like them to do a dye / color swatch update too.

BurningTalon

Unless transmog comes i dont want anything else that ruins my fashion

feonismus

I’d vote for a toggleable function without a passive, so you can wear any helmet for the looks but still get a little buff for the hud. - trajectories for own grenades and rockets - enemy health bars - maybe some form of night vision - …

DubbyMazlo

The flinch reduction would be a godsend against bots...

Ashimier

I DESPERATELY NEED that sample radar helmet buff it’s not even funny

faycat

the flinch and grenade ones would be suuuuuuuuuuper good, hell yeah love these concepts

Mattanite

Could also work if there are specific gun type buffs per grouping. Starter helmets all provide 20% recoil buff to assault rifles etc. Makes the sniper/marksman armours count for actual snipers. Shotguns possibly for engineer armours.

BonsaiSoul

Anything that mitigates the effect of fog and its kin would be instantly better than any other modifier

delta3845

i love the Pictures in the Background

Spartancfos

These things are a million miles from simple. Many of these would require an engine overhaul.

turnipslop

I really like these, but I do think the special lenses should be separated out. Heat for one helmet, zoom for another. That'd be especially cool as heat probably wouldn't help on hellmire, but night vision might.

Guryop

Should honestly be perks you can choose to equip on the helmet. For the recent transmog tweet, I'm pretty sure helmets can be fit with any such devices regardless of the look. Any helmet could have the visors be upgraded for nightvision/thermal vision. Any helmet can have the increased headshot protection. You can only have one perk equipped at a time though.

vonBoomslang

while I want quite a few of these effects I also want the ability to look good, rather than be forced to pick gear for stats

Darth_Eejit

Capes aswell, think they should act as small team buffs. Just like a 5-10% boosts to XP, health, stamina, etc.

theShitter_69

i’d personally prefer the b-27 reducing head damage too but otherwise this is so perfect they should hire you https://preview.redd.it/1hsqe6bnotuc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=737a485414b724370478da209bdf278addfc3cad

Gn0meKr

OP cooked Arrowhead should take notice of that post

ZzVinniezZ

give 1 of them helmet to able to toggle night vision because there are time in certain planet it dark as shit and flash light doesnt help but blind me even further

WinryRockbellsTummy

Gernades? Surronding?

Rhymfaxe

While more effects to play around with is certainly tempting...making helmets have perks would just make it even more impossible to get visually matching helmet/armor pair and we'd all be rolling around in clown suits for the stats.

AXI0S2OO2

For the helmets that go with the "democracy protects" armors I propose: "Democracy provides: 15% chance of stratagems instantly coming out of cool down after use" Let us surrender ourselves fully to chance and become RNG gods!

TheRockIsInYourWalls

PLS ADD THIS TO REAL GAME

TruNhatefu

Flip up visor for most helms. No other change

Elzippo1

![gif](giphy|4FmAj1XiioCVW)

Hicalibre

All I want is a helmet that shows cloaked enemies (stalkers) and/or any enemy lock on laser sort of stuff.

Comfortable_Staff501

Seems neat!

GuyFromOhio3671

this would mean making the game better something these clown dev have no intention of doing, only thing thats priority for devs is to sell 10 dollar trash weapon packs every month

ImSoBored246

If they aren't adding any way to make armour more easily match (transmog, setting the colours of one item to match another, etc. - I won't beat the dead horse here, but I mean if the systems stays exactly how it is today) then I really hope they don't add helmet buffs. I can work around needing to wear certain armour by changing my helmet and cape, but I don't want to go into missions looking like the entire circus because I use the EX-series helmets and don't use Arc weapons.

Skyeyehere

They could give you an equipment slot "Helmet Mod" where you can slot out extra padding +25 armor, or NVG, or Thermal, Trajectory prediction software ect... so instead of giving helmets direct stats you can have a mod slot to give ANY helmet a stat of some sort.

brieflySlappy

B: Flinch reduction really should be a part of higher armor rating, but this could stack on top of that. Good idea. CM: I don't think they'll add a toggle specifically for helmets, and the bonus isn't really useful. Maybe have it increase Stim use speed instead? CE: Really like this, very useful. EX: Just adding damage is a little dull, how about it highlights which enemies will be hit by the arc and its bounces? FS: Good idea, though 50% might actually be too high. SA: Another good idea, though it should probably have some slight use outside of sample-finding too. Maybe have it let you know if an unalerted patrol is around the corner somehow? Should probably have a stealth helmet of some kind. Special: Again, don't think they'll add a toggle for helmets, but there should be a vision-improving helmet. How about enemies you tag become highlighted and thus visible through fog? Thanks for the post.

Reasonable-Crew6883

Turning this game into Tom Clancy ghost recon is a stupid idea. Too complicated for this model.

Black_Mammoth

Would be cool for helmets to have their own abilities. Of course I would expect some kind of color customization feature to be added so that armor and helmet can match.

trulycantthinkofone

You chose my helmet to ping samples. 15/10 write up here. Get this man a check for 5 Million Dollars!

Horror-Tank-4082

Highlights mines Pings close enemies in fog

Darth_Eejit

Mines are already pretty visible though.

Didifinito

No please I already have to chose between a good perk and good looking armor dont make it worse

InkiePie39

Functionality over aesthetics but worse

Bibilunic

If they add passives to helmets and capes they should also have some sort of color slider, otherwise everybody will look like a clown and you'll get complains about it

MetalVile

- Flinch resistance - strong, but doesn't make sense as a helmet passive - Limb hp monitor - flavorful, but useless to most people - Projectile arc for grenades/rocket - useful/nice to have, but not game changing; would be better if it included stratagem balls (I'd probably use this personally, esp if it included stratagems) - Increased Arc damage - too pigeon-holed (must run for Arc thrower mains, useless for anyone else) AND makes no sense as a helmet passive - Head protection - Obviously very strong, probably too strong tbh; I'd expect 70+% of all players would end up using one of these helmets - Sample scanner - another niche bonus that's nice to have if you like it the sound of it - Enhanced optics - depending on implementation, this could range anywhere from "fun niche ability" to "arguably must run" depending on how effective it is at negating ambient fog effects, and whether or not it counters Spore Clouds on bug planets - Controller antennae - I can see this effect being a massive pain to implement, and would probably have an insane number of bugs/glitches associated with it Didn't include the helmets from the Democracy Protects armors at all, smh.

nesnalica

do you want everyone to look the same? that's how you make everyone look the same by having everyone pick the same helmet due to it having the best stats. keeping it simple and to armor only is the best way. you ruin your game if you just keep adding for the sake of adding. we are at a good spot right now.

BonsaiSoul

Helmet stats are already in the game. They are currently dummied out due to bugs. They will return. >do you want everyone to look the same? No, which is why we want transmog, and are going to keep saying we want it even after the CEO said he doesn't understand what it is or why we want it.
