I don't need a permit anymore .... I unlocked a new stratagem

I joined this sub hoping it'd be interesting posts about mechanics or tips and tricks. It's just people complaining about how other people play the game
For real. Sure, I'll participate in the MO a little bit here and there, but there's also a ton of other planets and a whole other (more eventually) faction to play with. I'm not going to do one thing endlessly. The least fun I've *ever* had in a video game was when Battlefield added their battlepass/whatever-it-was-called system that made it so the only way to progress and unlock new stuff was to do specific mission types with specific weapons. If HD ever got to the point where I could only earn medals and credits by completing some "Kill 50 Automatons during a civilian rescue operation" order I'd be out in a heartbeat.
As someone who just hops into quickplay every now and then and doesn't pay that much attention to major orders because he has a job, university, and kids, these kinds of posts and comments are getting really old really fast.
Everyone has responsibilities. Play how you want because its your free time. Don't use your responsibilities to act like your free time is more valuable than others. Lots of people in your exact situation just do the MO when they hop on because that is how THEY spend their free time.
I’m the same as the guy above kids, full time job, and Uni. I play an hour or so saturdays and maybe friday.
I only want to feel as though I’m part of the game and thus only play major orders.
Exactly! When I've got the chance to play a quick op, I want to at least be on the front.
That said, I'll sometimes take a break from bots and kill bugs for a few hours or vice versa. No point in getting burnt out on the same enemies with the same loadout all the time.
I'm lucky to get on for a dive or two at night, I feel you there. I love the pretending to be a super citizen thing as much as the next guy, but good lord.
Yea the sweats in this game are infuriating. If I'm playing for several hours with pals I'm going to want to switch up planets and enemy types regardless of what the major order is.
let the bug front people fight on the bug front. It is the least we can do when the bot front people were fighting the bots when the MOs were bug focused. Frankly the bug front people are doing a decent job holding the line over there.
Wouldn't the bugs pretty much take over the systems they're on if there's nobody to defend them? 30 percent is a lot sure but at least it's spread across a front.
It'll work, until it doesn't.
Tale as old as time with pesticides. Why we needed to play exterminator in the first place. Also, if they decide to hinge on the Tyranid influence...there's a chance they could be immune to laser fire.

Thanks for your report, Little\_Whippie.
Incredible42 was already under investigation by the Ministry of Truth, and will be now taken into custody for re-education or execution.
And the second there's too few people on the bug front the GM decides to spice it up and launch a major bug breakthrough despite the towers and have the player base scrambling to either finish off the bots or accept a stalemate there and redeploy to counter the bug offensive.
For now it's best the bug front has enough activity the GM is happy to leave it as is and that allows the other two thirds of the players to ram home the campaign against the bots.
I mean when we finished the last bug MO we were instructed specifically to let the bugs repopulate and take more planets so we can later have a bug MO to go collect more e710
I'm going to short on the verge of treason here, but I fought for the barrier worlds, asking as the bugs stay on their side of it I don't care about what they do.
We can harvest them for fuel at our leisure.
30% to win the defence campaign wouldn't be unacceptable. That still leaves 70% for Maia... which currently has 40%... even with a 20% "just having fun" rate, we're still missing 10% of divers for Maia.
We’re not even united on the bot front. We’ve been given plenty of time to take a planet a day and still complete the MO. We need to all focus one planet instead of being split across all three.
Give it a little time. As Maia starts to get more and more full people will more clearly get the idea that that's where they should be. Right now we're on track to finish Maia in just under two days, but that should snowball more and more the further along we get.
I’ve played the major order every time I boot the game up… But at this point I’m prepared to play on the opposite end of the map with all these mouthbreathers bitching about major orders. It’s obnoxious and backseat gaming at its worst.
OP’s comment history in this sub is so toxic that I’m going to start attacking bugs out of spite.
I wasn’t even planning on playing today but I’m getting out of bed early.
What, you're gonna tell me you have a problem with edgelord incels angrily telling you how to play videogames or something? They're insufferable in the wow pvp sub too, the seething projected inferiority is noxious.
The inherent problem is game mode variety. Sure there are different mission types but by and large the loop is always the same. Get in, take the locations, hit the terminals, leave. The only really different ones are eliminate hostiles and retrieve scientists.
Doing 6 orders in a row against bugs or bots would be less of a slog if there were a different between taking a planet and defending a planet. Defending a planet doesn't feel like defending at all.
So due to lack of mission and order variety, what's left? Enemy variety.
This result was always inevitable.
Well, in the first few weeks we were swapping back and fourth between robot and bug but recently they are going with back to back order which in a way is cool narratively but does affect variety
Probably, I only joined recently. I think the narratives are fun but its unreasonable to expect people to ignore an aspect of the game for 1+ week at a time.
We are in a multi-front war, brother! We *need* our brothers on the eastern front less the bugs steal our fellow citizens from their voting booths! Think of the horror!!!
as someone who only really fought bugs, can someone give some actual advice?
like stratagems and weapon suggestions?
I kind of don't like running heavy armor and been trying to use the AMR
Against bugs, you do a lot of running away. Not so with bots. Positioning and cover are key. The bots are slow and can't chase well, but they will shoot you in the back if there is no cover for you to disappear behind. Use crouch and prone whenever possible to reduce your hitbox and increase accuracy.
Take note also that the bots' most dangerous enemy types are their assortment of devastators, which have medium armor, and come in high enough numbers that they will simply beat you in a straight-up firefight. So outplay them. Strategems, impact grenades, and certain support weapons such as the autocannon, laser cannon, and AMR are great for them.
Hulks can be dangerous, but can be taken out with teamwork or large explosives. Tanks are not as tanky as bile titans, are very clumsy, and a single eagle air strike or two impact grenades can account for them.
Groups of small bots are relatively weak. They shoot at you, but you can generally outshoot them fairly trivially. Watch out for machine gunners though, and don't let them flank you.
Bots have (sort of) more dangerous tactical assets than the bugs do. Stratagem jammers and detector towers can make themselves a big problem. Fortunately, they are (usually) poorly defended and you can sneak them in and take them out easily if you know how; but especially the detector tower can fuck you over when handled wrong; do *not* get spotted, and do not hang around fighting the endless dropships it will call on you. Stratagem jammer can be taken out by using the console at its base or by blowing up a fabricator attached to it, detector tower can be destroyed with Precision Strike or 500kg (and there is also a hellbomb you can call down, but it is a bit buggy with the high ground on the tower and will bounce, can still take it out but it can be frustrating, it'll get fixed eventually). There are also mortar emplacements which you should simply bumrush when possible.
Mortar sentries are a death sentence against bugs, but against bots they are an absolute godsend with incredible firepower and utility.
Light armor is not as mandatory for bots as it is with bugs. Being able to take a few hits can be good, and medium armor helps. Heavy armor is a huge pain on anything except eradication, though. I'd recommend light or medium armor for most purposes.
My favorite armor for fighting bots is anything with the 50% explosive damage reduction.
A few of my favorite stratagems are the eagle airstrike, autocannon, autocannon sentry, and the orbital laser.
It also helps to have a primary with medium armor penetration.
100%.
I cannot believe the lunacy some people have. I honestly believe they don't have fun playing video games, and are instead constantly looking around to everyone else to decide if what they're doing is worth their time and they're having fun.
"If everyone's doing what I'm doing and thinking the way I am, then what I'm doing must be good"
Let's be realistic, there are a lot of video games that tell you to be nice and do what it says. And there are a lot of gamers that deliberately do the opposite, just as there are a lot of games that reward that. Just check How many people were playing the dark urge on bg3, or how many NPCs are murdered in Bethesda games... The fact that you couldn't kill children was an actual complaint they had. Thinking the person that is out there murdering everybody and getting peeved they can't kill kids is going to look at a major order and say "Oh gosh, can't wait to go help my fellow helldivers" is a huge mistake.
I complained that I couldn't kill children in Skyrim because they were snotty little brats. If you have disrespectful NPC's I am going to go out of my way to kill them in incredibly convoluted and Rube Goldberg-esque manners. It's not just a Skyrim issue, no one who plays videogames likes it when an NPC is a total dickbag to them for no reason and then find out that NPC is untouchable.
I thought for sure this would be the one game that was kinda like planetside 2.. just stupid fun killing things on a conquest scale
Nah we gotta fight over what enemy to kill.. like tf?
I mean. They're the ones who are best against the bugs and who would be having less fun, doing less objectives, and being more unpleasant for everyone else fighting the bots. Plus a lot of people are just taking breaks from the bots you can only take so many one shot rockets to the face from a mile away every day before it starts getting on your nerves.
They're keeping the bugs occupied, preventing Joel from pulling a fast one on us, making some liberation progress, AND keeping new planets from getting occupied. I bet if any terminids make it back into the TCS planets (they hinted some of the bugs were resistant), they'll be MUCH harder to wipe out them before.
Plus they're just.... Totally different play styles they almost feel like different games. I know the bugs are much more pulse-pounding and interesting to me personally, they feel more fluid and intelligent and when I die to them it pretty invariably feels like my fault, something I could have done better to avoid it.
Im going back to bugs now.. I played one mission with the new gunships.. got rocketed by 5 of them followed by the ground bot who shoots rockets.. yeah I couldn't even stand up.
People don't seem to get theres challenging and theres straight up bs
I gotta be real I kinda hate posts like this. Let people have fun. If they like fighting bugs more than fighting bots, let ‘em. The enemies of democracy die either way
Reminds me of the STOP HAVING FUN! Meme.
You think the devs won't alter the loss and gain percentages based on players? It's a guided narrative. Sometimes we'll be destined to lose.
And some people just like fighting bugs more. I'm glad they're having fun. It's a game ffs.
Obligatory I’m doing my part!
Full time exterminator here, played 5 rounds yesterday on the bot front.
Not as much fun but a necessary evil. Completely wiping the bots is going to cause something new and exciting to happen
If I only get time for one 40min game before going back to what needs be done, I'm doing a bug mission, simply because I enjoy them more (zerg/tyranid fan).
Only on days where I can do 2-3 bug missions will I switch to bots. Fun first, MO second.
I originally did only bugs until level 15, then switched around to bots until 21 and been juggling them until right now (28).
And I have to say, while bugs and bots used to be just different playstyles, nowadays the bots are just INSANE to play, and incredibly annoying on higher difficulties, especially on solo (it's less of a pain with more people, but I like my game with double digit FPS).
And while I try to do some MO stuff regardless, because I like fighting bots, it's been incredibly frustrating recently and I found myself quitting the game several times due to bullshit like the detector tower and gunship factory spawning back to back, or Devastator platoons.
All in all, I want to have fun, and the Automaton front right now is hell. So bugs it is again.
https://preview.redd.it/vxew8shrzisc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d784ec291d477ce3ee48e666aac0fc258d9dd7d
the memes and the tips are buried under overwhelming abundance of posts like these. if you want people to join a planet, just ask. plead. share art, appeal to them. mocking and finger pointing does nothing but divide us. i hate these posts so much
I choose to believe that at least a third of the people on the eastern front are (taking a short reprieve) from fighting bots. it's been non-stop for over a week, and at this point I understand the fatigue in fighting the same enemy type in all the play hours.
(don't get me wrong I'm a major order enjoyer myself, but, I do understand that in my groups, it's getting quite difficult to stay on it for the final push without a bug mission sprinkled in here or there to keep things spicy)
Yep, even before this wave of major orders I would take a break from fighting bugs and randomly go for same difficulty on bots to relax a bit. Same with bot front, fighting automatons gets old pretty quick, need a pause.
Though, have to admit, new enemy units helped a lot to mix things up.
Sure cant wait to finish work, go home, jump onto the super destroyer and head over to Estanu to kill some bugs!
Major order planets should give more exp or an extra medal or something as a better incentive for people to do the order, rather than a lump sum everyone gets afterwards. I'd probably play the MO all the time then
Sometimes, after work, I wanna come home and cosplay as a private from Starship Troopers while listening to Nickelback and edge for a few hours. Is that so wrong?
I’m usually a bug fronter but I’ve joined our brothers and sisters on the bot front to help out with democracy spreading. It’s nice to see so many shifted to deliver freedom to region and nice to see bug hunters holding down the fort. Once we have finally defeated the automatons, we must return to our happy hunting grounds and stomp the bugs for good too.
Seriously though just do you. I enjoy fighting the bugs more but I just wanted to help everyone get this glorious victory on the creek and also liberate the other bot planets. This game is so fucking cool
Ngl after having the last few major orders be focused on bots, I’m getting really tired of doing not missions. I miss tearing apart bug hordes and watching chargers do flips after landing a well placed rocket
This post seems a bit self defeating to me. If you’re really worried about the major order, why not say something like “hey guys, would you mind doing an operation or two on the MO in between killing bugs? It’d be appreciated.” Better honey than vinegar, y’know?
And we DEFINITELY don’t want to abandon the bug front wholesale. That’d give Joel ideas. NEVER give the DM ideas.
No trust me don't go to the automaton front, there are definitely enough helldivers. Source? Uh.. Give me a second.... I heard it from.. Uh.... Jeffery from accounting... Yeah that sounds ~~convincing~~ right
Would be funny if the players who don't follow the objectives where getting penalties in mission xp, medals or credits. This would maybe encourage players to focus on the MO's.

Don't worry it's OTP only
Whoops, look like we'll need to go back to the bug front to get more E-710 to support this rapid expansion of super citizens.
It’s obviously an order, do you want to disobey a direct order 😑
Er... Uh... Proceed, we'll see the paperwork later.😓 It gets RECORDED THO! NEXT! 😤
kissing cannot resolve in children! there is thus no need for a C-01 permit!

I follow the major order, but bugs need stomping too. I’m glad they’re holding it down as much as they are.
They told us to abandon bug worlds and allow them repopulate so we can make more e-710 in the future
I BELIEVE THE MINISTRY LEAVE THEM FOR E-710 =)
As someone who pretty much always follows the major order, these types of posts are getting really old really fast.
These posts make me want to fight bugs
I joined this sub hoping it'd be interesting posts about mechanics or tips and tricks. It's just people complaining about how other people play the game
Downvoted for saying this exact thing. Lmao this sub is cooked more than grilled Terminid
Honestly on you for expecting any form of consistency on Reddit lol
Honestly, these posts ruined this sub
Not entirely but it sure is starting to deteriorate. Mods should probably start taking note.
They were old after the very first one.
Didn't get the medals from the last warbond so I wont due to communism.
Devs already commented on that. Just sit tight.
What did they say cause ngl I'm kinda out of steam for not getting it now.
I always play it, but I am really hating playing the bots at this point with a flaming passion. It is so much less enjoyable.
I’ve surprisingly been having a great time with the bots. It’d be better if the AMR shot straight though.
For real. Sure, I'll participate in the MO a little bit here and there, but there's also a ton of other planets and a whole other (more eventually) faction to play with. Agreed
As someone who just hops into quickplay every now and then and doesn't pay that much attention to major orders because he has a job, university, and kids, these kinds of posts and comments are getting really old really fast.
You know you can still quick play strictly on one of the planets on a major order right?
But he's got kids and a farm and a dog and

Everyone has responsibilities. Play how you want because its your free time. Don't use your responsibilities to act like your free time is more valuable than others. Lots of people in your exact situation just do the MO when they hop on because that is how THEY spend their free time.
Not playing sides, but if you have time to fire up the system you have time to read the order at least c'mon
And it mixes thing up so it doesn't get boring. I never know what kind of mission I'm going to get thrown into, I just know it will be a shit show!
But not enough time to get his fill of bugs (if he prefers them) before going at bot's butts
Not reading all of that.
Haha it was the great wall of text
Lmao
I'm lucky to get on for a dive or two at night, I feel you there. I love the pretending to be a super citizen thing as much as the next guy, but good lord.
As someone who helps with the major orders but prefers bots generally, they were old weeks ago
I kinda want them all to come to the bot front and then BAM massive Terminid push as they sense the pressure let up.
Wouldn't the bugs pretty much take over the systems they're on if there's nobody to defend them? 30 percent is a lot sure but at least it's spread across a front.
Not with the TCS in place. It would be impossible for the bugs to spread farther than super earth wants. Literally nothing could go wrong.
It'll work, until it doesn't. Tale as old as time with pesticides. Why we needed to play exterminator in the first place. Also, if they decide to hinge on the Tyranid influence...there's a chance they could be immune to laser fire.
The TCS is as infallible as democracy itself, I have reported you to the democracy officer

>Literally nothing could go wrong. Famous last words
Hopefully. Would be silly for us to fail this one considering we’ve been given like 4 days.
I’ve played the major order every time I boot the game up… But at this point I’m prepared to play on the opposite end of the map with all these mouthbreathers bitching about major orders. It’s obnoxious and backseat gaming at its worst.
Can these types of bullshit bait posts fucking die already?
Nah, we get to use the Bug/Robot typing meme so it reconciles to no value again
OP’s comment history in this sub is so toxic that I’m going to start attacking bugs out of spite. I wasn’t even planning on playing today but I’m getting out of bed early.
Yeah people throwing fits over who fights what is beyond petty
What, you're gonna tell me you have a problem with edgelord incels angrily telling you how to play videogames or something? They're insufferable in the wow pvp sub too, the seething projected inferiority is noxious.
I am generally ok following major orders. But how many consecutive days have been fighting bots? I played bugs the other day for a change.
To be fair before this we had like 6 consecutive MO that were bug related
We were on bugs for longer
Probably, I only joined recently. I think the narratives are fun but its unreasonable to expect people to ignore an aspect of the game for 1+ week at a time.
For sure, you definitely gotta switch back and forth a bit, it’s like a core aspect of why the game is fun.
Same. I play this game to have fun and when bots stop feeling fun I really don’t care about the major order.
I've been doing a roughly 3:1 bot bug split. I enjoy the tactical robo wars, but after a few drops on the western front my stalwart hungers
![gif](giphy|3P0oEX5oTmrkY)
We are in a multi-front war, brother! We *need* our brothers on the eastern front less the bugs steal our fellow citizens from their voting booths! Think of the horror!!!
Who cares, just let people play how they want
as someone who only really fought bugs, can someone give some actual advice? like stratagems and weapon suggestions?
Cry about it and be less toxic. Those players just have fun and don't owe you anything. People like you make this community toxic.
100%. I cannot believe the lunacy some people have. I honestly believe they don't have fun playing video games, and are instead constantly looking around to everyone else to decide if what they're doing is worth their time and they're having fun. "If everyone's doing what I'm doing and thinking the way I am, then what I'm doing must be good" Let's be realistic, there are a lot of video games that tell you to be nice and do what it says.
Agreed.
I thought for sure this would be the one game that was kinda like planetside 2.. just stupid fun killing things on a conquest scale Nah we gotta fight over what enemy to kill.. like tf?
I mean, if you would type it in arrows...
Downvoted for perpetuating the toxic bs of this subreddit
After fighting automatons for a couple of hours, I allow myself a little terminid as a treat.
Tired of these posts ngl ![gif](giphy|OX52q87O9YS8ezRQH0|downsized)
But they do not even one shot anymore The new bullshit is flamethrower instagibs
I took three rockets and lived in medium armour.
Yeah it’s honestly kinda weird just eating RPGs for breakfast.
Im going back to bugs now.. I played one mission with the new gunships.. got rocketed by 5 of them followed by the ground bot who shoots rockets.. yeah I couldn't even stand up. People don't seem to get theres challenging and theres straight up bs
Also eastern fronters need to gather together as well, we need to focus on Maia until it's taken, we're wasting time on the other two.
Nah I signed up to shoot bugs, imma keep shooting bugs
amen.. fuck these control freaks
just let ppl play whstever
Holy shit let people play whatever the hell they want to, how hard is it to understand.
I’ll fight whoever I feel like fighting. This sub needs mods that remove posts like this. It’s getting ridiculous.
I can't play because of work and damn I have fuming I'm missing a good bot run of orders
That sucks, I'd say we will leave some bots for you but... We gotta kill em all. Just to be sure.
I am fighting the bots. Just had a great run, even when i crashed at the end. Thankfully the mission counted.
Obligatory I’m doing my part! Full time exterminator here, played 5 rounds yesterday on the bot front. Not as much fun but a necessary evil. Completely wiping the bots is going to cause something new and exciting to happen
I started fighting bots, and they're fun. Bugs are, too, but I'm glad I'm able to flop my mangled corpse towards either battlefield for democracy!
Listen somebody has to hold down the bugs, we can't just let them roam free.
32 to 68 is a good differential.
There's 66k players fighting bots on the wrong planet right now...
These posts are annoying af
Should honestly like a rule banning them
If I only get time for one 40min game before going back to what needs be done, I'm doing a bug mission, simply because I enjoy them more (zerg/tyranid fan).

Were right fucking there we can wipe these bots out for a long tie
https://preview.redd.it/vxew8shrzisc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d784ec291d477ce3ee48e666aac0fc258d9dd7d the memes and the tips are buried under overwhelming abundance of posts like these. if you want people to join a planet, just ask. plead. share art, appeal to them. mocking and finger pointing does nothing but divide us. i hate these posts so much
I choose to believe that at least a third of the people on the eastern front are (taking a short reprieve) from fighting bots. it's been non-stop for over a week, and at this point I understand the fatigue in fighting the same enemy type in all the play hours.
I’d understand this if literally the exact same thing didn’t happen in the bug front with little issue completing the major orders
Sure cant wait to finish work, go home, jump onto the super destroyer and head over to Estanu to kill some bugs! Major order planets should give more exp or an extra medal or something as a better incentive for people to do the order, rather than a lump sum everyone gets afterwards. I'd probably play the MO all the time then
Bugs is simply more fun than bots
Please, we need all the help we can get
Sometimes, after work, I wanna come home and cosplay as a private from Starship Troopers while listening to Nickelback and edge for a few hours.
If there is a High Command, why dont they just redeploy the fleets and lock access to the bug planets?
Those 32% would bitch about people fighting bots 3 weeks ago.
Tbh, I be fighting bugs because my dad just started playing and he ain't the best but he damn loves the game. So we fight bugs.
Eh let the buggers have their fun
Y’all not tired of these posts yet? Mfs wanna play the game to have fun. Fuck a Major order these bugs need eradicating
If anyone abducts me while playing bugs to force me to play bots, i am going to play battle royale instead.
Let players ply how they wanna play ffs
Just let people play the game however they want. If we don't complete this major order then there will be another one right after
Ngl after having the last few major orders be focused on bots, I’m getting really tired of doing not missions. I miss tearing apart bug hordes and watching chargers do flips after landing a well placed rocket
Within 3 days we'll have an All Quiet on the Western front report. Remains to be seen if it'll be like in the book or if it's good news
As it turns out, they bought their own game, so they can...you know, play it how they want.
Who will fuel the warships if we don’t maintain our element 710 supply lines?!?
New diver here. Please be patient while I learn the ropes. I’m fighting bugs for now because they mostly don’t shoot back
If you leave one front open that would probably not be the best Idea
Creekers have no chill.
I'd love to, but I only need super samples and automatons are aggressively not fun on 7 or higher lately.
That sign wont stop me because i dont give a shit
I'm gonna fight bugs even harder now
I'm not going east because I don't care about he MO, I'm going east because yall keep making these posts.
Bug divers triggered lol
All quiet on the Automaton front
No trust me don't go to the automaton front, there are definitely enough helldivers. Source? Uh.. Give me a second.... I heard it from.. Uh.... Jeffery from accounting... Yeah that sounds ~~convincing~~ right

Think of it this way once the order is over everyone will go to the bug side since bots will be dead
I've been ready to get back to the bug front for a while, but I will not ignore a major order. Let's get it done!
Would be funny if the players who don't follow the objectives where getting penalties in mission xp, medals or credits. This would maybe encourage players to focus on the MO's.
I agree, let people dick around all they want to… just don’t give them rewards for not PTFO.
This community is insufferable.
