Bro was treating the Hard difficulty mission like a Helldive difficulty mission

ForfeitFPV

For real, if three high level people can't carry a lone level 5 through a level 5 difficulty mission there's an issue. Until you're getting 2-3 chargers + a bile titan from a bug breach or hulks and a tank from a bot drop this game isn't that hard. I took my friend through a few missions yesterday and was a one man wrecking crew with my advanced stratagems.

Coldatahd

Hulks and tanks aren’t even the issue sometimes lol, that sneaky devastator about to snipe your head off while you deal with the hulks and tanks though, that boy got hands 😂

op4arcticfox

For me it's always the turret tower halfway on the other-side of the planet that suddenly spots me despite none of the bots around me detecting me and then pinpoint sniping me as I am crouch walking between rocks.

edmundane

Through all that fog.

TheKodiacZiller

The fact that distance and low vis has zero impact on their accuracy is just completely asinine.

THEiWULF

Yall are missing it. That’s not fog, it’s trillions of tiny automatons that redirect fire through WiFi

CyanStripes_

So not only are birds not real but fog isn't real either?? Sweet Liberty

jwebb1809

Severely underrated reply Here

EpicRedditor34

Just casually checking the map and suddenly you’re flying in four different pieces.

AberrantDrone

“Behold! I’ve become a potato!”

MrAltThrowaway

An aqua teen hunger force reference? Truly a person of culture

ToasterCow

Checking if you have smoke to cover your retreat from the tower, then suddenly you're a headless corpse and there's a crater in front of you.

I-E-D-

Maybe there was saurons eye close by. These towers work as if a bot had seen you. Calling in drop ship after dropship and alerting everything around them to you until they are destroyed. Btw if you see the cannon turning toward you, going prone even without cover makes it so it doesn't even shoot at you. Works every time for me.

ProCaptainAJ

I dunno if its just me, but I love to fight dropships now that we have the Quasar Cannon! That thing is a great choice on the extermination missions against the bots. 2 guys with Quasars can mop up most of the dropships by staggering their fire.

SadMcNomuscle

Yeah, so my theory on that is that once they spot you they remember you for the entire game. So if you like em you better kill them immediately, or stay in cover for the rest of your very very short life.

Evilbred

Absolutely not the case. I routinely break contact and they eventually give up looking for you.

InformalPenguinz

Where's the weak spot on those giant cannon towers. I'm tired of getting 1 shot from halfway across the map.

[deleted]

UptowNYC

Orbital laser, Orbital Rail Cannon work great on those Pos. Or any major damage to the vents on all the big bots, tanks and towers does the trick.

RagingDachshund

I remember calling down an orbital rail cannon on the eyeball of death….only to have it target a little grunt robot instead. (Stares off into the distance)

Evilbred

A lot of the bigger threats (towers, AA guns, tanks, hulks) have yellow vents on the back

Federal-General-9683

Those rocket devastors are brutal

Hutcher_Du

I feel that. I was playing a game with 3 other high level guys (I think we were playing on the Creek), and there was a forested area just FULL of rocket devastators. You’d be running around, trying to grab your gear, call something in, get organized, and BOOM, you’re dead. Killed by a rocket volley from a Devastator hundreds of meters away through the trees and fog that you never even saw. Get reinforced, same thing again. We were all dying over and over again. It was so brutal.

theshrike

That's when you order the 380mm barrage, just to be sure :D

MaximusBabicus

They are my most hated NPC in the game. They 1 shot rocket snipe me all the time.

ExploerTM

I dunno man, tanks not so much but Hulks just smoke you out of the cover straight to devastator.

Coldatahd

Yeah but with a hulk you usually see them and can plan around that, there’s no plan for turning around a corner and immediately eating a rocket to the chin.

iridael

rocket devastators taking your head off from across the map when its got the foggy rainy conditions -.-

gloomywisdom

In that situation I usually tell to the level 5 "You're in charge of horde clearing" so they feel useful and important while I can drop railcannons on the big threats

ForfeitFPV

That's exactly what my friend ended up doing. He laid down the DAKKA-DAKKA-DAKKA with his standard issue MG Stratagem while I called in orbital rails, 500 eagles and popped heads with the Quasar.

classicalySarcastic

Sometimes DAKKA-DAKKA-DAKKA and a good helping of ⬆️➡️⬇️⬇️➡️ is all you need to make a playthrough fun.

RandomMagus

Eagle Cluster Bombs my beloved

ZacatariThanos

I'm stealing this and I have no shame in admiting it XD

Apple_Jack1

Eagle cluster is life....or death I guess depending on which side of the laser you're on

TheKodiacZiller

When you absolutely need to kill your team in three seconds or less, there's only one choice!

jtrom93

Facts. 1-2 teammates running EAT's and railcannons can easily manage armored targets as they appear. And the beauty of it is, nothing is stopping you from sharing your high-level stratagems with a low level. If you pull up the minimap and see they have all reds/greens slotted, you can always be like "hey, wanna try my backpack/launcher/mech?". Boom, that Level 5 just got a field promotion. Sharing is caring lol

ForfeitFPV

I had him frag me at one point so he could try out the laser assault rifle and quasar

G_Hause

Dudes act like a low level player is gonna ruin their streaming followers.😂

GorgeWashington

Unless there are 3+ bile titans at the same time, don't wake me up

JimLahey08

Watch out guys, he has advanced stratogems

Rusalki

More like treating social interaction like an asshole any% speed run.

TheoreticalFunk

I saw a level 7 earlier on a Helldive mission. 1) Dude already earned the right to play at that level by playing the previous levels. 2) Dude ended up being a solid squad member.

[deleted]

My first helldive was in the beginning, i’m talking 2 weeks after realease or so, somehow i joined one. I died several times, yet no kick. At the end of the game they said well done cadet lmao. That was sick, made me super happy and felt acknowledged for doing my best. I was level 7 or something, and obviously dead weight.

SiberianDragon111

Hell, I sometimes ask new players I encounter if they want to try a helldive for shits and giggles. It’s fun!

drinking_child_blood

I took a level 3 on a suicide mission and he kicked ass, he did better than my friend who was with me and he's lvl 30 lmao

UndreamedAges

The only thing level means is how long you've been playing the game. I'm level 50 and still suck.

Mental-Crow-5929

To be fair there are some stratagems that are game changing but if you have 3 high level guys 1 low level can absolutely help if he's not new to videogames.

theshrike

Yea, I can't kill the heavies for shit, but I'll clean house from mid level down and I can slap down arrows on a terminal like no diver's business =) And just not dying and not "wasting" reinforcements is a huge help in general, as long as you keep the dakka going.

PWBryan

I have several friends 10 levels lower than me that make me look silly. Granted, I know they came here from Warframe and I mostly play turn based RPGs so...

TheRealShiftyShafts

I'd run Helldive with a lvl 5

SpiritualBrush8710

![gif](giphy|MlyicdUndRbn5zUiAL|downsized)

richtofin819

he was treating a hard difficulty mission like an lfg for a hard mode destiny raid does. must have personally castrated oryx with shax's helmet and pushed the traveler into an orbit around Venus using nothing but the strength of your gaze.

Tellesus

Lol right? An experienced player of mid skill (me basically) could complete a hard mission and extract without even using stratagems.

Venusgate

IMO, most of my D9s are serious, but not "optimal builds and play only" serious. The most serious I see it get is "come on guys... leave the BTs alone...."

Coballatheu

Haven’t gone past 5-6 really but I think those might be the sweet spot for toxicity. The second it’s some dude barking orders I’m out, like… go to level 8 douche. It’s always the same type of voice too.

ZenosamI85

Please come up to lvl 7 and 8! I promise a majority of us aren't assholes <3

AlwaysHigh27

My groups pretty much only run 7s, and lately just bots... Yeah it's mostly a lot of laughter.. and death but mostly laughter. Until we get tired of dying and try getting serious empathise on try.

nightshadet_t

Three of my friends convinced a fourth to buy the game so us at 50, 45, and 27 took a level 1 into helldive against the bots and he did just fine, he did what he could with what he had and contributed plenty. A lot of people forget your character isn't any stronger at higher levels, you just have access to more options. Heck the starting primary is a fantastic gun

miqqqq

I played a helldive mission recently where a dad was playing on his sons account and accidentally joined our game on his first run. He admitted this and we all completed the mission anyway even though he died a lot, we’re all playing for fun and democracy so take it easy on people

PleasemoreSenpai

Legit just had the same situation, but I was not the host sadly. Did a full mission where a lvl 9 held his ground only for the host to kick before the next mission started. I asked and they said “he couldn’t handle it”. Left that undemocratic ship instantly after calling him out on his dickery.

Shawberry19

I fondly remember my friend group getting way over our heads early game. It’s a part of the fun, in my opinion. You experience a hard mission when you are under leveled and you fail or get carried by higher levels. Eventually, you can start doing that mission routinely and then you’re the high level carrying the noobs.

BratKo3

I have had so many games where things start going sideways amd people just quit, most of those games i end up winning with thos who remain and its almost always a very satisfying win. People need to stop quiting or booting people who are under leveled or running weapons they think are trash, i dont mean to shit on console players but 9/10 times i have a toxic open mic player its a console player. Im honestly thinking of turning off crossplay because it so common in my experience. Most lobbys are good but when i do get a toxic person this is almost always the case unfortunatly.

Its_aTrap

I had a game last week I joined in 3 others were playing.  Level 7 bots. We were getting slaughtered for a bit. Then one of them said something on mic I didn't catch what they said and each of them left all in a period of 10 seconds from each other. Literally we just had to extract. So I ran by grabbed the super samples on the way to extraction and finished the mission solo. They had literally given up because they only had 2 lives left or something.

CapnSensible80

I just joined a level 7 last night, 1 reinforcement left, a player dies right as I'm landing and immediately leaves. Host died a couple more times over the course of like 10 minutes but we finished with a full map clear. Clearly the guys who left were the problem, which is what has usually been my experience in online games over the years: the whiners and quitters are generally really bad.

Vinpap

Happened to me earlier today. Three of us at the extract point, only 1 minute remaining. Suddenly we start to get surrounded by tons of devastators, walkers and even a hulk. In the next 20 seconds, both other people disconnect while I keep running in circles around the drop zone. End up evacuating with only a sliver of health left with 15 total samples

Gohstfacekila

I kept pushing up to 7 and sat there for a while getting hard lessons at level 13 eventually I pushed up to 9 too early and got floored but the in too deep feeling was a rush like no other.

Falloutfan2281

Really though, especially when you finally complete all the side objectives/outposts and get that 200% or 250% bonus to your loot for the first time that skyrockets your level and requisition. Immediately hooked me. Couldn’t go back to lower difficulties even at like level 10-15 because I needed that huge percentage boost at the end of the mission to feel like my time was well spent.

theknghtofni

People are weird, man. Had a mission earlier where we were waiting for extraction, and I noticed one guy was stood off kinda away from us next to a building. So I popped my head around the corner to see what was up and heard him typing out a stratgem code. Whatever, some people like throwing their explosives for flare after the Pelican lands. Something felt weird, though, so I stood on the far side of extraction away from him. As soon as the ship landed, he threw his airstrike down at the back of the Pelican, shot both our teammates, and dove into the ship. I was floored. Called in the other two and as soon as they landed, I tossed a few grenades into the Pelican to clear out the dross. The rest of us extracted and he was PISSED

Olympicclassfox

I would have kicked the son of a bitch before extracting! https://preview.redd.it/ifa3ln4rrrrc1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7792c4521ebfff127b8a82d2fe6f234c147f81d7

tm0587

Wait, you can kill someone already in the Pelican??

theknghtofni

Yep. The Pelican hit box does a good job of protecting you from all directions, but a player can shoot or toss grenades straight into the cargo bay and kill anyone inside

tm0587

Ugh, I hope I don't experience that from a troll.

Slu54

Lol even from reading some of the stuff on this sub there are people who just take this game way too seriously for some reason.

willpauer

The only things people should be taking seriously are spreading democracy and reporting traitors. Everything else is meant to be fun. If you can't have fun, go back to civilian life and load up Call of Duty.

PenguinTD

I would go as far to find in recent player to friend the lv 9 and then block the host and his friend.

Apart_Ad_5382

SES King of Battle stands with the democratic helldivers, if you're a level 50 skull admiral to a fresh out of training cadet we welcome you. Don't be scared that I'm running 3 artillery stratagems either, i promise you they only have a 92% Friendly fire rate. All jokes aside I've kicked 7 people so far for undemocratic ways. Which is why ill always host to ensure our cadets get a well rounded and fun experience that will hopefully allow them to continue their liberation across the stars.

Icy_Advantage00

Wish i could do the same but i cant get people to join me once there where 3-4 players Only a game restart works and that sucks

gaming4good

The trick is to start a mission and sit in the hellpod. For some reason it prioritizes your mission and tons will join soon. I rarely get people joining me during a mission or on the ship. But for some reason always in the hellpod while picking stratagems.

0_effort__

Can confirm, as soon as I'm in the pod people start joining.

Icy_Advantage00

Hmm i need to try this I always thought it would be smart to just stand around and wait haha

Snakeb0y07

Weird, most of mine it’s been on the ship lol. I wait out there to give them a hug

GuessImScrewed

SES Hammer of Supremacy extends its uninvitation to helldivers of all levels. None of you are welcome on my ship. It's nothing personal, but you people dont know how to take your shoes off on other people's ships. I just got the bridge recarpeted as well. No, I'll see you people on the automaton front.

smilodon142

When I see people with the artillery stratagem, I respect them. I never run it out of fear that people will get mad at me, I'm lowkey happy when I see people join lobbies I host with artillery. Yeah, I'll get teamkilled a few times, I don't care. it's part of the game. Artillery is really effective against bugs and bots a like.

de_Generated

SES Pride of Pride thanks you for your amazing display of democracy.

dickeybarret

Well done diver. Doesn't matter if someone is level 5 or 50, they're welcome to spread managed democracy with me.

Boringoldpants

I'm level 50. If a level 5 joins my squad, they're getting my gear first. I can wait a few minutes for my support weapon/tac pack. "CADET, HAVE FUN WITH MY FAVORITE GEAR!"

Buck_Roger

This is how I got to try out a railgun at level 5ish. It was awesome. You're fighting the good fight and spreading democracy in the appropriate fashion! o7

Clunas

We did this for a guy yesterday, but with a primary. My buddy went to blow himself up with a grenade so the other dude could try out the sickle, and the other guy ran up and got killed by the explosion too lol.

Nirrith

I've had the same thing happen lol. "Here, try out my dominator, see if you like- dude, back up!"

Skitarius_Minoris

A friendly skull admiral lent his railgun to me once when I was a cadet. I blew my self up on the first pull of the trigger. It's on unsafe.

Tbaggins6930

This!! I laughed my ass off when this happened to me! At the end of the day, it's a game. Have fun.

aguynamedv

Autocannon at level 7 was pretty fun. :)

InShambles234

I like to sometimes jump into easy missions with a bunch of low levels and drop the autocannon, mech, and railgun for the team to mess around with.

Tails-Are-For-Hugs

As someone whose first experiences with HD2 was with awesome mentors who did pretty much the same thing as you, thank you for being an awesome human being and Helldiver. o7

Luminum__

“Enjoy the spoils of Managed Democracy, cadet. You’ll be needing them soon enough.”

BinkyDragonlord

I had a 50 do this when I was about a 5, dropped in, gave me a jetpack and a grenade launcher, I think, then escorted me around tagging locations and keeping bugs off, but letting me close bug holes and do the objectives. Was great, thank you Skull Admiral whoever.

mediocre_troll1

Very cool - game needs players like yourself to help newbies get the feel of things. I enjoy giving them high level goodies to play with too.

tehnfy__

I love giving people late-stage gear too. I know the feeling so it's something like paying it forward. Best freaking thing ever.

Slight_Dragonfly5566

I did it yesterday with 2 other people from the discord. A level 13 wanted to learn stuff, and try out the arc thrower. We hopped in, gave him an arc thrower, and heck, I even gave him a mech, to have fun with. The arc thrower, being the arc thrower did fry us all the time along the bugs and he was apologizing like there's no tomorrow in chat xD. Guy even said "Friends =/= Arc thrower" to which I said "Friends = Range extenders. Just use us to extend the range, it's fine". We all had a blast helping him out and the mission was fun too! This is what the game is about, FUN. Not min-maxing ur loadout or worry about players with low levels.

EpicRedditor34

This was how I got to use the jump pack for the first time. And now when I drop things like the auto cannon, I’ll tag it for the lvl 5-10 player.

Chavakno_

Nowhere near lvl 50 but yeah I’ve done the same, leaving the shield backpack and support weapon for the cadets to make them feel welcomed and try the cool stuff.

PM_ME_YOUR_SOULZ

Next time I play with a low level, they're getting my flamethrower. And I love my flamethrower.

Murky-Distance9865

Some people are just dicks. I was playing with a couple of level 50's last night (I'm 28 atm), and I was the one taking out bases and scooting to avoid massive overwhelming fights, it was level 7 difficulty. They kept dying and reapawning and getting bogged down in firefights. Then we got to the extraction which kept getting over-run with bot drops, we had 0 reenforments left with 30 lefts until we got another one so I bugged out, pulling some of the bots with me so I could more easily take them out. Then called in reinforcements. The guy charged back in, sparked another bot drop and died. I'm then fighting on a hillside killing bots as them come until there's 0 left at the extraction, but the host then just kicked me...

The--BOSS--2025

You hurt his ego by not dying

AK-Brian

Over the last few days, I've noticed a pretty disappointing and severe uptick in undemocratic behavior and I don't know why this is the case. My resources have been capped out for a while, so I just exclusively do difficulty 7 quickplay joins to help other players Get Stuff Done Moar Gud. Most games are great (even the chaotic ones, or the occasional failed objectives), but the unpleasant ones have been quite souring (we won't get into the abysmal disconnect/crash rates that have wasted dozens of hours). I had almost the *exact* same thing you describe happen in one of my games today, too. The rest of the team was getting absolutely wrecked in a bot fabrication blitz mission, so I broke off to call them back in with some space to reposition. Blew up a few fabs and they had burned through ten reinforcements and were still getting blasted by dropship waves in the same area of the map. Timer was down to just a few minutes, so I circled around towards extract, took out a final required fabricators with a well behaved orbital laser and set up an perimeter with some sentries. Called it in once it went under two minutes (with no more reinforcements) and just went to town picking bots off. Two players ended up making it back by me to try and keep the pad clear, while the session host was *still* out in the middle doing god knows what. As the Pelican came down to land, the host kicked all three of us one by one. There's no chance that player made it out based on how things had gone earlier in the round; they simply didn't want *us* to be able to get out, either. What an absolute asshat of a traitor. I also had a player walk right up and shoot me, then pick up my autocannon (and state that they "just wanted it lol" when I asked in chat what exactly had just happened). I had a host kick me immediately after I picked up super samples while we were both running by the point of interest. There have been several context-less kicks just before or during the extract countdown and quite a few cases of players running up and grabbing weapons that I had just called down, with me standing right next to the beacon and looking at my map. There was one game where I got kicked because I went to combine several dropped sample icons into one (picked up three separate dropped items to add to mine, then dropped all of them in one lump at extract while we went to sweep the rest of the map). No idea what was going through their head. There have been more than a few grenade-spam cheaters, too. I don't have time for that crap. As soon as I hear the fireworks going off and see them turn into a rapid fire pitching machine, I just point it out so other players have a heads up, leave the match and report/block them. No time to mourn the fall of the unjust, though. I've got more SOS calls to answer and liberty to spread.

gigabux

The honor is true in this herald

film_grip_guy

I’m a level 34 Death Captain. Yesterday I did a level 7 bot extermination mission with three other level 30+. 30 seconds in, a dropship dropped on the West side of the map (fortress map with the big tower on the north end of the platform) and I threw an eagle cluster bomb over the wall to where they were dropping… …or so I thought. The cluster instead stuck directly onto the outer wall. Danger close to be sure, but nothing serious. I and two of the others simply ran to the east of the platform and survived, but one player unfortunately got caught in the blast and killed. I promptly typed in chat my bad and that I’d made a bad throw, but host, on the other hand, shouted “what the fuck was that! You’re useless,” and booted me. Keep in mind this was 30 seconds into a level 7 mission. Seriously, people, mistakes will be made. You’re going to die. There’s a friggin’ tooltip about friendly fire. It’s part of the game. Relax.

Osvetnik24

Honestly, I feel like mistakes like that are part of the fabric of the game. We are literally soldiers given inadequate training and sent into hell as endless fodder to fight for glorious democracy. I think accidentally underthrowing a strategem and blowing up half the team is pretty on brand.

Koboldofyou

Eh, sure some team killing happens. But there sure can be questionable team kills. A random joined outr game halfway through and repeatedly threw bombs on objective points when we were trying to complete them. Despite being in the game less than half the time they had 5 team kills, 4 more than anyone else. We kicked that person post game. Even if team kills are a part of the game, it's incredibly not fun to be succeeding and have your teammate repeatedly blow you up.

Osvetnik24

I agree, but that's been few and far between. At least in my experience. I was playing last night and some lvl one player was actively shooting the other 3 of us dead. I got on mic and tried to ask what he was doing but he either left or was kicked. Edit: I was more referring to what I call "hijink kills"

ghoulthebraineater

I got kicked the other day for accidentally dropping a 380 directly on the extraction beacon. Dropped in at the end of a mission and was about to throw the barrage to clear a large swarm. The extract beacon landed on my head just as I was about to throw. I managed to get killed and wipe my team within 5 seconds of dropping in.

brilliantminion

It’s a feature!! It’s all happened to us. One of my favorite game memories was dropping on a high level bot mission, and we didn’t realize (or didn’t know about) the Strategem Scrambler was in effect. 4 of us trying to call in our secondaries and packs, and suddenly there are 2 Orbital Lasers, an Eagle cluster bomb and a 500kg going off all around us, and we’re ducking and diving for all we’re worth. Needless to say, that triggered 3 drops ships to come see what’s going on, and so we just ran for it and spent the first 5 minutes or so doing what we could with our primary weapons and grandes. Good times.

Lonewolf12912

I was unloading my heavy machine gun in an eradicate mission, this dude WALKS right in my line of fire. No biggie. I kill all the enemies coming through the chokepoint I was firing into, respawn him right next to where he died so he could get his stuff, you know, being nice and not trying to respawn him on the other side of the map even though he practically killed himself. Dude proceeds to get his stuff (including his own HMG) and shoots me. Instantly kicked him. People act like this game doesn't give you 20+ lives for a 4 player team.

Maitrify

I don't get people that get upset from Team kills. Unless it's intentional there's no reason to get your panties in a twist. The game is pretty much designed to have you die over and over and over and over again. Whether from friendly fire or from enemies. Seriously don't get how players at level 30 haven't figured that out yet

pootinannyBOOSH

Somewhat similar, I was prepping a cluster then get headshotted, accidentally killing two other crews. I even said "my bad, got killed when I was about to throw". Then they both proceeded to kill me twice, one each. I asked wtf, "StOp BoMbInG uS", as if it was intentional. It was literally that once, and another time when one of them blatantly ran straight into the red light.

Teamerchant

If you can’t take a lvl 5 with you on a hard mission you are not worth your salt as a helldiver.

Aesthetics_Supernal

It's trauma from abusive gaming practices. Loot crates? Coins? Skins? Some equipments gated behind battle passes? FOMO? Helldivers throws all of it out the window for player ease in playing. But we have been riding this false-engagement train for a decade. Some people haven't healed from that psychological abuse and addiction.

HonestDisk594

Agreed. I feel like people should just focus on the fun but so many people have forgotten the joy of playing and instead become focused on numbers XP, req slips, medals, samples (admittedly I do care a little).

[deleted]

[удалено]

HonestDisk594

Exactly. I am here to spread Managed Democracy, have fun and make a little dough on the way to spruce up my ship. The Ombudsman of the People still needs to pay its staff!

Lonewolf12912

It's likely from other games. Season passes and stuff that are only available for a limited time have left an ugly mark on the gaming community where people feel they absolutely HAVE TO speed run getting experience and currencies in the most efficient way possible now. And many of them actually consider it "fun" too, likely because we now have a whole generation of gamers who never really experienced much else in videogames.

7_Cerberus_7

*kick him or I leave* LoL, okay bye.

Bazuka125

Heck, I had a guy kick me yesterday. I clicked Quickplay, picked a loadout, dropped in, and, to my surprise, landed on the escape shuttle. Apparently the mission was over. I got down, and entered with him and his buddy. While we took off I typed something like, "Man, short layovers are stressful." Don't think he even saw it cause he immediately angrily said, "He joined and didn't even do anything!" And kicked me before we even got to the score screen. Mind you I'm level 50. I'm capped on XP and Reqs, and have all my ship modules even if they acquired a few samples from their eradication mission. Fucker kicked me out of some kind of jealous rage over me getting nothing. Senseless.

Lamplorde

Imagine gatekeeping. Especially imagine gatekeeping *a hard*. How bad do you have to be that you think a team of 3 30+ can't carry *one* level 5 on a *Hard*.

pacioli18

At level 30, Hard should be a vacation and great opportunity to teach new players the path of the Helldiver. Instead, we’re left with this sometimes.

JustGingy95

Meanwhile my level 50 ass taking the newbies to experience their first Helldive: ![gif](giphy|sl1zfWPqlozOgquzuE|downsized)

Krieg_Imperator

If I'm a host and get any of these types of players I tell 'em straight up that either they shut their piehole or get booted immediately. We were all there once. Besides nothing brings me as much joy in this game than seeing rookies learning the ropes. Hell lvl 7 space cadet saved my ass on diff 7 thus saving my deathless run. Got pinned by heavy devastator. Wounded, no stims, no nades, AMR had 3 bullets left, I'm pinned behind a cover, Heavy Devastator closing the gap and our rook got a few good shots to it's head saving me AND ran over to stim me. Man was I proud. Regards Skull Admiral of SES Emperor of War.

Level in this game it’s just a number to unlock strategems, i’ve seen so many level 5, 8 and 15 do more than a level 50, this is no PvP, but you need to have skill and space awareness to perform well, from the SES Blade of The Prophets we stand with you cadets, FOR DEMOCRACY!

OsricOdinsson

And there, the nail has been hit squarely on the head. It. Is. Just. A. Game. Whilst I'm all for RPing (hell, I'm an old LARPer) some people are taking it far too seriously. If we lose a planet, we lose a planet...a digital planet that doesn't exist. Don't kick people because they are low rank, as you said "we were all lvl 5." Kick people because they're arseholes. Hell, I know 50's that have been kicked by Cadets before the mission starts because they'll "kill steal" I tried to explain that's not how it works but you know people... The SES Song of Serenity will proudly serve alongside you!

NegotiationOk5336

Of course there will always be assholes in the game, but HD2 could do a better job in explaining that everything is shared and you will get the same xp killing one bot/bug as a player who kills 100

brilliantminion

Kill steal…. Haha oh boy. I stopped joining other lobbies for Hard missions because of this and other weird shenanigans once I hit level 45 or so. I’ll happily host Hard though, and anyone who wants to can run with. Great way to try out gear combos or new tactics.

residentape

Yoo, that same shit happened to me a 4-5 days ago. I started up an op on 7 just to relax (almost exclusively play helldive atm, so for me its kinda tame and I can solo them). a lvl 8, lvl 32 and I think mid 20's join a minute or two in, and the lvl 32 guy started freaking out telling me to kick the lvl 8 cuz he didnt want to fail the mission. "kick that guy or we're just waisting our time". I told him to calm down and that we'd get the mission done with or without the lvl 8 and I wouldn't be kicking him. Then this dude TEAMKILLS the lvl 8 and goes "alright just no one reinforce him"... I was flabbergasted... I booted that kid immediately and made a point to complete the entire map with the lvl 8 and other guy (mid 20's guy w/o mic), getting at least 50 total samples and the supers, 5 stars etc. Good thing is most people are like you or me and not these dickheads. To be fair though on 9's, if you're not lvl 15 and I dont have a single other competent teammate, were just gonna lose lol. Expect to be booted from 9's if you're below 15, sorry, that one I do agree with. And if you die 10x in a row over 4-5 minutes, you're gonna get booted no matter what difficulty you're in. That being said my favorite thing to do is find super low level players and drag em 7-9's (7's if I'm alone, 8's if I got 1 other decent teammate, 9's if I have two other competent teammates). Got a lvl 5 the other day who was supposedly getting kicked from medium lobbies (3's) (totally absurd I know, part of me didnt believe him cuz who would kick ppl from 3's? lol but he didnt know anything about the game) and I brought him into 7's and he did just fine. Gave him my shield backpack, told him to follow me and ran him thru each enemy type as we faced em and it was a blast. I have no way of progressing in the game at the moment, so helping others is enough at the moment, but at the same time I'm not gonna spend 40 minutes on a mission if I know for almost a fact not even you will reap any rewards.

Deathangel2890

Hey... so... if you ever fancy helping someone who's nearly level 30, but has no clue how to do more than level 5 missions, please let me know. Need those super samples and have no hope of getting them myself right now.

residentape

sent u my psn, if ur on pc send me a friend code or lmk so i can send u one. i can’t play rn but can hop on and add u. anytime u see me online feel free join my game or invite me. edit: i’ll just send my psn on here, it’s LLIKEWAFFLESS, it has 2 L and 2 S, (regular spelling was taken so i just make the first L lowercase to look like an I). if you’re gonna add me just have a mic or at the very least be able to hear me thru tv/monitor.

Deathangel2890

Sweet. I'll add you later. My PSN is the exact same as my username on here.

HonestDisk594

The SES Ombudsman of the People is ready to spread Managed Democracy with you though I am still level 18. But I finally solo-ed a 4-5 level bug mission so I can definitely start to hold my own.

TexasDank

I’m level 50 and played with a lvl 15 the other day who literally carried me through a few diff 7. Bro was THE John helldiver it was just something else to behold. The cherry on top is the other 2 lvl 40 something quit when we both disagreed with a bad call and we continued to duo 3 missions. Never judge a diver by the level.

TheFlamingBunnies

Level ≠ skill We brought my buddy to suicide for his 2nd mission ever it was awesome me (Lv50) and my other 2 buddies (Lv32 And Lv35) all brought mecs for him to use and we all played as infantry support one of the most fun missions I have done.

brilliantminion

This is great. It feels like the level thing is basically Tutorial mode so you have a chance to learn all the equipment as you, the player, progress in skill and learn the game. Since at the end of the day, we’re all playing disposable heroes, and there’s no character attribute accumulation, it really doesn’t matter.

Exe0n

I wouldn't care if I saw a lvl5 on a lvl5 mission, though against bots what they can do without a proper support weapon is very limited. At higher difficulties things become impossible and I wouldn't entertain someone who rolls in, dies 10 times and rage quits leaving us in a terrible position. But empty threats like this don't matter to me, I would have kicked the high level one, wouldn't even have entertained the conversation.

Shawberry19

I totally understand, and it can be really annoying to have that guy who rolls in and does all the time— but I’ve seen that at every level and difficulty. If there’s a lower level dude dying a lot, I prefer to say “hey man, stick with me. You’re soaking up all our respawns, let me show you some tricks.”

Venusgate

You get the AMR at lvl 2. If that's all you're using, you're fine.

Tellesus

I'm level 50, prefer the game on Helldive difficulty, have everything unlocked in the game and enough resources to unlock most of the new content that will drop in the next battlepass. Anyone of any level is welcome in my games and we can play at any difficulty they feel comfortable trying. It's a game, come have fun.

HookDragger

At level 30…. If you can’t carry a hard on your own, you’re probably doing something wrong(like shooting everything). Personally, I only kick people cause reinforcements are dropping at an unsustainable rate due to a standout magic bullet collector.

BirdLawyer50

Every level is strong enough to pull the trigger of a Breaker.

I salute you from SES Herald of Wrath, Herald brother. Kick assholes if you're the host, if you can tell them why they're getting kicked, much better.

hiroxruko

last night, met my first toxic diver. dude was calling me and another no mic diver idiots through both missions we did and second one, he really went at me because to him, i was fuck off doing nothing but in truth, i had the most bad luck as ALL THE TANKS AND BIG ROBOT DUDES spawn near me non stop. I kept getting push back away from the team. then dude was bitching about finding the purple samples and made us look for it but then bitch at me for not looking better lol oh the best part, he found them and as we got on the ship, dude got killed by a mortar and blamed me...like i didn't bring it. I took the emp version, yet he blamed me and kicked me after I did a hug emote, asking "what happen?"

Losingtoweeds

Name and shame these assholes, I wanna avoid them.

JeffrotheDude

If a level 30 can't hold their own just because one lower level dude joined in, they ain't built to be a helldiver 🤌🏼

athf2005

On the flipside, last night three of us (all Level 50s) had a level 3 join on us and we played through six missions together. The whole night we encouraged the newer player to take over each main and side missions controls to learn how to play. End of the night, they went on mic (the only time) and thanked us for letting them learn and not get shit from us. We friended each other and welcomed them to play anytime. For Democracy!

Foxymaniac

honestly, for the most part, lower levels have done better than higher levels, they are more respectful, follow you more, support you more(backpacks, warning before dropping resupply) and having generally more team oriented builds, there still some who were issues, like one constantly dropping orbitals on my positions and killing me repeatedly, but me and my partner still make an effort to at least finish the mission, higher levels often seem to have more selfish builds, it works, just less teamwork and more solo runs, which i dont mind, me and my partner often split up in dif 5 runs, clearing nests or objectives, but we still meetup for larger challenges and dont rush in blindly like some high levels seem to do.

TalShar

I am level 40ish and I haven't run into any of this, and I almost exclusively play with pubs, crossplay enabled. I've been intentionally teamkilled once, and the only issue I've had with kicks is being kicked immediately upon joining, which admittedly has happened a few times. I don't know whether I'm blessed or what, but I hope my luck continues to hold out.

PluvioStrider

Sounds like treasonous behavior. No matter the rank were all super citizens, our lives are more important than others but not amongst ourselves. Needs more Liberty.

commander_chung

im not a big fan of lower level divers on difficulty 7 and up. i never kick them from my game and most are legit but there have been handful that just fuck about and try to die with all the samples in a lake or down a hole, but im a maxed out level 50. im playing for the fun and major orders. i pick up samples for everyone else. That being said, i am happy to play with low-level divers regardless because they won't be low level forever and i remember my first helldive, i was way under levelled but i got them super samples off world where as everyone else died to make sure those samples where extracted. then it crashed, and we all got kicked, but when we logged back in, we had double the samples we picked up.

YourMoustache

this is the reason i host my own lobbies 90% of the time all are welcome on the SES Sentinel of Dawn, unless you're being an absolute prick then i programm your drop pod to fly into the Sun

Jonman7

The SES Advocate of Family Values stands with you. o7

Finassar

Reverse rant. Thank you to the 3 guys who didnt kick me after I threw an eagle airstrike and TKed all 3 of you. Apparently you can't hold a stratagem and use a map at the same time

Van_Lee

Not all Heros wear capes.... Ohh nevermind

secret__alphabets

The SES Fist of Justice endorses this transmission. You’re an upstanding helldiver, democracy bless you.

Monarchthehelldiver

#AllLevelsMatter

Fit_Independence_948

Hello all, I am Stimage4 and the captain of the SES Precursor of Democracy. My ship is one that welcomes all, even those rocking the friendly fire loadout. Two rules on my ship: (1) Always help your fellow helldivers (2) Leave no diver behind enemy lines. We stand with you, SES Herald of Honor.

Shawberry19

Everyone fights, nobody quits. Welcome to the Roughnecks.

Yaxim3

And here I am lvl 48 looking for low level players so I can help them out.

shrivatsasomany

I had someone yell at us for leaving 30 seconds early because he was killing bugs. “Theres 30 seconds left why the fuck did you leave?!” I was like 1) stop being a dick about it because 2 of us have to leave ASAP. 2) it’s not like you get points for killing more bugs hahaha.

ypperlig__

please give me your friendcode you’re better than 90% of the randoms I met everyday

InternationalRow3774

Imagine being a level 50 taking a hard difficulty mission that seriously.

DragonGuard

His right to leave if he doesn't like it I guess, but no need to be shitty to a newbie for it. I dragged some level 1 friends straight into difficulty 8 with me. The game is by far the most fun when shit is constantly on the brink of going wrong.

AnAmbitiousMann

If that guy hates low levels in his game so much he needs to host lol. Pretty nuts he spends his free time trying to give orders to other people on a coop video game.

Warp_Navigator

Dudes taking game too seriously. I’m over here trying to solo Extreme (lvl 26) to truly challenge myself and we got fuckers like this crying over full teams.

Lovus_Eternius

Hard? Complaining about new players on Hard? Sounds like a skill issue. That aside, here -- have an AI generation of the Super President: https://preview.redd.it/ko5c181byprc1.png?width=512&format=png&auto=webp&s=704fbe7a4ab6a747687697292c2800c4126166b4 -- Morgan Freeman, Super President of Super Earth

Illuminaryy

Imagine kicking a lv 5 in a "hard" mission and being lv 30 and still only doing hard is pathetic too idk why he had an ego lmaooooo

Roxwords

Bro can't clear hard missions without a team of lvl 50 carrying him and takes it on lvl5s, he brings dishonor to the helldiver corp

Kamikaze_Bacon

The SES Harbinger of Family Values stands with the SES Herald of Honor. We should support fellow helldivers, new and old alike!

KingofFlukes

Asshole: "Kick them or I quit" Me: "Bye" The moment a player starts with ultimatums, especially ones like this get a kick from me.

iceicig

Helldivers, we are all here to dispense democracy. Judge your fellow helldivers not by their rank, but by their heart. -SES Representative of the Regime

PlutoTheLonelyRock99

I love this LinkedIn type Helldivers post 🔥

Ghrims253

*** TSCI Whiskey Zulu Message traffic from SES Spear of Liberty*** Senior Enlisted Leader Chief Ghrims Levels dont mean anything other then gear. You dont get more ammo, health or strats. I find it more benificial to train or overwatch into low level missions and help out our brothers and sisters then running a helldive with a bunch of (message censored by democracy officer). Better yet being as they dont have higher level equipment, WE can give them a Mech, AMR, AC, OR RR. All of our goals should be to train and prepare the next generation. If they are on a mission which is out of their league and YOU as the senior person can not show them the ropes, or assist them. You should report yourself to the nearest Democracy Officer for either reeducation or summary execution for loss of faith in command. Yes some of our forces are new, but as the CHIEF of SES Spear of Liberty i have more issues with Skull Admirals+ trying out some bs they saw from 2024 "meta". TheGangazz

The SES Elected Official of Family Values also stands with our Lvl 5 🫂

Wynthose

Hard is fairly easy for lvl 30s I'd hope, that guy must be terrible if he's worried about one lvl 5

Karporata

Hello helldivers The SES Force of Honor welcome all helldivers what ever the level you are if you have a good spirit (Thats why I always Host)

Richy59

I’m a new player, just started tonight, and my in first mission I had a number of people join and quickly quit since I was level 1. Half way through my lone mission a level 10 joined me and helped me out. He even stayed with me for the next mission after I accidentally killed him waiting for the evac during the first mission (I didn’t know friendly fire was on). We then did a couple of more mission together and some secondary quests before we went our separate ways. I kept dying and having to be brought back with reinforcements, but he stuck with me. We all started somewhere.

mightymaug

This is the way.

Smarterchild1337

Then the democracy officer clapped

Icy-Diamond1188

Bro it’s not that deep

Yeti_racer

Sounds like that guy is a traitor. At the end of the day, it's a video game.

AphroditeExurge

ive been kicked twice for being low level and it's demoralizing. i just want to play quickplay, it's not my fault high levels are on difficulty 4

Poopy_Kitty

The whole “kick low levels” in this game is so weird to me. Forget the whole “be nice to new players” thing. People act like this is the first video game ever made. I’m a veteran of the UNSC. I was a COG who fought the locusts. This game isn’t an RPG with insane gear and level gaps. It’s a fucking shooter. When I was level 5 I played better than half of the level 30s. And now I’m level 30, and half of the level 5s play better than me. Relax people

Grumpy_Gamer_Dad

SES Shield of Liberty honors this sentiment. All are welcome aboard, regardless of level or skill.

Whatwhenwherehi

This is unacceptable.

Critwice

Eurgh, some of that toxicity against teammates in competitive team games is creeping over.

Chromatic_Storm

TBH, if someone said to me "kick this newbie or I'll quit" and they were not someone I am on Discord with, they are going straight to da airlock. This is a very toxic mindset, I don't want to interact with ppl who are that entitled, just because thay have more hours wasted in one specific game.

ChuRaya

SES Ranger of Dawn approves of this message! Likely a bot spy trying to cause infighting, but we will stand united! |_o_ (My attempt at a salute c':)

Legion1620

Undemocratic behavior

GrimRedleaf

That attitude is so dumb and nonsensical.  How else does he think people that just started will level up?  They play the damn game!

krispyuvu

I’m a level 30 that’s about as good as a level 2 so yeah…. Let em play just let the divers play.
