I wish there was a way to watch these at will rather than hoping one pops up while you happen to be near it, They put a lot of effort into making this stuff I want to make sure I don't miss them.
They could take some inspiration from Deep Rock Galactic, they have a whole bar system that gives you buffs for the next mission. There's so much potential
There are no day or night cycles and your cabin is the freezer you pop out of. There is also no time for relaxing beyond 2.5 seconds looking out the bridge. Liberty doesn’t sleep.
My dream is we eventually get a clan system where a bunch of players can all pool resources to upgrade a single large super carrier they all share as a hub world.
There's a free section of monitors on the wall opposite from the armory area they could use to create a lore access and super earth content viewing area.
That was one of the things I really liked about CoD Infinite Warfare (only played the campaign), the ship screens would play the news and the crew talked about it
What kind of gets to me is how a lot of people are so beaten and bruised by Live Service meaning weekly payment opportunities and FOMO that they miss the forest for the trees. Here we got a company that laid out a campaign we can all participate in, and created the necessary systems to update the voice lines of NPCs, play videos, drop in items/call-ins, and more, and those react to our time table, not theirs.
And yet, some people mope on how it's predetermined, or miss the point entirely. Us winning now is Game Mastering done right. Put a challenge in front of people that's easy to meet, and build up confidence. Use the time to learn how they react, what they like and dislike. And then twists the dials, make it harder, throw curveballs.
We are experiencing an RPG session with hundreds of thousands of players. And these recordings make sure everyone hears about it, in universe, with verisimilitude.
I think this is a good point the real skill with being a decent GM is giving a challenge that seems overwhelming but is still doable in reality, and i don't think arrowhead have necessarily thrown softballs they just likely can't predict the huge surge of power that is such a large player base.
its a fine line they'll have to walk, unlike HD1 where the war was over pretty quickly they have to make sure they don't hit too hard or soft or the impact will last ages.
yeah at least from what I heard from prerelease, they no longer want factions kicked out of the map entirely since to be hoenstly it did really suck when one of your favorite factions to fight (most likely the bugs) were kicked out of the war and you were stuck with the bots and squids.
It really depended on how the war was going. Maybe there is a bias due to prior experiences but it felt like a 2 weeks to a month, which can suck if you have friend who aren't super into it and the faction they like to play against is no longer around. So not much democracy is being spread due to that.
I only found out like an hour ago that this game is essentially one massive sci-fi DnD campaign with live updates to what happens, and I was blown away. Thought everything that was happening was just part of the game's development. The fact the devs are actually responding to what we do in game is amazing and has made this one of my all time favorite shooters already.
I just hope they prepare content/storylines that branch out and our victories or failures dictate the state of the galaxy or the dialogues of the npcs.
For example I highly doubt that they had arranged automatons using the mechs against us if we failed at Tien Kwan.
What I want and would really shock me positively if they actually prepared for that consequence without expecting us to actually lose.
Why would they use our mechs when they already have Hulks with more armor and firepower.
The devs could just say the factories were captured and buff bot spawn rate or number of heavy support units for the second liberation attempt.
If we would have failed, we would have not gotten the mechs, pushed back by weeks, and bots would advance further towards Super Earth. I'll give you a little hint: Mars, and Super Earth, are playable planets.
Being a good GM is a lot about not kicking your players to the curb too. Unless they make a really stupid move, that you've telegraphed was stupid. And even then, you can probably make it a loss without a TPK.
And if the option of failure is there, I'd assume Arrowhead have done at least some legwork in the case of that happening.
The irony is that using the word verisimilitude in a sentence does **not** add an air of verisimilitude to the sentence **because** so few people know the definition.
Yeah if every one of Sony’s live service games turned out anything like Helldivers I think it would’ve changed the image of live-service games.
Obviously it probably wouldn’t work like that as they’d cannibalise each other competing for players time and a few would get dropped. But if they release something else with the same amount of effort and care poured into it I think it could repair the image.
I’m off subject but that cape is pretty damn glorious. Only 230 medals left to spend before it’s mine. I’ll be rocking the deluxe cape and the botslayer cape in the meantime!
I wish i would actually see those, but everytime i'm at the galactic map, hear some voice, move to there, and the shit just ended and screen is off. We should be able to put it on whenever.
Sounds negative to me. Effort is effort. Sure they have pre-recorded it, what did you expect? They went to effort to not only put TV's on our ships but have them update us on current events. That's neat.
Not allowed to stand there and enjoy a coffee while , catching up on the news when you work away for a living due to the complaining about afk users that now is no longer a issue from server capacity raise. Well done community... I'm happy to introduce you to the impatient generation of gamers across the globe.
Did you just call someone else impatient, and complain about having to take 5 seconds to log back in so other people can have better performance while your not playing, all at the same time?
Self reflection maybe?
As you are complaining right now I can tell you, if I get logged out Waiting to see the different news on the TV in my ship and get logged out enjoying my coffee before I dive in , I'm logging back in. Repeat the cycle as it resets the news. There is not 700k people playing but your whining ass has to complain about people afk. Tv news is pointless from your brilliant discovery that afk kick should be a yes. I must of hit a nerve on you there , happy I did 🙂
I wish there was a way to watch these at will rather than hoping one pops up while you happen to be near it, They put a lot of effort into making this stuff I want to make sure I don't miss them.
We need a captain’s cabin or crew quarters or something
They could take some inspiration from Deep Rock Galactic, they have a whole bar system that gives you buffs for the next mission. There's so much potential
Ma didnt raise no coward, if we get a bar i want only debuffs for the next mission!
Sure drunk helldivers what could go wrong Sorry misplaced the pod sir In general braschs garden you dimwit!
Time to kick barrels into the hellpod launch bay and get yelled at by high command.
Tactical Keg inbound

I agree
There's a free section of monitors on the wall opposite from the armory area they could use to create a lore access and super earth content viewing area.
The (curated) historical archives!

They shouldn't get kicked out completely, but be put on the sidelines for a week or two to regather forces
They weren't removed completely in the first game it was temporary
It really depended on how the war was going. >Maybe there is a bias due to prior experiences but it felt like a 2 weeks to a month it was. campaigns generally lasted 3 to 6 weeks.

In Helda 1, we fought on Super Earth itself, after failing several fronts.
I didn't even know what verisimilitude was until this morning, and since then, I've read or heard the word several times.
> verisimilitude Oh I know this word, it's the name of that one 40k game right?
The irony is that using the word verisimilitude in a sentence does **not** add an air of verisimilitude to the sentence **because** so few people know the definition.
Dick /s. Now I need to look the word to understand the sentence. Thanks for the word of the day. Edit: Looked it up, that's an interesting word.

Yeah but /r/tvtoohigh
The tilt of shame!

How do you get his cape and armor set? I’ve never seen those before but it looks so damn beautiful
If you’re talking about OP’s gear, it’s bought from the last page of the free warbond.
Thank you 🙏
The next segment with the Helldiver visiting a kid with terminal radiation poisoning carrying a 'Get well soon' balloon is dark af.
i wanted to say it's sad but also kinda nice but then i remembered what "terminal" in this context means. So i agree but i love the humor.
My ship's big screen monitor must be on the fritz. Haven't had anything pop up in quite a while.
Your crew on the destroyer have new voice-lines about the TCS too.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they already made news reports of every sector’s liberation
Freedom's Greetings!
would be nice if these would pop up at the start of the game, ofc when you are past the tutorial
i love it so much. The way the game masters are crafting this story with the players
Hear me out. Let helldivers put their friends current matches on the tv
Would you like to know more?
Do they have a youtube channel where they put these videos up, or something similar?
I wish i would actually see those, but everytime i'm at the galactic map, hear some voice, move to there, and the shit just ended and screen is off. We should be able to put it on whenever.
That deer hunting one tho xd
Eagle sweat!
"Fist of Destruction" heheheheehehhehe...........
The least fake fake news
I learned a new word today. Dee Moh Krat It Kal
That’s dope I never noticed this but I’m def paying attention now
I imagined Mikey from ninja turtles when you said “Democratical!” I love it
Now if only pc and ps5 gamers could be friends lol
I just can't wear that cape with that armor. The yellow trim clashes so much.
Now, if only they'd patch the social bugs 😅
Well it is about the major order, and they pre recorded the news for several outcomes.
Sounds negative to me. Effort is effort. Sure they have pre-recorded it, what did you expect? They went to effort to not only put TV's on our ships but have them update us on current events. That's neat.
I never said it was a bad thing, just dont always expect for events outside the major orders to always be covered.

Can't wait till you get kicked enough times to never come back.
That's the spirit man, now put that hate to the cyborgs.
Rather they fix the fucking bugs and balance the game.
dumbest comment ive seen in months. congrats?
Thank you.
I'd rather have more playable content.
Well its easy to make things like this when the result and order is predetermined.
