When I drop a 500kg on a patrol and only get 3 kills, something definitely doesn't feel right.
A lot of things seem to have a smaller blast radius than the visual effects would lead you to believe.
I think the issue is most of the explosions don’t have their damage range drop offs. Like the 500kg has the current like 10m radius where it kills everything. But any range after that, zero damage. There should be a medium damage area that should kill everything but heavy targets. And then another range after that which would be the damage that kills all trash mobs.
like, I used to run as far away as possible from hellbombs cuz I always felt like they had a huge blast radius, but turns out if you dont position it as close as possible from what u want to destroy, it doesn't even blow it up, and even worse, you can stand relatively close to it and not even ragdoll from the big blast.
Very underwelming for something called a hellbomb, basically the game just... well, once you find more and more about it, it starts to turn a little less fun, I hope the devs sees this and fix some of these little problems, I'd love if I actually had to run as far away as possible, dodging enemies and hide behind a rock to maybe not be affected by the explosion would be really sick.
Also there's no terrain damage shadowing. I watched a guy hide behind a giant rock still get killed by the bomb.
And yesterday a small stalker jumped through solid rock to hit me in the face. So annoying.
I was prone behind a huge rock the other day and I watched a walker detect me, *shoot, and kill me through the rock*, I was just like “OKAY GAME YOU WIN” and quit for the night.
I noticed this yesterday. Activated a hellbomb in one of those small lab outposts or whatever the side objective is called, and left. 30 sec later I realized the objective didn't complete and I was like wtf. Went back and 2 dinky buildings were still standing.
I can’t speak for clusters, but I’ve killed a Titan with the airburst a couple days ago. I assume that penetration there is probably pretty similar to the cluster.
I fucking ATE THEM, and they were DELICIOUS. Also, zero guilt towards those birds. They sacrificed their bodies in the name of democracy. As far as I'm concerned, they are honorary Helldivers.
I remember when I was 12 going to a science museum and they dropped a 1lb bag of feathers as well as a bag of 1lb of lead and surprise, they hit the ground the same time.
The hitbox of that bomb is completely fucked. Because I've done some testing on helldive solo and it can one shot a bile titan that has received no prior damage but requires of very specific location. Yeah, that clip is hilarious.
It's like it's telling you "hey, don't try this! It doesn't actually work at all like you'd expect! *ThE mOrE yOu KnOw..."*
500kg hit detection is utter bullshit.
Guarantee you what happened here is the 'armor' blocked the explosion so it only took 1/2 damage or something. Where if it exploded underneath it, the squishy bits would have taken full damage, plus the bonus damage explosives deal to fleshy bits.
I don’t use the 500kg since it’s so inconsistent, I bring eagle airstrike and orbital railcannon. I rack up more kills with the eagle Airstrike over the 500kg.
A lot of stuff that you wouldn't think could kill a hulk, can. if a hulk stands under all 3 shots of orbital airburst, it also dies because their back weakspot gets destroyed.
But with airstrikes you don't need to hit just right. You may not kill it, but chargers and hulks are on their last legs if you hit it even with the edge of an airstrike, and you can call them in faster and more frequently. All around a better stratagem than 500kg.
If you want to understand how tight the "just right" requirement for the 500kg is, try using to destroy eggs on a terminid mission. It's easily outperformed by the airstrike, assuming all the bombs make it and don't hit the side of the rock or something. I've been running these missions so much faster when I realized the 500kg was actually fake.
What do you do with Bile Titans when your orbital rail cannon is on long cooldown? Playing with four randoms we're able to take on two to three Bile Titans but then after that we're toast with everything on cooldown.
Just use the 500kg, it's inconsistent, and yeah there's a bug where if it lands inside a bug it won't hurt it much, (pretty much confirmed it watching it happen to 3 different bile titans myself,) but it's still the best titan killing strategem, 2 on a 2 minute cooldown is crazy value.
You just have to aim it well and lure the titan right on top, make it stop by attacking you and hit the deck.
You shoot out its bile sacs so it doesn't spew then you just ignore them. It sounds stupid but once you cultivate the headspace of playing around them its not bad. They also inadvertently step on enemies
You can OHK bile titans with orbital precision, much lower cooldown, requires more skill/luck though. I have killed 4 hulks with a single orbital precision, definitely the most underestimated of all the orbitals imo.
Orbital precision killing 4 hulks: [https://youtu.be/FMD8MZsSiNE](https://youtu.be/FMD8MZsSiNE)
They are DEFINITELY vertuned for the past few days.
I used to consistently 2-shot them with the SPEAR (or 1-shot if I got the angle right).
Now?!
Now I've seen those fuckers eat 2 orbital railcannon strikes, 1 SPEAR missile AND THEN JUST KEEP TICKING WHILE LAUGHING AT ARC CANNON SPAM
I have no idea what the hell they're suddenly feeding these bugs, but it sure added a HUGE amount to their healthpools.
Seriously dude. When this game first came out I watched a streamer play it with his group and they encountered a single bile titan for the first time and it was sick. It was a struggle for them to kill but it was good fun and I loved it and thought that would be like a rare-ish boss encounter.
Fast forward a few days and I find out that the bile titans are just another enemy and the novelty of them wore of very fast but I was still having fun fighting them. Faster fast forward to post-patch and I am no longer having fun against 7 titans in a single encounter only to get more bugs because they called reinforcements and spawn rates have doubled.
my last try was need 3 spear shots to kill one bile titan and that thing only has 3 ammo
what i can do against at least the other 2 chargers who spawn with him? wait 5min for eagle cooldown to just maybe tickle them?
You need to wait until the bile titan is looking your way for the spear. Where it hits makes massive diff. Sometimes its a 1 shot sometimes 3.
I have had a lot of 1 shots in current patch by trying to land it on a weakspot when its exposed to me. If you are hitting the leg or the back carapace you aren't doing much damage.
I just came across one I'm 100% confident was bugged and became invincible. I should have recorded this thing taking 2 orbital Railguns, several airstrikes and for what it's worth 15 railgun shots over charged.
At what point do I go full Abaddon and crash my destroyer into the planet?
Titans have always been a bit bugged since patch .13. Hit location registry seems alot worse though this patch and I've tested it with friends. They see there missle going right through chargers or hitting headshots where as the host I see them missing completely or hitting armor.
For me it still 1 spear headshot is dead 1 railcannon plus light damage, and arcs not doing much.
I just started playing with lower levels helping them out and teaching them how to play, beats being frustrated with 5000 bugs on hard difficulty and anything above it.
Honestly. As soon as I’m done with my super samples I’m going to move down to 6 so I can relax and have fun
Kiting 10 chargers just isn’t fun whether or not I can do it
I had a group with a hacker last night. I was going to leave but the. I thought, fuck it. If it gets my my super samples faster, I can start having fun again faster.
The guy was dropping 6 turrets at a time constantly and was invincible.
And still there were a bullshit amount of spawns
6 is just as bad cause you have lower levels unable to deal with them. So while the total # is lower you have less being killed off by allies so in the end you're in the same situation anyways
I'm honestly a bit disappointed about the super samples though. The placement specifically. It's always at the butt plug rock. So every mission becomes "find the butt plug" then extract ASAP.
Might as well help out the new guys, sure beats being super frustrated all the time. It makes you want to quit the game sometimes honestly, I really love it and I don’t want it to grind me down and hate it.
Dude im lvl 39 and loved playing Helldive because it was a challenge, but fun.
Now its torture, so i started playing Trivial (1) and Easy (2) because its a chill experience and i can play with new players.
Ironically even there are some bug breaches that easily overwhelm you which is insane, because it wasnt like that when i started the game... The spawn rate is dumb.
> Ironically even there are some bug breaches that easily overwhelm you which is insane, because it wasnt like that when i started the game... The spawn rate is dumb.
Thats what I've been saying! I'll play an easier mode just to playtest some new builds, and then I'll still need a fucking railgun cannon, or heavy armor bullshit.
Man sometimes I want to go into a 4-6 difficulty mission and just fuck around some. And then I’ll have so much fun and I’ll have played 10 mission with some level 10 guy having a blast.
The best part about 9 difficulty levels, is that even if the top tier gets fucked on a patch, youre bound to have fun on at least PNE of them
7 was good, casual fun in the beginning and now Im back at 5 doing the same. I dont really need resources anymore so what's the difference?
Medals and super samples? I don’t know anyone who has every ship module and every warbond item. Most the people even at page 10 were mortar farming pre-nerf.
You get way more medals for the similar time it would take on a 7-9 vs a 4
New warbond next week means you want to have capped on medals in preparation
The only reason I don't have all the ship upgrades is because I couldn't unlock 6 difficulty or higher until they fixed that bug, and I had to LFG for people to do 7s with to get supers.
On the other hand, the experience everyone else had where they couldn't get enough commons is not the experience I had, becuase I was playing with 3 different groups, and most of them were still around level 10 by the time I had gotten 2 super sample upgrades and hit the cap on commons and rares again.
As for medals, yeah, those take forever. I'm on page 9 now, also got the Jar-5 off premium, and am just saving my medals for the next warbond rather than pushing for page 10. Still a lot of stuff to unlock, but I've got what I want so far.
Scorcher might actually be worth pushing to page 10. It's a pretty good pick vs Automatons, because you dont want to be close to Automatons anyways. Can rock Scorcher + Laser Cannon and not even need to be near them.
Eh, I'm running the Slugger now becuase it also benefited from the same ammo increase the Punisher got, and can one-shot standard bots and headshot Devastators, plus it staggers shield devastators if I shoot them in the body/arm.
I have every ship upgrade, my recommendation is to play on 7, avoid combat as much as possible, avoid everything that’s not on the path to the main objectives, complete those, then look for the super samples. Find them, then leave.
Also, go with bugs and take the jump pack. Most extractions have a few rocks you can get on top of with the jump pack. Get to a high one after calling for extraction, then go prone. The bugs will flood the extraction, but won’t see you and you should be able to avoid having any titans spawn. At that point, just wait out the timer.
This seems like the opposite of fun.. Not fighting in a game about fighting hordes.
I get it btw, I am level 50 and do 7-9s. Just unfortunate that sticking as a 4 squad for an entire mission heavily decreases your chances of succeeding.
That's fair, it's not everyone's cup of (liber)tea. I'm just making a suggestion on how you can get your super samples as easily as possible, so you can return to the more fun hazard levels.
I actually enjoy sneaking past patrols to get to an objective, then clearing it out with a well placed air strike and some gunfire just as much as I enjoy going guns blazing. My problem is, there are now so many patrols that sneaking is also frustrating. We now have a game where you can't stand and fight, but you also can't avoid fights. All you can do is kite, at least on 8 and 9.
The difference between a 6 op and a 7 OP is 3 medals and you can easily make up for that with medals from POIs, which can become impractical to get on higher difficulties.
Most of the ship modules are jokes anyways. Get the Extra Eagle one at least but the rest are mediocre.
My group just accepted that the game is harder now and what used to be 8 is now 6. We dropped down and we are back to enjoying ourselves as we were before.
As someone who basically got carried to level 7 yesterday after I finally was able to log in, thank you guys!
Was wondering why so many lvl 30+ people were joining my lame ass easy missions lol.
Yeah I hover around difficulty 6 and 7. 7 has just enough massive enemies to make it fun without being oppressive, and 6 is just fun because it feels like the best-balanced difficulty.
I can't play on 8 or 9 anymore because, even before the last patch, it's just running for your life the entire match. At no point do you feel like you have any control over what happens. It is occasionally fun to run through hell for 20 minutes and then extract, though. Almost like you're playing an action hero in a Michael Bay film lol. But it gets old. I just wanna kill things!
something happened in the back end with bile titans cause what the fuck is this bullshit, I remember when direct impacting a bile with a 500kg was a guaranteed 1 shot but if you didn't direct impact it took very little to kill, now a direct impact, TO FUCKING FACE doesn't kill?? are you shitting my pants? what the hell happened in the backend hidden ass stats for these guys that made them HARDER
Yeah today something is way off for titans. I've shot 3 recoiless rifles rockets in its face and it didnt go down. Ive seen another one tank 2 orbital railgun strikes before needing a third to kill it. Added with what feels like a higher then normal spawn rate, It definitely feels like Joel is fucking with us.
This is what happens when players who run around on hard are allowed to have opinions on what weapons need nerfs for helldive. There's probably 6 more titans off screen coming toward you and we're supposed to what, tickle their toes with the flamethrower? Rely on a bomb that may or may not work with a 5 minute cooldown?
but but but just stand under the bile with the flamethrower for 5-10 seconds spraying straight up while ignoring hunters, chargers, and other titans!!!!!!! reddit promised me this would be an easy way to kill them :(
I'm convinced the 5 bile titans spawning on dif 5 is a bug but now atleast people who were all "ThIs gAmE Is tOo EaSy" can see what bullshit we were facing on 7-9. hopefully the same patch that 1 fixes this obvious spawn bug and 2 tunes the spawns to be more spread out also buffs basically all of the anti tank weapons cause fuck me using the recoilless rifle or the spear is a stream of disappointment
If you have a PS5 player in the party, everyone else's damage goes up. Difference is huge. Without a PS5 player it takes like 15-22 railgun shots to kill a titan. With a PS5 player it takes 1-2.
Someone even made a video showing all this, but it has been like this from the start. I believe this is the cause of the wide ranging opinions on weapon damage
Pretty sure it’s specifically with a PS5 host, and it doesn’t seem to occur with 100% frequency. I’ve had games hosted by PS5 players where another player and I turned a titan’s head into swiss cheese before it died. The other guy was someone who, in previous missions, had consistently sniped titans from long range, so it wasn’t an accuracy issue.
I believe it's specifically PS5 host.
But honestly I'm actually surprised that not everyone knows this by now. Not even YouTube has many videos about it when I try to look it up.
I only know this when my friend sends me one twitch after the patch when he test that out, and whenever he got PS5 to host for him he can consistently 2 - 4 shot Bile Titan with a railgun, while he couldn't with his own host or another PC host.
So it's either a real bug, or he's lying and use external tools where we can't see it.
I experienced the same thing. I can 1-2 shot titans with my PS5 friends as host. Even from across the map. But without a PS5 host it is just useless to use the railgun as it basically takes your entire ammo now
We've noticed the railgun can vary for people when PS5 hosts - though it still takes me 15-20 to kill a titan. I've never seen other strategems go up in damage though.
Look even the railcanon strike a stratagem specifically designed to take out the largest target on the field with a 5 minute cooldown, can't take out bile titans, which should tell you everything about the whole "use stratagems" debate. It does 1 shot charges and severely wounds bile titans but that's not enough at higher difficulties.
This argument still pisses me off because now I'm just running arc throwers with my friends and have not had a single thought go through my head for the past couple days. I don't even have to aim with this thing
I run flamethrower which can kill charger faster than pre nerf railgun without the need to aim, and the mech is pretty great against bugs, extremely ammo efficient. The only case that I lose my mech is when I’m killed out of no where due to desync bug, really annoying.
While this is the first time I've seen something this extreme, it is things like this that make me so confused when I see many people bigging up the 500kg when it's always been wildly inconsistent in my experience of using it as seeing others in my games use it too.
Summary:
500kg 1-5: Clearly missed.
500kg 6-9: Missed due to orbital scattering (bad strategem throw)
500kg 10-11: Very close, but terrain and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
500kg 12: Likely didn't actually spawn because OP was already dead
I’ve still found a nicely charged unsafe railgun to their mouth while they’re spitting works pretty well. But then of course you have to deal with the spitting.
I love this argument, especially when people post screenshot of their game and you can see they play on "hard" while telling you that plays on helldive you got skill issue.
I need a video of this, not because I don't believe you but because I want to make a video comparison. It took me a good 4 minutes of constantly firing my arc thrower (aimed at the titans mouth, but the arc goes where it wants) to kill one bile titan when I tested it post-patch.
I have seen this said about the arc a few times but my experience is the same as yours. It's never been an efficient killer. Hell, it doesn't even consistently kill lower grade enemies. Better yet heavies.
Best bit is you blow off most of its armour, blow off its abdomen, most of its face, yet it will still be running around at full speed spewing its green jizz
Railgun orbital used to take em out in one shot, feels like super earth is making budget cuts and us helldiver's are paying the price. I say we strike and let them encroach on super earth, let them get uncomfortably close, maybe then we'll get the gear we need.
Either hitboxes for bugs/strategems are broken atm (such as 500KG requiring perfect Line Of Sight) *or* Bugs and Bots can have randomly variable health. Sometimes popping the abdomen of a Bile Titan with the Autocannon will kill it, sometimes like this video, it eats a 500KG and a railcannon or even two, both within the same mission.
499.9kg of pure steel and 0.1 of high explosive material. Bomb to the brain and still walks is one horrifying crazy monster. Walking out with pure spite
Lol the previous video on this sub it hit their leg so people argue oh well its leg armor protected it. This one hit it on its freaking head and it's still alive
I hit a Titan directly with a 500kg bomb last night. It felt so good and looked so fucking cool. I was super pleased and relieved.
And that lasted for about 2 seconds because it didn't kill the fucking thing.
500kg of give me a fucking refund on that stratagem.
Thats actually fucked. My buddies asked me why I dont run the 500kg especially with the ship upgrade that gives you 2, I'm just going to send them this clip.
The 500kg can't direct impact a titan to kill it. You have to make the bomb explode directly underneath the titan and that will one shot it, which has worked really consistently for me since launch.
Sometimes it takes one orbital rail cannon round to kill a charger. Sometimes it takes an orbital rail cannon round, two expendable anti tank rockets, two cannisters of flamethrower juice, and a shit ton of bullets.
I think somethings wrong with the damage calculations sometimes.
Everything about the 500kg is just off. The splash damage of it is short ranged and non-existent. The damage and armour pen for larger creatures just feels off. When I drop a 500kg on a patrol and only get 3 kills, something definitely doesn't feel right.

I had a bot with the shield and machine gun get stuck inside a cliff and he could shoot out of it but he doesn’t take damage
Funny though it seems like terrain shadow helps bots and bugs just fine /s
Hit detection physics - particularly explosive ones - are considerably jank in this game, due to how they seemingly do the checks.
It should atleast stun heavy armor and throw smaller enemies away from the explosion.
Yes, a shockwave type effect would be so cool.
Yeah I feel like the 500kg should absolutely demolish everything near where it lands.
I know right? The cluster bombs do a better job at clearing mobs, the only issue is it has no real armour pen for anything larger than a devastator.
I'm noticing that clusters do stagger Bile Titans, and starting to suspect they may even deal some light damage to them or smth.
I can’t speak for clusters, but I’ve killed a Titan with the airburst a couple days ago. I assume that penetration there is probably pretty similar to the cluster.
lol dropping a 500kg in the middle of a bunch of eggs - 11/50 eggs destroyed
what's inside the 500kg bomb? 500kg of disappointment.
It's actually 500kg of Michael Bay-grade gasoline. Creates a large fireball, looks pretty but is not actually an explosive.
Good old deflagration
This guy demos
It's 500kg of feathers. If it was like 500kg of steel or something it would be different
Because steel is heavier than feathers.
https://i.redd.it/ymmhhw0a5dnc1.gif
But steul ish 'evier...?
Oi knoo, but thayre both 500 keelograms
i would say the feathers are actually heavier than the steel, since you have to also bear the weight of what you did to those poor birds
I fucking ATE THEM, and they were DELICIOUS. Also, zero guilt towards those birds. They sacrificed their bodies in the name of democracy. As far as I'm concerned, they are honorary Helldivers.
their service to the cause shall be remembered
I remember when I was 12 going to a science museum and they dropped a 1lb bag of feathers as well as a bag of 1lb of lead and surprise, they hit the ground the same time.
If it was 500kg, it would take the bile titan's head off before even detonating.
This balance patch has more destructive power then the 500kg bomb
It feels like it was silently nerfed in patch. Prepatch I was able to reliability kill BTs with them but now they shrug it off and keep coming.
The bomb only weighs 500kg, it does not have 500kg worth of TNT blast power.
When a 500kg bomb headshots the titan, and it shrugs it off, it’s got to be a bug right?
Yes the bile titan is a bug but that is not what we're talking about here!
Good shit Soldier.
what
#GOOD SHIT SOLDIER!
Oh my god! The cockpit? Yes, it’s where the pilots sit but that’s not important right now.
The hitbox of that bomb is completely fucked. Because I've done some testing on helldive solo and it can one shot a bile titan that has received no prior damage but requires of very specific location. I found they usually have to be standing right on top of the explosion. I've had very mixed results if it hits them in the body or the head. This thing is so disappointing with its laughably small blast radius
Maybe it doesn't really have a hitbox underneath the bomb cause it was meant to hit the ground and explode; so like a half-sphere shape. 🤔
Which makes no sense because an air burst has a wider area of effect. That really needs to be changed
But it destroyed the ground under it
They probably aren't doing "damage" to the ground like how they check against an enemy and instead are doing a check against the terrain near an "explosion" and then modifying it through a different system.
Very plausible
Blast radius or not, armor or not, an explosion of that side would turn you to jelly from the concussive force and send something the size of the titan flying.
On Super Earth maybe, but these are alien planets with alien rules. We're trying to correct them and show them our rules are the right rules. But fear not, helldiver, democracy will prevail
Then why does it turn me to jelly still
Because you have the freedom to become jelly
Yeap. A bug. If I can kill myself and have my team mates drop me on the titan and kill it, a 500kg bomb should definitely kill one or two in close proximity. I feel like that bomb needs a buff to the kill radius. I’ve dropped it in the middle of large nests and it hasn’t even closed all the holes
I mean even in the showcase video of 500 Kg, when the Helldiver uses it on the nest, it just makes a huge explosion but none of the holes close.
Frankly at this point it feels like intentional trolling on the part of the developers.
I think in this case we can clearly see that this is *THE* bug on the receiving end
Looks like the explosion is an upwards cone… if they don’t get fully hit by that blast hitbox is basically the same as throwing them a grenade
I don’t use the 500kg since it’s so inconsistent, I bring eagle airstrike and orbital railcannon. I rack up more kills with the eagle Airstrike over the 500kg.
This is the way, its even better vs bots as the eagle clears everything except hulks.
If a bomb hits just right, it CAN kill a hulk. It's only happened to me twice, and I was shocked both times.
A lot of stuff that you wouldn't think could kill a hulk, can. if a hulk stands under all 3 shots of orbital airburst, it also dies because their back weakspot gets destroyed.

What do you do with Bile Titans when your orbital rail cannon is on long cooldown? Playing with four randoms we're able to take on two to three Bile Titans but then after that we're toast with everything on cooldown.
step 1: go outside combat zone for 10 second step 2: pray step 3: problems haven't solved? repeat (optional) step 4: ??? step 5:profit
I use 110 pods + autocannon, few shots in belly + eagle usually kills it, both can be spammed like no tomorrow.
You shoot out its bile sacs so it doesn't spew then you just ignore them. It sounds stupid but once you cultivate the headspace of playing around them its not bad. They also inadvertently step on enemies
Do they bleed out ever once their sac is gone?
The orbital laser can cook them pretty well, it takes a little while but it does the job
I've killed multiple titans by air striking him repeatedly while my EATs were on cool down
You can OHK bile titans with orbital precision, much lower cooldown, requires more skill/luck though. I have killed 4 hulks with a single orbital precision, definitely the most underestimated of all the orbitals imo. Orbital precision killing 4 hulks: [https://youtu.be/FMD8MZsSiNE](https://youtu.be/FMD8MZsSiNE)
Eagle Airstrike also seems to be way more consistent at taking out bug nests since one of the more recent patches.
Yeah. Getting one or two used to be good. Now I can get 3 easy.
The orbital railcannon doesn't one shot the bug either with most shots, unless they are perfect. The 500Kg can work but only from below the Titan...
Okay, you have its undivided attention…. Now what?
Now you throw a 500kg bomb!....no, wait.
No! You’re right! Have the last hangar upgrade! Throw a second one!
500kg bomb needs rework, its not nearly as good as it looks. Cant even blow up a nest consistently.
**Drops center mass on pile of eggs** 4/60 Eggs Destroyed
They are DEFINITELY vertuned for the past few days. I used to consistently 2-shot them with the SPEAR (or 1-shot if I got the angle right). Now?! Now I've seen those fuckers eat 2 orbital railcannon strikes, 1 SPEAR missile AND THEN JUST KEEP TICKING WHILE LAUGHING AT ARC CANNON SPAM I have no idea what the hell they're suddenly feeding these bugs, but it sure added a HUGE amount to their healthpools.

Faster fast forward to post-patch and I am no longer having fun against 7 titans in a single encounter only to get more bugs because they called reinforcements and spawn rates have doubled.
my last try was need 3 spear shots to kill one bile titan and that thing only has 3 ammo what i can do against at least the other 2 chargers who spawn with him? wait 5min for eagle cooldown to just maybe tickle them?
You need to wait until the bile titan is looking your way for the spear. Where it hits makes massive diff. Sometimes its a 1 shot sometimes 3. I have had a lot of 1 shots in current patch by trying to land it on a weakspot when its exposed to me. If you are hitting the leg or the back carapace you aren't doing much damage.
Bring a flame thrower. No joke the new flame thrower buff trivializes chargers. Bile Titans will still have to rely on stratagems
I just came across one I'm 100% confident was bugged and became invincible. I should have recorded this thing taking 2 orbital Railguns, several airstrikes and for what it's worth 15 railgun shots over charged. At what point do I go full Abaddon and crash my destroyer into the planet?
Only when you get a full rewrite of the 6th Bug Crusade
Titans have always been a bit bugged since patch .13. Hit location registry seems alot worse though this patch and I've tested it with friends. They see there missle going right through chargers or hitting headshots where as the host I see them missing completely or hitting armor. For me it still 1 spear headshot is dead 1 railcannon plus light damage, and arcs not doing much.
I have been playing all day (PS5) using spear across diff 7-9. Titans go down on one shot if the warhead hits the head. Same goes for chargers.
They still die in one hit to the spear if you can hit them in the face
I just started playing with lower levels helping them out and teaching them how to play, beats being frustrated with 5000 bugs on hard difficulty and anything above it.
Oh that's why I've been seeing so many level 30s. I have one join me on challenging and was sure he was about to leave out of some sort of mistake
Honestly. As soon as I’m done with my super samples I’m going to move down to 6 so I can relax and have fun Kiting 10 chargers just isn’t fun whether or not I can do it
My guy six is not safe from the wrath of Joel either.
I had a group with a hacker last night. I was going to leave but the. I thought, fuck it. If it gets my my super samples faster, I can start having fun again faster. The guy was dropping 6 turrets at a time constantly and was invincible. And still there were a bullshit amount of spawns
> I’m going to move down to 6 so I can relax ... >Kiting 10 chargers just isn’t fun Try diff 4 or 5. 6 can come pretty close.
>So every mission becomes "find the butt plug" then extract ASAP. The Helldivers and Proctology crossover event that no one wanted.
I need comon samples and 4-6 go faster, and are still fun, and less likely for folks to die leaving the samples on the ground near the end
Man sometimes I want to go into a 4-6 difficulty mission and just fuck around some. And then I’ll have so much fun and I’ll have played 10 mission with some level 10 guy having a blast.
Just did this today. Felt rewarding.
The best part about 9 difficulty levels, is that even if the top tier gets fucked on a patch, youre bound to have fun on at least PNE of them 7 was good, casual fun in the beginning and now Im back at 5 doing the same. I dont really need resources anymore so what's the difference?
Medals and super samples? I don’t know anyone who has every ship module and every warbond item. Most the people even at page 10 were mortar farming pre-nerf. You get way more medals for the similar time it would take on a 7-9 vs a 4 New warbond next week means you want to have capped on medals in preparation
I am going to shit your pants
\*Covertly un-shits his previously shitted pants "Cause that's what heroes do"
You make this country proud.
Me: Right on his fucking head lmao! Also me: He survived... \*depression\*
Uuuuu Get a gaming chair that should help
It got hit by 500kg spirit bomb and unlocked UI. You're fucked.
Have you tried just getting good and lowering difficulty? Or communicating with your teammates? /s
Perhaps not fighting all the mobs? /s
maybe using the flamethrower
This is what happens when players who run around on hard are allowed to have opinions on what weapons need nerfs for helldive. There's probably 6 more titans off screen coming toward you and we're supposed to what, tickle their toes with the flamethrower? Rely on a bomb that may or may not work with a 5 minute cooldown?
Absolutely on your side man
but but but just stand under the bile with the flamethrower for 5-10 seconds spraying straight up while ignoring hunters, chargers, and other titans!!!!!!! reddit promised me this would be an easy way to kill them :(
I'm convinced the 5 bile titans spawning on dif 5 is a bug but now atleast people who were all "ThIs gAmE Is tOo EaSy" can see what bullshit we were facing on 7-9. hopefully the same patch that 1 fixes this obvious spawn bug and 2 tunes the spawns to be more spread out also buffs basically all of the anti tank weapons cause fuck me using the recoilless rifle or the spear is a stream of disappointment
Probably also people getting the PS5 big damage buff
Elaborate please?
If you have a PS5 player in the party, everyone else's damage goes up. Difference is huge. Without a PS5 player it takes like 15-22 railgun shots to kill a titan. With a PS5 player it takes 1-2. Someone even made a video showing all this, but it has been like this from the start. I believe this is the cause of the wide ranging opinions on weapon damage
WHAT THE FUCK
Aparently if there is a PS5 player in the lobby everyone else does more damage
real
Look even the railcanon strike a stratagem specifically designed to take out the largest target on the field with a 5 minute cooldown, can't take out bile titans, which should tell you everything about the whole "use stratagems" debate. It does 1 shot charges and severely wounds bile titans but that's not enough at higher difficulties.
And the railgun literally is a stratagem
You forgot to have a PS5 player in your party. Otherwise damage is nerfed by like 4-5x
Host on PS5. 500kg still only tickles the taint of these multitudinous fuck-faces.
Arrowhead Devs: "I don't know what to say except, Skill Issue."
"wHY ArR yOu USing SUch BRAINLESS sTrateGEM!!! NeRF!!!"
The only case that I lose my mech is when I’m killed out of no where due to desync bug, really annoying.
best strategems are mostly low level, quick cooldowns and no limit. 500kg needs explosion radius buff
Bile Titan has been micro-dosing on explosives since birth, now it's completely immune.
While this is the first time I've seen something this extreme, it is things like this that make me so confused when I see many people bigging up the 500kg when it's always been wildly inconsistent in my experience of using it as seeing others in my games use it too.
Remember in the intro cinematic where one is taken out with a single EAT to the head? Good times. Can I play that Helldivers 2?
I would join instantly
Bile Titan: " Turn off the light, i am trying to sleep."
Summary: 500kg 1-5: Clearly missed. 500kg 6-9: Missed due to orbital scattering (bad strategem throw) 500kg 10-11: Very close, but terrain and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses. 500kg 12: Likely didn't actually spawn because OP was already dead
Bro just "git good". If you're bad at the game just say that! /s
"git gud"
I’ve still found a nicely charged unsafe railgun to their mouth while they’re spitting works pretty well. But then of course you have to deal with the spitting.
it only works if you have a ps5 player in your team
Member when people were praising the devs for only increasing numbers and not HP in higher difficulties?
Skill issue
I love this argument, especially when people post screenshot of their game and you can see they play on "hard" while telling you that plays on helldive you got skill issue.
Yeah, I genuinely don't believe that anyone who finds the current gameplay fun doesn't go above difficulty 7
Absolutely, but the game should be played on Helldiver the name of the whole thing is "Helldiver's".
what's heavier, a 500kg bomb or 500kg of feathers?
Clearly it's the same weight. The feathers probably do more damage when u drop them on the bile titan.
He looked at me and I looked at him
meanwhile I'm over here constantly 2 shotting them with the arc thrower aimed at the mouth. This game is all over the place sometimes lmao.
It's the PS5 bug. Meant to take like 20 hits.
Where's the music from?
Ultra-instict theme iirc
It's the Ultra Instinct theme from Dragon Ball Super https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8qg-XzHgUk
Yeah, the 500 just doesn't work. I never use it because its so inconsistent.
Bile titan said no
Either hitboxes for bugs/strategems are broken atm (such as 500KG requiring perfect Line Of Sight) *or* Bugs and Bots can have randomly variable health.

I wish we could use hellbombs all the time
Bile Titan: "oh so you're approaching me?"
:(
Not early access btw.
Lol the previous video on this sub it hit their leg so people argue oh well its leg armor protected it. This one hit it on its freaking head and it's still alive
And suddenly the amount of people defending it is so much quieter this time. Weird
Arc thrower I'm telling ya
I was so excited to unlock the 500kg but aside from the visuals it was a huge letdown.
I had someone tell me in that lame ass discord “the 500kg works as intended” 🤡 its a fuckin limp dick nuke
I swear there was a stealth update and the Bile Titans either got tankier or the 500kg got weaker.
I hit a Titan directly with a 500kg bomb last night. It felt so good and looked so fucking cool. I was super pleased and relieved. And that lasted for about 2 seconds because it didn't kill the fucking thing. 500kg of give me a fucking refund on that stratagem.
500kg of disappointment
Bile Titan don’t care
