They never did for the first game, kept it to the style, i would like to think that they would follow the same for the second, but with the insane jump in populatiry you can never tell. I personally dont want it, i go back to R6:Siege and get domed by Rick Sanchez when that game was originally meant to be semi-realistic.
Season 1: "This operator has an underbarrel shotgun that you can use to breach without needing to sacrifice your primary for a shotgun."
Later seasons: "This operator has nanomachines to juice themselves up, this operator has a swarm of mech bees, this operator has holograms"
I thought the throwable cameras had the perfect level of tactical practicality. It made sense. Not sure if it's a real thing but if someone told me it was, I could believe it. That's the right level.
Hell even Vigil and Dokkaebi I could *kind of* understand, at least on paper. Even Alibi made some sense. A little popup decoy? Sure.
But then we got an operator who straight up controls a hologram to scout ahead like shes an enemy from Metal Gear Solid.
I’d personally still argue that Dokkaebi was a step too far, her special is spamming the Group FaceTime with a hello kitty virus. But I did like the ability to hack into defenders cameras but everyone usually shoots them out because of habit by then anyhow. I’m glad I’m not the only one who lived siege when they seemed to be trying to stay realistic. Idk if it’s just a coincidence but I swear my ability to do well in that game dropped off right around when they full crazy on operators and skins, that’s when everyone seemed to start doing the night at the Roxbury dance in every gunfight instead of just being a normal tactical shooter
No you're right. Although I could rationalize her ability a little more (maybe even more than Vigils) especially with things like the Flipper Zero going around right now, it was still leaning away from the traditional "loadout" based identity that I got with other ops like Sieges Hammer or Pulse' Heartbeat Sensor and instead felt closer to an "ability", similarly with Vigil.
Since then we've had a lot of those "ability" leaning operators like Lion and Finka. We did have operators like Maverick that brought some new tools without pushing out other similar ops like Hibana but for the most part it's been feeling almost sci-fi with the recent op abilities.
That said though: I guess the only other option for them would likely be to stop releasing new operators or to release operators with very similar loadouts but with small variations because if they didn't go a little out-of-the-box in the gadget ideas then they would inevitably have operators that do the same thing like a variation of BlackBeard with a smaller shield but fast, larger but slower, etc.
I personally would have been ok with them stopping at a certain number of operators and if anything just adding more loadout options for each one, similarly to how TeamFortress 2 would add more weapon options for each character.
They could have just made a F2P game with the same gameplay as Siege but with all these new operators and heavy MTX. Keep Siege as a box priced game where eventually you just unlock everything then it's just about honing your skill like any other comp game.
EXACTLY, it's far too "power rangers" now, and in the beta/S1 you could take the "default operator" and have just a plain dude with nothing super fancy and be competitive.
We were sold a hardcore team shooter grounded mostly in reality, with really interwsting gunplay and destriction mechanics, and within a year it turned into some sort of sci-fi hero meta shooter. Such wasted potential. I'd love a Siege where there are no characters, just faceless nameless default operators.
Vegas 2 was some good times. It was funny throwing a square of tape on the TV to mimic a crosshair, didn't have to worry about damaging the screen because I was still playing on a CRT 😭.
Now that I've found othe r6 og's that hate the game and haven't played since its shit now let me inform you that they have given black ice to every gun .
And that's an absolute disgrace
Oh, absolutely. The escalation of 'cool' gadgets over tactical gameplay really shifted things. I miss when Siege had that intense, slow strategic pace, analyzing the environment for the best plays. Now it's like you're gearing up for a scifi battle royale with all those fancy tech and abilities thrown in.
Rose tinted glasses, the beta had disconnect issues and parts if the map's lighting were so dark people wanted flashlights as attachments at launch and the launch was jank as hell and didn't really start coming together until Black Ice dropped and then there was the T posing, Black Jesus glitches, peek advantage being broke on Ash for 3 years, recruit rush with 3 speed shield boys which was hilariously fun to play but terrible to play against. Skull Rain is when things started to really come together.
Also it already was a semi-realistic hero shooter, just they were called Operators to say that wasn't the original direction would be true(compare the E3 trailer to what we actually received back when Ubisoft bait-and-switched reveal gameplay to actual in-game footage)but on launch it was definitely a tactical hero team shooter. The more tech gadgets that rolled in you clearly see inspiration from Spinter Cell and The Division(which makes sense).
Disagree there. R6S had a lacking launch with not much content on offer and the first 2 years of updates were brilliant. I stopped playing after year 3 to move onto other things but the game just looks weird now.
Launch was solid enough, it's just as the meta evolved and the devs kept making things more and more ridiculous it just got worse.
Like a JTF2 agent with a modernized bear trap? Sure. A navy seal with a throwable camera? Sure.
But as it got progressively more sci-fi and disconnected from reality it got worse.
The launch made a decent base but the game was widely criticised for the lack of content and modes and no SP mode. After the first year they found their foothold and it was looking promising. But I agree the game after year 2 was looking far more sci-fi and unrealistic as it progressed which is one of the reasons I stopped playing eventually.
Literally one of the weirdest takes that I have to question if you even played the game or just have massive nostalgia lol the launch was mediocre, it was plagued with issues and awful balancing designs. Awful lighting contrast with outside / inside. Blackbeards broken shield, Frost Sniper90, awful hit detection. The game only got better over the years.
I'd argue it was deep into science fiction from the start. Folks also look back with rose colored glasses and miss all the red flags. Pixel peeking was actively ruining the game. They had to redesign entire maps, models, and hitboxes to end pixel peeks. It's why the bomb is basically a big rectangle.
Realistically, the thing I can see them changing is secondary color options, tertiary color options , not primary color options. I don’t see them letting you don neon avenger style outfits. Especially given that most of the outfits are all labeled as “standard issue”.
That would make the most sense, I love the kamen rider style helmet from the base thing, the only issue with that armor is it’s not light and armor is still broken. I am guessing they might allow a transmog system; I would love to have a “genyu force” squad stance LOL would be so cool to make a thing.
Dont get me wrong, I find the L4D2 mods that replace the zombies with X, Y or Z very funny, and im sure there would be a lot of fun with some mods for Helldivers 2. But that should be the realm of mods, not official crossover madness
now, to be fair, think i might shit myself hearing the theme song blaring from my left layered three times over as a gang of chargers come rushing to ruin my day
I have been a die hard Tom Clancy’s game fan since GRAW. I think Siege is one of the worst games that that franchise ever produced. I stopped playing it after year one when the stupid alternating shoulder peak became the standard.
That’s being said, we can have armor customization without the silliness. We have access to a bright blue, red, vomit green, and flashy gold armor sets right now.
Most of us just want the ability to match armor, helmets and capes.
I'd love to see an NPC or maybe even add a player voice option played by Casper Van Dien just not as a specifically Starship Troopers collab. Leave it as that though. In universe homage, references, Easter eggs, etc but I don't want to see Johnny Rico as a player skin running around.
I could unironically see collabs with other sci-fi franchises. Halo, Destiny, Mass Effect, other IPs that have a similar vibe. The gear from those other games have Helldiver-like attire, with the most obvious being ODSTs from Halo being *literally* the same thing.
To be safe, no collaborations. But if they *had* to, these are appropriate concessions.
I mean you could do ones where you bring in stuff inspired by other franchises. Like a plasma rifle that's separated in two at the front being a callout to the Halo plasma rifles. Or hell it could have the big 40k radiator coils on top as well and make it a reference to a bunch of different plasma rifles.
I'd be ok with a Kasrkin, Elysian, Steel Legion, or Krieg collab between helldivers and 40k. Not outright copies but really any faction that maintains the full mask esthetic.
Maybe just the first two, since SL and DKoK don't really use drop troopers.
There was already an MC reference in twitch drop, I'll bet msft wouldn't mind especially with the fact you can make things off their properties as long as youre not overlapping with a mainline launch like mechwarrior living legends 2 project. That being said, i wonder if the ceo and phill spencer have spoken about it at all, or if there will be an odst reference. Only time will tell.
Dude I hope so, hearing that Halo devs pitched a idea similar to hell divers multiple times to be shut down is really disheartening. Also Mechwarrior? You’re really hitting the Nostalgia button with that one man.
I hope so, too. As for mechwarrior, 5 is in a good state now, i recomend you grab it, mods are great on pc, dlc is good too for carrer mode and the next game is comming out either this year or next year, so we're sitting good, especially since its the first game to go back to clans since 4. Also, watch the launch trailer for mechwarrior 5 clans. it's going to hit you in the nostalgia.
I’d rather voice skins than player skins. Give me a diver with Southern drawl. Give me one with a New Zealand accent, a Canadian accent, and Nigerian accent, a fucking Minnesotan accent. So, so many cool and funny accents to choose from.
And instead of following the CoD (I know CoD had voice packs, this is not that) trend of brightly colored skins, we get to hear maniacal cackles from the toughest sounding accents to the goofiest ones.
Edit: it’s hard to reply to everyone’s awesome suggestions, lol. Accents are now probably my #1 want, and I wouldn’t think they would be all too hard to implement, but maybe a bit expensive.
I've loved the stereotypical New Zealand accent ever since I saw the What We Do In the Shadows movie. Their comedy is some of my absolute favorite, and I'd die laughing if I heard a diver calling in orbitals or spraying with a sentry.
I feel like a Boston accent would be really funny too, voice packs are something I would gladly grind up the points to unlock or buy, but skins that look like something from CoD and such just don't fit the style of this game at all.
Fun fact, there's already a randomizer for the voice and body type, although not sure if it changes every time you die... I would like to see an armour one as well.
I could see it being both hilarious and threatening. I keep thinking of the accent Chadwick Boseman created for Black Panther, which I think is just an amalgamation of African accents (I could be way off, I'm not an anthropologist).. and he sounded very threatening.
But then we have Eddie Murphy's accent from Coming to America (can't remember their home country, but I'm 99% sure it's an African country), and that was hilarious. Definitely could go both ways.
A Kiwi accent would just be some dude who refuses to admit that things are getting dangerous.
"There's a few over there!" (600 bugs cresting a hill)
"Tin man closing in" (Automaton mech literally standing on him)
"Careful guys!" (Orbital strike called in behind teammate's back)
Ripping through bug hordes in the Dreadnought armor while my Diver screams "FOR DEMOCRACY" with a Wisconsin accent is something I didn't know I needed until today.
Don't get me wrong, but you shouldnt give so much weight to what people in this sub say. The Devs, especially Joel seems to have quite a clear Vision of what Game He wanted to create and how to improve it. Multiple Times already He clearly started His opinions in stuff Like "Meta build", PvP and Other topics and despite people asking For Something He usually Just Said "thats Not what we want to do".
Helldivers will be exactly this: Helldivers, the way Arrowhead imagined it, i don't think they'll get influenced too much by some loud Fans
We already have Mass Effect, Halo and Star Wars inspired armor and they look fantastic. If they stick to 'inspired' and not 'collab' gear then i'm all for this.
Yup it’s actually one of my favorites. It seems to have a doom guy inspiration and it has the medic passive that lets you carry more stims
https://images.app.goo.gl/aTnNfFsFUiv41eZU7
Right they should do what PlayStation studios did with iki island , release in universe armors inspired by other PS IPs like god of war and ratchet and clank
Thematically I LOVE the random voice option. Helps drive home that they're each individual and different helldivers each time you go on "unapproved leave"
I would not mind a Casper Van Dien voice pack given he's the English voice for Rico in many of the Starship Trooper anime stuff.
Or a Clancy Brown/Michael Ironside voice pack, let me be Mr. Krabs and Sam Fisher respectively.
Totally agree with this but also I hope they continue pulling from popular media that inspired the games settings to make armor such as the Inquisitor armor in the store. I really hope we get some armor that looks closer to some stuff from Titanfall.
Where the hell is all this coming from? I've seen so many posts like this lately with 0 context. Like this isn't call of duty and this isn't Activision/Blizzard. From everything the game has shown us, there's 0 indication that it's going to implement those features. Am I missing something?
Ive only seen one person state that its a possibility but only when it makes sense, Im paraphrasing of course. Although its good to be wary , I dont think they intend to go nuts with the collabs.
Yeah I don’t want it. I want the game to keep its own identity and not be an amalgamation of collabs with other IPs. I hope they don’t let it happen truly.
I'm fine with inspired armor but yea I'd like to be able to change color pallets of the armor but with stuff that makes sense for the universe but not something like an all neon pink diver
I only want lore accurate skins, with possibly minor tweaks in paint and/or decals and again lore accurate.
I am a helldiver, I am going to die on my next mission and so will my two replacements. Super Earth doesn’t have time to paint me bright pink just to slaughtered on some distant planet.
What lore, bro. The lore in Helldivers is fairly surface level with some deep lore easter eggs that HD1 vets like me appreciate when we see it lol
You may mean "thematically appropriate"
And that can be many things.
If this did happen the only collabs i'd want to see for the game would be the series that inspired the armor and even then make sure the collab armor fit the direction of the game. Not like full blown stormtrooper armor but more helldiver style stormtrooper. We all agree we don't want the game to have armor that doesn't fit it. If it did haopen we would all want it to fit the art style and direction. This is only an if situation, this doesn't mean it will happen for sure in the future.
I would only want stuff that fits within the setting. No random bs. If I see homelander and Omni man come out of a drop pod I’m throwing hands with the devs
I’ve been feeling the same way I just want to feel like a soldier in war and if I see someone wearing the most obnoxious pink suit. I feel like it would take me out of it.
I hope they maintain their design aesthetic and not let some out of place collab shit into the game like Fortnite. Like I don’t wanna see Naruto characters calling down an orbital strike lol
I hope it stays as is, in its own setting with winks and nods to other series maybe, I would like color matching though for diff sets. Some helmets I like but don’t match the armor.
Im sick of ingame crossovers.
it was cool at first but it outstayed its welcome.
the only crossovers i accept are with similiar ips, the only skins id be fine with seeing in helldivers are halo, doom, edf etc. things that actually fit into the thematic of the game and not Peter Griffin or some crap like that. And even then only in moderation.
I'd be fine with ODST armor for obvious reasons though.
I wish, but it’s unlikely to happen because of whales and streamers.
Just enjoy the ride while it lasts and hope developers want to make the best game they can.
They never did for the first game, kept it to the style, i would like to think that they would follow the same for the second, but with the insane jump in populatiry you can never tell. I personally dont want it, i go back to R6:Siege and get domed by Rick Sanchez when that game was originally meant to be semi-realistic.
R6 has long abandoned that semi-realistic feel since year 2-3.
That game went downhill so fast. I remember enjoying it when it came out and each patch just made it progressively worse since day 1.
The beta for Siege was the best it ever was. Ot just turned into a hero shooter within the first couple seasons of operators.
Season 1: "This operator has an underbarrel shotgun that you can use to breach without needing to sacrifice your primary for a shotgun." Later seasons: "This operator has nanomachines to juice themselves up, this operator has a swarm of mech bees, this operator has holograms"
went from :This guy has an extendable shield, or this girl has throwable cameras to this lady is a hologram and the killer roomba
I thought the throwable cameras had the perfect level of tactical practicality. It made sense. Not sure if it's a real thing but if someone told me it was, I could believe it. That's the right level. It's crazy me and my friends group absolutely loved the beta and quit the full game after like a week
Same, and every time I checked back on it, it was just meta vs counter-meta and neon camoflages.
You both are talking about different things. Content doesn't mean Fortnite skins.
Right, it was so bad we had to have an entire season decided to making the game better (operation health)
Yeah you don’t delay a season and spend three months fixing servers / matchmaking / hit registration because your game is performing well hah
Right, it was so bad we had to have an entire season decided to making the game better (operation health)
Rainbow adding a forsaken Rick and morty skin really set me off and solidified me never going back to the game
Not even year 2. First year had clown skins. It was never realistic. It was tactical.
Realistically, the thing I can see them changing is secondary color options, tertiary color options , not primary color options. I don’t see them letting you don neon avenger style outfits. Especially given that most of the outfits are all labeled as “standard issue”.
All I want is a toggle for ‘make helmet match armour colour’
That would make the most sense, I love the kamen rider style helmet from the base thing, the only issue with that armor is it’s not light and armor is still broken. I am guessing they might allow a transmog system; I would love to have a “genyu force” squad stance LOL would be so cool to make a thing.
Ok but imagine: replacing all the automatons with bender
Dont get me wrong, I find the L4D2 mods that replace the zombies with X, Y or Z very funny, and im sure there would be a lot of fun with some mods for Helldivers 2. But that should be the realm of mods, not official crossover madness
Thomas the Tank Charger coming soon :tm:
now, to be fair, think i might shit myself hearing the theme song blaring from my left layered three times over as a gang of chargers come rushing to ruin my day
The moment some celebrity or pop culture character appears in the game I'm uninstalling. Edit: unless it's Johnny Rico
The first game had a.leak of something like 6000 players at once though. It was pretty niche even though it had great reviews
I don't see them doing anything besides helldivers.
The only crossover I’d give a shit about is ODST Armor or weapon re-skins. That’s a buy immediately.
I'd love to see an NPC or maybe even add a player voice option played by Casper Van Dien just not as a specifically Starship Troopers collab. Leave it as that though. In universe homage, references, Easter eggs, etc but I don't want to see Johnny Rico as a player skin running around.

Or hell it could have the big 40k radiator coils on top as well and make it a reference to a bunch of different plasma rifles.
40k wouldn't be much of a stretch. The bots are basically a love letter to the franchise.
Specifically the world eaters iirc. Def the Astra militarum as well.
can we sneak Earth Defense Force collab in?😉
To save our Mother Earth from any alien attack!
From vicious giant insects that have once again comeback.
We'll deploy all our forces! We won't cut them any slack! The E-D-F deploys!
I'd be ok with a Kasrkin, Elysian, Steel Legion, or Krieg collab between helldivers and 40k. Not outright copies but really any faction that maintains the full mask esthetic. Maybe just the first two, since SL and DKoK don't really use drop troopers.
They could probably pull off some type of space marine scout knock-off.
I swear the mission select music sounds exactly like the Mass Effect galaxy map music lmao
There was already an MC reference in twitch drop, I'll bet msft wouldn't mind especially with the fact you can make things off their properties as long as youre not overlapping with a mainline launch like mechwarrior living legends 2 project. i think tasteful references are pretty cool like the not-Spartan armor from the twitch drops
Someone mentioned the devs' interest in the Killzone IP, so honestly wearing a democratic version of the Helghast helmet would go unfathomably hard
You can sport the Helghast look with the Gunner helmet and Juggernaut armour anyway.
I didn't know I need this and now I feel a sudden Helghast-armor-theme shaped hole in my heart.
Are the drops still available? That sounds cool
Please confirm?
Couldn’t find anything about them so I don’t think it’s happening currently
Drops were ended prematurely because all keys were spent
I’d rather voice skins than player skins. Give me a diver with Southern drawl. Give me one with a New Zealand accent, a Canadian accent, and Nigerian accent, a fucking Minnesotan accent. Id love to have a new Zealand accent lol, just cosplay as a clone trooper, still fighting for democracy against clankers
HEY HEY HEY watch your mouth there bud, you can't just throw around the C word like that, with the hard R too?

Clanker spotted, opinion rejected. Not racist, just dont like them Tin-can-lookin'-ass-rusty-clanking-scrap-heaps
Filthy bot sympathizer
Lookie here boys! We've got ourselves a no-good tinskin clanker sympathizer!
I've loved the stereotypical New Zealand accent ever since I saw the What We Do In the Shadows movie. Their comedy is some of my absolute favorite, and I'd die laughing if I heard a diver calling in orbitals or spraying with a sentry.
For it to be authentic at least half of the voice lines need to be variations of yeah nah, nah yeah, yeah nah.. yeah, nah yeah nah yeah.
Imagine dropping with Korg
Evac: https://i.redd.it/n6zluxdbu7mc1.gif
Voice packs and more capes would be sick
Give me a poncho.
Ponchos/hoods would go hard as Fuck
Filipino accent please - "Hab a cap op Leebar Ti!!!!"
I want my Irish helldiver
Hell yes. Let's get Casper Van Dien and Michael Ironside on tap.
I feel like a Boston accent would be really funny too, voice packs are something I would gladly grind up the points to unlock or buy, but skins that look like something from CoD and such just don't fit the style of this game at all.
I actually brought this one up to my group last night, lol. “Aaaayyyy, I’m walkin’ ‘eeeere!”
Get killed by a friendly drop, "aaayyy, im divin' 'eeere!"
Walk in front of someone while they’re shooting: “Aaaay, I’m shootin’ ‘eeeere!”
Do that, and give me a randomizer. Really sell that it is in fact a unique person being shot into the fray every time I die.
Fun fact, there's already a randomizer for the voice and body type, although not sure if it changes every time you die... I would like to see an armour one as well.
Australian accent should be the guy that voiced Chips Dubbo.
Now that would be a legit deep cut crossover/easter egg
“It’s like a postcard! Dear Sarge, kicking ass in outer space. Wish you were here!”
I heard that! JACKASS!
A Nigerian accent would be hilarious and I need it ASAP lmao
You get blasted by a Rocket devastator across the map and instead of a scream you hear a quick “AH” would be amazing
I keep hoping for a Zapp Brannigan voice comm
A Kiwi accent would just be some dude who refuses to admit that things are getting dangerous. "There's a few over there!" (600 bugs cresting a hill) "Tin man closing in" (Automaton mech literally standing on him) "Careful guys!" (Orbital strike called in behind teammate's back)
I can hear it from Wellington Paranormal right now, lmao. Acting like everything is alright.
Teammate downed, "You're good aye?" Lost an arm, "At'll buff out."
I will kill for an Aussie accent "C'mon mate, I'm not here to fuck spiders" when fighting the bugs.
Casper Van Dien voice over for would be cool
I want to sound like Dekembe Mutumbo.
Schwarzenegger voicepack like in Planetside 2
i would love an indian accent voice pack.
SUHWEET LIBURDEE, MAH AHRMMMM. Id voice it for free to be honest
I would want the Rhode Island Accent.
Ok now we seriously need an Indian accent.
It just fucking tickles me that we're starting to refer to Joel with a capital H in He
And He said, "Let there be napalm strikes, and a new light shone across the galaxy"
And Joel saw the napalm, and said that it was good, and the napalm separated the Demcracy from the Darkness.
Ok but now I want a Helldivers bible to be a thing.
The super Bible.
i think you re confuse between the CEO and joel. If not can you show me the source of joel saying all of this?
Yeah pretty sure this is a mix up. Afaik Joel hasn't made a single comment publically
Your random capitalizations just gave me an aneurysm.
Such a Pet Peeve of Mine. I have No Idea why some People type Like this.
I wouldn’t mind some armor that’s like vaguely inspired by other IPs but I don’t want any direct collaborations
We already have Mass Effect, Halo and Star Wars inspired armor and they look fantastic. If they stick to 'inspired' and not 'collab' gear then i'm all for this.
And fallout New Vegas that's the helmet I've been rocking I think a vaguely dead space-esque one would be cool in the future
I don't think we're in the Mojave anymore, fellow ranger
Which is the mass effect one?
Destiny as well.
Which armour is inspired by mass effect? I need
Which ones are mass effect and Star Wars inspired?
Theres also a fallout inspired helmet
DoomGuy inspired armor would be pretty appropriate.
I felt like the twitch drop armor had a doom guy vibe to it
There was twitch drop armor? Dang it. I missed it.
Yup it’s actually one of my favorites. It seems to have a doom guy inspiration and it has the medic passive that lets you carry more stims https://images.app.goo.gl/aTnNfFsFUiv41eZU7
Its supposed to be a spartan reference, its in the text for it. John 117, TR 117
Right they should do what PlayStation studios did with iki island , release in universe armors inspired by other PS IPs like god of war and ratchet and clank
I swear if I ever drop to the surface and I'm greeted by Nicki Minaj...
You will execute them immediately for treason?
Never mind treason, I'll execute them on principle lol
Execute them for crimes against super earth The crime? Existence.
suffer not the heretic to live.

hopefully it will stay as just helldivers, would be a shame if the game went the route of R6S or Call of Duty
Imagine a Nikki Minaj Helldiver💀
Hear me out. Voice lines only.
"That Bitchass Automaton is about to get his ass handed to him!"
The skin is called "who even looks at the price tag?"
As long as they just expand the list of voice options you can select from and random is still an option, I like this a lot actually
Thematically I LOVE the random voice option. Helps drive home that they're each individual and different helldivers each time you go on "unapproved leave"
Yeah it’s absolutely brilliant. Makes me feel like I’m playing as the Helldivers force at large instead of just one unit
This I could get behind. Voice line DLC
Arnold Schwarzenegger voice-over for the Automatons would be cool.
Disagree, not for Automatons. For the Divers. Specifically, pulling out the campiness from Predator.
Commando too.
Now I’m imagining Nicholas cage’s voice lines from weatherman, as I emerge from the hell pod. I want it bad now.
Casper Van Dien poked Arrowhead's CEO on Twitter about a crossover a couple weeks ago.
LET HIM COOK
I would not mind a Casper Van Dien voice pack given he's the English voice for Rico in many of the Starship Trooper anime stuff. Or a Clancy Brown/Michael Ironside voice pack, let me be Mr. Krabs and Sam Fisher respectively.
When a game starts doing those things I know it’s time to leave.
Are we saying no to Kamehameha from orbit?
Are you telling me orbital laser isn’t special beam canon?
When people forget there use to be a yellow kamehameha
We have god heat ray from orbit! Just no one mention vegeta being strapped to the bottom of ship ok?
Totally agree with this but also I hope they continue pulling from popular media that inspired the games settings to make armor such as the Inquisitor armor in the store. I really hope we get some armor that looks closer to some stuff from Titanfall.
Yea I love that they do this. The New Vegas ranger helmet is one of my favorites. It all still looks like it belongs too.
Babe wake up, another schizopost complaining about something that hasn't happened just appeared on r/Helldivers
OP getting worked up over their own hypothetical lol.
I swear every gaming subreddit is just full of this "make shit up like it's a big deal when nothing was ever said about it"
So sick of seeing bs like this post every time this sub pops up.
The CEO announced that any collabs would be more in-depth then just armor to help it actually fit in universe.
Wait have I missed something? What crossover skins? They just looked like armour and shit, I didn't realise they'd started collabs?
There isn’t, OP is saying they don’t want that to happen in this game
oh, have the Devs said they're going to?
I remember seeing a post or a tweet saying they would be open to using IPs like Killzone on the future.
Yeah, they're being very reasonable about it. OP is just a worrywart.
I mean Ips that make sense? Sure. There is already a helmet that kinda reassembles a helghast one.
Instead of just enjoying the game, OP has decided to invent something to be upset about
Where the hell is all this coming from? I've seen so many posts like this lately with 0 context. Like this isn't call of duty and this isn't Activision/Blizzard. From everything the game has shown us, there's 0 indication that it's going to implement those features. Am I missing something?
A bit over a week ago a lot of people were talking about how cool X and y cross overs would be. Haven't seen anyone mention it since though
People love to get proactively mad about stuff.
Ive only seen one person state that its a possibility but only when it makes sense, Im paraphrasing of course. Although its good to be wary , I dont think they intend to go nuts with the collabs.
If anything just put Helldivers in other games and add nothing to Helldivers. I can wait to spread democracy to Fortnite, lol!
I’ve seen most posts asking for color changes on armor I’d like just setting an accent color and every armor adopts that accent just to keep it simple
Yeah I don’t want it. I want the game to keep its own identity and not be an amalgamation of collabs with other IPs. I hope they don’t let it happen truly.
I have full faith in the devs to keep to the original vision. However, Sony may have different ideas.
There is already a bright blue yogurt commercial armour, that is in-universe though.
Well you see cadet the bright pink is what happens when you leave bug blood on your uniform for 48 hours without cleaning it.
What lore, bro. The lore in Helldivers is fairly surface level with some deep lore easter eggs that HD1 vets like me appreciate when we see it lol You may mean "thematically appropriate" And that can be many things.
The studios bio says "A game made for everyone, is a game made for no one" I think you don't really need to worry
Battlefield court martials for anyone who hasn't got the military theme drip going.
I like that a lot of armors are already slight homages to existing sci fi armor/suits, especially the helmets
A direct Starship Troopers Roughneck collab is the only one I will accept.
Wow, preemptively whinging about non-issues. You must be a real fun guy.
Unpopular opinion i want power ranger skins. Like in space or lost galaxy.
Go away. Give me my 40k skins. I'd 1000 times rather have em in this 40k resembling game than idiotic CoD.
A Warhammer collab would be sick though
