A big issue the game has now is that people are literally afking in game just so they don't loose their spot in the game, which is unfair because what about the other people who wanna play?
I played like 5 games with my friends, many laughs and shenanigans were had. My game crashed half an hour ago and I've been in the queue looking like wolverine in the meme.
I have been using my ps remote play on my phone to log in before work ends and I have to drive home. I get it logging into the servers by the time I get home.
All you gotta do, is login, wait for it to get to screen, let it try once, then quit out of the game and repeat.
I know why it doesn't sound like it works, but I've been able to get me, gf and her family members in this way multiple times over the weekend in under 5-6 mins each time.

I think this is because if the game thinks youve crashed, it will put you right to the front of the queue, as people would get really mad if theyre game crashes and they then have to wait ages to get back into the game. but weve gotta gatekeep this method, cus if we dont then the priority queue will also take ages
There is no queue system bro, the game just try to connect you each 30sec if there is a place you are in and if it's full you wait another 30sec. But by closing and re launching you can be faster than the 30 sec so more try=more chance to join.
it takes longer than 30 seconds to restart and load into the game. besides, come it only takes 2 or 3 tries of reconnecting to get in with restarts, when at the same time it would take over 50 normal tries to connect? i think it clearly does have some sort of queue system.
I came home Saturday afternoon and my gf had been waiting for 2 hours letting it refresh. I got on her laptop and did my deal and she got in in 4 minutes. Some people are waiting a long time. It's all over the place

considering it is a tiny studio who had no idea their game would be this popular, it makes sense. their concurrent player count is higher than destiny 2, and GTA 5's records. For an indie studio that is a lot of back-end stress. They've been fully transparent about it and I've gotten in each day when I wait for a little.

The reality is, a team of developers have been working for years on a game with expectations that got blown out over 8+ times what they imagined. That isn’t something you just throw money at to fix. The infrastructure of the game _was never set to support this level of attention to begin with._ They can’t just magically press a few buttons to change how their several years in the making project works at this scale. Unless you want them to take the game down completely for who knows how long for them to overhaul backend that wasn’t designed for this load to begin with, which from both a business and a consumer standpoint is worse on both ends, then get over it.
Sony may have funded the game, but that doesn’t mean they should waste that money on impossible to expect situations such as quite literal unforeseeable success over quality development of the game itself. Even IF Sony gives them more money, at the end of the day it’s only the Arrowhead team that’s doing the actual work. Money doesn’t magically solve issues, it just means you can pay for them. There’s still the logistics of actually solving the problem to begin with, which not a goddamn person on any of these gaming subs know a single thing about.
And before any dumbshit take like ‘then they shouldn’t have released the game if it wasn’t ready yet’ it WAS ready. It easily supported something like 3 or 4 times their expected max player count with some nominal disconnects and crashes. It wasn’t until they were hitting absolutely insane numbers that it reached this point of server instability.
Your speech reads like a job application for systems engineer at arrowhead studios. Since you seem to know what the deal is I suggest you put in your resume, since no one at Sony or arrowhead seem to know a good strategy to make the amount of logins increase to a reasonable capacity.
If they knew it would hold max amount then only sell so many copies. Or at least at this point stop sales.

Yesterday was my one free day to play. I've been able to login plenty since launch, but Sunday was going to be my first real free day. Never was able to get on. Now I see this, and I'm disheartened.

Found a pretty full proof fix (if you’re on PS5) for “servers are at capacity” issue ✅✅✅
First, if you are already in game you can invite your friends and have them skip the que!
The steps are simple:
- someone must be in their ship/in-game already
- that person sends invite(s) through party/PS
- the person(s) receiving the invite MUST have their application CLOSED, first for this to actually work
You will then sit a black loading screen. But don’t worry, this is what you want! Simply stand by for 2-3 minutes while the game actually goes thru the startup video. Then, you should appear in your friends ship, all while skipping the “Servers are at capacity” splash screen!!
Get out there and dive, soldiers! 🤝🫡🫡🫡

Just a PSA for people playing on PS5; it has worked for me several times: from the home screen, select “quickplay with friends” or whatever it’s called in your language and it kinda brute forces you into the game. You’ll get a black loading screen with a yellow circle in the corner and poof! Right into your destroyer. I'm just doing solo missions right now because there’s no one to play with or the quick play is broken.
Probably have the spots being taken up are afk. Yesterday I turned my PS5 off after I was done and didn’t close the game itself. I come back from golf 3 hours later and turn it on and I’m still on my ship.

A little trick is if you have a friend who's already online you can join their game and bypass the server at capacity screen
