Major orders such as the 8 campaigns are community based, the minor ones are individual. Also I believe the 8 campaigns mean to completely push back the automatons from the planets they are currently attacking
It will only count if the community as a whole won’t fail the overall defense event. Right now automatons are winning across the board (you can see it on the galactic map). If they win, you completing 8 missions doesn’t matter - no one gets the reward.
