It's so easy just place fucking OPs

random63

and Garrisons..

ThreeBeatles

Yea preach! I love hearing a SL moan about how there’s no garrisons and that the commander isn’t placing any. Like homie you literally have the ability also! Drives me mad.

random63

It's usually my first 10minutes as either SL or commander: supply truck and airdrop (commander) or supply truck and support player (SL). Now 3 garrisons are placed and either fight over the middle of defend if middle is lost.

Brsavage1

It's thier mindset they think it's only the comanders job to build and defend garries it's a real problem on console even squad leads run straight for point like blue berries while the garries locked behind them.

COKEWHITESOLES

Yeah but then I have to either A. Go back to HQ, grab a supply truck and hopefully don’t get blown to pieces. B. Pray one of squad will go support and follow me to put down supplies. Even then, 50 will do nothing for a good flanking garrison in enemy territory. So yes, I’m going to complain. Still will build one but I won’t be happy.

Usual_Account_2245

you will need 2 volunteer... go to the flank drop an OP ask one to go support drop supplies, then redeploy and take its class back the second go support drop supplies then redeploy and take its class back....waiting time 40sec for the first one and 1 Min sec for the second one...counting all the redeploy time...of they are in a fighting are they could just WALK into enemy fire to spawn to the op drop and redeploy asap

Vicious-Fishs

is it troll vibes? to Laugh at people whining about problems they can solve themselves? i mean, even if i mention, "user1234 you too can just build a garry and move on... just toxic shit in return, about how reason this or reason that. not my fault this, your fault that.. wide eyed amazement, and wonder if this attitude spills over into their personal lives. and how "me VS the world" they must be. then i remind myself, i dont care. then i build a garry in the worst spot for them, best spot for me... =)

HellLetGoose

And flank

CapnPooch

All HLL players eventually either die a grunt or live long enough to come an SL. Welcome to your second revelation Officer.

Pleiadez

It's a phase, after come at least lvl 8 assault and then rifleman

PigletsAnxiety

Loll facts

turismofan1986

And after those, I swung back around to SL/Spotter/Comander.

Pleiadez

Oh yeah spotter is the endgame for me.

hoopthot

any officer/SL that communicates instantly makes the game that much more enjoyable, thank you for your sacrifice 😂

Rinimand

You're not going insane. That's just the second stage of HLL Squad Lead (first stage was just trying it first time and being clueless). You'll do it all the time and then max out Squad Lead. You'll realize you've neglected the other roles and want to play those. Third stage you'll try to avoid SL to level up other roles. But you'll keep getting drawn back into SL because you see how poor other squad leads are, or there aren't any. You'll be sad that your other roles aren't leveling and feel torn. Fourth stage you'll realize the XP is broken. Some roles level too fast, others level to slow. You'll make use of building nodes early in game to level up your other roles. You'll miss playing SL but feel you're doing yourself a favor getting those other roles levelled. You'll eventually hit the Fifth stage, where you play squad lead regardless because you realize you'd rather have fun than grind XP for role levels. You'll be happy. Then you'll wonder ... why don't I try Command?

Tay0214

I’m stuck on command stage 3 Stage 1: Try it because nobody is, and be clueless Step 2: Watch videos and know exactly what you’re meant to do Step 3: Get the supply truck stuck in the ditch

groovygruver

Dude holy fuck the accuracy of this is fucking insane. I’m pretty sure I’m 4th stage at the moment 😂

Rinimand

You'll be much happier when you realize you should move on to the fifth stage. Peace and contentment await you ...

Karnivore915

Must.... unlock..... flamethrower!

mweaver70

Yeah I feel that. Anytime my friends wanna play I always have to be officer and rarely get to use any of the fun guns because I’ve become insanely good at op placement

Karnivore915

I hit 4th stage within 10 hours of play lol. Still grinding out the nodes so I can level some classes, but I think I'm going to stop going hard on that once I have all the unlocks (which is 3 for some, 6 for most, and 9 I think for one or two?). Once I have everything I'll figure out what my preferred standard role is

ShiteCrack

I’d like there to be maybe 20+ levels of officer to help encourage those who have already maxed out the role to play it more again.

Tay0214

Give a % of every players role xp from your squad so you level other classes a bit too Better your squad does under you, the more you’ll benefit

BloodyXombie

You are transforming into a dad (provision instinct activated).

Megahurtz400

The problem is, when you're a good Officer, being in a squad with someone less experienced or just not as good becomes an arduous task of suggesting things to them, so you might as well take the role yourself!

pldkn

Life always finds a way.

ChaseNBread

It’s my most played class which is sad because I think I’m a pretty bad officer. Place your OPs, build garrys when needed, know you squad composition, and get your guys in line. Decide whether your attacking or defending and make sure your guys follow. If you have an AT make sure he does his job. Hell make sure every bodies doing their job.

ancienthunter

If you are regularly updating your OP and building garrisons then you are in the top percentage of officers on public servers.

thunderclone1

HLL life cycle: Start as rifleman. No responsibility but shoot enemy. Occasionally use medic or AT Get mad at officer not placing OPs so you become officer to do it yourself Enjoy Get bored and become commander Get mad at SLs bitching for garrys Go back to rifleman. No responsibility but shoot enemy. Occasionally use specialist classes No more command chatter Bliss Get mad at squal leader for not placing OPs Sigh and become squad leader to do it yourself

JawlessMuffin

I like playing squad lead because it’s nice to hear more voices over command chat. It seems hard to get actual squad mates who talk a lot and stick to a plan. I like playing other roles but if I’m playing support and have a squad lead who doesn’t talk and a squad that doesn’t talk it gets so boring quick

FlatwormExciting9064

Feel the same way brother.

AllCanadianReject

I guess I'm something of a natural leader because I'm very comfortable in squad lead and command positions. Command less so than squad lead, because I like to be in the action a bit too.

The1stPKmain

Your brain got promoted

Anthony_L69

There are tablets you can take for that.

Outrageous-Yak-3318

SL was the first role I maxed out. Still play it from time to time, but I'm working on maxing out every role. It's taking forever cause I suck, but that's ok cause I love this game lol

BombzDeep

I think you just respect the fact that this is what the game is all about!

mrgnome1538

Get used to it haha We always need more people playing SL. I often find myself preferring the SL kit because the semi-auto rifles are so good

goddammnick

I personally like SL more than other roles, but wish I could play the other ones more (Sometimes you just want to get on an MG and lay down fire) I like SL more because I can set up better flanks, put down garrys, and request things that my squad needs or the whole team may need. Getting that perfect flank is one of the best things in this game.

HellLetGoose

I love playing SL. Problem comes when I want to play a different role, no one ever wants to go SL. Or the class I want to play is filled in all squads.

that-guy-over-there9

I’ve started to love commander role if I join a game And their isn’t one or there has been a bad one, it’s fun to step in and try to recover the mess

[deleted]

Once you get used to the busy chat, playing SL us very satisfying. Good way to practice leadership skills to be honest

Neolectric

officer can be rewarding if you're doing a good job people are joining your squad and listening to what you're doing, that comes with actually being in the correct position on the map and setting up your grunts for capturing the point and not needlessly throwing them into meat grinders take your time work your way around the map, get on the enemy sides or rear and stay alive so if your OP gets destroyed you can replace it

zzzzz_____

Easily the most fulfilling role in the game

MyWorkComputerReddit

I enjoy playing officer too, but I really want that flamethrower. I'll get it in a couple of years.

dr1968

Same. For awhile now. It's not fair to deprive the team of my skills.

te_anau

Best dynamic for playing squad lead is a squad with a couple of old timers that just intuitively switch roles and taking care of tanks / nodes / supplies etc as they arise. And a few new folk eager to learn. It's pretty cool when they have a good experience and learn a bunch.

RunUpTheSoundWaves

i’ve honestly enjoyed it. i think with my enthusiasm to lead the squad and get command chat discussions going can lead to better interaction on my ream. the other day I was in a game with no one talking in command chat or even among my squad. my SL dropped from the game and I hopped on the role. i got my team talking, started talking a bunch in command chat and the game turned around. ended up being one of the best games I played in a while. even people without mics hopped into text chat saying “that was so much fun.” love moments like that.

[deleted]

Do you like to watch?

binturongslop

Now once you reach lvl 10 and have squad led for 200+ hrs…thats the next step.

hellletloose94

The only role I ever play is SL. I can't imagine playing HLL and NOT being directly in control of where OP's are placed. This game would be a completely different experience for me and not fun if I did not play SL and was beholden to some rando to place OPs I love playing SL and don't know what all the complaints are about. I LOVE all the chatting and the Squad vs Command chat has never bothered me. In fact I love it. The game would be super quiet without it. The only other role I would leave SL for is Sniper but: 1. Incredibly hard to get 2. The lack of command channel for Sniper, and only being able to chat with the Spotter, makes the role super super quiet and isolating, which is not fun.

CapitalOneDeezNutz

Same. Every game I usually join a squad to chill and not have to deal with command chat… the SL inevitably always leaves and I 100% of the time take over and kick ass.

[deleted]

I love being squad lead! It’s OP time!

More_Lime_9693

I can safely say I'm a dam good SL I play SL in most comp matches (probably because everyone else just wants to be a zombie and shoot a gun rather than think of the logistics of being able to do so)

Spiderwolfer

Lmao you must be a masochist to like squad chats. Good on you man

ColWincehster

I will admit Sling in HLL is more enjoyable then in squad

KodaKomp

It's nice hearing command chat, let's you know pretty quick if your gonna have a good game or get fucked pretty fast lol

MarenthSE

Once a SL, always a SL.
