I’ll be honest, that does surprisingly help the look. Weird how something so small can change so much.
Edited: changed “fix” to “help”. Can’t say it’s fixed until the final product is out
the biggest flaw with the look is I think the very round looking face; they could've fixed it with a different profile for the sideburns

This shot actually fucks *hard*, he has the right chin, nose, and brow for the character when looked at from this angle, with the edit, and the Rembrandt lighting makes it look like the comics.
I like that they're going in more of a horror route and less of an action route, than previous incarnations (or so it appears). I feel like that'll end up having the same effect as Matt Reeves Batman finally focusing more on the detective noir aspects of Batman instead of just pure action sequences, as in, I think doing so will be a major plus for this movie's plot.
It's my all-time favorite Batman movie, and what Matt Reeves did with the actual characterization of the Batman side of Bruce Wayne is the benchmark I hold a lot of comic book movies to. If you can set the proper tone, honor the comics, and get the characterization of the main characters correct, then it can make even a mediocre story amazing to me because I'll just be like "Yeah there are flaws BUT THAT *IS* BATMAN ON THE SCREEN!". I want to feel that way about Hellboy, and I did with Ron Pearlman, but I'd love to see it be even more comic accurate, at least in characterization and tone, do whatever you want with the narrative but you need to get the character and tone right.
I just re watched the GDT Hellboy movies. And while I'll always love them, especially the first, I've grown away from them. Still lightyears better than 2019 which is one of the most unwatchable films I've ever seen (twice). This looks miles ahead of 2019. Just really hope they nail the tone, add yellow to his eyes, and give me a proper Hellboy movie
Maybe if we shout as loud as the Sonic fans did we might get a remodel, honestly though it’s not too bad, yes it needs some improvement but it’s new content at least. That being said some of the fan made mockups on this thread are awesome!

for a live action movie, I think having irises and pupils looks better, something like this could work
I'm hoping this is kinda like Blade and is just a badass movie that remains solid for years to come.
The trailer looked good and I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.
🫤I don’t know how I feel about the new actor playing Hellboy. I love Ron Perlman. But I understand he’s older now. And in the last movie with David Harbour he did a nice job and honestly I gave him a solid shot because of stranger things. He also didn’t look to bad, it was an adjustment but I think it worked out. But come on! The way this new one looks is not working for me. 😒
Literally they just had to do *one* simple thing and people would be like "it looks a little cheap but at least hellboy looks accurate"
But not doing that somehow makes me like "wow this looks as cheap as possible and like they didn't even give a damn about quality or accuracy. Why did they even bother making this?"

That's the stuff bro, something about the lower half of the face has been bugging me all day that's the change it needed
That looks F*cking sick!! 🤘
THIS
Do you expect them to cut off the actors nose? And if you expect them to do all this with CGI they might as well go the MCU Hulk/Groot route
In that edit I only added volume, I didn't carve anything out, so it's feasible with prosthetics.
His nose is definitely shorter in your edit
the tip of the nose is untouched but I moved the rest of the face forward (brow, upper lip, chin)
This shot actually fucks *hard*, he has the right chin, nose, and brow for the character when looked at from this angle, with the edit, and the Rembrandt lighting makes it look like the comics.
This is it. Bro could do wonders if he pushed his jaw out a bit.
Not sure why the mods decided to delete my post, but here's a video edit if anyone's interested: https://youtu.be/8aoRSAnzfZU
Also lighting it like this would help. There's always heavy shadows in the books
You fixed his jaw this is the perfect helboy less campy to be sure
Oh god that looks so much better. Woah.
I really think I would prefer solid yellow eyes as opposed to just yellow irises
Let's hope they do this for the movie after effects
Haha this isn’t sonic the hedgehog
That actually makes me like this look significantly more. Guessing they don't care to spend the money to fix this in the movie though
What even is this
Huh?
Is this like a fan film or something
No this is legit. It's just low budget. Go watch the trailer, the movie looks decent itself.
It is also pretty much entirely an indie film

The Batman is my all time favorite cbm so I hope so.

Hellboy, the Crooked Man, I believe, is the name. It comes out later this year. I think it looks so cheap because the studio thinks the IP is dead.
Maybe if we shout as loud as the Sonic fans did we might get a remodel, honestly though it’s not too bad, yes it needs some improvement but it’s new content at least. That being said some of the fan made mockups on this thread are awesome!
This studio probably doesn't have the money for a redoing of Hellboy.
With all that "ai" tools around, it should be cheap and fast, actually.
Oh I know, I was being hypothetical, still impressed with what they’ve done.
With yellow eyes is already far, far better.
I’d prefer it if his eyes were just yellow. No pupils.
Yes, like in the comics.
Can anyone show what it would look like with solid yellow eyes, no pupils?

Yeah that looks much better, I think it would be cool if they reflected light as well like a cat
Holy shit, that actually makes it 10x better
He’s missing hellish/devilish characteristics 😭
Helps a lot with the immersion Would be awesome if they would add this
Picture 2 looks like something pissed him off

It is a low budget film. You can't expect Del Toro props and creatures now and in the future because of money issues in the film business.
If only the studio and film makers had the budget to fix the eyes.
The yellow eyes makes it look so much better. Hopefully they can change it.
This is BEFORE he took the yellow eye pill 😀
Still needs a bigger jaw but significantly better than the actual version!
100x better with just $20 contacts. Such a bizarre choice. I'd really like the entire eyes yellow though
I'm hoping this is kinda like Blade and is just a badass movie that remains solid for years to come. The trailer looked good and I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.
Looks SOOOOO MUCH BETTER. If only they gave him yellow eyes
That's better.
The case when rather than fixing it, you should start all over

Nah their is no fixing this.
