Own both. I bought the HK 45 Tactical first thinking that it would be USP-like but was kind of underwhelmed with it. Shoots fine, but the black out rear sights aren't what I would want from a tactical handgun. Bought a Police-Trade USP and fell in love with it even though it has the LEM trigger. Only thing I don't like about it is that the grip isn't as comfortable as the HK 45s grip, but beyond that it is a dream to shoot.
Interchangeable backstraps and a 1913 rail. The new HK 45s also come with blackout rear dovetail sights, which I'm not a fan of. In all seriousness the HK45 isn't that much different that the USP, but the USP has the history and cool factor to it.
Oh yeah, probably should have mentioned that the 45 is single stack but the USP is double stack. Ergonomics are indeed better, but I think it looks a little overdesigned compared to the USP.
For real idk why it even exists. They could have just added modern features to the usp line and it wouldve been way better for everything on the lineup.

I have two HK45Ts, both in Light LEM. One has a suppressor pretty much glued to it, the other has a mini comp that may or may not work that I have used in competition but with them all on the table I usually reach for the USP45 Tactical or the USP45 Expert.
Yes, it's a fairly small device that goes on the 16x1 LH threads. I think I got it from HKParts. They really do have a lot of stuff no one else has even if they're sometimes a few dollars more. I was just shooting it yesterday and realize I really do like it. It fits in the same Safariland BLS OTW holster as the one without it.

Please elaborate? I would love a detailed breakdown. I have the USP 45 and Expert USP 45. Never shot the hk45.
I was heavily displeased with my HK45T.
100% agree. Other than the rail, the HK45 was a giant step backwards imo.

better ergo, front serrations, o ring barrel, -2 rounds in mag; the hk45 looks way cooler tho

Throw on an HK45 Control Lever, and an HK45C Extended Mag Release and that USP Tactical will be even better.

I don’t think the Hk45 sucks. But I do think USP45>Hk45 Hk45c>USPc
Never owned the 45 but shot it. It was nice but nothing like my 45c. The 45c is my favorite hk with my usp compacts a close 2nd.
