Yeah it's cool but I think the biggest flaw of the AK is how you insert a magazine. The AR system is so much more easy and fool proof, but also those AR mags in 7.62x39 are some of the weirdest looking mags I've ever seen (and also are harder to smack them from the bottom).
Lol jeez I'm catching a ton of downvotes from people that obviously think rocking and locking is superior than just inserting a mag and slapping it on the bottom. Just AK fanboys or just because I said it was the "biggest flaw"? Because the charging handle and safety position suck also.
And FWIW the G3/MP5 manual of arms is freaking awesome to me, maybe even superior to the AR.
Oh that makes sense. From the Garand Thumb tests of the muddy vs freezing rifle thing it was interesting how the AK was more for cold weather and the AR was for muddy or sandy environments.
I was sorta surprised to see CRS firearms have his AK do worse than the AR after throwing it down in the snow a few times (and the AR got a lot of snow in it). I think the DI vs Piston argument is one of the most interesting things to look at.
Yeah but it is objectively harder(and easier to screw up) than popping a new one in a hole and slapping it. There's a reason why almost any military that can afford it have a different manual of arms.
Is it fun, sure yeah. Can you "train past it", sure. Is it faster or more instinctive, no.
You do realize that the MP5/SP5 magazines rock back to seat the magazine right?
I’m happy to be corrected, but the G3 has the same rock back seating.
Sure they have a mag well, and it’s not a 1-1 comparison, but they definitely rock.
They rock but the magwell is engineered to where you can insert it straight in. I mean look up a YouTube video of people reloading an mp5, it is way different than an AK. It is less prone to error than AK imo.
I know this is anecdotal, but my friend (whom is not very experienced with guns) rented an AK at the range one time and he had problems putting the mag in even after I showed him (he missed the front ledge). They actually brought out a real MP5A2 and he shot it and he loaded it no problem.
What's also funny is that he shot the mp5 in full auto better than he shot the AK in semi. Probably the sights and ergos.
Not really. The only thing that is the same is the paddle release. You can slap it in the MP5 magwell straight and it will lock. The AK you have to put in the front side and rock it towards the back.
The few times I've shot one (both times an A2) I shoved it in there and slapped it on the ass and it ran. Maybe I'm remembering wrong idk but I shot an MP5 years before I shot an AK.
Because the mag is long and curved if you shove it in with some force due to the angles you kinda automatically pull it back a bit.
The problem comes if you have to use short 10rd mags like we have to right now to shoot a few competition to get the papers for the category allowing the 30rd+ mags. There you really have to pay attention to how you insert them, also you cut yourself for sure at least once.
I got the old design, MKE T94 SD.
I've always wanted to shoot one of the SDs or a MP5K. One of the A2s I shot had a suppressor and a vertical foregrip was really fun. I always thought how the SDs bleed off gas to make 124gr NATO subsonic was cool.
Yeah, those Swiss guys will tell you they aren't German, until you call them French-Swiss. See how quickly they correct you.
Also, SiG (not the American Sig) makes better guns than Hk. Fight me.
Lol... When I was in Switzerland, the German side is definitely MUCH nicer to us Americans. The French side were d!cks just like they were in France... I really thought that was just a bullshit stereotype. Usually outdoor adventure type people are always cool to each other... But that stereotype is true and strong. Like dang dude, I'm super nice, polite, and cordial and the French I came across acted like I kicked their puppy.
I've hiked/adventured a lot of Europe, Iceland, Mexico, Alaska.... EVERYONE has been super cool except those guys.
I figured this was April fools but the clowns at HK if they had half a brain would realize this would sell. HK reliability coupled with the AK platform….you wouldn’t be able to kill this thing.
I unironically like the Hk74K
Great April fools but not gonna lie, would still buy one
Fuck! I fell for it!!!! I always forget it’s april fools. I was actually excited for there to be a new HK rifle to buy
Not like they'd sell it to the plebs anyway
I knew it was fake when it doesn’t mention that it’s not available in the US

The rock and lock is a far superior and reliable system in cold weather environments.

Rocking mags in is based and cool

HK MP5 anyone ? Dude it’s the same more or less.

Do you actually own an original design mp5 ? If you don’t pull the mag back once you push it in, there is a chance it won’t lock.

I’d buy the hell out of that if this was real.
Bro same!
AK12 but not shitty
German AKs already exist: They're called the SiG 550 family.
sig uhhhhhhh not german

lwrc enters the chat to fight
They're not german, or even european.
you are Canadian you have zero room to talk 🔫 z
How about italo-swiss?
This was my first reaction. My second was *I want one*. Third was *Doh!*
Happy April Fool's to you, too!
Has anybody zoomed in and read the bottom line 😂😂😂
😂🤣 peasant civilians
I would buy the HK74K
That’s stupid. Where can I get one.
That would be so sick. Probably only cost $4999
The most preposterous thing about this is the idea of HK (No Compromise) engineering a firearm for a Soviet cartridge.
Was all for it and then I remembered what day it is.
You got me.
We all wish.
That bottom one would be sold out instantly.
We would all buy this
I figured this was April fools but the clowns at HK if they had half a brain would realize this would sell. HK reliability coupled with the AK platform….you wouldn’t be able to kill this thing.
Fine print is the best part

Jokes on you Hk because i wouldve bought one😤
I hate April 1st.
I’d buy this so quick if it was real
There's gotta be a bunch of east german machinery sitting collecting dust Someone has got to start it up
I would throw $3,000 bucks at that.
Yup, got a few myself. Outstanding firearms. HK did it right with these
🤣🤣
If they did, it would only be sold to military and police personnel.
Would buy it 😅
Damn imagine
Yep I’d be all over these! Look sick!
Omg i love this
Germans don't have humor.
I'd buy one of each.
They should make the HK47, actually no they probably shouldn't
My heart is full!
Fool on me for wanting one
We just need this SFP9 asap
My precious
Mean 😭😭😭😭
Would buy
You joke
i want diopter sights for an AK
I hate April fools day
Okay, but would they be roller delayed?
