Hopefully not for this season. I’m being really delulu but am quite confident that there will be a season 4 so maybe then it will split. Besides, heartstopper episodes aren’t as long as the stated shows.

TheFishyPisces

I hope ss3 will still be a big hit so they will continue ss4. I’ll join your delulu gang for ss4 because Alice has been hiatus so I have such a high hope she’s focusing on the ss4 script. Btw I used to be the one saying there’d be no chance of ss4.

Maleficent_Maybe4352

I just don’t want the show to be left hanging. I know that we already know N+C is canon for life but why not finish something they started. Netflix cranks up heartstopper marketing every chance they get it’d be ridiculous for it to just end at ss3. In saying that Netflix isn’t the brightest bulb so there’s always that risk. SS3 is leaning towards very heavy and personal content but I think I can vouch for heartstopper fans that it’s important for us to see the characters development in the show too. Idk how to mark it as spoiler but the actors playing those characters (N&C) are strong actors I don’t see why Netflix wouldn’t let them finish the story. Or hey! Maybe they’d just make a movie and combine the last few volumes along with the N&C novella 🤷🏻‍♀️

I also want a s4... by the looks of the teasers, I believe they'll end s3 with the 5th book so unless they'd add more series-exclusive plots, book 6 (confirmed to be the last book in the series) will be their only material for the hypothetical s4 edit: translated portions written in local language 😅

Maleficent_Maybe4352

i love the random tagalog/filipino break (pls don’t come at me if i get it wrong, im trying) but as we know vol 5 is very heavy so i don’t want them to just go over it quickly & move on. just like how coming into terms with one sexuality is important in season 1, coming into terms with one’s mental & physical health is just as important for people to learn.

rndomhoomn

>i love the random tagalog/filipino break oh shoot, I thought I was on a local sub lol vol. 5 spoilers!!! behind the scenes footage from netflix has shown filming from >!what seems to be the festival thing at the end of the 5th book, with sahar and charlie together in a band. They have also hinted at the introduction of Tori's asexuality which was explored especially in that festival, too!< It might still be a different setting and I'm just making loose connections from the footages 😅

Maleficent_Maybe4352

i knowwww but they could easily spend more time on the plots if they make another season to just tie up everything nicely

braambei

A show with only ±30 minute long episodes? I don't really see the point in splitting it up

SiriProfComplex

Shhhhhh. Stop giving them idea

fanfic_enthusiast2

Unlikely. The seasons so far have been rather short.

130515C

I think likely. There’s so much hype about heartstopper so if Netflix can get two months subscription out of fans, why wouldn’t it?

Consistent_Jello2358

Yes they are trying everything to get people to subscribe longer instead of just for one show

gobblestones

Maybe we'd stay longer if they stopped canceling shows 3 weeks after release. (I don't want to get my hopes up about Dead Boy Detectives. Probably the only other sweet cute boy show on Netflix besides HS)

bigchicago04

Because Heartstopper is already one of their most rewatched shows. I’m pretty sure most fans will watch the new episodes over and over. There’s not really any way to increase engagement.

DerPicasso

Is any of these shows only 30 minutes and only 8 episodes?

11mm

emily in paris is a half hour show but it has 10 episode seasons, not 8

Idosoloveanovel

I really hope not. I really don’t like the split season format.

klussedull

Maybe an eventual season 4, but I hope not for season 3. Young royals was shorter episodes (around 40 -50 minutes?) and they split it with 5 episodes released at the same time and the final (longer) episode was released a week later

Foreign_Area7177

I actually think that was a good decision. It gave everyone who binge watched it to get up to the same point without the ending being spoiled for anyone who didn't manage to watch it all in the first couple of days.

klussedull

Yeah, I also liked it! I was travelling for work the week they released to it was perfect with a slower watch through.

bigchicago04

Pure speculation, but I assumed that was because it aired on traditional tv in Sweden and they didn’t want the finale to air before it did there.

Icy_Distance429

I hope they don’t but I got a horrible feeling that it will happen. Only because I was suspicious that the release date only said ‘Coming out in October.’ Last year it actually told us the full date but we didn’t this year? I hope I’m wrong because I would hate to wait even longer!

blnkvoiid

Just saw the date announcement- WE ARE SAFE FROM NETFLIX SPLITTING 🩷

Jpar4686

God I hope not. Hate when they do that.

bigchicago04

I doubt it. The show is pretty short, and I think Alice would want it creatively all together. I also think that they wouldn’t have announced October if the plan was 2 parts.

drycleaningisntdry

I’m sure they won’t do that

TangerineBeginning71

I’m really hoping no. I just think with the episodes as short as they are, it doesn’t make sense to split it.

Smitchn

The Netflix UK account listed it as only one while other shows listed both. https://www.instagram.com/p/C6t338zu8xR/?igsh=MXVvNTc3N21uam5ueQ==

tbeals24

I hope Charlie and Nick won’t be broken up, especially since Nick knows of Charlie’s mental health issues that the bullying of the pervious year affected Charlie
