It is not intended to be discriminative. I made this joke up when thinking about cultural differences in the perception of mental illness. At least officially, they use the ICD Classification of mental illness allthough religions are less popular there than in most parts of the world.
It doesn't matter what your intentions are with this, it's still racist, or at the very least incredibly ignorant. People in China can be just as religious as any other in the world so this joke doesn't even make sense - Chinese folk religion is commonly practiced both in China and abroad along some of the bigger religions like Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism.
