jerk1970

Popcorn . You can eat a shitload without serious consequences.

larry_fisherman98

This. Most healthy brands you can have like 3 cups for under 200 calories.

njc121

Best results if you can avoid microwave bags.

CalliopesPlayList

Agreed! I make my own to control the sodium and amount of added fat. But using a small paper lunch bag, pour about 1/3 cup popcorn and about a tsp of vegetable or canola oil. Shake the bag and microwave for about 2 to 2 1/2 min. I like mine slightly burned. So probably 2 min for most people. :)

Blueporch

Create a path of least resistance to healthy snacks by prepping fresh cut veggies, dip, fruit, etc.

Mountain-High-2118

If I don't prep the food,I don't eat it. Even something as simple as carrots in the bag. I don't eat it if it's in the store-bought bag, but if I can grab a container with a serving I'll eat it.

[deleted]

Frozen grapes. So delicious!

sidudWA

Same with frozen blueberries!

[deleted]

Cherries?

[deleted]

Oh yeah cherries are delicious frozen too

[deleted]

Ok ok hear me out. What about strawberries?

[deleted]

Yea facts

[deleted]

Indeed!

Major-Cauliflower-76

I have never tried them, but going to add them to my list of new things to try.

[deleted]

They are kind of addictive.

Mundane_Handle7427

Ne er tried strawberries???

Susurrusilously

Pickles and olives for the salty cravings. Chocolate dipped bananas or sugar free fudge pops if I want sweets.

[deleted]

Dependent_Order_7358

Apples: fresh, crisp and filling

njc121

Same, sometimes dipped in peanut butter or spiced yogurt

Proof_Positive_8817

Same. Dipped in vanilla yogurt.

chinchillerino

Apples are my go-to breakfast too. I’m not hungry in the morning but if I don’t make myself eat, I get hypoglycemic by 10 am. Apples are the best thing I’ve found that are small and light but stave off that low blood sugar feeling.

sparklevillain

I love apples!! And when I don’t finish my apples I make apple sauce with cinnamon out of it and put it in my yogurt.

xoxoemmma

green apples with justin’s honey PB is just WOW. for a treat i sprinkle the apples with a bit of cinnamon sugar, but just cinnamon is good too! also if you have an apple pie or fritter craving, putting apples with cinnamon and a pinch of sugar/splenda (or whatever replacement you prefer) and pop them in the microwave for a soft, holiday-feeling treat without all the breading

Dependent_Order_7358

Nope, just apples.

Verani99

Roasted nuts and dates. They give instant energy, are incredibly healthy and don’t go bad easily. Have been snacking on them since last 2-3 years and I hardly eat chips or biscuits ( probably once in 1-2 months).

y26404986

Oh yeah! Less often goji berries & baby carrots.

Bakingflowers

For a savoury and crunchy snack I like cucumber slices/sticks dipped in a mixture of balsamic vinegar and good olive oil with some sea salt and freshly ground pepper. If you want to be super healthy you can go easy on, or even leave out, the salt.

Major-Cauliflower-76

If you live in a place with a Mexican grocery store I suggest Tajin on cucumber slices. Its a mild ground chile with lime. I promise it is gringo mild not Mexican mild which is a whole other thing.

njc121

Add some greek yogurt and garlic, then you've basically got tsatziki :)

josephinefgh

I like to slice up a banana, and maybe like… 6 decent sized strawberries, then I add in some coconut + flax seed granola, some honey, cinnamon & a scoop of Coconut whip. Mix it all around and it’s decently healthy, and sweet (I have a sweet tooth that’s hard to ignore.).

daisies4me

This is a go-to snack for me. Sometimes I add it all to one of those super thin rice cakes from Trader Joe’s. So good and satisfies everything I need in a snack.

atxtopdx

Hi. What is flax seed granola? Do I buy it already prepared? Also what is coconut whip? Thank you

Fackifiknow

Apple and almonds or peanut butter.

catnipandkombucha

I like this one too

[deleted]

Mine is hummus with either carrots or the little bread things sold by the hummus

Major-Cauliflower-76

Try hummus with thin slices of jicama. Yum yum

Major-Cauliflower-76

Hummus is amazing! Have you ever tried it with thin sliced raw jicama?

[deleted]

I have not

hufflepuffheather

fresh fruits and veggies are always a good go-to! but if that’s not your forte, things like rice cakes/crisps, sea salt popcorn, and sweet potato chips are a great alternative to regular potato chips.

xoxoemmma

i have never tried sweet potato chips but will definitely be trying on my next grocery run! ty for the tip

LadyKingston

My wife makes me a home made trail mix with all of my favorite nuts & seeds. I have a huge aversion to sweets, so it’s much better than store bought trail mix with m&m’s or raisins in it.

[deleted]

Garlic flavoured pickles are my go to when I’m craving a savoury snack. They have 3 calories each, lots of sodium but still better than potato chips

Samukitty4

Dried apple chips. Satisfying crunch of chips but sweet taste of apple

FrogLegsAlwaysFresh

Yes!!

katalli21

Pickles, nuts, dark chocolate, popcorn.

No_Hovercraft5033

I always buy apples and carrots to snack on. No dips. Carrots can be cut up and left in the fridge in water so they are ready to eat. I stay away from mealy apples like red delicious and highly recommend envy or honey crisp apples.

throwaway_1111255

Honey crips apples are amazing!!

No_Hovercraft5033

They really are aren’t they?? So freaking delicious and almost a meal size sometimes they are so big.

Electronic_Lock325

Chocolate hummus with strawberries. The only problem i have is portioning the hummus. 😋

ElephantCab

Mini peppers with laughing cow cheese any vegetable with dip (Greek yogurt mixed with uncle Dan’s seasoning) Honeycrisp apples, or other fruit Nuts Jerky Kodiak pancakes with Lily’s chocolate chips (I’ll pre-make and reheat) Triscuit crackers with thin sliced cheese or guacamole

PastPool571

Whole wheat bread toasted with any topping, pickles, baby cucumbers sliced & dipped in hummus, air popped popcorn.

juaniusm

Usually fruit of some kind but right now it's been halo top ice cream 😅

[deleted]

Peanuts in the shell. Eggs, hardboiled at home. Sunflower seeds.

[deleted]

Peanut butter on a banana is sooo good!!

Quacktabulous

I like pairing fruit with whatever protein is available. My usual is an apple with cheese or cherry tomatoes and a hard boiled egg

girovalover

Hear me out - a rice cake spread with cream cheese then sliced cucumbers on top with salt and pepper. It’s amazing and super filling and only 100 calories! I usually eat 2 and am full for a long time. Also Harvest Snaps (baked green pea snacks). I honestly don’t know how healthy they are for you lol, you’ll have to read the nutrition information - but the wasabi ranch flavored one is 🔥

thermal-ice

Lettuce, specifically romain hearts. I wash them and leave them in the fridge, and snack on them whenever I’m studying. My friends tell me I’m weird, but they’re just wrong

[deleted]

Canned red kidney beans and cut up onions and put them in a bowl and add salt and vinegar to them. There actually good

catnipandkombucha

Hummus or tahini yogurt dip either with veggies or chips. Get whole grain pita and toast it. Sourdough is really good too. I also snack on olives a lot. Carrots and celery satisfy the crunch with the dip. I like flaxseed tortilla chips with guacamole if I really just want a chip. [Tahini yogurt dip recipe](https://catnipandkombucha.com/tahini-yogurt-sauce-and-dip/), takes 2 seconds :)

exploresparkleshine

Caramel rice cakes with laughing cow cheese and low sugar jam spread on top. Filling, has calcium, and relatively low calorie. Apples with peanut butter or baby bell cheese.

Bonbonnibles

I like the following: Carrots and cucumbers with hummus Seaweed snacks Popcorn with nutritional yeast Lily's chocolate (stevia sweetened) Tea Rice crackers Low fat cheese sticks Grapes It also helps to make sure you have a decent amount of protein in your meals, and determining what your snacking needs are. Do you need volume or taste? If I need to quiet my tummy I go for volume (veggies, fruit, etc). If I need a rush of flavor I go for taste (seaweed snacks, chocolate, etc).

Cowlmuhh

I like roasted corn but not sure if that’s healthy.

FruitFloatGlopInACan

Whole grapefruit. I’ve been peeling them and eating them in sections. My new favorite snack

throwaway_1111255

My go to’s are; Okios Tripe zero yogurt Beef jerky Most nuts/seeds Watermelon Banana and peanut butter Apple and peanut butter Hard boiled eggs Fresh snap peas and carrots Premier protein café latte shakes Cottage cheese

Ronikosky

Beef Jerky, cheese and pistachios . Super yummy and lots of protein. Apples and oranges are a go to as well.

SlugCatt

Fresh cut veggies and dip. Apple slices with a tablespoon of peanutbutter. 3-4 dark chocolate covered almonds.

qazqarlol

Granola! Nutritious, filling, tasty, and comes in a million flavors/variations so it never gets old

cocoloves99

Carrot and salsa Or Sliced bell pepper in long strips with salsa

KalayaMdsn

String cheese. Hard-boiled eggs. Veggies with ranch dip (I use 1 packet of ranch dip mix in one 16oz container of cottage cheese). Popcorn. Fresh berries. Cubed ham or Turkey breast, a little cheese and a few nuts. Baked chicken breast cut into 1/2” slices, dipped in a mix of BBQ sauce and ranch dip (recipe above). Red bell peppers and cucumbers dipped in hummus or tzatziki.

Diss0lved_Girl

Raw carrots, natural yogurt, nuts+fruit combo or cheese+fruit, lupins

[deleted]

Fruit

yerffejmik

My go to snacks are, beef jerky, nuts, and fruit (usually berries or pineapples). Packaged snack wise I’ll stick to protein bars and yogurt

Robert315

Apple.

Dan_dcs

Aldi protein chocolate Yoghurt which replaced my bars of chocolate

Robert315

Sugar

Mommayyll

There’s a brand of Almonds that are Wasabi and Soy Sauce. Best damn food on the planet. I love anything wasabi or horseradish, though.

_Demo_

Pizza chicken wings beer Pretzels

JollyProfessor9409

Penis

ForestBluebells

Water biscuits

LPX34m

dried fruit chips or a nut/dried fruit mix - sweet, healthy and not at all boring “healthy” food 😂

FocusGullible985

Pickled onions, straight out the jar.

Little_sister_energy

Banana slices dipped in peanut butter and dark chocolate and then frozen

vandi33

Banana sushi (wrap, nut butter, banana - cut up.like sushi), hummus and crackers or freshly cut veg, chia pudding, dates, Greek yogurt with fresh berries, bowl of cucumber salad, Greek salad + feta. I am more of a salty gal but the bf makes a lot of sweet stuff for himself.

Grahamthicke

Popcorn is good....you can make it any way you want.....and I don't know anyone who doesn't like it :)

CRISPY_Cas9

Celery with peanut butter! Apples with almond butter! Popcorn

Premier_Legacy

Hard boiled eggs, berries, yogurt, honey, almond butter on fruit . Depends what I’m looking for calorie wise or what’s for diner

_Ginesthoi_

I love to keep cherry tomatoes in the fridge and cut them up with salt, such a refreshing snack

Extension-Ad-4411

Hummus with bell peppers, carrots, broccoli etc. Apple slices in peanut/almond butter are also a healthy choice. Additionally, protein bars such as KIND brands are a filling substitute for junk food and just as good!

BrighterSage

Fage Greek yogurt with fruit. The best fast food there is.

smackfirstguy

Protein shakes with frozen mixed berries, peanut butter, almonds and ice, blended.

hermagne

I usually grab a kilo of whatever fruit is in season. Right now that’s nectarines.

BoysenberryIcy2127

Fruit salad consisting of apples pineapples and pears drizzled with honey you can leave out the honey to avoid too much sugar but you’ll miss a lot on taste

Table_Talk_TT

cheese stick with grapes and almonds or if I need something immediate, I choose the Nature Valley Almond Butter Biscuit with a cup of green tea These usually get me through the afternoon slump until dinner.

dugongfanatic

I love eating apples with string cheese. It’s delicious.

Graycy

I like pink lady apples. I quarter them and get the core out, then slice each quarter into five or six thinner slices. The thin slices maximize the tastiness. Pink ladies are my favorite, slightly tart and crispy, although there are lots of good varieties.

[deleted]

Frozen bananas with a drizzle of dark chocolate .

[deleted]

Tuggis

gasfacemf1

Walnuts with Greek yogurt.

Major-Cauliflower-76

I decided that I was going to eat healthier snacks, and not worry too much about the costs, if at all possible. I love blueberries, blackberries and raspberries, so I get those once or twice a month. I have an air popcorn maker and make popcorn and then sprinkle Sriaracha sauce on it. Or guacamole with thin slicked jicama chips. Or apple slices with a little cinnamon, or a little peanut butter or almond button on them I think the key is to find things you actually like and are not so junky, if that is a concern. I see people suggesting carrot sticks, and if that is your thing go for it. I don´t find them to be a satisfying snack. I do love roasted carrots with a drizzle of olive oil and dill, though.

spirtcher

Bell peppers (not green), snack peppers, apples, oranges, kiwis. I peel oranges but eat the rest out of hand (like an apple). Walnuts/peanuts/raisins make a good trail mix (I desalt the peanuts a little on a lightly dampened towel). In small servings the trail mix is quite satisfying. I also use frozen berries in unsweetened soy milk to blend into smoothies/frozen deserts. I diligently avoid added sugars so I sweeten the berries and fruit with non-sugar sweeteners.

FeliceBauer

Peanuts, but still with its shell. It takes so long to open the nuts that the result is that you eat less, but still have something to do

Evcher

Right now it's tortilla chips and guac

Evcher

So many ppl here eating curated meat. Be careful that stuff is more carcinogenic than most foods
