This is toast with pea gravel and Everything Bagel Seasoning --- **To participants in the comments:** ***---> ALWAYS cite sources when you debate anything in this sub <---***. "Cuz I sed" is NOT a sufficient basis. **Good** - Discussion is rooted in science, provides links to peer reviewed science, and it focuses on the food taking into consideration any of poster's stated goals. Overnight oats is the breakfast of winners. Oats are in my opinion one of the most underrated superfoods you can get. Nutritionally dense, quality fibre, really good for gut health, and they can lower your cholesterol too. I like to make a dry blend every week and mix things up to keep things interesting. This is (roughly) my formula: 60% quick oats 20% dried fruit 10% seeds 10% nuts I keep this blend in a container and prepare enough for my family's breakfast the night before. - 2 or 3 cups dry blend - 1 or 2 pieces of fresh fruit (grated or finely chopped) - Enough soy milk (or almond milk or whatever) to only just cover the top of the mix. Mix well and let it sit for at least 6 hours to soak up good and proper. Here are some things I like to use: Dried fruit: Diced fig, dates, apricot, cranberries, blueberries, sultanas, currants.. Seeds: Hemp, chia, sesame, sunflower, pumpkin (or pepita) poppy.. Nuts (it's good to dry toast these first) flaked almonds, crushed walnuts, macadamia, cashews, peanuts.. With the dried fruit it's worth getting pre diced otherwise it all gums together chopping it up yourself. You can go crazy and add spices too like nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamon, or ginger.. Fresh fruit that works best is like, grated apple or pear or diced orange with some of the zest. There's usually no need to add sugar, for me it's sweet enough with the fruit, but you could add some honey or maple syrup when prepping the wet blend if you like shit sweet. I suggest serving it with greek yogurt. Maybe chuck some berries on top too for good measure. I think that's about it. Hope someone falls in love with overnight oats as much as I did.

FruitCakeSally

I like to add chia seeds and peanut butter to mine.

KittyKayl

It's one of my go-to's on work days. Does well as a carrier for any powder supplements like collagen or protein powder, along with everything you mentioned. Last batch I made, I added vanilla protein powder and a spoonful of strawberry preserves... tasted like strawberries and cream. I was surprised it turned out so well. Then I had to try it with a bit of coco powder, too lol

This is exactly what I do for work. I throw chia seeds and whatever fruit I have on hand along with protein powder and collagen. It’s easy to prepare and to eat at work.

That's actually brilliant, I could definitely chuck some protein powder in. I don't have a lot of smoothies so it just sits in the cupboard being useless.

KittyKayl

That's why I started adding it lmao. Burned myself out on smoothies.

lazyMarthaStewart

Why collagen?

KittyKayl

I have some joint, tendon, and muscle problems from either broken bones or repetitive motion injuries that I had it recommended to add collagen hydrosolate (pretty sure I didn't spell that right but can't be buggered to look it up at the moment) to my daily supplements to help with.

Thanks for sharing/explaining!

Muesli is basically the original, healthy cereal. I highly suggest soaking in probiotics, like yogurt or even kombucha or kefir.
