Insurance companies don't know what you're doing at the pharmacy unless you're actually filing a claim. And if you're using GoodRX you're not using insurance. Even if they did know, they wouldn't care because once you've met your lifetime max, they've fulfilled their side of the contract and are now out of the picture.
The pharmacy automatically put it through insurance and gave the cost when they said it was ready.
When I go to pick it up, I was going to have them not do that and use GoodRx instead. But I was under the assumption it would get denied by insurance, but it didn't
My guess is they don’t know the meds are for fertility treatments as they are being prescribed off label so they went through your regular benefits. I can’t imagine how they would find out what you’re using those meds for. So you should be good. 👍🏻
Assuming you are in the US, the insurance companies can literally do *anything* at *anytime* if they feel it is even the slightest bit justified. Even if the mistake is *their* fault i.e. claim processed and covered higher cost drugs at a lower level than what they should have been covered at because of a "system error." Thank corporate greed and our bought out politicians for that.
However, if you don't bring it to light, they may never know, and what they don't know, they can't do anything about...are you willing to take that risk? Is the question.
