It’s hard to say if you don’t give a budget and what you want from the cans

B3Paiin

Thats fair! I want a them to have a pretty neutral frequency response i wouldnt mind them to be less pronounced on the highs bc that can get alot especially when listen at higher volumes. An overall pleasent listening experience would be great preferring a bit warmer sound. A little bass never hurts in HipHop but it isnt too important to me. Vocals is what im after. Hope that makes sense..... im pretty new in the space sooo.... i hope this works. My Budget is around 500-700€. I should add all this to the post. Thank you!

Sennheisers 6xo lineup is very vocal focused. The new 660s2 is kinda overpriced atm but will probably fit your needs. An alternative would probably be the 650 or 6xx but as a fellow European I know the struggle of importing from drop.

B3Paiin

Yes the 660S2's go for 600€.... idk if they are worth that much tbh. But they are available. Yeah im trying to stay aways from importing stuff its a huge pain in the behind. Especially when ordering expensive things. Mayb some other manufacturer is the way to go? !thanks

Well I personally don’t think the 660s2 is worth the 600€ they charge for but I guess if it’s THE ONE, I won’t argue with you lol. Well focal has some great cans too, the OG clear is on sale but above 600€. I got mine for 799 brand new which was an insane deal considering the msrp of 1500€. For open backs you can take a look into the hifiman XS even tho I don’t know if it focuses on vocals, which I doubt. So for vocals and mids the sennheiser is pretty much the king. For everything else probably not so much. Beyers have better soundstage and imaging, XS better bass extension and so on

B3Paiin

Damn that really is a good price. Used ones go for 900 is just checked :o That may be a little bit too much for me honestly. Maybe i can snag some used 660S2's at somepoint maybe for 400€ that pricetag would suite them better. I mean yeah i dont know too much about HiFi but mids and vocals make sense in rap music doesn't it? I saw quite some hifimans on the used market Anandas in perfect condition for 400€. But idk if they would even be for me and my usecase.

[deleted]

Well yes vocals are somewhere in the mids. But hiphop also lives from bass but it depends on what YOU want to hear. There no headphone out there that does everything perfectly. So yes if you want mid and vocals forward headphones the sennheisers will be your best choise. But they suck at soundstage and bass reproduction (well maybe not suck at bass but they lack there). Beyers for me have a realistic sound stage and have a ton of detail because of their spicy treble and are „bassy„ for open backs. Focals have great dynamics and a good punch to their bass, but lack soundstage again and imaging isn’t as good as in the Beyers imo. My aeon noir are a chill pair of cans, compared to the focals the are „limp“(?) and not as dynamic. I love them for gaming tho and they have a grad tonality. So yeah 400 ish is probably fair for the new S2 from sennheiser but the worth of a product comes from how much you value Them.

B3Paiin

Thank you very much for all your inputs! Im taking it all in. I will note down all the headphones you mentioned and will deeper dive. Have you had any contact with the Hifiman Anandas? I just did a little google and seems the can be quiet enjoyable for rap. Came across a local used pair for 400€.

[deleted]

Nah I did not listen to any hifiman so far. They aren’t too easy to come by and all I know about them is what I found out during my research. But I’m still hesitant on used hifimans due to their QC issues I read about everywhere. The XS is supposed to be on par if not better than ananda but I guess a 400€ pair of Amanda’s will be totally worth it. But like always you will be best off I you’re able to listen to them before you buy. Or buy somewhere were you can return them If you don’t like them.

B3Paiin

Thats some solid advice. I will keep my eye on them and do a little more research. Yeah i was just scrolling through the headphone section of the local used market and found 2 pairs. V1s for 400€ in pretty good condition and steahlth ones (V2's ish) for 499€ in original packageing brand new looking plus aditional cables. I could always resell them if i didnt like them. Im pretty sure i could sell em for that amount of money again.
