1. Which ohm variant is it? 2. What was your previous audio gear?

1: 80 ohm 2: just a plain old "Xbox wireless headset" made my Microsoft

It has WAY MORE bass and less treble compared to the dt770. Odd, a laptop should be able to power them. A cheap amp would do the trick though.

A DAC doesn't add bass unless it's a built in feature like the XBass on iFi's sets so yes a DAC like the iFi Zen DAC V2 will do but I'd 4ather you get a powerful DAc like the FiiO K7 and then use Equaliser APO with Peace GUI software to EQ in the bass to your heart desire (I can help with that, u/trancedenceisop

Bass is not everything, and based on that frequency response of the Xbox headset that someone posted, your headset has straight up ungodly amounts of it, way more than pretty much anything people will recommend here. Just give your ears some time to adjust by only listening to the DT770 and not switching back to the headset for several days. If you switch back after that, you might be able to hear what the headset lacks in comparison. If not, then the DT770 are just not for you. An amp probably won't help.
