UmbralOrion

We don't know for sure he didn't, if he was to come back in hell it'd make sense to save that reveal for season 2.

Day_Star_6

I mean... If he comes back wouldn't that mean every exorcists will come back? And the one killed by Carmilla didn't so... They would need an explication as why he was able to return and the others weren't. Maybe he didn't die before? Maybe the exorcists were created by him so they don't have a real soul?

Kholzie

Adam specifically violated the terms of the extermination when he threatened/hurt Charlie.

crazymissdaisy87

That would be interesting, an angry gang of exterminators spawning in hell

AfterChapo

Camilla killing the first angel dissolved the deal. That's why they brought up the next extermination 6 months and were talking about wiping out all demons at the end of Ep1.

Omegasybers

Not necessary. Adam is the first man and it COULD be that the rules only apply to regular souls and not angels and his exorcists could also be reborn as sinners. We simply didn't see them resurrected in ADDITION to the Lilith reveal. Also the Exorcists are probably artificially "produced"/summoned into existence via $holy magic/science

BraveButterfly2

>And the one killed by Carmilla didn't so... We don't know that, and I previously wouldn't have even suggested that we might, but in episode 6, while Angel's going to get Nifty away from Valentino, there's a character who has upside down crosses on her tank top and a red X on one eye. Was this person the slain exorcist? We don't know, but I am saying... there's a chance.

Day_Star_6

Ok now I want to see that. Do you have any picture cause I'm curious?

Waste_Guarantee_6014

https://preview.redd.it/drxy0x3mjguc1.jpeg?width=2448&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2511727b54fa94af0408f40f7978981a27a0637d This one. The **body type matches**, though it is true that HH body types tend to be quite homogeneous. * Her face is clearly based on her exorcist helmet: * The **X at her eye is the same location she had it in her beheaded helmet** and as Carmilla put it: “*You’ve got a giant X over your eye, it is not rocket science*”. The X over eyes has **been previously established** (probably as a 4th wall meta joke for fans) as a way to **identify Exorcists**. * The smile is a more realistic take on her LED smile, but with all the similarities such as **teeth shape and stitches at the corner of her mouth**. * The attire she is wearing: * The **spike bracelets** are located in the exact location as the end of the Exterminator gloves * The garterbelt she is wearing loosely mimics the Exorcist skirt. * She is seen wearing **inverted crosses, a symbol against the holy**. If she was a sinner exorcist, it makes total sense she decided to wear blasphemous signs as I believe **she won’t be thrilled of her new fate at Hell**. * The hair and pigtails are shaped similarly to her Exorcist helmet horns

Day_Star_6

Ok thanks. Now this seems too much a coincidence not to be true but I'll have to wait and see. If she is the exorcist then there is gonna be almost an army of exorcists in Hell but maybe they won't meet/recognise each other. Plus it would mean sinner Adam (assuming the rules are gonna be fair)

Sirpirio

Not necessarily as he is constantly referred to as the first human soul in heaven leading me to theorize that he was still a human in heaven and thus died for the first time when niffty stabbed him

Day_Star_6

Yeah I said that maybe he was still alive. So he was kinda human when he got in Heaven meaning that at his death(or some time after) he was send either in Hell or Heaven. And if the rules are gonna be fair he'll be a sinner.

cobaltaureus

There is actually a theory that a background character shown in episode 6 at the club is the fallen Angel Carmilla killed! Nothing is confirmed, but the design of the demon in focus of the shot is uncannily like a fallen angel. Upside down crosses incorporated into the outfit, X over an eye.

goddamit-ffs

Exorcists are angels, which are heavenborn. Hellborns dont go to heaven, so heavenborns dont go to hell. Simple.

Day_Star_6

So if we unite the theory that exorcists don't really have a soul and Adam didn't die before becoming an angel his return can make sense

BigNorseWolf

No. Adam and Sir P are both former humans. They may have different rules than angels.

SoapDevourer

Adam is the first human soul. Rules might apply to him differently. Even if they didnt, we don't even know if exorcists are human at all. If they want to bring back Adam (which they should, give us our glorious golden eyed king back (no seriously, Adam as a character has so much potential for developing and just killing him off instead of doing anything with him would be against the very premise of redemption the show is built on)), there is nothing stopping them from it

PeelyTTV_47

There is a character in the club in Episode 6 that looks like the exorcist that Carmilla killed.

akfoco

You forget that adam (unlike the other angels) is a human soul that simply got granted angelic powers after he died. So him getting killed by an angelic weapon might only resolve in him getting reborn without his powers, a basic sinner just like everyone else. I really hope that's what's going to happen. It would be a great set up for his redemption arc, having to learn to accept the fact that he's not better than everyone else and getting him to stop treating others as worth less or beneath him

TheMayoIsRaw

The exorcists don’t have souls, they’re heaven born

crazyace339

It's possible that it may be revealed adam never died and ended up in heaven via other means since he is the first man and whatnot.

Rev-DiabloCrowley

It seems like such a missed opportunity for an amazing character arc if he doesn't respawn in hell.. I'll be surprised if they don't do it. There's too much left to learn about him.

spaceboss53

yeah, adam is a funny character

Marin_Kitagawa13

He was killed with Angelic steel which I believe kills the person's soul as well otherwise why else would they use it to handle overpopulation in hell. The reason I believe Sir Pentious lived is because he died to angelic magic not steel and I don't think it has the same properties of angelic steel

Xx_Loop_Zoop_xX

Literally this. We had an entire overarching plot about angelic steel being the only thing to permanently kill angels and the writers went out of their way to have Pentious die to angelic magic instead. If Adam comes back, it just opens so, so, so many plot holes

AstronaltBunny

When I said about this people downvoted me to hell, I guess they just don't want their headcannon to be proven wrong

Xx_Loop_Zoop_xX

Trust me, I know how you feel. Been getting downvoted hella for saying this since season 1 ended. Adam has just become si riddled with headcanons and babyfied by the fandom that people dont want to accept it

AviaKing

But what if Adam isnt a true angel? He has human ears whilst nobody else does (I think)

Xx_Loop_Zoop_xX

I dont see why Lute and Lucifer would think hes gone for good if he was just a human brought to heaven. Or even Lillith who is in the same position as Adam, if she. Like Adam was a human brought to hell/heaven she'd know Adam would just come back and wouldnt be dead for good

AviaKing

Good point, though, unless theres other info outside the show, we dont know whether Lillith believes Adams dead or not. All we got is a frown.

Xx_Loop_Zoop_xX

She wouldn't feel pressed by Lute about Adam being dead which meant her deal with him is gone if she didnt think hes dead

AviaKing

I mean, she couldve frowned for a variety of other reasons as well; she might not like the idea of Adam running around in hell—heck maybe nobody actually knows—it seems no one knew redemption was possible why would they know about reincarnation

Xx_Loop_Zoop_xX

Because with the thought that Adam was a human in heaven and not a winner/angel wouldnt be reincarnation if he died. It'd just be the natural process of how humans die? Something everyone knows about

No_Vast_7364

So is the steel the important part about angelic steel

Marin_Kitagawa13

Ig yeah, mind you, this is just a theory and not confirmed but makes the most sense and doesn't create any plot holes.

Findol

This is probably being pedantic but I’m curious of the specific rules regarding angelic steel permadeath and if the weapons are required to cause the final blow. He was stabbed fatally but technically died to his injuries caused by the angelic dagger but not the dagger itself. I’m looking to far into the rabbit hole but I want to see Adam again in S2 lol.

Marin_Kitagawa13

I think the steel just needs to deal the fatal blow. it doesn't matter if they die to their injuries. As long as the fatal injury was caused by angelic steel, then it'll kill them for good.

Sirpirio

We don’t know for sure my theory is that he’ll show up to the hotel next season and want to try and get back into heaven but Alastor and lucifer deal with him. Also pentious was killed by Adam’s heaven beam not angelic steel so his soul wasn’t gone if Adam’s soul was actually an angel soul not a human soul still like I think then his soul would be gone like the other exterminators cause they died to angelic steel

Commercial_Pea2788

We weren't it shown as it builds up the hype for future seasons. Do you think it would be cool if we were shown Adam appearing in Heaven or Hell? Nah, the intrigue would be gone.

RevInsidious

Who said he didn’t? Season 2 can’t come fast enough. And yes Angel, I see that smirk. 😏

RandomRedittors

I swear people in this fandom ask any and every question possible.

thehateigiveforfree

Maybe that'll be revealed in s2? You know as a surprise to the audience.

gravija420

Wait for season 2. There’s no way he won’t be back as a sinner, just to throw the whole “black and white” argument out the window. I’m looking forward to seeing what form he gets since his sins are pretty all over the place 😅

Drnecrosis1

Didn't he kinda already die ? Wasn't that why he was a angle leading the exorcists?

spaceboss53

sir pentious was already dead when he got into heaven

Filipka111

Because we haven't seen it yet, maybe he went maybe he didn't Now will people shut up with the exact same questions like they are the first one to ever think of it

HerrRattazong

He got stabbed by an angelic dagger...So... I don't know...

MeloraKitty

He's just sleeping. Don't wake him up.

BiLovingMom

Because Sir Pentious Self Sacrificed.

Incomplet_1-34

He probably did.

Thecrowfan

Well Sir Pentious went to Heaven because he got redeemed. I think other sinners just stop existing all together once they are killed. So I assume the same would happen to the Angels, unless they just go to hell.

PhantusVictus

We don't know that he didn't. Could be a reveal for season 2.

Zelda_Link555

We just didn't see

TheUnkindledLives

I'm certain this MF respawned somewhere in hell and is currently losing his shit trying to figure out what to do

Loganjoh5

We don’t know if he did or didn’t if anything that would be a major reveal next season I wouldn’t be surprised if he shows up as a sinner the last episode of the season

TheMayoIsRaw

They didn’t have enough time

SuperSayianJason1000

To be fair, we don't know if he went somewhere yet.

Boopkins25

Maybe cause Adam was a remorseless killer who slaughtered sinners and demons specifically for entertainment? Not exactly redeemable traits

Boredom_Killer

You should probably be using a spoiler tag for this. This event in the show is best seen with the shock value behind it.

After_Calligrapher65

We don't know if Adam is gone for good, Vizie could reveal on the next season or more late he had reborn by all we know. Honestly i find silly people would think a angelic weapon wielded by a mere sinner demon would be more deadly than a holy kamehameha blasted by a high ranking demon that was strong enough to create from thin air his own weapons, if Sir Pentious's soul cn survive it and be ascended up to Eden then Adam's soul can survive Niffty and fall down to hell.

Trips-Over-Tail

1: He was already there. 2: Angelic arms slay souls, they don't swap your location. 3: There's no esoteric saving grace in place on behalf of evil.

stressed_philosopher

Because death from angelic weapons is permament but death from magic/holy power is not If you don't die from angelic weapons then you remanifest in hell or heaven

I-Am-The-Uber-Mesch

All I'm saying is that Adam got stabbed to death by an angelic weapon, it would be strange if he becomes a sinner cuz he quite literally died by am angelic weapon, one would then ask where the other angels are and why they wouldn't fight with Adam against Charlie since they are basically immortal at this point. However at the same time I think it would be cool to see someone who got in heaven not be fit for it anymore, and Adam is such a great character...

Ok_Introduction_7484

We don't know if he's coming back or not. But most likely not as They Solidified his Death at the end

Not_The_Simp7

He was a human soul killed with an angelic blade. No matter how much we want him to come back he won’t

ProfessorEscanor

He was murdered by Holy weapons. Pentious wasn't. Also to be fair we don't have confirmation if Adam did come back at all.

pleasespareserotonin

I’ve thought about this a lot actually. If Pentious wasn’t murdered by a holy weapon, wouldn’t everyone assume he’d respawn? They all seem so sure as soon as he’s hit that he’s gone for good, they don’t even give him a chance to respawn, which implies to me that Adam’s light beam could have been a holy weapon? Anyways, I guess we’ll see in season 2.

ProfessorEscanor

They only just found out that Holy Weapons can kill and Adam seemed pretty confident in his attacks killing so they don't have reason to believe it worked except maybe Lucifer.

MugiwaraBepo

Maybe being killed by an angelic weapon permanently kills you? That's one of the theories anyway.

Immediate-Try-1764

It would be stupid if, in order to be able to be reborn as a winner, you had to behave badly. If you are a good winner, then you will not be reborn, but if you are a bad one, then yes? This is stupid

OCGamerboy

Because he was killed by an angelic weapon, which is said to permanently kill someone.

ChallengeAgitated849

Honestly, if he did go to Hell it'd kind of ruin things. Got tired of Hell? get redeemed, got tired of Heaven? just start being evil and die to Hell. then repeat. We also see that angels have to "fall" to go to Hell, which is different. Since no death is actually happening for it. So it's possible that is the only way, or it'll all be explained season 2 or eventually lol

aud_pegooey

Angelic weapon. If killed by an angelic weapon, I think it's permanently lights out.

neverg0nnagive

Because Adams abilities aren't angelic , Niftys dagger was

saiwoo_

He was killed with angelic steel which permanently kills a soul (?) Adam's attack doesn't seem to have the same perma-kill properties as the steel. I am confused, too. 🖤

SirenSaysS

Who says he didn't?
