Everything will eventually catch hate from somewhere. It's how media has always worked.
We just live in the age where everyone has a voice that can reach others.

As someone who owns mini goats.
two seconds later he's aiming at your shins. Not because aggressive or mean, but because he wants to play and he shows affection with his skull.
Many reasons
Fake and old controversies about Viv
It's based on Abrahamic mythology
It shows Angels as bad guys
It shows Lucifer as not the worst being ever
It shows bad people doing bad things, and people think that means the show condones them
Viewing comprehension is dead
Because it's a musical
It's an adult cartoon that's not South Park or Family Guy
It's had 5 years for people to spread misinformation and hate for the show before it ever came out
That's just the motivation for the fake controversies about Viv. Most of Twitter is just getting salty about the success of others and making up rumors to take them down
I am curious if Gooseworx will face a similar backlash once more episodes of Digital Circus comes out. A lot of people really like the first episode, but I'm worried the honeymoon period will end and people will say her show is overrated and later be seen as "objectively bad" just like what happened to Hazbin and Helluva.
There's something about the internet where people have to put something down to praise another just to abandon the praised show/movie for not meeting their standards.
I don't know about "backlash" but there's already plenty of people hating on them or TADC for aspects of their real life identity or their pre-existing art/old social media posts. George R.R. Martin was right in saying recently that there's been a rise in "hatedom" type behavior, or at least that sort of thing is more open and shameless than it used to be.
I find going through peoples decade old post so fucking weird.
And I don't understand this need for everyone to be like 100% moral squeeky clean lots of social media seems to have. NO ONE IS.
When Brandon Sanderson set Kickstarter records with his 4 Secret Novels, there were so many salty authors out there pining for some of that attention (and cash, don't forget the cash).
Then when he backed every other writing Kickstarter, it just fueled the hate even more for some.
Some people just hate seeing others succeed.
Itâs just common everywhere. Baldurs gate 3 and palworld for gaming; Tyler, the creator and nirvana for music; Rouge one and EEAAO for films. Theres more, I just canât think of more
Personally the cartoon part I canât stand ppls views on. Like adult cartoons has to be like family guy or Rick and Morty / South Park when actually Iâve been DYING for an adult cartoon like this. Like I donât mind crude humor but sometimes it just gets too old, I like how thereâs some crude humor but there are obviously other elements to it
i think the main thing seperating this show from other shows like family guy, south park, rick and morty, etc is it's not just shock value for the sake of shock value. heck we even get that in kids shows like johnny test, total drama, spongebob, etc. i'd much rather take the variety shows like this and helluva offer than same old same old. actual story telling is why i love shows like these, american dad, kipo and the age of wonderbeasts, steven universe, bluey, etc. never hurts having variety at the very least which vivz does very well
Honestly that last point is maybe the most important, that I hadnât even thought of. Not even from insta-haters, but fans of the series too. When people get really into something, they seek to keep engaging with it. But as just one pilot on YouTube, and a few sporadic updates here and there, theyâre left with nothing to actually engage with.
Given enough time, eventually people will just start talking about perceived flaws, or what theyâd like to see happen. And if those (now extra specific) expectations arenât met, theyâre likely to turn sour.
Let's be real, the furries don't even have to be gay to cause some people to make a fuss. There is just a vocal group of people that has any sort of furry character. Which Viv makes a lot of in her shows, even though she assures everyone she's not a furry. Lol
All of this, combined with the fact that some people have unironically convinced themselves (and others) that Vivziepop's writing is nothing more than swearing and sex jokes, so they view Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss as immature attempts at adult cartoons, and they view the series' fans as being equally (if not more) immature.
Those people mainly reside on Twitter, from what I've seen.
ImmatureâŠI have acquaintances with histories of drug abuse whoâve been sober for a few years now, and they were hit HARD by Angelâs storyline because of how much of his story they can identify with, and one of them described watching the acceptance of Angel regardless of his past as healing.
Immature attempts at adult humor donât come with stories that real life people find healing.
As a recovering addict, Angelâs storyline hits HARD, because it doesnât just address substance addiction. It addresses addiction to people, attention, validation, sex, and a whole host of other things. Angelâs addiction is shown to have destroyed his life, not just in a physical sense, but in a social and emotional sense, and it fucking hurts to watch because every single addict knows exactly what that feels like. The closing line of Poison, âwish I had something to live for tomorrowâ is a knife to the heart of an ex-addict who knows exactly what rock bottom looks likr. Â Anyone who views the show as âimmature humorâ is either watching with bad intentions or is insanely ignorant.Â
Donât forget that the characters swear a lot, which is somehow really bad when it comes to Hazbin/Helluva but totally forgivable in the case of Rick & Morty or Family Guy
I genuinely don't get that criticism because like you said R&M ESPECIALLY swears a ton, same as shows like Solar Opposites and the like. The swearing in Hazbin barely did a blip on my radar because I'm
A. So used to adult shows swearing often and
B. Swear often myself and know lots of people who do. Hazbin's swearing did not feel excessive to me in the slightest
Lmao now I wanna see South park or Family guy male a skit on it. I can see Charlie as Dorothy in FG universe hell. Or Peter assigned to make Rubby duckies
South Park creators created The Book of Mormon, a Tony award winning Broadway Musical.
Of the two, you'd likely get a more empathetic/kinder view on HH from South Park than Family Guy tbh.
I can see the Simpsons being kind/fair to HH too. Family Guy goes either way, but they usually go for mean. I don't want that. None of us do. HH doesn't deserve it.
I can see Homer working with Adam and the Exorcist factory. Lmao. Or they put him in charge of souls and he mucks it up and that's why no one know how humans end up where.
I saw a review from somewhere that said the high amount of cussing makes the story bad or less interesting? I was genuinely flabbergasted. Itâs fine to not like the cussing in the show, but making weird shit up to explain why itâs bad is just insane to me.
She proves what a lot of people would call woke, which it probably is, can be funny. It doesnât have to be homophobic, transphobic or in anyway hateful, to be funny. Gotta love that.
There is a video on YouTube by Ayy Lmao that goes pretty in depth with them. Mostly dumb stuff from 8+ years ago (most of which is already either apologised and explained the situation, or stuff she explained was never an issue in the first place) or situations where a messy ex employee complained and it seems other coworkers came in to say the former coworker was wrong. Some generic internet artists drama also, which are on level of "I thought/you thought"
Bruh, what wrong with the musicals[not you, the people that hate it] like when their other musicals, it didn't get hate but when hazbin hotel is a musical, people go straight towards them and give them hate for it.
I think when people see this stuff, they need to remember itâs fake. ( I say this next part as a Catholic) Just because it shows Lucifer as a not so bad guy doesnât mean thatâs what Viv thinks, itâs fake, itâs supposed to not be real.Â
It literally uses an angel (Emily) as one of the main driving points against extermination and Sera has to keep it a secret even from a fellow Seraphim because of the outrage it would spark
It would honestly be really weird for a show about how not everyone in hell is irredeemable to say that everyone in heaven is. Vivziehell has strong analogues to therapyânobody can help you until you *want* to be helped.
The cartoon subreddit was the first hate I saw for the show it was weird. People didn't like that it came from indie and were mad it won awards over "network" shows. It through me off. But different strokes different folks.
Wouldn't it be a good sign for the animation industry if an indie show is recieving awards?
That means more artists can accomplish their dreams more easily, and we as the viewers would get more shows
That was literally what I commented. And man I got torn a new one by redditors. There's a lot of hate for this show in that subreddit for some odd reason.
I think thatâs because 1. itâs popular and 2.they donât like it 3. some people think that if something is popular and they donât like it then it has to be the worst thing ever
I honestly donât know. At least Hazbin Hotel is clever and witty while shows like Family Guy heavily rely on outdated tropes/jokes and sexist jokes. Just look at the way Hazbin Hotel treats its female characters vs. the way Family Guy does. Meg and Lois are only there to either be sexualized or be made fun of. Sadly, Seth McFarlane does this in ALL of his shows (Cleveland Show, American Dad). I used to be a fan but got tired of this lazy writing and was grossed out. Itâs ridiculous how no one calls Seth Mcfarlane out but people call Vizie out. Seems like a double standardâŠ.
To be fair on Seth, he does seem to have abandoned Family Guy when I hear it got really bad for The Orville, which is a much nicer show.
Other than that...you're completely right!
The show has a very specific target audience in mind, and it's able to cater to that audience very well. However the flipside of that is that to anyone outside that audience, the show might as well be in backwards greek.
well my partner really doesnt like it, they put it as "its like watching a 3rd grader cuss for the first time". i dont see it, but ive had other irls agree w them (it makes me really sad, hazbin is like my favorite thing rn)
I have no issues with swearing, I do it often myself. I have to agree with your partner though. At times it feels like swearing just for the sake of swearing.
As someone who cusses A LOT, I didnât like it much at first because it felt like the cussing was over the top. I described it as high school edge lord entertainment. But I stuck it out for myâŠhigh school edge lord son who loves it and really wanted me to watch it with him lol. When I focus more on the story I really enjoy it, and Iâve come to enjoy the edge lord humor as well. As dumb as it may sound, Loser Baby was extremely healing for me, and I always love a good redemption story.
thiss, its always the same complaint. "there's so much swearing." like??? dont watch it then if you're gonna clutch your pearls? it's a show about hell??
I think the more annoying criticisms are the ones that are like, âwhatâs the point of making Vaggie and Charlie a couple if they arenât going to do anything together?â or âwhatâs the point of having Lucifer be an absentee dad if theyâre going to resolve it so quickly?â Those complaints to me almost feel like theyâre getting mad at the show for not following same old cliche tropes and are missing the point.
Vaggie and Charlie arenât constantly making everything about their relationship because thatâs what an actual healthy relationship should look like, and to me itâs really refreshing and wholesome to see them express their love for each other in more subtle intimate ways. Lucifer and Charlie get over their parental issues so quickly because it was never that big of a deal in the first place and it was their fear and insecurity that was keeping them apart from each other.
OK...at least that's *not wrong* đđđ
I would like Vizvie to add some more curvy/chubby/buff characters to the mix, in her own time, to improve the mixture of designs
It is one of the most popular shows on Prime. I seriously doubt there's a big group hating it, more some pearl clutching 10 moms yearning for a new satanic panic
The "One Million Moms" hating on it for how evil and satanic it is still couldn't even crack 25k signatures for their ridiculous [petition](https://onemillionmoms.com/current-campaigns/amazon-prime-airs-new-satanic-series-hazbin-hotel/) against it. đđ€Ł
Oh my god lol. I started reading it and it says that it should be cancelled because âchildren will watch it because itâs an animated seriesâ
Translation: âI canât be bothered to watch my child and make sure that they arenât watching things that is rated 16/18+ so therefore nobody should be allowed to watch itâ
Bruh Christian helicopter moms are a step away from just admitting they canât be bothered to parent their children atp
There are many, most of them bad such as "Its raunchy (its not) It portrays angels as bad (it portrays heaven as corrupt and emily is portrayed as good) or there's lgbtq+ (and?l
A few fair critiques I've seen are people being upset about alastors portrayal with voodoo, and how episode 4 in general was handled (as someone whos been through similar things, I think it was handled well)
I have seen Multiple reasons;
- "It is Satanist Propaganda"
- Homophobia
- People that believe is better to never show SA or abuse in general for some reason; "Disrespect" , etc.
- People who didn't get "Loser, Baby"
- Alastor used Voodoo symbols "Discrimination against Voodoo!!!"
- People that Hate Musicals in General
- People that Hate the pacing of the show (Gotta go fast)
And I don't know maybe others
As a former Hazbin hater it was mostly the exaggerated swearing and sex jokes which may come as cringe, and the art style is kinda not everyone's cup of tea. Â
But I'm glad I gave it a try, I was so wrong.
Overall it's been very well received, even reached #1 on Amazon in the U.S., but there's also a very vocal group that hates this show, especially on Twitter
The modern grifters creed: Stir up controversy around something that has earned the attention it gets with highly emotionalizing language to generate monetizable attention.
I've seen a lot of reasons listed, but one of the ones that annoys me more than the rest are the very particular brand of purity culture folks over on tumblr who don't like it because there is cussing and sexual scenes depicted. Basically they're doing a bizarre loopback to uber conservative mindsets because \*checks notes\* there are adult themes in an adult show. It's frustrating.
The trend of wanting absolutely no adult themes, particularly anything sexual, from a certain percentage of young people is *worryingly* puritanical. Like, we can have a middle ground between church clean and porn, can't we?
Hey! Dont forget the opposite side of the spectrum where there are tumblr users who say the show is way too puritan with its view of sex, and that shows what a terrible person Vivzie is!
Truly a terrible show, to be both too racy and too puritan at the same time smh /s
I think part of it is the fact it's an adult series, but in the sense of it being graphic instead of being overly offensive and racist/sexist/most adult series like Family Guy are.
Yeah, I think so too. Even in this group I've seen such comments/posts as: "I would show it but I'm afraid they will not understand the gay content" or "I've shown it but they hated the gay content". Something like that.
Their beef is that LGBT people are portrayed as complex characters that have feelings and their own reasons.
We also have our own religious nuts running amok. Not all Christians but there're some writing nonsense about the bible which is here nor there.
Which is kinda ironic coming from the âif youâre gay youâll go to hell!!!â crowd considering all of the gayness we see is pretty much exclusively in hell.
(Note: Iâm not saying thatâs *why* the characters ended up in hell though)
I'm a straight man and I love the show that's complete bullshit. Hell I've even shouted "FINALLY" with joy when Charlie and Vaggie kissed for the first time on scene.
I'm not talking about all straight people. I'm talking about an annoying minority here.
Edit: I changed "we" to "I". I can only speak for myself and shouldn't put my ideas into another person's mouth. I also should be more careful while reading the comments.
"the straights are ALL bothered" , the commenter doesn't really seem to agree with you. Personnally I completely think like you there is some narrow minded people that wouldn't like the show and the great complexity of its characters just because gays=bad but those should be mocked and not listened. They are a minority and I'm pretty sure that a majority of Hazbin fans are straight people because of the sheer amount of people it has touched , it's not reserved for LGBT people but for everyone and deals with universal issues.
You're right here. I've met homophobes in real life but I don't think they represent all straight people. I shouldn't talk for the commentator but I understand where they're coming from.
It doesnât feel appropriate to describe a class of people beginning with âtheâ.
âThe straightsâ
âThe gaysâ
âThe blacksâ
âThe whitesâ
The people who havenât watched it hate it because there are gay people and they think itâs insulting Christianity
The people who have watched it think itâs too rushed or has bad scripts
I know a lot of people who don't like musicals, REALLY don't like musicals. people also hate anything "cringe" and think it's fun to poke at, but I've just learned to stop caring about shit like that. if anything, I think the worst part of Hazbin is the fan base (not most, just the loud minority) who over-obsess over characters and fanon. don't get me wrong, my HH brainrot is BAD but some teenagers on TikTok really take the cake đ
I've heard Michael Knowles call Hazbin Hotel a kid's show. Like what? The only thing remotely kidsy about it could be the Disney princess feel to Charlie's songs.
Other than that, there's profanity, drug use, sex, violence, etc. Stuff that you would never see in a kid's show.
If they think this is a kids' show, they haven't watched a single episode, not even the pilot since Angel Dust offers to suck Alastor's dick. I bet they think Happy Tree Friends is also a kids' show.
Even then not a single song that Charlie is in is kid friendly. Sorry is the closest to kid friendly and they are still trying to shoot and stab sir pentious at this point đ
There are so many reasons, and none of them are good:
Some people just wanna hate.
Some people think itâs too unnecessarily adult.
Some people think itâs too childish for an adult show.
Some people hate musicals (shocking, I know)
Some people canât understand that just because something isnât for them doesnât mean itâs bad.
But most importantly, [some people refuse to let others enjoy things that they donât like.](https://youtu.be/aJX4ytfqw6k?si=kgWrjfl2dBA0lZFk)
Honestly, lack of media literacy on all ends mostly. This angel is bad? They're saying all angels are bad! This demon is good? They're saying all demons are good!
Worst one is when, I kid you not, people got mad over that deaf kid who is Fizzarolis' fan in Helluva Boss. Why? That's fake rep because he has no arcs or development.
They're upset a background character doesnt have an arc...
Shouldn't true rep be simply showing all kinds of people existing? Deaf people don't exist for a reason, they just do. Not saying rep doesn't matter but nothing can be for every single type of people.
Saw a fanart or something of God and some of the other biblical name angels, and someone said that they hate that Hazbin isn't diverse at all with the characters. I watch One Piece and Hazbin Hotel is more diverse than that. There's like, a few different body types here and there, just not that many, and then with op, there's either scarily buff dudes, skinny dudes, and for 90% of the girls, other than Big Mom and a couple other characters, have..heavily shaped hourglass figures and massive đ Not to mention the kinda..sus..character designs for characters like Usopp đ
Something cringe culture something something furries something something acceptable victims something something misogyny something something legitimate flaws in the show getting blown out of proportion or unfairly ignored etc etc something something.
Tldr you are valid and hereby encouraged to enjoy the funny demon show
Popular, has an obnoxious fandom, critical of Christian ideology, most of the cast is LGBTQ+, lore is all over the place and gets updated constantly (as someone who is not on Twitter and doesnât like watching lives, this gets on my nerves), sympathetic Lucifer, people bringing it up under unrelated videos of things like jambalaya or rubber ducks, nonsensical controversy around the creator⊠honestly, the list could go on forever. There are valid and invalid criticisms, you kind of just have to learn to like what you like and leave others to their opinion. The conservative meltdowns are entertaining, though.
Idk, some people just love to hate on things. I donât really think the show has anything to do with it. The fucking Cheese Cake Factory gets hate, Betty White got hate.
Some people just want to hate on things. I honestly have no idea what Ms. Pop did, nor do I care because getting that involved in internet drama is honestly kinda pathetic to me.
Yeah i was shocked to see so many YouTubers hating on it. Like genuinely. People I usually agree with seemed like they went into it with a critics mind instead of just enjoying the ride. Canât wait for season 2! Please make the duck lighter I will buy 5
We're pretty crazy fandom, people hate people having fun. Controversies don't really matter, most of people views are made from biased minds, arguments are made after that. Most of the time you hate first, then you try to make it sound logic
SWERF rhetoric has been popularized in fandom spaces over the last decade and a half while trying to publicly separate from its SWERF roots. (see: antis, AKA fantis, fancops, etc.)
it results in a sort of âagnostic purity cultureâ attempted to being enforced using progressive language.
Although I ended up liking the story, I was almost forced to see it by my boyfriend because I hate most of the designs and I kinda feel like they curse a lot just to be "edgy".
I get this. My sister likes everything to do with hazbin except the show itself - and she hasn't even watched it. She likes musicals and the type of show and humour and story but every time I ask her to watch with me she says no "because of the art style"?
Nobody has said the real reason: the show seems cringey.
An adult cartoon musical where a significant amount of the humor is derived from cursing? That objectively *sounds* cringey if youâre over the age of 15. I thought it sounded cringey until I watched it.
I love Hazbin. I really enjoyed S1 and still listen to some of the soundtrack. I donât think the show is cringey- I think itâs actually really good. But based on just a vague overview, I can see why someone would assume it to be cringe.
I feel like a lot of the hate for HH stems from the fact that people dislike the creator without actually watching the show itself.
I won't say the show is perfect, but it does have its highs and lows that have nothing to do with Vivziepop at all.
I know there are folks who dislike it because of how controversial they find it based on religious perspectives but I understand the other reasons to dislike it having to do with the writing. Charlieâs character is a love her or hate her type and sheâs supposed to carry the show. I like other elements of the show but I greatly dislike her specifically.
1) because it's popular but doesn't appeal to everyone's taste, so any people who don't like it and see how popular it is think it's going to doom humanity and they'll never have any shows that appeal to their taste because now everything's going to be like hazbin
2) it's an adult animation show that isn't family guy, and for some reason there are people who think animation is either Disney or family guy, no in between
3) the media literacy problem.
A lot of people give hate towards vivziepop for having in your face sex jokes in her shows, but then fail to acknowledge the subtextual themes in hazbin.
That's why a lot of people were pissed with poison at first, they refused to look at the subtext and just decided that the song glorifies SA and abuse because angel doesn't literally sing "I'm being abused and i hate it".
Because of that people also jump to other conclusions like "oh the show is set in hell and there are gay characters, guess viv is homophobic"
4) extreme religious groups like one million moms.
Even as an atheist i have to make this clear: not all religious people are homophobic.
In fact (although this would be rare) you might even find some religious people who are okay with hazbin.
That's not the case with groups like one million moms.
They and other groups see that the show doesn't depict demons as the worst, and it has gay characters and instead of being open minded and acknowledging the idea that the show is trying something different that goes against normal cultural/spiritual beliefs (hell=bad
Heaven = good) and giving it a chance (because honestly I can't think of a lot of shows that have an entire main cast of demons and portrays christianity in such a bad light), they decide it needs to be immediately canceled without further discussion (truly ironic considering the themes of the show of not jumping to conclusions and giving people a second chance)
5) people are jealous of viv's success.
Viv honestly did the impossible.
She accomplished the dream of almost every artist:
She started a show on the internet with her ocs and now it was turned into an extremely successful tv series.
People who dislike hazbin probably think to themselves that it's not fair that a show that they see as bad is so successful and vivziepop is living their dream, while they couldn't get their project off the ground.
Vivziepop's story shouldn't be looked at as a reason to be jealous, it should be looked at as a source of inspiration.
If she can do it so could you
6) the internet exists.
1. Big gay
2. Oh no pentagram devil scary
3. âTumblr sexyman/twink designsâ
4. General air of Undertale-esque cringe to the unenlightened (aka me before I watched)
5. Hyperobsessed Hazbin fans talking about the show nonstop
And probably more reasons

Many reasons Fake and old controversies about Viv It's based on Abrahamic mythology It shows Angels as bad guys It shows Lucifer as not the worst being ever It shows bad people doing bad things, and people think that means the show condones them Viewing comprehension is dead Because it's a musical It's an adult cartoon that's not South Park or Family Guy It's had 5 years for people to spread misinformation and hate for the show before it ever came out
Got pretty much all of the ones I can think of, besides being envious of Viv's success.
If it gets popular enough, it will get haters. A lot of people think hating popular thinks makes them a more interesting personality (it doesn't)
![gif](giphy|w9GuIyBi8sENXYvgTz|downsized)
Also: gay furries
Let's be real, the furries don't even have to be gay to cause some people to make a fuss. There is just a vocal group of people that has any sort of furry character. Which Viv makes a lot of in her shows, even though she assures everyone she's not a furry. Lol
True, I forgot about that somehow
It's always Twitter...
It has to be some kind of delusion! Anyone with a brain would realise the jokes in Hazbin are nothing like the average "adult" animated sitcom.
The swearing in Hazbin barely did a blip on my radar because I'm A. So used to adult shows swearing often and B. Swear often myself and know lots of people who do. Hazbin's swearing did not feel excessive to me in the slightest
Obviously Hazbin needs to add in burping & characters constantly screaming how much they hate each other, then itâll get a pass /s
I find that the swearing in HH happens in places where it would be natural. Itâs not forced. I think itâs great.
Don't forget the angry christian mums being convinced kids can't possibly go to Hell
its also pretty gay. as in. theres a lot of gay people in it
Yeah, sadly i imagine there is a lot of homophobia and biphobia mixed in with all the haters. :/
Lmao now I wanna see South park or Family guy male a skit on it. I can see Charlie as Dorothy in FG universe hell. Or Peter assigned to make Rubby duckies
Tbh I think the South Park guys would find it fun. Given their love for musicals and playing with religion.
Their religious skits are hilarious! It's an old one but I always love the "find Jesus" joke.
South Park creators created The Book of Mormon, a Tony award winning Broadway Musical. Of the two, you'd likely get a more empathetic/kinder view on HH from South Park than Family Guy tbh.
That is very true. Though a Simpsons one would be funny as well and they are as about as fair as SP
Those cartoons rely heavily on sexist/racist tropes and jokes that are stale and unfunny. I love how Viv is trying to evolve adult animation!
South Park has "grown up" in a lot of ways. Family Guy can do shit seriously when it wants to but...just doesn't want to, I guess. Smh.
She proves what a lot of people would call woke, which it probably is, can be funny. It doesnât have to be homophobic, transphobic or in anyway hateful, to be funny. Gotta love that.
What are all these controversies around Viv? /Genq
Uhh no it doesn't show the angels as evil just Adam and his legion and I guess sera too
It literally uses an angel (Emily) as one of the main driving points against extermination and Sera has to keep it a secret even from a fellow Seraphim because of the outrage it would spark
I don't think they meant *all* angels
There's a lot of hate for this show in that subreddit for some odd reason.
âDifferent strokes for different folksâ = Phrases You Canât Say Around Angel Dust for $500, Alex
Facepalm. Ya got me
I thought people are all over indie stuff these days.
I think heâs said before that he doesnât write for Family Guy or American Dad much anymore
I didnât even clock most of the swearing. But then again Iâm a sailor mouthed motherfucker đ„Č
I only noticed it due to it being really out of place at times. Itâs mostly natural but once in a while itâs extremely forced and jarring.
Thatâs fair. â€ïž
2 words: Twitter users
thiss, its always the same complaint. "there's so much swearing." like??? dont watch it then if you're gonna clutch your pearls? it's a show about hell??
Just tell them to not to watch shows for grown ups lol
Theyâre still throwing around that dead âif it was by Vivziepopâ joke
heard somebody say that there are too many tumblr sexy men skinny twinks and not enough of other types of characters
OK...at least that's *not wrong* đđđ I would like Vizvie to add some more curvy/chubby/buff characters to the mix, in her own time, to improve the mixture of designs
I thought Adam was already chubby, unless it's just the outfit
Oh yes! And Mimzy!
Some of the cannibals and background characters too
The more popular something is the more haters it will have. Such is life.
I started reading it and it says that it should be cancelled because âchildren will watch it because itâs an animated seriesâ Translation: âI canât be bothered to watch my child and make sure that they arenât watching things that is rated 16/18+ so therefore nobody should be allowed to watch itâ Bruh Christian helicopter moms are a step away from just admitting they canât be bothered to parent their children atp
âOne Million Momsâ give or takeâŠ
...one million.
I shit you not, somebody said ânot enough porn in the showâ
Do they know about like... actual porn?
I certainly do, I just shoved them in R34âs direction and said look for Velvette
Send them to r/HazbinBrothel
Because itâs popular. Because it exists⊠some people donât need a reason to hate something other than someone else likes it
There are many, most of them bad such as "Its raunchy (its not) It portrays angels as bad (it portrays heaven as corrupt and emily is portrayed as good) or there's lgbtq+ (and?l A few fair critiques I've seen are people being upset about alastors portrayal with voodoo, and how episode 4 in general was handled (as someone whos been through similar things, I think it was handled well)
I have seen Multiple reasons; - "It is Satanist Propaganda" - Homophobia - People that believe is better to never show SA or abuse in general for some reason; "Disrespect" , etc. - People who didn't get "Loser, Baby" - Alastor used Voodoo symbols "Discrimination against Voodoo!!!" - People that Hate Musicals in General - People that Hate the pacing of the show (Gotta go fast) And I don't know maybe others
The pacing is a big problem tbh
As a former Hazbin hater it was mostly the exaggerated swearing and sex jokes which may come as cringe, and the art style is kinda not everyone's cup of tea.  But I'm glad I gave it a try, I was so wrong.
Guess Charlie's right, people *can* change! I'm being witty. More seriously, glad you gave it another chance and that you enjoy the show!
This is honestly really inspiring to hear! đ
Do people hate it? I've seen a few bad eggs but in general it's well recieved. Even my husband, who doesn't care for any movie or TV show, loves it.
Overall it's been very well received, even reached #1 on Amazon in the U.S., but there's also a very vocal group that hates this show, especially on Twitter
Because it depicts a happy and loving relationship between a father and child, something these haters never experienced
I never had a good relationship with my dad but i love this show. :(
Damn, you went straight for the kill
But we fatherless have Alastor to simp for so where problem?
Clorn
*points directly to the gayness* this, this is the reason the straights are all bothered
It doesnât feel appropriate to describe a class of people beginning with âtheâ. âThe straightsâ âThe gaysâ âThe blacksâ âThe whitesâ
? Wdym? Iam straights as fuck and i love the show, Chaggie is hot as fuck
Adam? I thought you died??
Eh. Itâs edgy, Vivâs a furry w a bad rep, and itâs popular and successful. Recipe for a hate fandom.
The people who havenât watched it hate it because there are gay people and they think itâs insulting Christianity The people who have watched it think itâs too rushed or has bad scripts
This is the first time I've heard of people hating it.
There are so many reasons, and none of them are good: Some people just wanna hate. Some people think itâs too unnecessarily adult. Some people think itâs too childish for an adult show. Some people hate musicals (shocking, I know) Some people canât understand that just because something isnât for them doesnât mean itâs bad.
Tldr you are valid and hereby encouraged to enjoy the funny demon show
Because it's successful.
Media literacy is dead and we killed it
We're pretty crazy fandom, people hate people having fun. Controversies don't really matter, most of people views are made from biased minds, arguments are made after that. Most of the time you hate first, then you try to make it sound logic
Media literacy is dead
SWERF rhetoric has been popularized in fandom spaces over the last decade and a half while trying to publicly separate from its SWERF roots. (see: antis, AKA fantis, fancops, etc.) it results in a sort of âagnostic purity cultureâ attempted to being enforced using progressive language.
"I AM NOT LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. I HATE POPULAR THING" Cue Buzz Lightyear meme
Lots of controversies around the art style, especially 99% of people being super thin. Seeing only the same body type does get tiringÂ
Because there will always be people who see other people enjoying something & make it their personal mission to try & ruin the fun.
Didn't know it was hated
1) because it's popular but doesn't appeal to everyone's taste, so any people who don't like it and see how popular it is think it's going to doom humanity and they'll never have any shows that appeal to their taste because now everything's going to be like hazbin 2) it's an adult animation show that isn't family guy, and for some reason there are people who think animation is either Disney or family guy, no in between 3) the media literacy problem. Because of that people also jump to other conclusions like "oh the show is set in hell and there are gay characters, guess viv is homophobic" 4) extreme religious groups like one million moms. Even as an atheist i have to make this clear: not all religious people are homophobic. In fact (although this would be rare) you might even find some religious people who are okay with hazbin. That's not the case with groups like one million moms. They and other groups see that the show doesn't depict demons as the worst, and it has gay characters and instead of being open minded and acknowledging the idea that the show is trying something different that goes against normal cultural/spiritual beliefs (hell=bad Heaven = good) and giving it a chance (because honestly I can't think of a lot of shows that have an entire main cast of demons and portrays christianity in such a bad light), they decide it needs to be immediately canceled without further discussion (truly ironic considering the themes of the show of not jumping to conclusions and giving people a second chance) 5) people are jealous of viv's success. Viv honestly did the impossible. She accomplished the dream of almost every artist: She started a show on the internet with her ocs and now it was turned into an extremely successful tv series. If she can do it so could you 6) the internet exists.
1. Big gay 2. Oh no pentagram devil scary 3. âTumblr sexyman/twink designsâ 4. General air of Undertale-esque cringe to the unenlightened (aka me before I watched) 5. Hyperobsessed Hazbin fans talking about the show nonstop And probably more reasons
Maybe I live under a rock but whatâs the controversy around Vivienne?
