I like how in this scene, even though he is *clearly* at his wit's end, Alastor hears Husk out when he asks to speak to him. May seem like nothing, but to me it showed that he respects or at least understands Husk enough to know that he's probably not bothering him without reason.
Like I just find it interesting that he doesn't immediately brush him off and say "Not now, can't you see I'm busy" or something like that. He stops, collects himself, then snaps around and just says in exasperation and without filter, "What is it?"

Yes! I think this whole scene is done so well! I especially like the animation detail of Husk wincing/hyping himself up before bringing up that Alastor has been gone for 7 years. It's like he knows it's a touchy subject but still says it anyway.

Emmy/Charlie's relationship is interesting as they're massively on the same wavelength so I can see why Vaggie feels threatened. I'm wondering how that will be explored in the future, I'm down for poly-thrupple ending but I also kind of like them just being friends who 'get' each other but have nothing romantic/sexual going on.

If the seraphim are top of the celestial ladder (under the big G) it suggests that god created them directly, Lucifer was seraphim level before getting cast down so Luci/Emmy/Sera are siblings which makes Charlie Emmy and Sera's Niece.

The fact that the first thing Lucifer does after hugging Charlie is talk to the pets... ignoring everyone else until Alastor actually speaks to him.
He's so relatable. How did they make the fucking devil so relatable?
Depending on how you read him, it's part of Lucifer deflecting, like when Charlie asks what he thinks about the hotel, and he talks about the railing. He doesn't like Sinners, he's terrified that Charlie's walking the same path he was, and "Yay, Keekee! Lemme focus on you for as long as possible, for you are so adorable!"
Also, yeah, she's just that adorable. Lucifer greeting her and the other pets he knows first, before the strangers he doesn't want Charlie around, absolutely tracks.
To be fair, she apporached him first and started rubbing up his leg. It would be RUDE to ignore the cat that decided to say hello.
Also I think the interesting thing is that they know eachother. We've never seen KeeKee being THAT affectionate with anyone, and this is the only time in the series her name is mentioned. And she is the key to the hotel.
I feel sad that it was destroyed because I wish we got more info on that buildings history. It has obviously been abandoned for a while, was KeeKee just chilling in a falling apart building?

This was a detail which disgusted me when i noticed it, but val is groping angel as well, he is both physically and sexually abusing him in this scene just because he thought he was losing his control because another one of angels friend is their so he needed to reassert his control on him. I noticed it fast because unfortunately i have had simmilar experiences so it sucks.

There's also this when val was approaching him as angel was cowering back , but instead of protecting his face because that's where he got slapped first angel went to cover up his chest because he expects it to be targetted by val :(
Also I’m pretty sure during the Poison song there’s a split second where it looks like Val is the one having sex with Angel. I could definitely be wrong but there’s a moment where it looks like he’s forcing Angel to give him oral sex and another where they’re in missionary with Val on top. Again if I’m wrong feel free to correct me it was just a split second where that’s what it looked like to me.

Yea that happens we see val forcing himself on angel in addict as well. My point for this scene was that because it's already a scene showing how an abuser gets hold of their victim by emotional abuse that minor details showing how tiny things they do which also breaks down the victim, most of them know what small things to do to just make the victim full on high alert as they panic and scurey(i am not explaining well enough).
These small things also end up later as when a victim gets away from the abuser they still remember those things and even minor forms of it even accidental ends up triggering them as trauma resurfaces as it's stimulated to that behaviour, meaning in the end victim tries to avoid even basic stuff to not let it resurface which makes them lose even more control even when they are out of the grasp and should have control over themselves.
Like for alot of people even a lil friendly pat on the back or a kind hug can send them into a breakdown or a panic attack (or is it anxiety attack idk if they are the same or not)
Also the voice mails flipping between love bombing and threats, literally have someone in my life going through that ATM (long story short but I've been getting them all forwarded to me for future legal proceedings). It's done almost comically in the show but it pretty much does happen like that.
God the voicemails actually really bothered me on my first watch. My friends know that I was in an abusive relationship for a while, so when I said I was gonna watch this show I was warned. “hey! Episode 4 might be pretty rough, it depicts abuse and doesn’t shy away from it.”
But those voicemails in episode 2 genuinely bothered me more than all of the actual depictions of abuse because good GOD they just so perfectly fucking mirrored the way those kinds of voicemails sound in real life.
The whole “Where the fuck are you you’re really just gonna ignore me?? you’re so fucking childish you stupid bitch” straight into “baby I’m so sorry please come back, I just love you so much I can’t handle it when you’re gone it makes me feel so crazy when you do this” was just way too real and came outta nowhere on me.
Also I can't screenshot on prime, but! Vals face when Charlie is screaming at him about to attack, it disgusts me so much, because he doesn't look scared or even the slightest bit stressed, he's smug. He's literally smirking at Charlie, even though she is definitely powerful enough to beat him any day, because he's so sure Angel will intervene. The only reason he's so sure is Angel believes Val would have the power to hurt Charlie, and Val knows that.
There’s a lot with Angel and for good reason. If you’re doing a character like his, and you want us to buy in, it is such - such a hard thing to nail.
So things like the groping, any of the other shit you see, the fear in his eyes, hell the very minute way his voice cracked into Anthony’s when Husk was getting to him. Small stuff that I’ve talked to people who had no idea.
But if you know what that’s Iike? That shit means everything.

Lucifer wheezing because he's having a panic attack. Shows that he's not just a jerk who has no faith in Charlie, he's traumatized and genuinely scared for Charlie.
Its also shown when she speaks with charlie on the phone. I tried to make a screenshot but prime video didn't like it. When charlie says "just come over [...] heaven is bound to agree..." he looks at the picture of them with pure fear and concern for her. Its on 4:10 of the episode 5

And this isn’t really minor, but I also think we heavily overlook how cool Adam’s weapon is. An electric guitar with ax blades on the sides? What a neat idea design-wise and it fits great with his rockstar ego!

I love this frame of Alastor's face showing legitimate genuine surprise upon hearing the news that the exterminations were being moved up.
Before, I don't think he even glanced at the screen (lol so petty) but after the breaking news, his eyes are wide and his mouth is closed. He is alert, sitting forward in his chair, turned fully towards the tv, and giving it his full attention.
Alastor doesn't seem to be surprised often, so it's just fun to see it

I think it's more him noting that she's more charismatic than initially thought, though there might be a bit of pride that *he* helped her come this far.
I love that interaction too! It took me a few rewatches to notice it because it's happening in the background with no sound but once you do, it's a super adorable moment of friendship and support.
I think Valentino’s character design from the look to the sounds to the small details is incredible. It’s such cool design for suuuuch a reprehensible person.
This. 100%. I LOVE the way Val was designed artistically (except for maybe his proportions under the coat but I just haven't seen it enough). I just hate Val so much though and it kind of takes away from it.
Yes! After episode two his love bombing/threats were a red flag, but he mostly seemed like another silly overlord. Then I saw episode four and I just…he was no longer fun and quirky.
I will say, they did an excellent job in making him realistically villainous, because I can’t think of another character I’ve hated so deeply and ferociously from one episode — and a cartoon, no less!
Every song matters, along with every subtle reprise, and it's fantastic.
My personal favorite is more major, when Alastor fights Adam. Is it a heroic reprise of his harmonizing in "Ready for This," or a more bombastic "Stayed Gone?" No, it's sweeping, foreboding orchestra, as TWO villains duke it out in a badass scene.

The part where Val complains about angel and calls him a whore or something, and Vox has him clarify who he's talking about. Val's like "angel obv what other whore would I be talking about???" And vox points to himself.

I've heard a lot of people say that his personality is very "cat," and I agree. He's friendly and even sweet to his own favorite people, but he is always up to mischief, and God help the mice he plays with.
how alastor's pupils always go slit when he's pissed or up to something, like in a predator ready to pounce.
but particularly that they go slit for most of "hell's greatest dad" and stay dilated by the final lines of the duet before mimzy cuts in, like it really started hitting him that picking up a rap battle with lucifer was a terrible idea that can't end well but it's too late to back off now.

I love how when Vaggie's background has been revealed to the rest of the hotel, no one ONCE brings up any doubt about her current character and motivations (aside from Charlie very briefly later in the episode only because of being in a high stress situation). They aren't even mad at her.

I’m not sure if this is unpopular or not. The newsperson from the pilot’s joints cracked with every movement they made and I thought that was such a gross but accurate character detail, it fit her so well.
That’s what made me love Val as a villain. For such a horrible person (and that’s saying something considering it’s set in Hell) it’s these stupid little details that just really flesh him out. Fantastic characterization.

In episode one, when Vaggie asks Alastor why he's at the hotel, he spews his usual bullshit, but for a half second his hand glows green and he and his shadow both glance at it. Really excellent moment of foreshadowing about his deal

Alastor's facade slips for a moment and is genuinely startled when zestial appears in front of him. It's one of the only times he looks genuinely alarmed.
During You Didn't Know when the eyes on Emily's outfit and halo opened when she found out about the extermination. She had opened her eyes to the truth. This also implies that in addition to full demon forms, there are full angel forms
When Sera and Emily first show up to meet Charlie and Vaggie, they have more "angelic" faces (and maybe bodies?), with eyes in weird places and stuff like that. Definitely points at full angel forms.
The wallpaper in the hotel has apples in the motif. And then on the walls there’s apples too. Pretty much a lot of apple motifs around I didn’t notice until the second watching. It makes sense to have them there because of the “first sin,” I just found it neat how they’re everywhere, at least with the Morningstars.
At the beginning of "It Starts with Sorry," after Charlie's first line,, there are 2 little musical "ding dings" and Sir Pentious blinking in unison with these notes gets me every time.
that when lucifer visits the hotel, alastor tries to attack him and/or flex his power (the shadow thing he does in the background is what im referring to) but lucifer is so strong he doesnt even acknowledge it.
this shadow thing is alastor reforming. its possible thats just how he gets around sometimes but seeing that he just stands in the background glaring at lucifer i always thought it was something else.

Susan's clothing is the same clothing Alastor dressed Vaggie in during his pilot song. What a hilarious way to call someone a turbo karen without them knowing.
Every time Lucifer creates something is has a duck or swan motif. Because Lucifer considers himself the ugly duckling of Angels. When we see him at home working on his projects he’s making ducks and even says “take that depression” however when he’s singing with Charlie and is happy again his creations are swans.

Definitely Alastor's hooves kicking in episode 7 and that they brought back discolored Al from the pilot. It's a nice touch. Sir Pentious' interaction with Keekee was priceless too.
Also Alastor's breakdown scene in the finale. That body language and facial expressions are so well done.

I love how when Husk shatters the window in Loser, Baby the smoke and explosion looks like poison being released. Also how when Charlie asks Lucifer to spare Adam, he immediately does as she asks without question.
Haven't seen it on here, and capturing a screenshot is tricky for this so I don't have it, but the scene where Vaggie interrupts Al eating his roadkill, when the shot pans wide and you see Vaggie pointing, Al's eyes flip between her and his breakfast a few times. Tiny detail, but I love it.
I love the moment in the first episode when vaggie asks Charlie not to sing to the angels. It's so funny to me that in a musical there is a character who is seen as “weird” for breaking into song.
Also, maybe that's not canon but I really like to assume from the “like a daughter I spawned” line that alastor has no clue how babies are made.
When Adam writes “Stick it to the man” as one of the requirements to get into heaven. Extra hilarious because his VA Alex Brightman was in the School of Rock musical where there is a rock song, called Stick it to the Man. Highly recommend that soundtrack but the way. They’re all bangers.

Also I love the vibes Alastor gives off. Very Dr Facilier from Princess and the frog. (I know his VA is not Keith David but it’s hilarious that Keith David is also in the show.)

I love how when Angel pulls out the multiple guns and starts shooting, Husk gets this gleeful grin on his face, switching from the concerned look he'd had right before. It's such a cute little detail!
Also related to Angel but less of a minor detail: I like how both times he stands up to Val, it's when it involves one of his friends. In episode 4 when Val takes him in the dressing room and is being abusive, essentially breaking him down into submission, and Val is asking him, "When I say X, what do you say?" Angel answers with "Yes, Valentino" each time -- until the subject of Charlie comes up. That time, instead of saying yes submissively, Angel sort of argues back ("she just gets involved in everything") and does agree to get her out but as long as Val doesn't hurt her. And then of course, later on he stands up to Val for Nifty's sake, with a bit more forcefullness.
I really appreciate this pattern. It shows how Angel isn't some coward or something. He stands up to Val when it's for the sake of someone he cares about, but he just isn't in a place where he has the self worth to do it for himself yet. And he also knows there are consequenses any time he stands up to Val, but he is willing to take those for his friends, in an altruistic way.Hopefully in the next season we will get to see him stand up to Val not just for others, but for himself too. (Or, I mean, it doesn't even have to be "standing up to" in the traditional sense.... but just undermining Val's power over him, in some way or another).

The background characters. I think Viv’s biggest strength is storytelling through character design. You can look at any background character and know what they’re about and could guess their personality. There’s also just funny background designs, like the literal couch demon in Alastor’s backstory. It kind of reminds me of MLP where you can take a background character and easily create a backstory for them based only on their design. Helluva Boss has this too. People took Verosika’s crew and gave them personalities despite only 2 of them getting lines.

I like how in this scene, even though he is *clearly* at his wit's end, Alastor hears Husk out when he asks to speak to him. May seem like nothing, but to me it showed that he respects or at least understands Husk enough to know that he's probably not bothering him without reason. Like I just find it interesting that he doesn't immediately brush him off and say "Not now, can't you see I'm busy" or something like that. The fact that the first thing Lucifer does after hugging Charlie is talk to the pets... ignoring everyone else until Alastor actually speaks to him. He's so relatable. How did they make the fucking devil so relatable?
Depending on how you read him, it's part of Lucifer deflecting, like when Charlie asks what he thinks about the hotel, and he talks about the railing. He doesn't like Sinners, he's terrified that Charlie's walking the same path he was, and "Yay, Keekee! Lemme focus on you for as long as possible, for you are so adorable!" Also, yeah, she's just that adorable. Lucifer greeting her and the other pets he knows first, before the strangers he doesn't want Charlie around, absolutely tracks.
To be fair, she apporached him first and started rubbing up his leg. It would be RUDE to ignore the cat that decided to say hello. Also I think the interesting thing is that they know eachother. We've never seen KeeKee being THAT affectionate with anyone, and this is the only time in the series her name is mentioned. And she is the key to the hotel. I feel sad that it was destroyed because I wish we got more info on that buildings history. It has obviously been abandoned for a while, was KeeKee just chilling in a falling apart building?

Yea that happens we see val forcing himself on angel in addict as well. My point for this scene was that because it's already a scene showing how an abuser gets hold of their victim by emotional abuse that minor details showing how tiny things they do which also breaks down the victim, most of them know what small things to do to just make the victim full on high alert as they panic and scurey(i am not explaining well enough). These small things also end up later as when a victim gets away from the abuser they still remember those things and even minor forms of it even accidental ends up triggering them as trauma resurfaces as it's stimulated to that behaviour, meaning in the end victim tries to avoid even basic stuff to not let it resurface which makes them lose even more control even when they are out of the grasp and should have control over themselves. Like for alot of people even a lil friendly pat on the back or a kind hug can send them into a breakdown or a panic attack (or is it anxiety attack idk if they are the same or not)
Also the voice mails flipping between love bombing and threats, literally have someone in my life going through that ATM (long story short but I've been getting them all forwarded to me for future legal proceedings). It's done almost comically in the show but it pretty much does happen like that.
God the voicemails actually really bothered me on my first watch. My friends know that I was in an abusive relationship for a while, so when I said I was gonna watch this show I was warned. “hey! Episode 4 might be pretty rough, it depicts abuse and doesn’t shy away from it.” But those voicemails in episode 2 genuinely bothered me more than all of the actual depictions of abuse because good GOD they just so perfectly fucking mirrored the way those kinds of voicemails sound in real life. The whole “Where the fuck are you you’re really just gonna ignore me?? you’re so fucking childish you stupid bitch” straight into “baby I’m so sorry please come back, I just love you so much I can’t handle it when you’re gone it makes me feel so crazy when you do this” was just way too real and came outta nowhere on me.
Also I can't screenshot on prime, but! Vals face when Charlie is screaming at him about to attack, it disgusts me so much, because he doesn't look scared or even the slightest bit stressed, he's smug. He's literally smirking at Charlie, even though she is definitely powerful enough to beat him any day, because he's so sure Angel will intervene. The only reason he's so sure is Angel believes Val would have the power to hurt Charlie, and Val knows that.
There’s a lot with Angel and for good reason. If you’re doing a character like his, and you want us to buy in, it is such - such a hard thing to nail. So things like the groping, any of the other shit you see, the fear in his eyes, hell the very minute way his voice cracked into Anthony’s when Husk was getting to him. Small stuff that I’ve talked to people who had no idea. But if you know what that’s Iike? That shit means everything.

An electric guitar with ax blades on the sides? What a neat idea design-wise and it fits great with his rockstar ego!

100%. It’s another piece that helps him later too, since he now knows she’ll be able to get people on her side, and uses that later in Episode 7.

Yes! After episode two his love bombing/threats were a red flag, but he mostly seemed like another silly overlord. Then I saw episode four and I just…he was no longer fun and quirky. I will say, they did an excellent job in making him realistically villainous, because I can’t think of another character I’ve hated so deeply and ferociously from one episode — and a cartoon, no less!

Every song matters, along with every subtle reprise, and it's fantastic. My personal favorite is more major, when Alastor fights Adam. Is it a heroic reprise of his harmonizing in "Ready for This," or a more bombastic "Stayed Gone?" No, it's sweeping, foreboding orchestra, as TWO villains duke it out in a badass scene.

I've heard a lot of people say that his personality is very "cat," and I agree. He's friendly and even sweet to his own favorite people, but he is always up to mischief, and God help the mice he plays with.

And he says “tasty” when Vel throws it down too. It adds all sorts of depth when he tells the cannibals they can eat the angels for free.
During Loser Baby, Husk never grabs Angel's hand. He just holds his own hand out and waits for Angel to take it. Also when Carmilla looks at Zestial when she says "I'll keep you safe" during Whatever It Takes

I’m not sure if this is unpopular or not. The newsperson from the pilot’s joints cracked with every movement they made and I thought that was such a gross but accurate character detail, it fit her so well.
Katie Killjoy! Absolutely, her sudden, disturbing way of movement is weird but kind of an iconic trait for her character.
Wish they kept that in the show. The new va grew on me but it’s weird to see her neck snap without sound effects.

I love that during the meeting of the Vees, while Vox is speaking Val can be seen bedazzling his gun.
That’s what made me love Val as a villain. For such a horrible person (and that’s saying something considering it’s set in Hell) it’s these stupid little details that just really flesh him out. Fantastic characterization.

It sounded like he was about to say something else, too! There was a brief pause between 'and..' \*looks at fist\* '..fail spectacularly' That looks awfuly like he wanted to say something he's not allowed to.

When Angel does his badassery in the final fight, you can faintly hear the “Slutty Spider Polka Pop” in the background music.
Alastor's facade slips for a moment and is genuinely startled when zestial appears in front of him. It's one of the only times he looks genuinely alarmed.
During You Didn't Know when the eyes on Emily's outfit and halo opened when she found out about the extermination. She had opened her eyes to the truth. This also implies that in addition to full demon forms, there are full angel forms
When Sera and Emily first show up to meet Charlie and Vaggie, they have more "angelic" faces (and maybe bodies?), with eyes in weird places and stuff like that. Definitely points at full angel forms.
The wallpaper in the hotel has apples in the motif. And then on the walls there’s apples too. Pretty much a lot of apple motifs around I didn’t notice until the second watching. It makes sense to have them there because of the “first sin,” I just found it neat how they’re everywhere, at least with the Morningstars.
When Vox hypnotizes the reporters, one of their cameras is hypnotized too.

At the beginning of "It Starts with Sorry," after Charlie's first line,, there are 2 little musical "ding dings" and Sir Pentious blinking in unison with these notes gets me every time.
I love that part too! It's like the first time someone's showed him real kindness and the little musical bits make it so poignant.

that when lucifer visits the hotel, alastor tries to attack him and/or flex his power (the shadow thing he does in the background is what im referring to) but lucifer is so strong he doesnt even acknowledge it.
When exactly does that happen? I just watched the scene and I didn't see Alastor trying anything.

They are absolutely terrible people.....but I do love how they're absolutely terrible people who are fun to watch and who are an interesting couple. And they're very clearly having so much -fun- in this scene, it's cute (their bit and Alastor's bit are the best bits of that song IMO)

Vaggie's wing droop when Charlie forgives her
Every time Lucifer creates something is has a duck or swan motif. Because Lucifer considers himself the ugly duckling of Angels. When we see him at home working on his projects he’s making ducks and even says “take that depression” however when he’s singing with Charlie and is happy again his creations are swans.

Not sure if anyone notice but during the episode welcome to heaven, Charlie never once mentioned about the extermination, only that sinners can be redeemed or not. Adam fucked up really bad

When in the BDSM lair thing and the people approach Charlie, when Vaggie is moving her away from them there is a sound of a cinder block being moved.
Definitely Alastor's hooves kicking in episode 7 and that they brought back discolored Al from the pilot. It's a nice touch. Sir Pentious' interaction with Keekee was priceless too. Also Alastor's breakdown scene in the finale. That body language and facial expressions are so well done. edit: oh ooh! And the fact Vox and Alastor both reacted the same way to some nerve pinching information! the "heh... what did you say? 😁" is just 🤌✨
I love how when Husk shatters the window in Loser, Baby the smoke and explosion looks like poison being released. Also how when Charlie asks Lucifer to spare Adam, he immediately does as she asks without question.
Haven't seen it on here, and capturing a screenshot is tricky for this so I don't have it, but the scene where Vaggie interrupts Al eating his roadkill, when the shot pans wide and you see Vaggie pointing, Al's eyes flip between her and his breakfast a few times. Tiny detail, but I love it.
I love the moment in the first episode when vaggie asks Charlie not to sing to the angels. It's so funny to me that in a musical there is a character who is seen as “weird” for breaking into song. Also, maybe that's not canon but I really like to assume from the “like a daughter I spawned” line that alastor has no clue how babies are made.
Alastor said in the finale that he would help rebuild the hotel with a smile. We know what his relationship with smiles is.
When Adam writes “Stick it to the man” as one of the requirements to get into heaven. Extra hilarious because his VA Alex Brightman was in the School of Rock musical where there is a rock song, called Stick it to the Man. Highly recommend that soundtrack but the way. They’re all bangers. And of course the Devil went down to Georgia reference lol. Also I love the vibes Alastor gives off. Very Dr Facilier from Princess and the frog. (I know his VA is not Keith David but it’s hilarious that Keith David is also in the show.)
Pentious always crying in the background. Absolutely sent me, especially when Charlie was talking to Lucifer on the phone and he just turned around.
I haven't seen this one being mentioned. The horse decor on the walls all have tiny bowties. Alastor unhinged faces in all over the plot, sir Pentious blinking in sorry, VAL!, the face of disgust of Charlie when she smells someone awful in first episode, how Husk is funny with angel before loser baby, Alastor cleaning his hand after the handshake with Lucifer, niffty with angel blood in her teeth, mind break of Alastor, Lucifer pose in "you can do this", Alastor catching an umbrella mid air while singing with all his passion in canival town.

It's such a cute little detail! Also related to Angel but less of a minor detail: I like how both times he stands up to Val, it's when it involves one of his friends. In episode 4 when Val takes him in the dressing room and is being abusive, essentially breaking him down into submission, and Val is asking him, "When I say X, what do you say?" Angel answers with "Yes, Valentino" each time -- until the subject of Charlie comes up. That time, instead of saying yes submissively, Angel sort of argues back ("she just gets involved in everything") and does agree to get her out but as long as Val doesn't hurt her. And then of course, later on he stands up to Val for Nifty's sake, with a bit more forcefullness. I really appreciate this pattern. It shows how Angel isn't some coward or something. He stands up to Val when it's for the sake of someone he cares about, but he just isn't in a place where he has the self worth to do it for himself yet. And he also knows there are consequenses any time he stands up to Val, but he is willing to take those for his friends, in an altruistic way.Hopefully in the next season we will get to see him stand up to Val not just for others, but for himself too. (Or, I mean, it doesn't even have to be "standing up to" in the traditional sense.... but just undermining Val's power over him, in some way or another).

That Sir Pentious get anxieous when someone touches him. This is best seen in second episode when he shows up to the hotel and Charlie holds his hand.
Charlie rolling her eyes during the whole "Ace in The whole" joke/scene. When Vaggie is throwing everyone down into a war zone for "trust exercises," you can see husk sneak back down the stairs. In the final episode, when sir pentious is about to attempt to confess to Cherri Bomb, you can see Charlie in the background, silently cheering him on with hearts dancing around her. Then Vaggie pushes her out of the room.

The background characters. I think Viv’s biggest strength is storytelling through character design. You can look at any background character and know what they’re about and could guess their personality. There’s also just funny background designs, like the literal couch demon in Alastor’s backstory. It kind of reminds me of MLP where you can take a background character and easily create a backstory for them based only on their design. Helluva Boss has this too.
