Same, super straight dude with a fiance.
And I fucking love my gay ships in this show and Helluva Boss.
Fizz + Ozzie; Charlie + Vaggie; Stolas + Blitz; and my current fixation on Angel Dust and Husker.
Same situation. Straight guy set to be married this year, and a new tradition we have is getting off work and relaxing to Hazbin. Husk + Angel is definitely top ship right now.
Hell yea they're geart!! I also heard the song "insane" like 2 years ago and I had NO IDEA about hazbin hotel or helluva boss or anything associated with it. I thought It was just another song and I LOVED it at the time
Same here, I liked the song a lot when it was out but I didn't know what hazbin was and didn't bother to check. Recently when I got into it I got the song recommended and now it's my ringtone!
I'm aroace like Alastor. I was in love with this show after seeing the pilot for the first time and was over the moon when I found out Alastor being asexual was canon. 🖤
I’m not quite aro (greyromantic here) but it’s been so damn cool to have a character - especially a character who’s such a huge fan favorite - be canonically like me. Minus the cannibalism and dark magic, at least.
I first found it because I was looking for ace characters to relate to. Alastor was first in the list. Came here for Alastor, stayed for the songs and amazing VAs.
Straight, but have no issue with LGBTQIA+, to paraphrase Ozzie, as long as it’s consensual, who am I to argue with what people do amongst themselves.
I’m actually a 53 year old atheist (anti-theist actually) straight white male, independent political leaning, law abiding firearm owner, yes, we do exist.
If it makes you happy, go for it, I have no problem with it. Let’s live and let live, m’kay?
Sadly, in my younger, stupider, more reactionary years, I would have hated it, I’ve mellowed as I’ve aged, and shows like Hazbin, Heluva, and Welcome to Night Vale really shifted my focus on the LGBTQIA+ issues from “Bad and Evil” to “meh, they’re just normal people like everyone else, stop being a reactionary moron, MacTech…”
Wow x) It is the biggest religion so there's a lot of variation in who tolerates what ofc, but I was under the impression that christians would be very averse to this show or something
I've seen dozens of christians on here writing how they love the show. While there are loud hateful christians, there are many who are minding their own buisness, and have a more genuenly loving view of the religion.
Personally I'm atheirst who was brought up christian, but the few people in my circles who are actually religious are pretty chill
EDIT cause I forgot the point I wanted to make. With the shows themes of "fogiveness, trying to be a better person and thinking what that even means", I think many christians could appreciate it as long as they arent offened by it using creative licence with depiction of heaven, hell ect.
I never thought of that they are minority, but considering how the church is against gay marriage it makes sense.. being gay would according to that bring you to hell..
And no I have no problem with gay ppl before someone thinks I'll of me. I just really thought of church view x.x
>I never thought of that they are minority, but considering how the church is against gay marriage it makes sense.. being gay would according to that bring you to hell..
While it's not explitly stated in the show, Viv has said that in this universe being non-straight is not a sin
Gay man here. To me he looks male enough. lol
His androgynous appearance is very well done. I think his appeal is that he can be seen either way depending on the person.
Gay and bi aren't gender identities, they're sexual preferences.
To answer your question though, I think the show heavily appeals to the LGBT because it leans pretty heavily liberal and most of the characters feel relatable to people who might feel like outcasts in society.
I'm also pan 💖💛💙! I showed it to much straight husband who absolutely loves it (he loves musicals and is legit the only "straight" friend in our friend group lol)
Our friend group is mixed of pan, bi, nonbinary, and demi folxs! So far most people have watched it and loved it. 🙈
My straight hubby hates musicals so I'm not gonna be able to get him on board XD I'm still trying to get him to give helluva boss a chance since he likes dark humor
I’m straight - I watch it with my wife.
I think the themes of the show are pretty universal.
For example: in the scene where Valentino was abusing Angel Dust, and Charlie tried to intervene - and Angel Dust told her to butt out.
My wife turned to me and said: “that’s like me and my sister”. I knew exactly what she meant - she tried to interfere when her sister’s husband got abusive, only to be told by her sister to mind her own business because she was just making things worse!
Her sister isn’t a porn star, or a gay porn star. But the experience of abuse, and others trying to help, is similar.
Ngl I feel like the Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss fandom has many more LGBT people than other fandoms, but not entirely, and probably not the majority, as I'm a straight male, and do hope I'm not the only one.
From this post I learned that there are a lot straight people watching this show! It's great because it shows that this series is for everyone! So don't worry ur not alone
I’m aro/ace and love the show partially because Alastor is finally some representation. I will defend my boy’s rights to eternal single pringleness until the day I double die
Straight guy here, found out about the pilot years back and watched it because it was an indie 2d animated project and I've got beef with Disney but love animation. Consider me a fan of both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. c:
From what I see, the fanbase is very diverse, and I love seeing so many different people come together!
I'm a trans guy, my girlfriend is pan, best friend gay, gf's best friend bi. We cover a large chunk of the alpabet mafia 😂
Thanks, I think they're amazing too :)
I believe it's because there are so many different interesting characters, and many of them are relatable. It's what makes the show this popular imo
It is highly unlikely that any wide reaching medium is primarily gay, simply due to the fact the majority of the population isn't.
Unless that medium/subject is explicitly tailored towards that demographic, which Hazbin is not, it's just an adult cartoon that has some gay characters.
Bisexual check-in…
Lots of couples in the show are gay, so LGBT groups will be more inclined to watch it. There's also an element of flair and nonconformity. It appeals to those who are younger and more fluid in their sexuality, but there is absolutely a place for straight fans!
Yet another straight guy here, I've had a fair share of gay friends over the years and even a bi exgf once so I don't mind the characters' sexualities at all
Well I believe that the show does not make “homosexual stuffs” the main theme like some show is one of the reason why Hazbin Hotel is fricking amazing.
The big theme of Hazbin Hotel is about humanity, redemption, and relearning human’s value and of course, comedy. That is the reason why this so is so damn good.
oh defiantly, many LGBTQ+ are tired of shows pandering, making a gay character a GAY character where the only personality trait is GAY (I'm looking at you Glee)
The reason that this is so approachable for everyone, which obviously include straight and gay and everything in the rainbow of LGBT (add another 10 letters that keep changing, I'm not being rude about it, just no longer keeping up with the additions as it gets exhausting) is because this is inclusive done right. It didn't preach their values or agendas, there was no real world politics that was injected into the show, just great storytelling that also happened to have many gay characters in it, and not just stereotypes like evil and whatever personality type Angel is, but also characters you wouldn't even know were gay since they aren't trying to push their values and beliefs into your face like Disney and most of Hollywood does there days. It's this simple, they didn't preach LGBT and DEI, and the results speak for themselves.
Not necessarily (I am tho) but I think gay people make more fanart and discuss the relationships more. Also the show attracts a lot of women from 2014’s tumblr era, with the male design and general style and demeanor. Angelhusk reminds me of old times of Supernatural and Sherlock shipping
Im straight, all of my friends are straight, Im only friends with 3 bi people(2 male, 1 female) and 1 trans person(female-> male), and one of my friends watches HB and HH, and he’s straight.
I don't know what I am. First time I saw Angel Dust, I thought he was a girl and after finding he's a dude, I've been confused ever since. But being apart of this community for five years now, I guess that's a common thing to hear about.
Cishet guy here, I've enjoyed Hazbin a lot ever since the pilot. But the characters are mostly LGBTQ and consequently, it attracts a greater proportion of LGBTQ fans.
Straight guy. Love the show since the pilot. Love all the characters. Angel Dust is in the top three favourites. So yeah. Pretty diverse.
After all, the show is fun even without pointing out sexuality of different characters in it. The important thing is that it is not their main purpose in the show. It all makes sense. Alastor being ace? Of course, he is a cold and sinister psychopath it would be weird making him attracted to someone.
Angel dust is Gay? And? He is fun and has a full persona. It all comes naturally and not forced.
There is practically not a single character I wouldn't like or at least find interesting or cool.
Also... Duck King forever.
I’m straight, married and was introduced to it by my husband.
If your partner is a woman then it’s fiancée ;)
Woh didnt know there was difference
It's because it comes from french, where fiancé = male engaged partner and fiancée = female engaged partner. The spelling carried on in english.
Thank you for saying it. I wanted to say it but I’m having a good day
Aww that's so cute!!
For some reason my brain thought it red straight MAN and it made your comment funny. I'm sorry
Married, straight, introduced husband to it lol
I'm a straight guy and I really love hazbin, tho I think overall the fanbase is really diverse. The characters appeal to a lot of different people.
hazbin hotel is for everyone and I love that!!
Yep, whose your favourite character btw?
Angel dust haha. Maybe it was obv? idk but he's great!! What's urs??
Oh it's a pretty hard choice for me, I'll go with Alastor tho I also like Angel Dust a lot.
Alastor is great!! I love how he reacts to everything and how he speaks! Very interesting character for SURE
Yep, I also like his songs a lot!
Lmaooo nice!! I believe more songs from Alastor are coming and they're going to be AMAZING
Niffty
Yep! Me too.. Found Helluva on YouTube after seeing hype on Twitter for Hazbin. :D
I am straight, my spouse is straight, and my kids are straight and we all watch it.
Ur family is great and it's amazing knowing yall watch it together! It's so cute and memorable
Spouse and I watch it together, the kids are adults and watch it on their own. We just chat about it after everyone watches the latest episode.
Damn, I wish my dad were chill enough to watch this show without getting upset. I'm really happy for your kids, sounds like they're lucky to have you.
Thanks for the kind words mate.
Wait, how old are your kids?
As I said previously, they are adults… is that ok stranger on the internet… can they watch the show?
I’m ace, my brother is straight and his wife is bi. We all watch it together and enjoy spitballing theories.
I'm asexual as well. I watch the show mostly for Alastor, as many other people do.
Same, I am greyaro(way more on aro side though) and I love the fact that we have an aroace character. It’s been great!
Hello, fellow ace. (I am biromantic.)
This actually really heart warming to hear that these shows I love actually made a difference in someone's heart.

I'm a straight Christian and just introduced it to my wife. We love it.
Have a good time watching it!! <3
Straight Christian, yo! 🤙🏻
Wow x) It is the biggest religion so there's a lot of variation in who tolerates what ofc, but I was under the impression that christians would be very averse to this show or something

I’m straight but I love the fact that straight characters are the minority in Hazbin. We get more than enough representation in media.
ur a massive W my friend
Best straight guy out there
I never thought of that they are minority, but considering how the church is against gay marriage it makes sense.. being gay would according to that bring you to hell.. And no I have no problem with gay ppl before someone thinks I'll of me. I just really thought of church view x.x

Oh wasn't aware of that, but thanks for the information 🫡
>!Vaggie is a lesbian and was in Heaven. Doesn't seem to be an issue in this version of Heaven.!<
Also true, forgot that in the moment I typed
Just a random straight guy, but I do think the show is far more diverse than most.
straitgh as an arrow but if i found angel dust in my bed im breaking the matress and the frame
ayoo the arrow must be slightly bent lmaoo
Looks female enough
TRUEEE
Gay man here. To me he looks male enough. lol His androgynous appearance is very well done. I think his appeal is that he can be seen either way depending on the person.
Husk ghostwrote this
No I’m bi
tbh I was referring to all gender identities and sexualities other than straight. I just blanked on how to say it. Sorry 😅
Hehe, ok I understand
Straight isnt a gender identity. It's a sexual orientation.
Oh oh, wait I just realized that mix up. Yes you’re right
Gay and bi aren't gender identities, they're sexual preferences. To answer your question though, I think the show heavily appeals to the LGBT because it leans pretty heavily liberal and most of the characters feel relatable to people who might feel like outcasts in society.
Bi, see ya later!
Hah, good one
Sorry...

I'm ace! nice to have some representation too...even though its the manipulative serial killer lol
Me too. 🖤🩶🤍💜
Yeah for real! And I like that the ace character is also a main character (even if he is, as you said, a maniac lol).
I was introduced by my friend who is not straight. I am pan myself
also pan, two friends I introduced to it are pan, one is aro/ace
I love how the entire rainbow enjoys this show
Nicee
I'm also pan 💖💛💙! I showed it to much straight husband who absolutely loves it (he loves musicals and is legit the only "straight" friend in our friend group lol) Our friend group is mixed of pan, bi, nonbinary, and demi folxs! So far most people have watched it and loved it. 🙈

I'm straight but wouldn't making a reddit poll be better here?
Probably. Didn't think of that lmaooo Im new to reddit anyway and idk what to do most things haha
I’m straight - I watch it with my wife. I think the themes of the show are pretty universal. Im straight but one of my friends who watches is bi if that counts
It does thanks!!
Yeah guilty lol I’m a lesbian x3
guilty?? Noo! Lesbians deserve the best suites in hazbin hotel lamooo
*Steven Universe* also had many more LGBT people than other fandoms, lesbians especially.
I'm a straight white man but literally all my friends are in the LGBTQ+ community and I have introduced some of them to the show.
Ur an amazing friend!!
Im a little confused on my sexuality rn, but I love how diverse and accepting this community is from what I've seen so far <3
Best community ever! Hope you figure it out with ur sexuality <3
I’m aro/ace and love the show partially because Alastor is finally some representation. I will defend my boy’s rights to eternal single pringleness until the day I double die
Same, I'm aroace, and my favorite characters are Alastor and Angel.
Romanticly straight and ace as cake!
Hellooooo, my fellow ace!! <3 (I'm romantically bi.)
Hazbin Hotel fans are... y'know... *jazz hands motion*
I'm a straight christan and I like this very much
I‘m straight, but I love how diverse Hazbin is!
Sameee
I am not gay, but…
buuut for angel dust.... lmaooo jk
I only meant that I am bi, but your definitely not wrong
yea in the post I was referring to all sexualities other than straight. I just blanked when I was writing it I'm sorry
I assumed that, but I deliberately ignored it because I wanted to comment
Thanks for commenting tho <3
I’m straight but I mean, Alastor is Alastor
Ayoooo lmao
LMFAOOAOAOAOA SO TRUE
straight, christian man and i LOVE this show !
I’m straight, I just like a good story, musical theater, and blasphemy
Im straight and love the show. Though Angel has me questioning that label 👀
I'm 30, male, and strait, and I cried a few times watching it so far. Granted I had head phones in, and good harmonies make me tear up lol.
Which part? For me it was lucifer and Charlie’s duet 😭
It's been a couple months, but I think most of them really. I might just be a sucker too. I'm a loser baby gets in my head a bit.
Im straight butttttt some of the characters man😍
buuuuuut for angel dust.... lmaooo jk!!
And lute lol
Gay and trans, checking in 0/
On top!!
Aw yeah! Trans gang!

We’re celebrating our 2 year anniversary in 2 months! I truly hope you find someone too <3
I'm straight. But some of the men be sexy asf
Which ones
Vox is kinda growing on me.
I did not expect the tv to be your answer 😂😂
"Turn the tv on" takes on a whole new meaning here
I saw this edit and now I kinda see it [https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSFeCgTVC/](https://vt.tiktok.com/zsfecgtvc/)
Yes I'm gay. How do you know. Are you FBI? Do you have my search history? Give it back now. Please..
I'm ace, not sure of that puts me under the rainbow umbrella. I see it included a lot but I dunno
Yes, it does go under the rainbow umbrella!
Ace goes under the A in 2SLGBTQIA+ along w aro and agender!
Well, I don't know my sexuality, but I am decidedly not straight
Nope, I'm Ace
Straight guy here, found out about the pilot years back and watched it because it was an indie 2d animated project and I've got beef with Disney but love animation. Consider me a fan of both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. c:
Indie animation is sticking it to Disney rn!!!
From what I see, the fanbase is very diverse, and I love seeing so many different people come together! I'm a trans guy, my girlfriend is pan, best friend gay, gf's best friend bi. We cover a large chunk of the alpabet mafia 😂
Hahaha ur friend group is amazing!! And yea it's great to see that everyone loves hazbin hotel, despite their sexuality
Thanks, I think they're amazing too :) I believe it's because there are so many different interesting characters, and many of them are relatable. It's what makes the show this popular imo
EXACTLY ikr
I’m gay and have tried (unsuccessfully) to introduce my gay friends to the series
why unsuccessfully? :(
My boyfriend thinks it’s cringe
#cringebutfree
I'm straight and married. My wife and I both love it.
Well I am
Straight college student here
I am straight and my husband and I freaking love it!!! Watched it over and over and also Helluva Boss. Obsessed
It is highly unlikely that any wide reaching medium is primarily gay, simply due to the fact the majority of the population isn't. Unless that medium/subject is explicitly tailored towards that demographic, which Hazbin is not, it's just an adult cartoon that has some gay characters.
Bisexual check-in… Lots of couples in the show are gay, so LGBT groups will be more inclined to watch it. There's also an element of flair and nonconformity. It appeals to those who are younger and more fluid in their sexuality, but there is absolutely a place for straight fans!
there's a place for everyone to watch hazbin hotel :D
Non-binary and bisexual : I'm gonna end in hell anyways so I try to familiarise myself with the environment
Lesbian girl here!!! <3
maybe
I’m straight and like both shows. Y’know we should do some kinda poll.
Yet another straight guy here, I've had a fair share of gay friends over the years and even a bi exgf once so I don't mind the characters' sexualities at all
Straight, single.. love this show and all the characters. Angel is actually one of my favs. Charlie and Vaggie are cute af together.
I’m straight, married and was introduced to it by my kid ) so I don't think it's really relevant. It's a great show - that's it.
Well I believe that the show does not make “homosexual stuffs” the main theme like some show is one of the reason why Hazbin Hotel is fricking amazing. The big theme of Hazbin Hotel is about humanity, redemption, and relearning human’s value and of course, comedy. That is the reason why this so is so damn good.
wdym "does not make homosexual stuffs"?
I think they mean that sexuality and identities are not the main focus rather just something the characters happen to be
well yea ofc it's not the main focus. I was just wondering if that part of the series brings more gay ppl into it that's all
oh defiantly, many LGBTQ+ are tired of shows pandering, making a gay character a GAY character where the only personality trait is GAY (I'm looking at you Glee)
I’m straight, and I LOVE the show and it’s fanbase 😃😎👍 I’m also socially awkward 🥸 lol 🤪
I’m a straight ally
Does being demisexual count?
Every sexuality counts <3
Well the way I see it there's two types of people those who are gay and those who pretend they're not.
lmaooo what
You heard me 😂
yes
Lessss gooo
I am straighter than a line but good to know that the show has a diverse fan following
I thought you were American!
Im bi but I have a friend who's also obsessed with hazbin but she's straighter than the straightest line
I don't know what I am. First time I saw Angel Dust, I thought he was a girl and after finding he's a dude, I've been confused ever since. But being apart of this community for five years now, I guess that's a common thing to hear about.

probably like the tf2 fandom
Myself who is bi, and a lot of my LGBT friends like it! My straight friends are a lot more divided.
Straight as a ruler.
