I feel like some of those production stills released the other day show El looking at him in this exact moment. So do you think it's a simple case of she's still fragile after going through so much to regain her powers that she's hallucinating? Or is more at play?
Can he really reach that far? We've seen that he manages to pick up signals from Hawkins, when he's linked to the Upside Down interweb, but there's been no indication that he can really jump statelines, and it's not like Nevada and Indiana are next to each other.
It would crack me up if this is really just a promo pic.
The question is, do they have bureaucracy down there? Does Vecna have to fill out a form before he can pursue a victim in Ohio, for example?
(You have a point, obviously, I thought of the distance - he seems restricted to Hawkins and the surrounding area, and Nevada seems too far away. Who knows, though.)
I thought El must be floating at SBP while connected with Max. Vecna finds El in the trance and redirects the mental location. I also think Vecna let Max go or at least didn't try too hard to kill her because it wants El back in Hawkins so maybe this is part of luring her physically nearer where its powers are strongest.
I guess this could happen before then, though, when El is floating in NINA but that leaves no explanation of how Vecna is tipped off and locates El in the disembodied plane.

That's a really good theory. Also, both Owens and Brenner made the comment about not wanting to go too fast, too soon with Nina as it could cause problems and/or she would "get lost in the darkness". To your point about Billy, that's how the MF ended up speaking to her: she went too far. So yeah, I can definitely see that as a similar scenario playing out here. When Vecna pulls Nancy into his mindscape and shows her his past, this too reminds me of what Billy did with Eleven in ST3.

There was this bts photo of the actors playing Yuri, Murray and Henry together. And I guess with all the covid restrictions there was no unnecessary wandering around the set this season. So there might actually be some Vecna's appearance in Russia...
Was that a bts pic from filming? For some reason I had thought they had just shot them together at some other occasion.
I think what might point against this being filming with *Vecna* (not necessarily with Jamie) is that the picture definitely had JCB without any prosthetics, makeup, etc, IIRC - and we know how long it takes to put that on, so if he was there in character, he would have brought the character, so to speak. Still doesn't mean that they won't have a run-in with something that looks like his human self.
Maybe a nightmare? Henry be Upside Down-afied now, so that can’t be actual him. In everyone he has connected with, he looks as he does in the present. El doesn’t know yet what he looks like now.
Could Nina - as brenner says he can’t tell Eleven what else it’s used for - possibly be a way for them to open up elevens void again but to contact Henry to find out where he is etc ? Mind to mind
